Come to Nishijin, it's a great area! There are many bakeries in this area. I visited the old-fashioned bakery "Taisho Seipanjo" established in 1919. The nostalgic interior makes you feel like you've traveled back in time. The sandwich rolls and filled buns look delicious! I wonder which one to choose... - Frank Roll with sausage from Ooyama Ham: 350 yen. It has a nostalgic taste with curry-flavored cabbage and ketchup. It seems like it would be even more delicious when toasted to a crisp. - Potato Salad Roll (not sure about the name): This one also has a gentle flavor. - Curry Bread (not sure about the name): There are two types, sweet or regular. It seems like it would be even more delicious when toasted at home, but I had to give up since I was at work.

When I came to Kyoto last Sunday, I found this place. It caught my attention, but it was closed on that day. I was intrigued by the name of the shop and when I read the reviews, I found out that it is a long-established bakery from the Taisho era. So, I visited this Saturday. I bought salt bread, cream bread, red bean butter, and hard toast. I really liked the hard toast.

An old-fashioned bakery. The sign outside says "Non-fried curry bread," which caught my interest and led me to enter. However, the non-fried curry bread was sold out... but they had regular curry bread. The familiar curry flavor was generously filled inside the bread. It was a comforting taste. They had a variety of simple pastries like cream bread and croquette bread. The lady at the shop was cute, saying things like "We had a festival today, so the bread sold out!" or "Feel free to open the fridge. We're that kind of open shop!" I felt like cheering them on. I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal.

..Kyoto Record Taisho Seipanjo was established in 1919, making it a bakery with a history of over 100 years. There were so many delicious-looking breads to choose from, but the standout items were the hearty sandwich bread and hamburgers. I decided to try the shrimp fry bread and the homemade pork cutlet roll, both of which were incredibly delicious..

Curry bread is 200 yen, cream bread is 170 yen. The curry bread has a fairly spicy and delicious sauce! It's not too greasy and easy to eat. The cream bread was not really to my taste. The cream doesn't have a strong egg-like flavor.

The retro bakery, which has been well-known for its long history, has been in business for 103 years as of this year (2022). Located in Kyoto, known for consuming the most bread in Japan, this bakery was established in 1919, following in the footsteps of the famous "Shinshindo" bakery founded in 1914. The atmosphere inside and outside the shop is reminiscent of days gone by, and the friendly old lady running the shop was accommodating and pleasant. With a wide variety of bread to choose from, I selected the top-selling items: the mildly spicy curry bread, cream bread, egg roll, and red bean butter sandwich. Among these, the cream bread stood out for its rich and delicious cream filling, while the red bean butter sandwich exceeded my expectations with its satisfying taste. The egg salad sandwich, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming. The mildly spicy curry bread was decent, but overall, three out of the four items were quite satisfying. These breads, with their nostalgic flavors, are perfect for everyday enjoyment. The shop offers a wide selection of bread, including various savory and sweet options like muffins and sweet buns. The friendly old lady at the shop left a positive impression, making "Taisho Seipanjo" a standout bakery in Kyoto, with its retro charm and extensive variety of bread. If you ever have the chance, I recommend stopping by this bakery, where you can find a range of bread priced from 100 to 250 yen. The bakery is located on the south side of Imadegawa Chibon Higashi in Kyoto.

Wow, it's surprising that this place was founded in the 8th year of Taisho era! The shop isn't very big, but I always struggle to decide what to get. I tried a croissant that looked like a fruit sandwich in the refrigerated case and it was delicious. Both the sweet pastries and savory dishes are tasty, and even their "melon pan" (a type of sweet bread popular in Kansai region) is delicious.

I bought a Pork Cutlet Roll for 360 yen and a Matcha Warabi Mochi Danish for 260 yen. The homemade sauce on the Pork Cutlet Roll has a slight acidity and is delicious. The Matcha Warabi Mochi Danish is topped with matcha, custard, red bean paste, and matcha warabi mochi. The red bean paste in the popular An Donut is delicious. The prices are a bit on the high side.

I arrived at the store around 11 am on Saturday. I bought the popular No.1 curry bread (medium spicy), while my companion preferred the Kyoto melon bread. The Kyoto melon bread has a unique depth to it with a rich white bean paste that seems to have butter mixed in.

"Located in Imadegawa, Senbon, this long-established bakery, "Taisho Seipanjo," has been in business for over 100 years. It was founded in the Taisho era and is said to be the oldest in Kyoto. Whenever I visit here, I always make sure to buy their curry bread and roll bread. I hope this bakery, with its nostalgic flavors, continues to thrive for years to come!"

There is a bakery located east of Imadegawa Street called Ootani Seipan. This area is known as the Imadegawa Bread Street, where both new and old bakeries compete against each other. Popular bakeries like Le Petit Mec or Marie France can be found here. Among them, Ootani Seipan seems to be the oldest establishment. The shop has a retro exterior, and inside, an elderly lady serves customers. The atmosphere is charming and the handwritten signs add to the appeal. I decided to try their Menchi Katsu Burger, which was filled with plenty of vegetables and the sauce was well-balanced. The Salt Butter Bread had just the right amount of salt and butter, and tasted great with milk. The prices are quite reasonable considering the current situation, and I will continue to support this shop by purchasing their delicious bread.

I visited looking for bread to take fishing from the evening~☆ I already know what I want to buy though (≧▽≦) I got two red bean butter sandwiches made with four-leaf clover butter and two popular ham cutlet rolls. When I entered the store... (;^_^A) they were out of ham cutlet rolls⤵ I asked the staff and they said they would be ready soon~ That's good⤴⤴ Yes! I'll wait♡ I took a picture at home first☆ Since they were freshly made, they seemed a little sweaty... As for the taste, it was just delicious⤴⤴ The bread was chewy♪ The ham cutlet was also delicious☆ I would like to stop by again♪ Thank you for the meal (^人^)

Established in 1919, this bakery is one of the oldest in Kyoto, alongside "Shinshindo." Known for its rich history, Kyoto is a prefecture that once had the highest bread consumption in Japan, making this bakery a must-visit for those interested in Kyoto's bread culture. Located in Nishijin, the bakery became popular for offering bread that could be eaten without getting hands dirty in between weaving sessions of Nishijin fabric. Here are some popular menu items: - Curry Bread (¥170): The most popular item, with a chewy texture and a generous amount of curry filling. Despite having few ingredients, the right level of spiciness makes it quite delicious. - Cream Bread (¥160): Another popular choice, with a slightly dry texture but a mild custard cream filling that is sweet and enjoyable for daily consumption. - Egg Roll (¥240): A coppe pan filled with egg salad. The bread is slightly dry, but the egg salad is smooth and not too acidic, possibly due to the homemade mayonnaise used. Overall, it was quite delicious!

A bakery located east of Senbon Imadegawa, with a history of over 100 years. I visited in the early afternoon and the shelves were well stocked with bread. I bought curry bread, kuskut, and salt butter bread. The curry bread was still warm, freshly fried. The bread was not soggy, it held its shape well, and was crispy. The curry inside was spicy and addictive. Kuskut is a ham and onion salad sandwich bread. The ham and onion salad complement each other well, and while the filling is not packed, it was satisfying. I always buy salt bread when I go to a bakery, but this shop has salt butter bread. The salt flavor is subtle, balanced with the butter, and another item I would like to buy again. Overall, the bread quality is high, despite the old-fashioned appearance of the shop. It's a place I want to visit many times.

A bakery located at the intersection of Senbon Imadegawa. Established in 1919, it has a history of over 100 years. I visited because I passed by in a car. There were more breads displayed in the store than I expected, and each one evoked a sense of nostalgia. I wanted to try the sandwich bread, but it was right after lunch so I chose other breads. Shokupan (Japanese white bread) "Inaka France" - 200 yen Cream Pan - 155 yen The Cream Pan was different from what I imagined, as the cream was white instead of the yellow color I expected from using a lot of egg yolk. It had a gentle sweetness and was easy to eat, giving the impression that children would like it. It's a good store where you can feel nostalgia. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

This is a memory of a delicious curry bread shop! They had two types of curry bread, medium spicy and sweet. The recommended one is the medium spicy. However, today there is only one sweet curry bread left, which is tempting. Next, the staff recommended the cream bread, so I got both the curry bread and the cream bread. The warm curry bread is delicious with a gentle spiciness. Have you heard of New Bird? It's a deli bread born in Kyoto about 50 years ago. It's really delicious, but it's hard to find lately. I searched for it in Kyoto, Nishijin, at the intersection of Senbon Imadegawa, about 30m southeast. The sign says established in 1916. Unfortunately, they no longer have New Bird. The medium spicy curry bread costs 175 yen, and the cream bread costs 155 yen. There is only one sweet curry bread and one cream bread left. The curry bread is hot and delicious with a perfect balance of spiciness and crispy bread crumbs. The cream bread has a good flavor and soft bread, but the custard cream inside is a bit too light for my taste. This is a curry bread shop, New Bird is not available!

Sweet curry bread with no spiciness, but also a spicy medium-spicy curry bread with a spicy curry chocolate bread with a smooth chocolate cream and red bean paste. I still love the medium-spicy curry bread the most! ❤️

Cascoute: A small baguette sandwich filled with ham, onions, and parsley mayonnaise, with a spicy kick from either mustard or onions. Delicious! Pork Cutlet Sandwich: Cabbage, lettuce, and parsley sandwiching a large pork cutlet covered in a sweet sauce. The white fish fry that spills out is marinated in the same sauce and topped with lettuce, parsley, and tartar sauce made with eggs, onions, and pickles. Spicy Curry Bread: A hearty curry filling with finely mixed ingredients and a spicy kick, paired with a soft bread. Three-Color Bread: A combination of strawberry jam, cream, and red bean paste, with the red bean paste being the favorite. Kyoto Melon Bread: A melon bread with white bean paste filling, creating a harmonious blend of buttery cookie dough and sweet white bean paste.

Ebi fry sandwich sauce and tartar sauce double croquette burger with boiled potatoes, lettuce, and cabbage inside. The croquette dipped in spicy sauce is slightly sweet with lettuce and cabbage. Egg sandwich made with mayonnaise with less acidity. Spicy curry bread with breadcrumbs only on top, my favorite by far. Melon bread with moist cookie dough and cream filling. Cream bread with thin dough and plenty of cream, made with transparent cream. Anpan with a moderately sweet red bean paste filling.

I visited the shop after having lunch at Hamazushi. The shop is located east of Senbon Imadegawa. It's an old shop, isn't it? I bought Anpanman bread for 100 yen, which my grandchild enjoyed. Jam bread for 140 yen had a nostalgic taste. I tried the spicy curry bread for 160 yen, and it was delicious. The simple and tasty Ham Katsu Roll for 230 yen was also good. This is good, isn't it?
