I visited a hotel around 9:00 on a regular day and found that the café on the 2nd floor was not crowded at all, making it a hidden gem. They serve specialty coffee through hand drip for 710 yen, which is a bit pricey but still cheaper than in Taiwan. The taste of coffee beans can vary not only by region but also by processing methods like washed and natural, reflecting the shop's philosophy and the roaster's approach. I enjoy exploring the differences in taste by focusing on specific coffee beans and learning about the thoughts of the producers and roasters while savoring the drip coffee. I am particularly fond of Ethiopian coffee for its rich history and the balanced sweetness and acidity that are characteristic of Ethiopian coffee. Ethiopia, known as a coffee powerhouse, is the birthplace of Arabica coffee, a beloved variety worldwide. The country is rich in natural resources and has a population of around 100 million people. Many Ethiopians are involved in the coffee industry, which has gradually expanded from the natural growth of coffee trees (Arabica variety) to coffee plantations. Ethiopian coffee is known for its well-balanced sweetness and acidity, offering a unique freshness that is cherished globally. I only give 5 stars to the restaurants that I truly love and would like to visit again and recommend to my friends. My Instagram account, where I only post about 5-star places, is @taiwan_natural_you, focusing on natural and specialty cafes. I first learned about Passage Coffee from the existence of their store in Mita, but I couldn't find the opportunity to visit there, so I visited this store first. They serve their original coffee beans that are roasted in-house, which made me happy as a coffee lover. The cafe is located on the 2nd floor of a hotel building and is open to non-guests as well. On this day, I ordered a Drip Coffee Colombia Natural for 1030 yen (tax included) and a 100g bag of Passage Coffee Blend for 920 yen to take home. The coffee I had in the store was delicious and exactly to my liking, and I also enjoyed the Passage Coffee Blend at home. There are still several Passage Coffee stores that I haven't visited yet, so I am looking forward to visiting their other locations as well.

■Access: 3 minutes walk from Ningyocho Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line ■Second visit ■Purpose: Solo coffee break ■Overview: PASSAGE COFFEE is the 4th domestic store with the concept of enjoying specialty coffee on a daily basis. Located on the 2nd floor of the hotel "MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Nihonbashi," the cafe is open to both hotel guests and non-guests. ■Menu: The drink menu is based on coffee, with various options such as cafe latte and affogato. Customers can choose between hand drip and AeroPress extraction methods, catering to the needs of coffee lovers. On this day, I ordered the Cold Brew Coffee (640 yen). ■Impression: The cafe shares the lounge space of the hotel, creating a stylish atmosphere that blends traditional Japanese and modern elements. This hidden gem allows you to relax and enjoy a luxurious coffee break. I had a cafe latte during my previous visit, but this time I opted for the Cold Brew Iced Coffee. Brewed for 12 hours, the iced coffee had a fruity and refreshing taste, making it a perfect choice for a hot day. The cafe also provides power outlets and WiFi, making it suitable for work. I look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience. ■Rating at the time of visit: 3.11

Visited for the morning menu. The hotel is located on the 2nd floor, which makes it a hidden gem. Unfortunately, the spacious area was not available due to cleaning, but the comfortable seating and pleasant music made for a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel offers Wi-Fi, making it a perfect spot for remote work. The beautiful artwork on the walls caught my eye and I found myself admiring them. Be sure to find your favorite piece when you visit. As for the morning menu, the bagel I was looking for was not available as the bakery supplier had stopped production. A bit disappointing, but I chose the Fig and Walnut bread instead. The morning coffee was from Brazil, with a refreshing acidity. The bread was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a subtle sweetness. The pastries are made in-house, including gluten-free cookies and my favorite banana cake. I considered buying some for home, but I plan to come back, so I'll save it for next time. Overall, it was a great place to visit.

The café in the lobby of the new hotel was relaxing in the early afternoon with few customers. I tried the hand drip coffee from Honduras, which was not familiar to me. I waited patiently at a table while it was being brewed. It was served in a glass pot and a small bowl, which was a unique style. As usual, I let it cool a bit before tasting. The coffee from Honduras was lightly roasted, fruity, and slightly sweet. It had a delicious flavor that only a specialty coffee shop can bring out. The price was 670 yen, which I found very reasonable. I highly recommend this café as a hidden gem for delicious coffee.

I came to this cafe with a friend because I wanted to have a leisurely chat. The entrance of the hotel has a Japanese-style noren curtain, which is lovely. We took the elevator to the second floor and found the cafe next to the front desk. I ordered a soy latte and we sat at a table, but there were also Japanese-style tatami seating available. We enjoyed our soy lattes while chatting. Only a few foreigners staying at the hotel came in, so it was mostly quiet. It was a relaxing cafe. Thank you for the meal.

A café located on the second floor of a hotel in Ningyocho. It seemed to be popular among foreign guests checking out at the nearby front desk for a quick break. I was recommended the oatmeal cookie with my hot café latte. The café has various seating options including tables, tatami-like spaces, and seats by the wall, creating a nice atmosphere. The owner, who happened to serve me, was apparently the winner of a competition in 2014.

The horse-kurama area has seen a rapid increase in hotels catering to inbound tourists. One such hotel, "MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Nihonbashi," seems to have popped up out of nowhere. Most of the customers entering the hotel appear to be foreigners, although there don't seem to be any Chinese guests today. The second floor houses the front desk, with a café space next to it. While the atmosphere is quite calm and sophisticated, it doesn't quite reach the level of a luxury hotel lounge (laughs). -Americano (600 yen) -Chocolate chip scone (390 yen) Payment is made upfront, but they bring the coffee to your table. Surprisingly, it seems to be a coffee specialty shop, and the coffee is incredibly delicious. The aroma is particularly fantastic. The price is a bit high, but it's on par with what you'd expect from a coffee specialty shop, so it seems reasonable. The scone is similar to Starbucks, meaning it's reasonably tasty. They warm it up nicely. The café closes at 5:30 in the evening, so it seems to cater more to daytime visitors. I can't help but think that the café scene in the horse-kurama area has really improved with some great options available.

On November 25, 2022, the 4th PASSAGE COFFEE store, "PASSAGE COFFEE NIHOMBASHI," will open. This store is located in the lounge next to the entrance of MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Nihonbashi Hotel 2F, and is a coffee stand that can be used by both hotel guests and non-guests. Like your favorite fruits, coffee beans contain various flavors such as lemon, peach, blueberry, and even flowers. To bring out the true charm of the ingredients, PASSAGE COFFEE's baristas, who have walked various paths, are committed to turning coffee beans into "coffee" until the end. The journey of a single bean continues into people's daily lives, making it feel more familiar. On Sunday afternoon, it was pouring rain. I got a takeout of iced latte and gold brew. Both were delicious, and I will definitely come back for more. The coffee shop next to the hotel reception on the second floor is a nice and quiet space to relax.

It would have been more comfortable if the check-in and check-out times for travelers didn't overlap. The way they make coffee at Nihonbashi is the best among Mita, Setagaya, and Nihonbashi. They bring out the acidity and aroma of lightly roasted coffee to perfection. It was really delicious.
