Bukkake Udon with Tempura Assortment - Cold, 1,330 yen. Weekdays at 12:30, with a 2-group, 4-person waitlist and full seating, write your name on the board at the entrance, choose your menu from the menu on the barrel, and wait. Follow the instructions obediently. There is no need to line up in a single file; it seems like you just need to be within earshot of the staff's voice. I decided on the cold bukkake udon with a variety of tempura (chicken, fish cake, shrimp, and shiso leaf tempura) over hot or zaru, or with sudachi. I arrived in about 10 minutes, sat at the counter, and despite the freezing cold outside, the warmth inside from the steam of boiling udon quickly dispelled the chill. The dish arrived in about 7 minutes, beautifully presented. The female staff member instructed me to squeeze lemon and pour the sauce, which I obediently did. I personally didn't need the lemon, but the dish was quite light and refreshing. In addition to the 4 types of tempura, there were grated daikon radish, green onions, and chopped seaweed as toppings. The udon, made by the owner who trained in Sanuki, Kagawa, did not have as much chewiness as I expected, but it was smooth on the surface with a bit of chewiness in the core. In Kansai, a softer texture is preferred, so it was a good balance between Sanuki and Kansai styles. It was delicious! Personally, I prefer udon with more chewiness. The bukkake sauce had a strong dashi flavor rather than a soy sauce taste. It was more umami-rich than salty, making it a perfect match for the udon. I ate about a third of the udon before enjoying the tempura. The shiso leaf tempura was crispy and delicious, the chicken tempura was tender and juicy with a nice touch of black pepper in the batter, and the shrimp, although a bit small, was firm and succulent. The most delicious tempura was the fish cake tempura! It had a surprising sweetness and umami flavor, and it was quite large at about 10 centimeters, very satisfying! I then finished by mixing the grated daikon, green onions, and seaweed, enjoying the flavors until the last bite! Although it was a regular size (300g), I devoured it all! At the time of payment, the male staff member asked, "Are you full?" and the female staff member who was outside said, "It's cold today, but was the cold bukkake okay?" The owner even said, "Be careful on your bike ride home." The owner and staff were very friendly and attentive! It's a wonderful restaurant! It may seem like a small gesture, but it's nice to hear those words! A Michelin-recognized restaurant listed in the Tabelog Best 100! I'll definitely revisit for the curry udon next time, as it looked incredibly delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I visited during the early afternoon on a regular day. I waited in line for about 10 minutes before entering the shop. I ordered the most popular dish, "Daikasai Bukkake." The noodles were chewy and had a good texture. They were delicious. The tempura set with chicken, fish cake, shrimp, and shiso leaf was very filling. It was satisfying to eat. The noodles were so tasty that I would like to try a different dish next time. Thank you for the meal. ☺️

Authentic hand-made udon at Okawa. A popular restaurant in Fushimi, Kyoto, awarded Bib Gourmand and selected as one of the top 100 restaurants for 5 consecutive years. The owner trained at the Ikeda Seimenjo in Kagawa before opening this shop. They open at 10:30 am, and only the seats available from 10:30 am can be reserved. We arrived at the restaurant around 10:50 am on a holiday and were able to enter without waiting, but the restaurant was already full with a line forming quickly. I ordered the popular Okawa Mori (bukkake) without checking the price. The Okawa Mori comes with tempura of chicken, shrimp, and fish cake. The udon noodles are flat and have a smooth and chewy texture. You eat it by pouring the sauce and mixing it with grated radish, seaweed, and green onions. The children's dish "Tsukimi" was warm udon. My shrimp tempura was taken by our shrimp lover at home. My wife's curry beef udon also came with rice. The curry has a thick roux, and the beef is a nice touch. The udon was very delicious, but the regular 350g portion was not enough. I guess they boil it before serving. Next time, I will order the extra-large 500g portion.

When I stayed in Kyoto, I stopped by this place for lunch. I arrived around 11:30 on a weekday! There was a parking lot right next to the restaurant, where I could park for 200 yen per hour. Since it was still early after opening, I was able to get in without waiting. The interior had counter seats and about three table seats. There were many different menu options to choose from, so I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up choosing the most popular No.1 and No.2 dishes! ★ Super delicious vegetable tempura set 1780 yen ★ Large mixed tempura bowl 1480 yen ★ Large mixed tempura with sudachi citrus 1480 yen I shared these dishes! The food arrived in about 4-5 minutes after ordering! The vegetable tempura set was incredibly luxurious!! It was packed with large vegetables and came with rice sprinkled with bonito flakes, providing a satisfying meal. The large mixed tempura was also very luxurious, served in a large bowl with big shrimp tempura and fish cake tempura, offering a hearty portion. When I tried the udon, it was very chewy and delicious! The vegetables were incredibly crispy with a great taste, giving a fresh and vibrant feeling. The larger, voluminous vegetables were accompanied by scissors for cutting, which was greatly appreciated. It made it easier to eat and share, which was nice. I thought I would eat lightly, but the portions were so generous that I ended up feeling full! It was so delicious that I would like to go again. Thank you for the meal!

We went to a famous restaurant in Kyoto for lunch on the first day of our club's trip. We arrived just in time around 2 o'clock, and luckily they were still open. We ordered the recommended udon set, which was delicious and very filling. It's true that famous restaurants never disappoint.

I arrived at the restaurant right at 5:50 pm, as it was mentioned as one of the top 100 udon shops. The place was already packed with customers, but I managed to secure a seat at the counter just in time. I ordered the recommended popular dishes, the "Ookawamori" and the "Vegetable Tempura Set". The "Ookawamori" came with shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, squid tempura, and shiso leaf tempura. The "Vegetable Tempura Set" included shiitake mushrooms, okra, eggplant, lotus root, corn, shiso leaf, and anchovy tempura, along with pickles and rice (I declined the rice this time as I didn't think I could finish it). The noodles were freshly made on the spot, without using pre-made udon balls, and were cut and boiled right before serving. The tempura was also fried after ordering. The noodles had a nice chewiness and were easy to eat, with a simple and delicious broth that complemented the noodles and tempura well. The owner was friendly and it was clear that they valued their customers, which added to the pleasant dining experience.

I visited around 7:30 on a weekday night and luckily didn't have to wait. I had tempura udon and Nagoya Cochin egg over rice. The udon was perfectly chewy and smooth, very delicious. The tempura was crispy and hot, also delicious. The Nagoya Cochin egg over rice was also delicious. It was a tasty dinner.

Kyoto City Fushimi Ward, Okawamori - 1530 yen Sudachi grated cold udon with 350g of chicken, shrimp, chikuwa, and shiso tempura. Soft and chewy noodles. Can you drink it?! Udon. The chikuwa is chewy and full of flavor, very delicious. I would have been even happier if the udon had been a little colder. The owner at the register was very friendly, leaving a good impression. I could feel their dedication to quality ingredients. The cold tea was also delicious.

I tried the famous tempura udon with sudachi topping at a well-known restaurant. The noodles were smooth and had a nice texture, but personally, I found them too soft without enough bite. The tempura was fried well and delicious! The service was good too. However, I was surprised by the high price of 200 yen for just half a sudachi. Overall, it was not quite to my liking.

Overall rating 3.8, Food 4.0, Service 4.0, Atmosphere 3.5, Value for money 3.5. I had the Oo-Kasumi Bukkake Udon for 1,430 yen. The udon noodles were soft but still had a nice chew to them. The tempura was crispy and the shrimp and chicken were delicious. I would like to try the warm udon next time to taste the broth. The service was very good, it seemed like they were conscious of providing a good experience at Yamamoto Menekura.

The udon restaurant located between Kintetsu Takeda Station and Keihan Fujimori Station is so popular that even on weekdays there is a line. I visited around 12:30 and waited for about 30 minutes. I ordered the most popular dish, which came with large amounts of shiso leaf, kashiwa (chicken), chikuwa (fish cake), and shrimp tempura. The udon was smooth and very delicious.

I was taken by a friend to try a popular summer limited edition dish called "sudachi udon". The noodles were chewy and delicious! We also had some crispy mochi tempura as a side dish, which I tried for the first time and it was incredibly tasty. We went around 11 o'clock and ended up waiting in line for about an hour. I wouldn't recommend it to people who don't like waiting in line, but even little kids were patiently waiting without complaining, so that's something to consider.

I made a reservation a little before the usual opening time and visited the restaurant. I called in the morning on the day of my visit, as the previous day the restaurant was closed, and was happy to get a reservation. There were many types of udon to choose from, but I decided to go with the recommended udon set. I was very satisfied with the generous serving of tempura. They also gave me some tenkasu to take home, so I'm looking forward to enjoying it there. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Discovered this place on Instagram and decided to visit. Arrived just before 2 pm on a weekday, but it was full so had to wait for about 10 minutes. I ordered the popular A set, which included chilled noodles with dried fish broth, summer vegetable tempura, and mixed rice. The tempura included corn, shishito peppers, green beans, white eggplant, shiso leaf, and zucchini, all of which varied daily. The batter was a bit oily, but the vegetables were delicious and full of flavor. The combination of rich dried fish broth and soft noodles was perfect, no complaints there! The lunch was a bit pricey at 2000 yen on a weekday, but it was so tasty that I was satisfied. However, I couldn't help but notice the head chef's strong attitude towards the staff throughout the meal. I'd like to try the daily special menu next time, so I plan to revisit, hoping to sit at a table rather than the counter.

It's been a while since I visited Oogawa! This shop where they trained at Ikegami Seimenjo! Oogawa Mori, Bukkake, Oomori (for me) Oogawa Mori, Bukkake (for my wife) Oogawa Mori has tempura on top! Oogawa's tempura is the best! It's crispy and not greasy! So delicious! The noodles also have a good texture and I love them! Next time, I want to try Oogawa Mori's Hiyakake (*´﹃`*) Thank you for the meal! \(^o^)/

On a normal day around 12:30 in the afternoon, there are a few people waiting in line. They write their names and the number of people on a waiting list. After about 10 minutes of waiting, they are seated. The dish they order is the meat udon for 1,780 yen, which comes with rice and a soft-boiled egg. The meat used is A5 grade black wagyu beef, and there is plenty of Kujo green onions in the dish. The udon noodles are handmade, with a clear and elegant broth. The noodles are soft and tender, and the broth perfectly complements the flavors of the meat, onions, and noodles. It's clear that there is attention to detail in every aspect of the dish. Overall, it seems to be a rather luxurious udon dish.

No waiting at 11 o'clock. Probably the first in line for the second round, there was a list in front of the store, and cold tea was available. I ordered the "Daigasori Bukkake" with cold noodles, shrimp, and chikuwa tempura on the side. The broth was sweet with a strong bonito flavor. However, it wasn't as crowded as I had expected. You can watch the udon being made right in front of you. Even while waiting for the udon, the smell of the broth was pleasant. There are condiments like yuzu shichimi, yuzu pepper, tempura flakes, and shichimi on the table.

The restaurant opened at 10:50, so I arrived a little before 10:30 and had to write my name on the registration desk outside. They had tea for those waiting outside, which was nice. Since it was hot today, they allowed us to wait inside. When it was time to open, they took our orders. I couldn't resist the unusual vegetable tempura, so I ordered the Early Summer Deluxe Vegetable Tempura Set (regular) for 1,780 yen with a side of hot pot rice for 220 yen. They made the udon noodles right in front of us, and they were delicious. The grated yam mixed with the udon was perfect. The seasonal tempura was piping hot, and the flavors of the ingredients really shined through. The hot pot rice with young corn was also flavorful down to the last bite. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I had the special large serving of sansai udon. It's delicious with just udon and broth. Next time, I might try the extra large serving. It's so tasty, it goes down smoothly. The tempura is a bit heavy, but you get to enjoy delicious vegetables. Today, I had young corn from Aichi.

Around 7:30 pm, I ordered a menu recommended for first-time visitors. It was a large tempura dish! It came with chicken, shrimp, bamboo shoots, and shiso leaves. Even though it was a regular size, it was 350g and crunchy. I will try the large size next time.
