My morning ramen experience at the renowned Kyoto restaurant "Honke Daiichi Asahi Honten" was truly a blissful time that cleansed my soul. I arrived at 7:15 am on a Saturday and there was already a line of 10 people. The turnover rate at this popular restaurant is high, and I was seated inside in about 10 minutes. The customer base may vary depending on the time of day. When I visited in May, there were many local regulars, but this time there were more tourists. By the time I entered the restaurant, the line had grown to nearly 20 people. I ordered the "Special Ramen" with an additional 150 yen option for extra meat. The clear pork soy sauce soup, made with soy sauce from a traditional brewery in Fushimi, Kyoto, was of high quality and evident from the first sip. The aged dried noodles made from multiple types of wheat had a rich aroma and a satisfying chewiness. The chashu, made from lean female pork, was tender and perfectly complemented the soup. The toppings included fragrant green onions from Kujo in Kyoto and crunchy bean sprouts, adding depth and complexity to the bowl of ramen. After savoring this exquisite bowl, I headed to my next destination, Kinkaku-ji temple. Each of Kyoto's famous sightseeing spots has its own beauty and history, and the ramen experience at "Honke Daiichi Asahi Honten" is no exception. Thank you for the delicious meal! ❤️

I have been interested in this place for over 20 years, and finally had the chance to visit. I ordered their special ramen without hesitation. It was light yet flavorful, with noodles that had a nice chewy texture. The staff were quick and efficient, making it a great dining experience. I enjoyed my meal very much.

I had the special ramen covered with slices of char siu. The char siu was delicious! It was thinly sliced, but you could enjoy the difference in taste between the fatty and lean parts. The noodles were thin and, personally, I found them to be average.

I visited around 10 am on a weekend, and there were already over 30 people waiting in line. The ramen shop next door had about 10 people in line. It's amazing to see two such popular shops side by side. There are many tourists from various Asian countries as well. I was prepared to wait, but my expectations were high. After waiting for over 30 minutes, I was seated. I had already placed my order for ramen (850 yen) before entering the shop. It only took about 5 minutes for my order to be served. The soup had a sharp soy sauce flavor, which I personally enjoyed. The noodles matched the soup perfectly. The toppings included char siu, green onions, and bean sprouts, which balanced well with the flavorful soup. It's been a while since I've finished a bowl of ramen soup, but this time I drank it all up without stopping until the end. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When it comes to ramen in Kyoto, this place is a must-visit! I went around 3:30 pm and there was already a line. I waited for about 20 minutes before getting a seat. I ordered the light tonkotsu shoyu ramen. The noodles were medium thickness and straight. The ramen came with 5-6 slices of chashu, which I thought was quite generous. It also had bean sprouts and green onions. The flavor was slightly on the rich side, but not overly distinctive. It was just simply delicious. If this place was nearby, I would definitely go again. Next time, I might try ordering extra green onions.

I had been curious about Ichiran Main Store for a while. I lined up at 13:30 and was able to enter after about 15 minutes. I ordered the special ramen in large size. They had taken my order in advance, so it arrived relatively quickly! It looked really delicious. First, I tried the soup. It had a matured soy sauce flavor, which was nice. The noodles were standard, but they paired perfectly with the soup! It was very satisfying to eat! I would like to go again if there is no line.

I came near work and wanted to stop by one place for a meal. I arrived around 12:15 am and there was a line of about 10 people. It's a popular place for sure. I got in around 12:25 am and ordered the regular ramen. It was a light soy sauce-based ramen with hardly any fatty taste in the chashu. It was just right for a late-night meal. However, I didn't feel any special deliciousness, just satisfied to have ramen as a meal closer. I probably won't visit again. *PayPay not accepted.

Visited a popular restaurant with its main store in Kyoto for lunch during my trip. It was around 3 pm on a weekday and there was a line, so I waited for about 30 minutes to get in. I had Menma Ramen and Gyoza. The gyoza was small and had a normal taste. The ramen had spaghetti-like noodles and tasted good for the first three bites, but after that, I started to wonder why it was so popular and struggled to finish the never-ending noodles. The Menma was delicious though. If you're not very hungry, I think a half portion of ramen would be enough for women. I went for the memory of Kyoto, but I feel like I don't need to go back again! The service was really good though. ‍♀️

I stayed at The Thousand Kyoto and took an early morning walk where I stumbled upon the main branch of Daiichi Asahi. It was 6 am but they were open and there was already a line. The taste was refreshing and suitable even for breakfast. I later found out that this place is listed on Tabelog's Top 100 restaurants. #DaiichiAsahi #Kyoto #KyotoCuisine #KyotoStation #KyotoSightseeing #KyotoMorning #KyotoBreakfast #Morning #Breakfast #Ramen #RamenShop #RamenLover #RamenInstagrammer #RamenPatrol #RamenClub #RamenGirls #Noodles #NoodleLover #NoodleShop #NoodleFan #KyotoRamen #Japan #Tabelog #TabelogTop100 #TabelogHighRating

I visited the main branch of the Asahi Honten, which I had wanted to visit for a long time, within walking distance from Kyoto Station. It was just after 2 pm on a weekday, but there was a line of about 25 people... While waiting, the menu came around and a staff member took our order in advance. After about 30 minutes, we finally entered the restaurant. The inside was quite cool with the air conditioning, and we were seated at the counter. I had already eaten ramen earlier that day, so I ordered a mini ramen for 700 yen and gyoza for 300 yen. Although there are a few Kyoto ramen shops in my local Sagamihara, they tend to be quite heavy and oily. The soup here was light and easy to eat, and I thought I could have ordered a regular size. The noodles were medium-thin and had a chewy yet refreshing texture. The gyoza was also delicious and would go well with beer. I really enjoyed the meal, thank you for the delicious food.

I finally went to the main branch of Daiichi Asahi. There was quite a long line, but it moved quickly and we were able to get in after about 30 minutes. It brought back memories, I think I may have been here about 20 years ago. The ramen was traditional and very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Today I went to Kyoto with my son. We headed to a restaurant where we had previously given up due to the long line and ended up eating at a neighboring ramen shop. This time, determined to get our revenge, we arrived at 10 am. There was already a line, but it wasn't too bad. However, waiting in the scorching sun without any shade was hot. When we got to the front of the restaurant, there was mist spraying (laughs). After about 20 minutes, we were seated and placed our order before entering: one ramen for 800 yen and gyoza for 300 yen. My son ordered the same. After a short wait, the gyoza and ramen arrived. The soy sauce ramen had plenty of chashu and green onions. It looked rich, but the taste was surprisingly light and not too salty. It had a subtle umami flavor that gradually became more pronounced and delicious. The medium-thick noodles were well coated in the soup. The gyoza had a crispy skin and was of high quality, not what you would expect for 300 yen. The chashu in the ramen was tender and really tasty. I could eat a bowl of rice with this. I drank most of the soup, it was really delicious. Sometimes I crave soy sauce ramen. Thank you for the meal.

The skill is still excellent! I hadn't been to Kyoto in about 30 years, so I decided to visit. It was the first day of a three-day weekend, Saturday before 6 pm, and there was already a long line, so I had to wait for 30-40 minutes. They took our order while we were waiting in line, so we were served as soon as we sat down. I ordered the Menma Ramen, and it was just as delicious as before, with tasty noodles and soup. We shared the gyoza with my partner, and it was small, with thin crispy skin, and very delicious. I wish we had ordered a whole plate for ourselves. If I have the chance to visit Kyoto again, I would love to come back. Thank you for the meal!

Opening my solo gourmet trip to Kyoto, I finally made it to the famous ramen shop, Honke Daiichiasahi Honten. Upon arriving at Kyoto Station, I headed straight there. I arrived around 10:50 and there was a line of about 20 people. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I was seated at the counter. I ordered the special ramen. Starting with the soup, it was rich and delicious but a bit saltier than I expected. The noodles were thin and straight, which paired well with the soup. The char siu pork was well-seasoned and tender, very tasty. Overall, I would say it was just a delicious bowl of ramen. It was good to be able to come here. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived in Osaka late at night and woke up early to have breakfast at Takabashi First Asahi in Kyoto. I joined the line at 6:35 am with 10 people ahead of me. The weather was nice and the line moved quickly, so it was not a problem. After waiting for 10 minutes, I entered the restaurant and had the usual mini ramen for breakfast. I added as much red spice as I liked. When I used to live in Kyoto, I honestly did not like it much, but when I feel like a tourist, I appreciate the magic of Kyoto.

Today, I woke up early because I wanted to eat at Asahi, the flagship store of Kyoto Akira-style ramen. There is always a long line at lunchtime, probably over an hour wait. However, in the morning, it's smooth sailing. Even so, when I arrived right at 7 o'clock, there was a wait for two people. The soup has a sharpness and richness, with a perfect balance that is excellent. The only downside for me is that the noodles from Kondo Seimen don't quite match, which deducts some points. It's best to cook them a bit softer, but I still find the smell of flour to be strong. Nevertheless, since I'm used to it, I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal.

After many years, I tried the Menma Ramen and Kimchi again. The taste had changed last time I went after the renovation, so I hadn't been back for a while. But today, it was delicious with the rich flavor from the past. It's definitely worth waiting in line for!

On a regular day at 6:25, I managed to get the 7th spot in line! Impressive! They open at 6:00 AM, so it seems like quite a few people were already there from the start. I got seated in about 20 minutes. I ordered the "Menma Ramen" with firm noodles. I forgot the price. It was ready in about 5 minutes. Overall, I really liked the taste. I've been into menma lately. The firm noodles are a must for me. Eating ramen in the morning... well, I'd like to hear your opinion after trying it, haha. I'm not forcing you, but at least it's not as crowded in the morning compared to midnight or during the day, so I recommend it! And that's how my morning in Kyoto started from here. (*^^*)

I arrived early for a business trip and found a ramen shop nearby that is open until 1 am. It had high ratings on Tabelog and was quite popular, with a line of over 10 people outside even past 10 pm. I waited for about 20-30 minutes before entering the shop, where I was immediately asked for my order. The shop had an old-fashioned charm, with a slippery floor, but what mattered most was the taste. I ordered the special ramen, which was rich and flavorful with thin straight noodles, thin-sliced chashu, and green onions. It was a sinful delight to have ramen late at night, and I would love to try their morning ramen as well, as they open at 6 am.

I have always seen the long line from the taxi and finally got the chance to visit. On a Sunday at 7:10 PM, there were about 30 people waiting. It took 50 minutes to get in. I ordered the special ramen and gyoza. When my companion asked for a draft beer, the staff responded rudely, asking where it was written on the menu. We changed the order to a bottled beer. The gyoza had thin skin and was delicious. The ramen arrived about 5 minutes later. The soup was surprisingly light, with no distinctive pork aroma. The noodles were straight and medium-thick. The chashu was thinly sliced with less fat. While it was tasty, I personally don't think it's worth waiting for an hour. I prefer the ramen at the neighboring restaurant, Shinpukusai. The ramen there is addictive, and their fried rice is amazing. It's interesting how a busy restaurant can attract more customers. If you have the chance, it's worth trying out.

I visited a popular ramen shop within walking distance from Kyoto Station for the first time in 40 years. Back then, we didn't have smartphones, so the only information we had was from word of mouth and local magazines. A friend had told me that they serve delicious Chinese soba, so we decided to line up together. This time, we arrived on a weekday at 8:30 am and found ourselves as the 8th person in line. The last person in line had the menu, so we passed it down to the people behind us. It's not like they take your order right away, so you have to remember what you want. The ordering process was a bit complicated, but I made sure not to forget. I ordered the ramen for 850 yen. There were only a few seats at the counter, so we ended up sharing a table with strangers. I don't mind sharing a table, but if you do, it's better to visit with a larger group. A few minutes later, the ramen arrived, and the enticing aroma made my mouth water. When I took a sip of the soup, I was surprised by how salty it was. The taste was good, but I couldn't get over the saltiness. The noodles were cooked perfectly and complemented the soup well. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the soup because it was too salty for my liking. It's difficult to judge taste preferences since what was delicious in the past may not necessarily be the same now. It's not that the soup was bad; I just had set my expectations too high based on memories of eating there with a friend. This restaurant is of high quality. Thank you for the meal.
