Tuna puttanesca with Japanese greens - the balance of textures is perfect, with linguine pasta; a cheese sauce blended with shrimp bisque, served with thick, filling ravioli that you have to taste to understand its exquisite flavor; finishing with a meaty bolognese sauce that is not only delicious but also has a freshness that is unmatched elsewhere. The pasta used is not fettucine or tagliatelle, but a shape that is said to be the oldest in the tagliatelle family, thicker than traditional cut pasta, resembling a chewy texture similar to "kisimen". In addition to the exquisite flavors, the attention to detail in the appetizers, salads, and desserts, as well as the drinks, all for around 4000 yen, make this place a great value. I didn't talk much about the cost, but this place definitely exceeds expectations - I will be coming back every month for sure!

Second visit. I always struggle to get a reservation, but miraculously managed to secure one this time. Every dish was delicate and full of flavor. Of course, the pasta was outstanding! With wine, everything went down smoothly. I sat at the counter and enjoyed chatting with the chef. This is a must-visit restaurant that I want to return to with each season.

Surrounded by mountains, the cuisine of northern Italy includes game meat, river fish from the lake region, butter, cheese, pork products, and dishes made with corn flour. In Kyoto, you can enjoy dishes like slow-cooked grilled ayu, risotto with treviso, and a variety of other delicious courses. The standout dish was the ayu, cooked at 90 degrees for 6 hours, then grilled to perfection, allowing you to eat the bones as well. The flavors were delicate and the vegetable sauce was light. The risotto was also memorable, combining the strong bitterness of treviso with flavorful cheese. The combination brought out the best of both ingredients. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

Visit to a Kyoto townhouse for a leisurely and elegant lunch on 07/04/2023. [Overall Rating] I am rating it out of 5 points. Taste ★★★★★ Presentation ★★★★★ Cost performance ★★★★ Customer service ★★★★ Environment ★★★ I ordered the luxurious Lunch B course with an additional 500 yen. My sister, who accompanied me, cannot eat raw fish, so she requested the carpaccio fish to be changed to ham. Although it was a bit pricey, the dishes were fantastic and well worth the money. The explanations were thorough, and both the presentation and taste were impeccable. We sat at the counter, where we could clearly see the chef at work. His multitasking and efficient movements left my sister and me in awe, exclaiming, "Wow, that's amazing!" The chef was using about four stoves, and we could feel the heat emanating from his intense cooking, creating a unique and memorable dining experience. The only downside was that there were no cold drinks available at the end, only hot ones. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Three types of pasta lunch for ¥3,700 - I informed them that I am pregnant when making the reservation, and they accommodated by heating the pork ham and excluding fresh cheese. They also mentioned that the Bolognese sauce was made with lamb meat, but they kindly changed it for me as I found the taste a bit strong. I couldn't remember the names of the dishes, but here is a brief overview: - Welcome dish: Cheese... (I forgot the name, but it was rich and delicious) - Appetizer: Pork ham insalata with carrot slaw, pickles, burdock in red wine, and grilled shiitake with balsamic sauce. The vegetables had a great texture and were very satisfying and tasty. - Bread: 2 types - Pasta 1: Spaghettini with whitebait and komatsuna, topped with crispy breadcrumbs. The saltiness and crunchiness were just right! - Pasta 2: A pasta dish with pork mince and mizuna rolled in cheese cream, served with baked apple. It was rich and extremely delicious. - Pasta 3: Bolognese pasta with a chewy texture and enjoyable taste. - Dessert: Apple and sweet potato cake with black sugar ice cream. A delicious dessert that wasn't too heavy. - Herbal tea All the dishes were delicious, and the seasoning made me wish I could have a glass of wine if I wasn't pregnant. It was my first time trying this type of pasta, and I was very pleased with the flavors and the consideration shown for my pregnancy. However, considering the cost-performance ratio, it might be more suitable for special occasions like anniversaries.

I made a same-day reservation for a pasta course with three dishes. The third dish was lamb, but it had a noticeable smell which was a bit disappointing. The service was good from the female staff, but the male staff seemed a bit rushed, especially during the payment process. There were no refills for bread. The restaurant was clean, but the taste was average. It's not a place I would necessarily want to visit again.

You can enjoy wonderful Italian cuisine in a quiet atmosphere. I ordered the Fixed Course for ¥9000, which includes appetizer, pasta, main course, and a choice from the dessert menu. The great thing is that you can choose two half-sized options for each course. For the appetizers, I had fresh fish carpaccio with black garlic aioli, and hamon serrano with mascarpone mousse and strawberry compote. The pasta options were spaghetti with shirasu and Japanese lemon peperoncino, and penne with gorgonzola. For the main course, I had Tapenade-flavored fresh fish with new burdock bagna cauda sauce, and roasted duck breast with pepper sauce. Instead of dessert, I opted for the cheese assortment including gorgonzola, taleggio, carborncino, and parmigiano. I also enjoyed an espresso coffee. This course was a luxurious Italian evening with a variety of delicious dishes. It was such a great deal. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

I went for lunch and chose a course where you can enjoy three different types of pasta. It started with an amuse-bouche of saury and daikon, followed by a salad of Spanish Jamon Serrano, one of the world's top three cured hams. The flavors were rich and I felt like I could eat as much as I wanted. The pasta paired perfectly with wine! I forgot to take photos of the first and last pasta dishes, but the first one was spaghetti with sausage and broccoli. The second pasta was homemade smoked sea bream with komatsuna, spinach, and mountain burdock in a cream sauce. The last pasta was flat udon noodles with new onions and sausage. For dessert, there was an apple and corn cake with kiwi gelato to finish. It was a great value with a variety of flavors to enjoy! It had been a while since I last visited, but the flavors seemed to have been upgraded and it was really good!

I am delighted to be able to visit Kyoto during the cherry blossom season ✨ I came to find a delicious lunch at a famous restaurant and enjoyed a course meal paired with wine. The dishes were as follows: - Rabbit and foie gras terrine - Tottori prefecture saury with smoked vegetables - Homemade lamb ham insalata with strawberry and blueberry dressing - Blue seaweed flavored tagliatelle with Chiba prefecture spear squid and cherry shrimp - Fresh fish impadella with tapenade flavor, cauliflower, and saffron sauce - Beef fillet bisteca with Sicilian salt and lime - Today's dessert and coffee It was an Italian cuisine that made good use of fresh ingredients from the mountains and seas of Kyoto. A happy moment in Kyoto with cherry blossoms dancing in the air. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will visit again soon. (^_^)

I was worried if I could finish three types of pasta for lunch at Cucina Italiana, but I easily managed to eat them all as they were different types of pasta. In addition to the pasta, the set also includes an amuse-bouche, salad, dessert, and coffee or tea after the meal. The atmosphere was quiet and nice.

Lunch set menu has three types of pasta and the price is 3400 yen. I ordered a delicious meal, relaxed my impatient heart, slowly swirled my wine glass, and spent a long time looking at the garden. It's quiet and peaceful, the atmosphere is similar to a traditional townhouse, and I feel the same natural flow in my heart. Sitting comfortably in this corner, I finally feel a sense of stability. Ah, I have finally returned to Kyoto. The morning is still filled with the stars of Busan outside, but in a blink of an eye, I am back in Kyoto, finding it difficult to adjust for a moment. The sunlight lingers in the garden during the afternoon, casting long shadows. Time passes quietly and smoothly. At this moment, my mother and I look at each other and smile. The delicious food, the quiet atmosphere of peace, my heart is full and content.

I had lunch in Kyoto. I visited this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. I was able to make a reservation for Sunday lunch two days in advance, which was great. I ordered the pasta course with three types of pasta. The restaurant is in a traditional townhouse, and the interior is kept as it was in the past. We were seated at a table on the second floor. It had snowed the day before, and I found the sound of the melting snow dripping from the roof and falling softly to be quite pleasant. The appetizer was cheese, which was delicious from the start. The pickles had just the right amount of acidity and were very tasty. The first pasta dish was spaghetti with cauliflower and anchovies. The cauliflower was perfectly mixed in, and the breadcrumbs on top added a nice touch. The anchovies had a subtle aroma and were incredibly delicious. I was truly impressed. The second pasta dish was spinach spaetzle. It was my first time hearing about it. It was like small chunky short pasta. The seafood broth had no fishy smell and paired well with the cream sauce, making it incredibly delicious. The third pasta dish was pici all'amatriciana. I've been seeing these thick pasta noodles like udon more often lately. It was al dente and had a strong pasta flavor, making it very tasty. For dessert, we had pudding and brown sugar ice cream. Even the dessert was absolutely delicious. I was completely satisfied. The cost performance of 3700 yen for this meal was amazing. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

【Order】Casual Short Pasta Set【Price】2700 yen【Rating】Located 2 minutes on foot from Maruta-cho Station. Visited during weekend lunch peak hours with a reservation. Sat at the counter seat on the first floor, while the second floor has table seating. The cozy atmosphere of the traditional townhouse was pleasant. Started with a salad appetizer, followed by delicious short pasta (fusilli with tuna and seasonal vegetables in cream sauce), and finished with dessert and coffee. The portion was satisfying beyond expectations. To experience more Northern Italian cuisine, I would like to reserve a course meal for my next visit. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

"On this Saturday, all the lunch spots were fully booked, but luckily there was a cancellation and I was able to get a table! Grateful for that. And being able to enjoy three types of pasta for lunch was such a treat. The restaurant, renovated from a traditional townhouse, had a calm atmosphere that made me lose track of time. Each pasta had a different flavor profile, all rich and flavorful. I ended up feeling full and satisfied. Lunch was a success. I'm curious about going back for dinner, but the satisfaction from lunch was amazing. Choosing a lunch spot in Kyoto is always a tough decision..."

Course A. Original pasta course with three types of pasta at Higashibora. All three pastas were distinctive and delicious. The pasta with sardines had a high salt content but was very tasty. The pasta with basil cream sauce had a great texture and was also delicious. The salad, bread, and dessert were all tasty as well. Overall, it was a very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

The first restaurant I visited in Kyoto after a long time. I had a chef's choice pasta course where I could savor 3 different types of pasta. I asked the staff for details, but I can't remember the names of each pasta, so please imagine from the photos. The course also included an amuse-bouche, salad, dessert, and a drink, but regardless of what was served, the pasta was simply amazing. I thought that it's rare to find such delicious pasta even in Tokyo. Who knows, maybe they have a branch in Tokyo. Anyway, the pasta was excellent!
