This restaurant has been a familiar spot for a long time due to various reasons. The person who introduced me to this place has my gratitude, but even without that, the cost performance is good. Until 6:00 PM, all-you-can-drink is 480 yen per hour. From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, it's 980 yen per hour. After 7:00 PM... how much was it again? The food menu is also reasonably priced, making it a great place to take a trip back to the Showa era. If you bring a boss in their 40s, 50s, or 60s who appreciates a bit of style, they will surely be pleased.

After a long renovation period, Milk Hall has finally reopened. When I visited, I was surprised to see that both the interior and menu had changed. Personally, I was disappointed that they no longer offer yakitori or kushikatsu, and that the variety of teppanyaki dishes has decreased. However, there are new menu items added, so it's a bit of a mixed bag. The cozy atmosphere at Milk Hall remains as comforting as ever. There's a unique sense of comfort that can only be experienced at Milk Hall.

At the Milk Hall main store in Yoyogi ☺️, I discovered the jukebox for the first time that day. It was placed at the entrance of the shop, and various people put money in to play songs, creating a retro atmosphere ☺️ I recognized about 10% of the songs on the selectable list! It was nostalgic to see "Side A" and "Side B" written on it. The complimentary snack was like old-fashioned candy! There was a wide variety of drinks and food, making it enjoyable ☺️ I had Ramune sour, Oden broth rolled egg, Oden 5-piece assortment, Ham cutlet with plenty of onions, Chijimi (savory pancake), and Modern Yaki, among other things. I also tried various drinks, from the sour drink "Milk Make" that I had in school lunches to interesting cocktails. It was an exciting and fun place that kept me entertained!

Today, I would like to introduce you to Yoyogi Milk Hall, open until 10 pm on December 31st. Located in Shibuya, Tokyo, right in front of Yoyogi Station, this cozy spot offers a variety of delicious dishes at affordable prices. I recently visited with some friends and tried their oden, yakitori, dashimaki tamago, chicken skin, spam, fried tomato skewers, and akatama noodles - all of which were tasty. My personal recommendation would be the oden assortment, with its rich broth that pairs perfectly with both sake and rice. If you're looking for a new spot to try in the Yoyogi area, this is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy the sophisticated and adult atmosphere of this neighborhood, with its trendy shops and chic streets. Check out Yoyogi Milk Hall for a memorable dining experience.

It's been almost 10 years since I made my Milk Hall debut in Sendai. Since then, I finally made my way to the Ebisu store and now the main store in Yoyogi ♡ On this day, I brought my brother from the Seiko-chan generation to this place. We always get lost trying to find it (;´Д`) My brother stopped on the stairs to take a photo, and finally we made it inside the store. Apart from my brother from the Seiko-chan generation, there were mostly young people. Maybe because of the good cost performance? Among the three stores, this one is the smallest, I think. We were guided to a corner at the counter for three people. It was crowded (laugh). I'm worried about COVID, but I felt safe being surrounded by serious-looking young people (just my judgment, haha). Let's hit the highball! I tried to tempt my brother with a grand slam, but it didn't work ( ˘•ω•˘ ).。oஇ I ordered my usual menu items. I got a large portion of french fries. And as always, I finished with the chicken ramen. Despite the few staff members, I was impressed by the amazing service and cooking skills of the staff. My brother didn't seem to want to leave, saying he wanted to come back and stay for hours. Thank you for the meal٩( ¨̮ )۶.

Went out for a second round with a coworker on Friday night! It's great that they stay open late, and the drink menu is interesting! (We couldn't order food due to the time) Also, the 80s music is the best ~ I want to try the food next time.

I stopped by on my way home because I felt like having a quick drink. It was quite busy but there was a seat available at the counter, so I managed to slip in. Since I didn't have much time before the last train and the 30-minute all-you-can-drink deal was a great value, I opted for that. The all-you-can-drink menu included a third-tier beer, so the choices were limited but I had no problem with that as I was drinking shochu. The appetizer was snacks. I don't usually eat them, but for some reason, I ended up snacking on them, haha. For food, I had three types of oden, chicken gizzards with ponzu sauce, grilled chicken thighs, and hearts. They were all decent and easy to munch on. I had about 6 glasses of shochu in total. I ended up drinking more than I thought. Thanks for the meal.

On this day, for some reason, my daughter born in the Heisei era requested to visit a Showa era-themed restaurant. It sounded interesting, so we decided to go. Yoyogi Milk Hall, a company I used to work for until 2010, had an office in Yoyogi, but the restaurant didn't exist back then. I checked and found out that it was established in 2011, just after I left. We visited around 6:30 pm on a Friday, and there were only a few customers at the counter. The highlight was the collection of single records of Showa era singers displayed on the wall. Of course, the background music playing was a constant stream of Showa era classics. Just listening to the songs made the experience quite enjoyable for someone from the Showa era. The food was quite affordable. We actually came here as our second stop of the night. Even though we weren't very hungry, the atmosphere made us crave for something like this. We ordered the Napolitan for 390 yen and the grilled green onions for 150 yen (a special item for that day). The Napolitan was the classic style you would find at a coffee shop and it was delicious. There were also other tempting options on the menu like ham cutlet, sauce yakisoba, and chicken rice. I decided that I would come back next time to try them as our first stop. Thank you for the meal.

I saw this place online and decided to visit with a friend. We went in with a light heart, thinking it looked interesting, but it turned out to be a really fun izakaya! The walls were covered with record jackets of hit songs from the Showa era, and the background music featured artists like Kenji Sawada and Hideki Saijo, as well as Shibugaki Tai and The Checkers. It was so nostalgic. Around the counter, there were toys and old goods that would make Showa era people happy. It must have been quite a task to collect all of these. The otoshi (appetizer) was snacks like boro and potato chips. The food was very cheap, but since we had already eaten dinner, we just ordered cocktails and skewers. The cocktails were around 490 yen. It was cheap to begin with, and the atmosphere was fun and reasonable. If this place was near my house, I might end up going there every month.

Near Yoyogi Station, there is a time slip bar decorated with posters of Showa era idols and record jackets. The interior is filled with nostalgia, with all the background music being Showa Kayo songs. It's guaranteed to bring tears of nostalgia to your eyes. I have visited the Ebisu branch twice before. On this day, I was invited to a gathering with 11 people, including a reviewer from Nagoya. It was more of a regular meet-up with familiar faces rather than a formal gathering. The interior of the bar mostly consists of counter seats, with only two 4-person tables. I don't know who reserved for 11 people here! We squeezed ourselves in and ordered the all-you-can-drink option. The first hour was 500 yen, and then 390 yen for every 30 minutes after that. We nibbled on a variety of dishes, including octopus wieners, curry macaroni salad, Showa-style spaghetti, grilled gizzards with ponzu sauce, assorted tempura skewers, corned beef stir-fry, fried udon, assorted oden, mochi cheese mentaiko (okonomiyaki), and spam steak. We also ordered a lot of other dishes that I can't remember. The loud BGM consisted of songs that everyone over 40 would know. I might be the youngest among the group that day. I remember that the first record I bought was "STAR LIGHT" by Hikaru GENJI. Nowadays, with the ability to download songs, I wonder if people from the upcoming generation will remember the first song they bought. We drank a lot that night, so maybe that's why the dishwashing couldn't keep up. There was some slight dissatisfaction with the slow service of drinks, but the staff were always smiling and provided good service. There is a jukebox where you can play your favorite song for 100 yen. You can forcefully make your favorite song play in the bar, even if the BGM is already playing. Just looking at the decorations can spark interesting conversations. This place is more suitable for a second round rather than the first. It's more about the atmosphere than the deliciousness of the food, but we had a great time. The bill came to around 2700 yen per person, even with the all-you-can-drink option. Such a deal! Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant's name, interior, and atmosphere all have a Showa era (1926-1989) vibe, with record jackets of Showa idols covering the walls. They have a jukebox where you can play actual records, not CDs or downloads. A group of 10 people gathered for an off-meeting, but they had to split into two tables meant for 4-6 people each, causing some surprise. The drink menu offered a 500 yen all-you-can-drink option for the first hour, with subsequent 30-minute extensions costing 390 yen. The food ordered included various dishes like Takowieners, Showa-style spaghetti, and Spam steak, all at affordable prices. Despite the slow service for drinks, the overall bill came out to a very reasonable 2,500 yen per person. Thank you to everyone who joined the gathering.

In the past, there was a lesser-known player named Jimmy Connors in the world of men's tennis, along with Björn Borg and John McEnroe. It was a time when even strong domestic players did not exist. It was still exciting in its own way. Now, get off at Shinjuku Station on the Marunouchi Line, pass by Takashimaya and the NTT Docomo Building, and walk all the way to Yoyogi. I hate transfers. I'd rather walk than transfer! Then, you'll get stuck at the empty railroad crossing near Yoyogi Station. Honestly, we don't need the Saikyo Line! Just stop at Shinjuku! Why isn't the track elevated like the others? It should be elevated, so make it happen! Arrive at the store after all that. Sorry for the outburst earlier. Let's refocus and write a review. On this day, there were 11 people in our large group. We used two 4-seater table seats. There was also a big guy, making it feel like we were on a crowded train. The appetizer was cheap snacks. That's nice. The background music was all about enka songs. "Sexual Violet Number One" and such. That's good, that's good. Sometimes it switches to the jukebox and the sound becomes oddly muffled (lol). The all-you-can-drink option was only 500 yen for 1 hour. So, let's drink. I started with a Kakuhai Highball. Not the usual weak highball, but a strong one. They also had Torys on the menu, but most people will probably order Kakuhai about 80% of the time. Well, it was good at first, but then it became a drinking Connors situation. After ordering, we were left waiting for about 10 minutes (sweat). The guy next to me was about to go on a rampage, haha. Maybe they don't have enough staff? If so, they should limit the number of seats to handle it, or the turnover will suffer. It seems like you have to order one dish per person every hour. I'll leave the food review to other reviewers. I particularly liked the Spam steak I ordered for 580 yen because it had a lot of saltiness. The alcohol was quietly getting to me like Connors. I was close to becoming a McEnroe myself. Thank you to everyone I was with, and thank you to the restaurant even though it was a Connors drinking session. Thank you for the meal. Oh, please refer to the photos for the dishes.

Today, I was invited to a gathering with a large group of people. There were a total of 11 of us, so we sat in a crowded box seat. We ended up splitting into two groups, so I couldn't chat with everyone, but it was fine since we all knew each other. The appetizer was snacks, and someone was diligently taking them out of the bag. As soon as they said, "You won't eat that," I started munching on egg biscuits. "Do you like egg biscuits, Rabi-chan?" "Yes! I love them." "Oh, really?" they said. The menu was always sent to us in advance, so I copied and pasted it. Thank you as always! The menu included octo wieners for 290 yen, curry macaroni salad for 200 yen, Showa-style spaghetti for 390 yen, quickly grilled gizzards with ponzu sauce for 390 yen, a 5-piece assorted skewer plate for 380 yen, corned beef stir-fry on a hot plate for 490 yen, grilled udon noodles for 390 yen, a 5-item oden platter for 380 yen, mochi cheese mentaiko (okonomiyaki) for 390 yen, and spam steak for 580 yen. I like octo wieners and spam steak. Unfortunately, the spaghetti was disappointing, and I didn't eat the grilled udon. The drink service was too slow, and everyone's mood dropped when the drinks were slow even though it was all-you-can-drink. Well, we had fun singing old songs and chatting loudly, so that was good. It was nice to see some followers I hadn't seen in a while and have a lively conversation. When we finished paying, we looked back and saw that everyone else had already left, leaving just the four of us and one other person. Since the bill was 2500 yen per person, we left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

I was invited to Yoyogi Station on the Sobu Line. I arrived 2 minutes late and when I entered, there were so many people! It was an unexpected situation, but I found a seat at the back and we quickly made a toast. This place is a snack and enka music shop, and the food was recommended by a beautiful reviewer (in no particular order) ( ・∇・) Thank you! Takowieners 290 yen Curry macaroni salad 200 yen Showa-style spaghetti 390 yen Grilled gizzard with ponzu sauce 390 yen Assorted deep-fried skewers (5 pieces) 380 yen Corned beef teppanyaki 490 yen Grilled udon noodles 390 yen Oden assortment (5 items) 380 yen Mochi cheese mentaiko (okonomiyaki) 390 yen Spam steak 580 yen When I copied and pasted, I found several dishes that I didn't eat! (*´▽`) Anyway, we drank draft beer and sweet white wine, chatted and had a great time, and before we knew it, it was time to leave. The drinks took a while to be served. Thank you for the meal. The bill was surprisingly cheap! (*´∀`)ビクーリ

[2019.05 Meetup♪] I had a business trip to Tokyo and scheduled a meeting first thing in the morning the next day, so I decided to move the day before in order to have some free time to enjoy without visiting the office, using the excuse of just needing to move to Tokyo. As always, I asked P-san to arrange the meetup, and although I couldn't confirm the attendees, I was relieved to see that almost all familiar members were present. There were also some new faces, making it an enjoyable meetup. Thanks to P-chan as always. The restaurant was called Yoyogi Milk Hall, and it turned out that the name is the same no matter the station, so there's even a "Yoyogi Milk Hall Ebisu Branch." The location was on the 2nd floor of a building right after exiting the west exit of JR Yoyogi Station. The atmosphere was nostalgic with Showa era songs playing and posters of Showa idols. We even had conversations about which idols we liked back in the day. The food was typical izakaya fare, and we enjoyed chatting and drinking. The drinks were a bit slow to arrive later on, and some members at a table behind us were getting visibly upset. It will be interesting to see their reviews. As the night went on, I started feeling quite tipsy, and I may have sounded a bit like Takada Junji at one point (with little substance in my words). It was a fun night, catching up with old friends, and thankfully there were no incidents that would require legal action or settlements. This is just my one-sided recollection of the night. All in all, it was a lively evening!

"I received a message from Rakiten asking, 'Would you like to hang out on the ○○th of this month?' The name of the person I wanted to meet was also mentioned. Even though I've graduated from being the organizer, when it comes to a request from Rakiten, things are different. 'Roger!' I found a perfect restaurant for the occasion, accommodating 10 people, as requested by the Showa era enthusiast. Yoyogi Milk Hall is a place where Showa era songs, especially those of Showa idols, are constantly playing. The interior is filled with memorabilia that Showa enthusiasts would love. When I mentioned the reservation name, we were taken to a booth with two 4-person seating areas, making it a bit cramped for 10 people. To make matters worse, 11 people showed up. I had forgotten to include myself in the count when making the reservation (a common mistake for organizers). The staff offered us a drink-all-you-can option for an additional 500 yen per hour, so we all decided to go for it. We ordered our favorite drinks and raised a toast... Cheers! Wow, the beer tasted amazing! It had been a week since I last had alcohol, so the taste was multiplied by 100. I realized that the taste of beer is directly proportional to the duration of abstinence. I should probably limit myself to drinking once a week from now on to enjoy the best beer. In the nostalgic atmosphere, we enjoyed dishes like Takowieners, Curry Macaroni Salad, Showa-style Napolitan, Grilled Gizzards with Ponzu Sauce, Assorted Tempura, Corned Beef Stir-fry, Fried Udon, Oden Assortment, Rice Cake with Cheese and Cod Roe (Okonomiyaki), and Spam Steak. While listening to Showa idol songs, such as those by Tenchi Mariko, Pink Lady, Kawai Naoko, Ishino Mako, Ogino Yoko, Shonen Tai, Nishiki Hideto, Julie, Matsuda Seiko, Hori Chiemi, and Hayami Yu... everyone's spirits were lifted. We lost track of time in the nostalgic atmosphere. Besides the 500 yen drink-all-you-can deal, the affordable dishes made the total cost per person only 2500 yen. The slow drink service was a common issue with drink-all-you-can deals, but this time it was a bit stressful. However, the most valuable treasure was the fun time spent with the lively group. Rakiten, please contact me again when you visit Tokyo next time."

This is a izakaya located in front of Yoyogi Station that I visited with my partner. I had been to this place once for a year-end party with my colleagues. It is located above Katsuya with a catchy sign that says "Jukebox~", so the location is easy to find. However, the staircase to the second floor may be a bit hard to locate. The interior feels like a retro bar from the Showa era (I haven't been to one, but that's the image I have) and can be a bit surprising for first-time visitors. The main seating is at the counter, with a few table seats scattered around, making the passage feel narrow and cramped. It gives off a vibe similar to Hanbee, but personally, I prefer the cozy hideaway feel of this place. They play nostalgic songs (mostly from before the 70s), and as an old man who knows most of the songs, I found myself humming along and enjoying the atmosphere. The service was mostly handled by young ladies, although there seemed to be some new staff as well. Menu: They offer a wide range of dishes including grilled skewers, deep-fried skewers, oden, salad, fried foods, meals, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, meat dishes, teppanyaki, and various other items. The menu leans towards junk food, with not many healthy options. The prices are quite affordable, which makes choosing dishes enjoyable. There were no fish dishes, and most of the menu consisted of rich, hearty dishes. However, it was nice to see old-fashioned dishes like Showa-style spaghetti, kinako fried bread, and otafuku sauce yakisoba available. Highlights: - Ham Katsu: Thick and satisfying, offering good value for money. - Potato Salad: A small portion but delicious, and surprisingly went well with the sauce. - Fried Bread (kinako): A personal favorite, hot and juicy, always a delight to eat. - Daikon (radish): The flavor was well-infused, a good side dish. - Curry-flavored Potato Fries: Not a regular menu item, but ordered as a donation towards earthquake relief. Tasted like regular curry-flavored fries. Overall, the restaurant gives off a somewhat cluttered vibe, but it's a good place to enjoy a lively drinking session while soaking in the Showa-era ambiance. With mostly counter seats, it could also be a nice spot for solo patrons to relax while listening to old songs. The food is decent, and the affordable prices make it a casual dining option. As a Showa-born individual, I savored the Showa atmosphere while reflecting on the passing of the Heisei era. Thank you for the meal.

I was out drinking and ended up being stranded in town at an odd hour, so I retraced my steps and searched for a place to hang out at the transfer station. In the midst of seeking something more than just alcohol, I came across a place that had a nostalgic vibe, a place that's been getting a lot of buzz lately. Weak to such words, I decided to check it out. They charged a bold 500 yen for the table charge, but it came with a variety of snacks, which was enough to keep me going. The drinks were plentiful and cheap, so I couldn't resist ordering two hit-size chu-hais. Even after drinking quite a bit, the bill wasn't too bad. I also ordered some deep-fried skewers as a snack. The skewers had a nice crunch to them, but the sauce was a bit too much for me - it tasted like a strong cosmetic scent. I quickly switched to soy sauce, and the skewers instantly became delicious. As for music, you could request songs by putting in 100 yen into the jukebox. I decided to play Bowie's "Honky Tonk Crazy". The analog feel of it was really fun and enjoyable. The skewers were decent, nothing special. Overall, I believe you have to think a bit before eating here, but the place is generally interesting, so you could overlook the food quality and just have a good time. They also have a counter where you can sit alone comfortably, making it a good hangout spot. It might also be a good place to take foreign guests who want to experience something playful related to Japanese culture. The service spirit of the girls working there is top-notch, so you're unlikely to feel unwelcome.

Yes. The other day, I went to this place by myself. The interior is packed with various things from the Showa era, it's overwhelming with information! The background music is Toshi-chan. In the midst of all that, I ordered old-fashioned Napolitan, tomato and avocado salad, and chu-hai. As an appetizer, they served me Umaibo and potato chips, just like the good old days. It's a thorough push for the Showa era. And then the dishes arrived. Napolitan. Ah... it does remind me of the ketchup-flavored one I used to eat at department store cafeterias in my childhood. A nostalgic junk food memory. The salad. Such a huge portion. It's too much for one person, really. But the fresh vegetables make for a good drinking companion. I got so full on vegetables that I had to give up on the snacks... When leaving, I received Milk Bolo as a souvenir and the staff bid me farewell with a cheerful "bye-bye!"... Saito Seiroku... (laughs) They really commit to the Showa era theme. It was a fun experience. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the second floor of a building with Katsuya on the first floor, right near Yoyogi Station. As soon as you climb the stairs, you can hear the lively voices from outside the shop, and even at an early hour of the night, the place was already packed with customers. The interior is filled with small items and posters that give off a Showa era vibe, making you feel like you're in a candy store. They serve snacks like nostalgic candy as a starter, and we toasted with a Ramune drink. The highballs and drinks are very affordable, making this a casual and welcoming place! The Napolitan pasta had a good balance without being too acidic, making it a crowd-pleasing dish! Today, the oden was half price, so we also tried five different kinds of oden, making it a satisfying meal!
