Yutaka-san is the best for steaks! I went there for my birthday dinner. The appetizer platter was great, and the 150g steak was so filling that I felt like my stomach would burst. But it was tender and delicious. I love their clam chowder soup, I always order it. Since it was my birthday, they brought out a dessert plate for me. Thank you very much. It was a wonderful birthday.

When I became a dinner refugee, Kyoto Yutaka-san was a strong ally. With the increase in foreign visitors to Japan, I thought it might be crowded with foreigners, but there were no customers. Maybe because it was a visit at 8:30 PM? As usual, we started with a dynamic appetizer. The corn soup was delicious, making it feel like you were eating corn. The salad was also delicious. Now, the steak appeared. This time, I ordered 180g. Yutaka-san is known for taking a long time to cook the steak. He usually serves a steak so tender that you don't need teeth, but this time was different. It was a bit tough. I realized once again that cooking meat is difficult. I felt a little disappointed, but I would like to visit again when in need of help in Kyoto.

A townhouse restaurant located one street off Hanami Koji, specializing in steak. While dinner can be pricey, they offer affordable lunch sets such as steak donburi and hamburger sets. This time, I chose the steak donburi. The texture and taste are similar to tuna, and it comes with pickles, rice, and miso soup - a perfect combination!

Steak lovers probably already know this, but for those who don't, I'll mention it. Chef Kawamura from Ginza's "Kawamura" restaurant used to work at Yutaka's. In the past, you could dine at Kawamura's for around 50,000 yen, but now the prices are unimaginable. It's fun to hear from my acquaintance who goes there and tells me the bill each time. It's like a "grown-up play" experience. So, if you want to try Kawamura's, it's probably best to start with Yutaka's first.

I went to "Yutaka," a well-known restaurant in Tokyo. I ordered the steak set and pudding. The Kyoto beef fillet was cooked on an iron plate, but the meat was incredibly smooth and had no greasy taste. I would like to try eating it grilled over charcoal. The amount of onions could be a little less, but it was very delicious. This is the kind of taste that makes you want to eat it as a bento. The pudding was also to my liking. "Gion Yutaka" is a top-notch beef restaurant in Kyoto. The dinner course ranges from 22,000 yen, and if you have alcohol, it's common to spend around 50,000 yen. It has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog, and there is also a branch in Ginza. In 2012, it relocated from the north side to the south side of Gion. The main seating area is a counter facing the kitchen, with a striking red countertop and a beautiful garden. There are also private rooms on the first floor and a tatami room with a stage on the second floor, typical of Gion. Although dinner at this restaurant is quite expensive, the lunch menu offers a "Hamburger Lunch" for 3,300 yen, using the same top-grade domestic black wagyu beef as the evening steaks. I ordered the "Steak Ju," which costs 4,400 yen. The guests on this day all ordered the same dish. The meat is mainly lean with no off-flavors, truly a "drinkable" beef. The fat is not overwhelming, and it goes down smoothly without any unpleasant aftertaste. The rice is elegantly served in a thin layer, which may be insufficient for adult men. However, the taste of the meat was so delicious that it didn't leave room for complaints about portion size. It was a high-level and perfect flavor. It was delicious. In a comparison with a regular beef bowl restaurant serving highballs, the "Steak Ju" at this restaurant is more like a grand cru champagne. With Kyoto's developed beef culture, there are many wonderful beef restaurants such as "Niku no Takumi Miyoshi" and "Hafuu."

Yutaka's specialty is this thick steak! It's cooked slowly to a medium rare level, sealing in the delicious fat and making it really tender. It's a different kind of goodness from oven-baked steak. I like it this way too. I only need about 100g because it's so filling, haha. I also had hamburger, katsu sandwich, and pudding, so I'm beyond full now. I don't think I'll want to eat meat for a while. Haha. They also have lighter options like a steak lunch set, so it's recommended for lunch in Gion. ❤️

A high-end steak restaurant located at the end of Hanami Koji in Kyoto. Just like many dining establishments in Gion, this restaurant exudes elegance from its exterior. [Restaurant] The first floor has around 10 counter seats, which are spacious and offer a clear view of the kitchen. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-maintained. [Dishes] - Assorted appetizers (salmon, sea bream, abalone marinated in vinegar, beef fillet tataki) - Garlic toast - Vegetable salad - Special fillet steak (150g) - Garlic rice (pickles, red miso soup, simmered beef) - Dessert (pudding) The highlight of the meal was definitely the fillet steak. The way the meat was cooked was unique; it was grilled on a bed of garlic on a hot plate. The steak had no burnt marks, was rare but cooked evenly inside. Unlike American-style steak houses like Wolfgang's, this steak was delicate, meticulously cooked, and visually appealing. The texture was incredibly tender, making it easy to savor the delicious meat without any effort. The soy-based sauce complemented the meat well, offering a subtle and refined flavor. Additionally, you could adjust the taste with additional sauce or toppings like lemon, garlic butter, and garlic chips provided on top of the steak. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the meat. While the price might be a bit high for regular dining, this restaurant is a top choice for special occasions or when craving a premium steak experience.

Yutaka Steakhouse in Gion. This was one of the restaurants I dreamed of visiting, but felt the barrier was too high for me to actually go. However, I finally had the opportunity to visit. From the appetizers of abalone and caviar, to the scrambled eggs with white truffle and sea urchin, I was already blown away before even reaching the main course. I never expected to enjoy two of the world's top three delicacies and my favorite abalone and sea urchin even before the main dish! The awaited steak was shown to us before cooking, and it was truly a work of art! (Here are the 150g and 200g options.) It was cooked slowly at low temperatures without any oil. When it came to the steak, I was used to adding sauces and condiments to suit my taste, but at Yutaka, the cooking and seasoning were left entirely to the chef. The thick piece of meat was so tender that it cut easily with a knife, and the seasoning was unlike any other steak I've had before. The garlic flavor was quite strong, but it spread beautifully in my mouth without feeling heavy. It was truly delicious. The red wine I love was chosen by my dining companion, and it paired perfectly with the food, making it a truly happy moment. Thank you very much.

It was the best steak I've ever had in my life! The level of the steak was so different that it was surprising!! After eating here, I might not be satisfied with other teppanyaki or steak houses! The wine selection was also to my liking! On this day, I opened a bottle of Buccella 2013! The combination of delicious wine and the best steak of my life was truly amazing! There is also a Yutaka-san in Ginza, and I hope to visit on a special day! Thank you for the meal! It was a taste that I will never forget in my life!!

The steak restaurant recommended as the best in Kyoto. It is located in the Gion district, surrounded by the traditional atmosphere of Kyoto. The restaurant is housed in a renovated Kyoto townhouse, creating a sophisticated and adult space. I visited for lunch this time, as I had plans for the evening. [Order] ☆Steak Set (4320 yen) It was quite a luxurious lunch option. When the lid was lifted, beautifully colored meat was packed inside! Sauteed onions were placed between the meat and rice. The meat was incredibly tender and delicious. If you find the flavor too light, there is a separate sauce provided for you to adjust to your liking. It was so delicious that it disappeared in no time. I wanted to order another one, but I had other places to visit. If I have the chance, I would like to visit for dinner next time.

Then, garlic toast is served in an interesting combination and order, making the progression smooth. Each dish is tasty. The steak is cooked with garlic, giving it a soft exterior and juicy interior. The mild sauce with garlic and butter aroma pairs well with it. Even though I usually don't like rare steak, I enjoyed it here. Unlike the typical juicy steak, this steak has a unique character. It's not edgy, but delicate, gentle, and perfect for savoring.

When it comes to high-end steak in Kyoto, this is the place to go. Located in Gion Minami, it exudes a Kyoto-like atmosphere and feels like a truly luxurious restaurant. The appetizers such as abalone and salmon are delicious. The wine selection is also quite extensive. As for the steak, it is mainly fillet meat sliced and laid out with plenty of garlic, then slowly cooked. It's more like steaming rather than grilling, so there are no visible grill marks or signs of direct heat (they use an iron griddle, similar to teppanyaki at a hotel). The meat is very tender! The restaurant is very simple, but this simplicity is part of its charm. It is popular among customers from Gion and other entertainment districts. Be prepared for the prices.
