Located about a 2-3 minute walk southeast from the Gion-Shijo Station Exit 3 on the Keihan Main Line. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be guided to a counter seat. Start by moistening your throat with roasted green tea. Here, I enjoyed a delightful breakfast at Kisaki. Served together with a small dish, Kumiage Yuba and Okra. Seasoned with salt and olive oil, topped with wasabi, you can savor the gentle taste of Yuba and the texture of Okra. A bowl of rice and miso soup cooked in a clay pot. You can choose your preferred rice bowl. Begin by tasting a mouthful of the freshly cooked rice to appreciate the sweetness of the rice. The fluffy rice can be refilled. Enjoy the crispy rice with salt. The soup (optional) I chose the pork miso soup with Kyoto white miso this time. It contains pork, deep-fried Kamo eggplant, and green onions. The gentle sweetness of the white miso seeps in. Enjoy the whole dried sardine with the rice. Let's savor it whole. The pickles are cucumber and eggplant shibazuke. It was a great breakfast. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

This day was the first day of a three-day weekend, Saturday. The night before, I had dinner at a Western restaurant, and planned to visit a famous restaurant in Shiga for lunch. When visiting Yanagiya, Itsu-men organized a food tour in Kyoto for us. Since we had a good opportunity, I invited someone to have a nice breakfast in Gion. We went to Asagohan Kishin! It's been about 6 years since my last visit. I made a reservation on TableCheck about a week ago. The reservation time was 7:30, but I completely misunderstood and thought it was 7:45, so I was about 5 minutes late... Sorry m(_ _)m When we arrived at our table, my companion was already drinking Ruby!!! (ΦΘΦ;)!!! They said it was hot, so... haha Below are the dishes in the order they were served. 1. Mukozuke: We had freshly made Yuba from Hanjou, a yuba workshop in Gosho-nan, served with olive oil, salt, and wasabi. It had a gentle flavor and was very delicious! At this point, the rice was ready! The lid of the pot was opened in front of us! We were allowed to choose our favorite teacup. 2. Rice: We could enjoy the rice cooked in a Nabe pot in stages. It had a slightly firm texture. It was delicious! 3. Cucumber and eggplant pickles 4. Rice refill 5. Miso soup with Kyoto white miso: Made with pork, Kamo eggplant, corn, and Kujo green onions. After taking a sip, it was so delicious!? It had a soft taste with nuances like potage soup. It was a luxurious experience that didn't need any side dishes. It was very delicious! 6. Rice refill 7. Dried round sardines: It was incredibly delicious, including a hint of bitterness. I'm glad to be born Japanese. 8. Rice cracker: Finally, we were served a beautifully made rice cracker from the bottom of the pot. It was an elegant senbei. I was completely satisfied and full from the delicious meal! Thank you for the feast!

The breakfast course for 3,300 yen includes one course, but you can add additional items individually. The rice is cooked in a clay pot and is delicious. You can choose from three different kinds of soup. The seasonal clear soup was delicious, especially the mini tomatoes which were very sweet and tasty. It felt like a traditional Japanese breakfast, but for 3,000 yen, I would have expected a bit more side dishes. They also have a YouTube channel, so check it out if you're interested.

This is a restaurant that requires advance payment and reservations are timed. We made a reservation for the 12:45 slot (as it was the only one available) and arrived about 40 minutes early. Other guests with reservations had already arrived, so it seems you can enter a bit early. The counter had empty seats next to each other, so there were no concerns. We ordered the pork miso soup with Kyoto white miso, and also asked for some shredded sansho pepper. The restaurant is known for serving rice cooked in an earthenware pot, so I opted for the egg over rice to fully savor the taste of the rice, including the crispy parts. The appetizer of boiled yuba with salt and wasabi had a good balance of flavors. The pork miso soup was sweet and rich, almost like an Italian soup, and the lean pork meat matched perfectly. Surprisingly, the pork had no greasy taste at all. The process of gradually steaming the rice and experiencing the changing texture and sweetness was quite interesting. You can choose the size and design of the rice bowl, which adds an interesting touch to the service. Even if you choose a large bowl, the rice is served in small portions, so there are no large servings. It's like choosing a partner for your meal based on your bowl preference. Although the atmosphere is not like a hearty set meal, I was quite hungry and ended up having several servings of rice at a good pace, which the staff kindly accommodated. Despite the restaurant's focus on breakfast, I personally felt it was a perfect spot for lunch the day after enjoying delicious wine and Italian cuisine in Kyoto. I look forward to visiting again during lunchtime.

- Visit time: around 7:30 on a holiday

- Comments: The pork miso soup was slightly sweet and rich, more like a stew than miso soup. The ingredients were simple, including fried taro, pork, and burdock chips. The black pepper added a nice accent, with a fragrant aroma that came through the nose when drinking the soup. The rice cooked in the clay pot was fluffy, soft, and light. It was entertaining and delicious.

This is a restaurant in Gion, Kyoto where breakfast is served, operating on a reservation-only basis from 7:30 to 4 time slots. I made a reservation for the 7:30 slot and ordered the "Kishin Breakfast" (3,300 yen), which consists of "appetizer" and "rice and soup". There are three options for the soup, and additional a la carte items are available. The first dish served was the appetizer "Kumiage Yuba", which had a rich soybean flavor with the fragrance of olive oil and the kick of wasabi, enhanced by the sprinkled coarse salt. Next, the "White Rice Cooked in a Pot" was served - the first portion is slightly undercooked with a moist surface and a strong aroma of white rice. The fully cooked rice is firm with less moisture but a pronounced sweetness. The "Kyoto White Miso Pork Soup" had a rich, slightly sweet white miso base with flavorful pork and crispy fried potatoes and burdock adding depth. The freshly grilled "Dried Round Sardine" was thick and full of the natural deliciousness of sardines, even the bitterness in the belly part added to the umami. The "Free-range Specialty Egg" (390 yen) was an additional item, with just the yolk of Yamada Farm's egg on rice, drizzled with a little soy sauce for a delicious tamago kake gohan. Breaking the yolk with chopsticks without mixing it too much allows you to enjoy the richness and flavor of the egg. Lastly, "Okoge" was served - a crispy rice snack sprinkled with salt, providing a satisfying end to the meal. Although the breakfast is pricey, I had no complaints about the food or service, and thought that indulging in such a luxurious breakfast once in a while is a good thing.

I had breakfast in Kyoto. It is recommended to make a reservation well in advance as it tends to get fully booked online. I added an egg to the 2970 yen breakfast, and chose white miso pork soup as the soup dish. I enjoyed fresh yuba with olive oil and salt. The rice is cooked in a way that it changes in taste as it steams. Although the portion size of the rice is small, you can have multiple servings. I also had egg over rice during the meal. It is a simple breakfast but the delicious rice with attention to detail filled me up.

I felt like I was having a blissful time enjoying a simple and Kyoto-style breakfast that was carefully made one by one. Having a leisurely breakfast is the perfect start to enhance sightseeing in Kyoto, especially with the delicious white miso pork soup. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop located in a corner of Hanami Koji. Breakfast is famous and requires advance reservation. The freshly cooked rice is served gradually in a teacup for you to taste the difference from the core state before steaming to the steamed state. You can have seconds too. The rice was shiny and delicious. They use Tsuyahime rice. The white miso pork soup was also too delicious. It had plenty of ingredients. It's difficult to go in the morning, but if I have the chance, I would definitely like to go again.

Morning meal at Kiko-san for the third time. No matter how many times I come, it's always delicious. I'm really interested in the seasonal soup, but I always end up choosing the pork miso soup... On this day, I also added roasted seaweed and shredded mountain pepper. This is one of the must-visit restaurants every time I come to Kyoto ☆

It's been 5 years since my last visit, but I had breakfast here again, this time in the 11 o'clock hour. I love the pork miso soup with Kyoto white miso, so I made a reservation. Having a satisfying breakfast here gives me a sense of fulfillment. When in Kyoto, I believe it's a waste to have breakfast at the hotel, so I opted for a plan without breakfast included. The base course is 2,900 yen and you can choose a main dish like pork soup. I forgot to take a picture, but it also came with grilled fish. I added extras like shredded mountain pepper, olive kelp, and fried sweet potatoes for about 4,000 yen. I think the quality here is higher than most hotel breakfasts. Enjoy a refreshing morning in Gion.

You can enjoy the rice cooked from fluffy to crispy 4-5 times, with a Zen mindset towards food, as mentioned in the menu. In a spacious and clean shared kitchen, I indulged in a meal consisting of olive oil-dressed drawn hot water tofu, miso soup with Kyoto daikon and carrot, and charcoal-grilled whole dried urume iwashi, all served with plenty of freshly cooked white rice in an earthen pot. I also ordered extra eggs and seaweed to enjoy the delicious white rice to my heart's content. The menu structure is very similar to Kusakui Nakahigashi near Ginkakuji Temple, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was advised by Nakahigashi's son. The grilled vegetable flower served with the white miso soup had a lovely aroma and left a lasting impression. It was a satisfying experience of enjoying a casual and healthy version of a traditional meal from a ryokan.

The freshly cooked rice is really delicious. For breakfast, the appetizer of yuba was not available today, so we had sesame tofu instead. There are three choices for the soup, and this time I just ordered the vegetable sumashi soup, while everyone else had tonjiru. The sumashi soup is delicious, and the seafood tomato soup is also tasty, so I recommend trying them. The raw egg for egg over rice is also recommended. Even those who didn't order it at first ended up adding it after seeing others enjoying it. The young female chefs work efficiently and attentively, and it's a joy to enjoy delicious food while watching them work diligently.
