I became friends with the owner of the restaurant. When I entered, I felt a strange energy and sure enough, the eccentric owner (80 years old) served me. I thought he might be a little scary, but he turned out to be a really nice person. He recommended the carrot salad, so I ordered it and it was delicious. I'm glad I tried it. The motsunabe (tripe hot pot) had a light soy sauce flavor with just the right amount of fat from the offal melting into it, creating a tasty dish. The food had a subtle and elegant flavor. I will definitely go back, so please stay healthy and wait for me!

The restaurant is run by an 81-year-old boxer grandpa. The flavors are quite strong, but delicious enough to forgive. The carrot salad, which I almost had to order, was surprisingly tasty. Seriously delicious. The yam dish (Yam-kun? Yam-san?) was also really good. Next time, I want to try the tripe hot pot.

For the first time in a while, we had our company's year-end party at "EMON." EMON is a restaurant that we visit at least once a year, and it's known for its delicious motsunabe (tripe hot pot). It is a popular spot recommended by the comedian Kanmuri Takayama, who hails from Fukuoka. There are two locations, one in Sendagaya and the other in Kitaaoyama. The Kitaaoyama location has a cozy atmosphere and a renowned master chef. We opted for the 3-hour course with all-you-can-drink, which included dishes like crispy carrot and scallop salad, homemade "angel liver pate," premium horse sashimi, beef tendon and penne arrabbiata, crunchy lotus root with melted mozzarella cheese, today's beef dish, motsunabe (soy sauce and premium miso bases), and a delicious ramen to finish. The motsu (tripe) here is unlike any other, with a clean and tender texture that even those who don't typically enjoy motsu can appreciate. The ramen at the end was particularly outstanding, with a garlic-infused broth that was incredibly tasty. Every dish, including the signature salad with crispy lotus root, was delicious. The seasoning on the lotus root was perfect for pairing with drinks. The meat dishes were also exceptional this time. It was a delightful experience to return to EMON after a long time. I would love to get some takeout and share it with my family. If you ever crave motsunabe, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

EMON is a cozy izakaya reminiscent of the Showa era, where you can enjoy delicious motsunabe. The master is friendly and we had a great time. A must-try is the "nagaimo-kun" - the best way to enjoy the fluffy nagaimo is with just a little salt. The motsunabe is a must! The best way to end the meal is by having some okayu after savoring the soy sauce flavor. It's within walking distance from Yoyogi Station, so be sure to visit this place.

I visited around 18:00 ☺️ on a weekend night, and when I called just before heading there, they happened to have an opening. The restaurant is not very big, and it seemed to have a lot of regular customers as it was already full around 19:00. I tried the Premium Sesame Miso Nabe, EMON Salad, Zasai, and they were all delicious. However, there are many items missing from the menu and the dishes come out quite slowly. The taste is great, so I think it's okay to order anything, but the slow service might bother some people. Therefore, if you are concerned about that, this place may not be suitable for you.

A classic motsunabe that is very basic and standard. The motsu is not too strong or smelly, making it easy to eat and melts in your mouth. The cabbage and leeks are delicious. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, so I would like to visit again. (It tends to be quite full, so it might be better to call ahead)

In front of Kitasando Station, within walking distance from Yoyogi Station, there is a motsunabe (offal hot pot) restaurant called EMON. The exterior looks a bit old-fashioned, but sometimes these kinds of places turn out to be surprisingly delicious, so I went there with half anxiety and half expectation. Inside, the space is about 10 tatami mats with around 25 seats packed tightly together. As soon as you open the entrance door, you are right at the seating area, so people near the entrance might feel a bit uncomfortable. I was seated towards the back, so it was fine. When I looked at the menu, I was surprised to see that a serving of motsunabe was only 1250 yen, which was very cheap! I ordered the soy sauce flavor and found the soup to be more like consomme than soy sauce, but it was quite tasty. Two servings of motsunabe were not enough for two people, so we also ordered two side dishes: refreshing beef tendon with ponzu sauce and green onion salted tofu. We also added two more servings of miso flavor. The miso flavor was also delicious, not just regular miso taste. However, after eating four servings of motsunabe between two people, I felt sick all day from overeating. If I crave motsunabe again, I will visit this place.

I was invited to this shop in Yoyogi! The owner is an energetic old man who greeted us with a kind smile. The staff working there were also friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The menu had a variety of interesting dishes! The carrot and dried baby sardine salad was packed with ingredients and the dressing was addictive. The burdock and yam tempura was also huge, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The lamb steak with homemade mustard sauce was surprisingly good. The shrimp mayo was a taste of happiness in my mouth. It had been years since I had shrimp mayo and it made me so happy. And then there was the motsu nabe! The homemade soup was gentle and comforting, perfect for multiple servings. After all the vegetables were cooked to perfection, we finished with noodles. Lastly, the apple pie was fluffy, crispy, and served hot with ice cream. It was incredibly delicious. There were other dishes that caught my eye, so I will definitely be back again!

I was in the mood for motsu (offal) on this day, so I headed to a cozy little restaurant called Emon located between Kitasando Station and Yoyogi Station. It had a unique exterior. We arrived around 5 pm and we were the only customers there, haha. A cheerful uncle-like chef prepared the motsu hot pot for us. We started with some side dishes: an all-green salad and crispy lotus root with melted mozzarella cheese. The green salad was really vibrant green. The dressing, which was sesame oil-based, was incredibly tasty and easy to eat, my friend and I were very impressed. The lotus root mozzarella cheese had just the right crunchiness of lotus root and was satisfying. We ordered the motsu hot pot with miso base, flavored with white sesame. It was mild and not too garlicky, which was great because you won't smell like garlic afterwards even if you have plans later. However, I felt that the amount of motsu was a bit lacking. They also make a ramen with the leftover soup at the end, which paired perfectly with the miso base. It was really delicious!
