Cloudy visit around 8:43. Used the airwait system to get a numbered ticket. The system was easy to use and I was able to get a ticket without any confusion. The ticket had a QR code which, when scanned with a smartphone, showed the number of people ahead in line. You could also register for email notifications. I was already number 29. The shop wasn't very big, so I assumed I would have to wait a while and went into a cafe nearby to wait. About 15 minutes later, 10 people had left. The turnover seemed to be fast. Got called at 9:40. Still had to wait in line. The style was to order first and then find a seat. It took a bit of time to place the order, and I started eating at around 10:20. Shan Dou Jiang for 550 yen, topped with minced pork for 100 yen, and a scallion pork bun for 310 yen. Shan Dou Jiang is a soy milk soup with minced meat topping. The soup had fried bread in it, so I also bought a scallion pork bun on the side. The soup was delicious! It was a soy milk soup, but with a tofu-like texture. It had a taste similar to hot and sour soup with vinegar and chili oil, but gentler. As advertised as a Taiwanese breakfast, the taste and the feeling in the stomach were gentle. It was a street food-style shop, not a place to relax, but just eating Shan Dou Jiang made me feel energized. There were many people around speaking Chinese or Taiwanese. It seemed to be popular even among locals. I had wondered why there was such a long line for just soy milk, but now I understand. Having a delicious breakfast in the morning can lead to a productive afternoon.

I arrived at the restaurant before 11 o'clock and was able to be seated right away as there were empty tables. I ordered soy milk soup with minced meat topping, scallion pork bun, and peanut bun. The soy milk soup had a gentle flavor that made me want to have multiple servings. The scallion pork bun tasted like the filling of a meat bun and was seasoned perfectly to my liking. The peanut bun was packed with peanuts and was incredibly delicious. The restaurant is small, so it might be a good idea to get takeout.

Last time, I went around 9 o'clock on Sunday and there were about 20 groups waiting, so I gave up. This time, I arrived around 11 o'clock on a weekday and was able to enter smoothly. I ordered congee, the most popular savory soy milk (shentoujiang), and two types of savory bread with pork and radish. I also ordered two types of sweet bread with sesame and peanuts. The congee was not as watery as I had imagined, but rather thick. The savory soy milk was freshly made with a creamy texture, a good balance of sourness and spiciness. It also came with fried bread which was quite satisfying. Both the savory and sweet bread were delicious! I thought I might need more, but my stomach was completely full!

On weekdays, they open at 8 am. I woke up early and arrived 15 minutes before opening time on a weekday. There were already about 5 people waiting in line. By the time they opened, there were about 20 people in line!!! The soybeans used in their soy milk are from Miyagi Prefecture and very smooth and delicious. I chose the black sugar soy milk, and you can choose the level of sweetness. This time, I went for a sweeter option with more black sugar. It wasn't overly sweet, just the right amount for someone who likes sweet things. I recommend the peanut bread and sesame bread. They are sweet and really delicious, giving me energy in the morning. Also, I tried the red bean paste bread with three red dots for the first time, and it was incredibly tasty! The bean paste had a crumbly and smooth texture, very delicious. I want to wake up early and go back again. Thank you very much.

It's a matrix, but it's worth it!!! I discovered this restaurant a few years ago as a Taiwanese breakfast spot. The flavors exceeded my expectations and it's perfect for a cozy morning treat. The gentle taste of the tofu soup with fried bread and the crispy and juicy pork buns are so satisfying. The taste goes beyond what you see. I went around 10:30 am on a Sunday, got a ticket, and was able to get in after about 20 minutes. It seems they offer takeout too, so maybe enjoying it outside when the weather is nicer would be nice.

When I went around 12:30 on Saturday, I was able to enter without waiting in line. However, as expected, some items were already sold out, so this may not be the best time for those who have a specific dish in mind. This time, I had something like xiaolongbao and green onion pork buns. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice, and the food is delicious as always.

Taiwanese breakfast restaurant "Tokyo Doujiang Life" located a 5-minute walk from Gotanda Station is a very popular spot for breakfast. As it is a breakfast specialty store, it gets crowded in the morning. Although the store opens at 9:00 am on weekends, you can get a numbered ticket starting from 8:00 am. I arrived at the store at 8:01 am and managed to get number 6. I passed the time at Starbucks and returned to the store at 9:00 am, entering as the 6th customer. While waiting in line to order, I noticed a collaboration sandwich with Hong Ray Chen, a Taiwanese sandwich specialty store in Takadanobaba. I decided to get it for takeout. For dine-in, I ordered the savory doujiang (freshly squeezed soy milk soup) with meat floss topping (highly recommended!), scallion pork pastry, leek and egg pastry, and peanut pastry. The gentle texture and flavor of the soy milk soup and the crispy pastries were all delicious. Having the doujiang soup every morning would probably be a healthy choice. The Taiwanese sandwich I took out turned out to be unexpectedly delicious, with a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors that sets it apart from Japanese sandwiches. I'll definitely have to make a trip to Takadanobaba to buy more.

I had always wanted to visit this restaurant. My friend and I went on a weekday around 9 am. We were prepared to wait in line, but we were able to enter smoothly. We ordered the black sesame bread and the peanut bread, both of which had a gentle and delicious taste! If I can wake up early again, I would like to visit this place once more.

It was delicious. The tofu was creamy and the flavor was light, but adding the meat flakes as an accent made it even more delicious. The pie-like pastry was filled with plenty of filling, making it quite hearty and tasty when paired with soy milk. The wait time was a bit long, with about 7 groups ahead of us on a Saturday holiday at 8:45 am. We got a ticket and killed time at a nearby cafe until we were called into the store. The ticket calling number does not mean you can enter the store, so we waited outside for about 10-15 minutes and inside for about 15 minutes. It took about 10 minutes after ordering. It might be busier in the morning, so waiting in line and waiting is necessary. It was delicious, and I would like to go again.

A restaurant in Taiwan that specializes in savory soy milk (shentoujiang) for breakfast. The retro and charming building of the restaurant perfectly captures the essence of Taiwan. Savory soy milk has a mild flavor with no strong taste of soy milk or ingredients, making it easy to eat. Whether you find it delicious or not depends on personal preference. Those who appreciate the concept of this restaurant will likely enjoy the food as well. If you're curious, why not pay a visit?

I tried green bean soup for the first time. It tasted like barley tea and was similar to zenzai. It was so delicious! Everything I have tried here has been amazing. I also love the peanut congee I had before.

There is a shop near Osaki Hirokoji Station where you can fully enjoy Taiwanese cuisine. For breakfast, I had a bread with soup and rolled omelette. You can choose your bread right in front of you, so just pick your favorite one. There are many types of soups, so it might be helpful to check them in advance on the website. I went on a weekday morning and the inside of the shop was already full, but the staff recommended sharing a table, so I was able to eat inside. Thank you. You can enjoy authentic flavors at a reasonable price with a great atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

First visit! I ordered the most popular menu item (soy milk). In conclusion, it didn't suit my taste. The Sanlaitan-style soy milk soup had a strange flavor and I may have set the bar too high. I felt like it was something that a person with a high level of femininity would enjoy.

I had business in Gotanda and ordered a Tofu Soy Milk Drink for 280 yen. It was a cold drink and very delicious, especially in the lingering summer heat. It felt good for my body too.

This is a popular Taiwanese restaurant in Gotanda. There is usually a line in the morning, but I visited for the first time on a Saturday at 13:30 and there was no wait! - Salted soy milk with meat floss topping: The soy milk here is more delicious than what I had in Taiwan. By adding vinegar to warm soy milk, it creates a texture similar to silken tofu. The chili oil adds a nice accent. The meat floss topping is a must, it has the perfect sweetness and goes well with the creamy soy milk. It was so delicious that I wanted to buy it online, but it was sold out. - Peanut pastry pie: The ratio of peanut filling to pastry is about 0.5:9.5! The rich and sticky filling is packed full of peanuts, and the texture of the peanut bits is still there. I really enjoyed the sweet and savory flavor, and I ended up buying one more on my way out. - Sesame pastry: Similar to the peanut pastry, it is almost all sesame filling. It is also rich and satisfying, with a smoother texture compared to sesame dumplings. - Sesame soy milk (cold): Slightly sweet soy milk with a hint of sesame flavor, it is thick and filling. It can also be a dessert substitute. - Rice milk (cold): A soy milk drink made from rice and peanuts. It has a sweeter taste than sesame soy milk, similar to sweet sake. The restaurant only has table seating. In the morning, they use a ticket system and there tends to be a long line. However, in the early afternoon, there was no line, so it's a good time to visit! This place offers a healthy option that I would want to eat every day. The addition of meat floss makes a huge difference. They occasionally sell their products online, and I would definitely recommend it to all soy milk lovers! Menu items I tried and loved on this day: - Salted soy milk with meat floss topping: 580 yen + 110 yen - Peanut pastry pie: 300 yen - Sesame pastry: 260 yen - Sesame soy milk (cold): 420 yen - Rice milk (cold): 320 yen Overall rating on Tabelog: 3.61 Opening hours: 8:00-15:00, may close early if sold out Closed: New Year's holidays No reservations Budget: Up to 1,000 yen Address: 1-20-3 Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo MKY Building 1F Thank you for reading until the end. I finally had the chance to enjoy a Taiwanese-style breakfast at Tokyo Miso Life, a place I had been wanting to visit for a long time. I arrived around 9:15 am, 15 minutes after the opening time of 9 am, and the place was already packed! I managed to get a waiting ticket from the front of the store. At this point, there were already 8 groups waiting outside. I was prepared to wait for about an hour, but surprisingly, I was called in after just 30 minutes. Once called, I placed my order at the register and was then guided to my seat by a staff member. It's worth noting that you may end up sharing a table with strangers, so if you're not a fan of that, be aware. The time between ordering at the register and being seated can result in additional waiting time if the previous customers don't leave promptly, so it's best to go when you have some flexibility in your schedule, or opt for takeout if you're in a hurry. This time, I tried the soy milk soup and the pork and leek bun. The soy milk soup had a gentle flavor, perfect for a relaxing day or when you're feeling tired. The addition of vinegar gave it a slightly thick and satisfying texture, more like eating than drinking soy milk. The pork and leek bun was packed with filling, providing a sense of satisfaction. I'm looking forward to trying the sweet buns next time. Overall, my first visit was a success, and I realized that having an early breakfast on a weekend can really enhance the satisfaction of the day. I recommend waking up early and enjoying a Taiwanese-style breakfast for yourself! Highly recommended!

I couldn't forget the delicious breakfast I had in Taiwan, so I was looking for a place in Tokyo where I could eat something similar. I found a highly-rated restaurant in Gotanda and decided to visit. When I arrived at 10:30, there were about 4 groups of people waiting in line. I learned that before 10:30, customers with reservation tickets were allowed in, and regular customers could enter from 10:30 onwards. I ordered salty soy milk soup, grilled rice cake with scallion and egg, and minced meat. The taste was different from what I expected, with a slightly sour soy milk soup with small pieces of fried dough. The texture of the grilled rice cake was like eating a pastry, and the minced meat had a sweet taste. The egg flavor was not very strong. Although the taste was not to my liking, I felt that it was a healthy breakfast option. The exterior and interior of the restaurant made me feel like I was back in Taiwan, which was a great experience.

Day 2 of my Tokyo trip! For breakfast this morning, I went to "Tokyo Doujiang Life" in Gotanda. This place usually has long lines on weekends, but since it's a weekday, I was able to walk in easily. I had the weekday special which was mushroom and chicken congee, and a scallion pork bun. It all felt very healthy. The congee was packed with ingredients and the flavor changed as I mixed it, very delicious. The scallion pork bun is a popular dish in Taiwan, light and tasty. It made me feel like I want to visit Taiwan someday.

Tokyo Doujiang Life is a shop located about a 5-minute walk from Gotanda Station, with the nearest station being Osaki Hirokoji Station, about a 2-minute walk away. Here are some highlights of the shop: - Enjoy Taiwanese breakfast with soy milk soup and steamed buns. - The soy milk is freshly made in the shop. - Open from morning to noon. When you enter the shop, you can choose steamed buns and then decide on the soy milk. Menu items include: - Salty soy milk (Shentouji) ¥580 - Pork floss (Rousong) ¥110 - Chive pastry ¥300 - Peanut pastry ¥300 (most popular) The salty soy milk with pork floss topping has a gentle and slightly firm texture with a mild and comforting flavor. It has a hint of vinegar tang and chili oil spiciness, with fried bread and scallions added. The pork floss topping is a traditional Taiwanese flavor made by simmering pork in soy sauce and sugar. The chive pastry is a pie filled with chives, eggs, and glass noodles, freshly fried and packed with filling, making it a great side dish to pair with the gentle soy milk. The peanut pastry is the most popular sweet option, filled with plenty of peanuts and a sweet flavor with a hint of saltiness that makes it addictive. Although the shop is open from morning to noon, those who enjoy it will surely be hooked. I personally loved it and will definitely revisit. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The other day, I went on a trip to Taiwan for the first time in a while. I couldn't forget the salty tofu breakfast I had there, so I visited this place for the first time. It's located in a back alley a short walk from Gotanda Station. The stylish interior has a spacious feel. Even on a weekday morning, there were several customers. You order at the counter. In Taiwan, it's common to eat fried bread, Taiwanese-style crepes, bread with egg omelette, etc., but because of the heat, I didn't have much of an appetite, so this time I went with just the salty tofu. After a few minutes of waiting at the table, it arrived. You pick up your order at the counter. It looks more refined than in Taiwan. At first glance, it looks like a milk-based soup. But when you mix it well, the tofu starts to solidify. When you take a bite, you can taste a pleasant acidity and just the right amount of saltiness. There's also a faint sesame fragrance. It was delicious. I dipped the fried bread that came with it in the tofu. It was delicious. It was a bit disappointing that it had green onions instead of cilantro, but it was very tasty. I waited for an hour to eat at the most popular shop in Taipei, but I prefer this one as a Japanese person. I finished it in no time. It was over 30 degrees outside. My forehead was sweating from the warm tofu, but it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

There is a shop in Gotanda that feels like it has wandered into Taiwan, about a 5-minute walk from the station. They serve Taiwanese-style breakfast. It seems they distribute numbered tickets on weekends, but I was able to enter the shop right away on a weekday morning. The radish pastry was delicious, with plenty of radish that had been salted and mixed with dried shrimp. It was a healthy breakfast that seemed good for the body.
