Convenient Doutor near Shinjuku Station. This Doutor is located along the Koshu Kaido in Shinjuku. The store is close to the station, making it easy to access, so I use it quite often. The only downside of this store is that the smoking area is only separated from the non-smoking area by a partition, so the non-smoking area can also be smoky. Recommended for those who are not bothered by smoke. You can enter from either the main street side of Koshu Kaido or the side street called Aoi Dori. Personally, I find it more relaxing and easy to enter from Aoi Dori (although it is the smoking area, so you immediately smell cigarette smoke upon entering). This time, I entered from the Aoi Dori side as shown in the picture. There is a step here, so those with mobility issues may find it better to enter from the main street side of Koshu Kaido. The interior of the store is long and narrow, with mainly counter seats for one person. There seem to be 60 seats in total, but the area near the counter is particularly narrow. As you move towards the center of the store, there is a space with tables for two people. The arch-shaped ceiling is a unique and stylish feature. However, the walls in some places show signs of wear, with peeling paint and dark spots. Other than that, it is a typical Doutor and easy to use.
A casual store that is easy to enter even if you are alone. Not separated by smoking and non-smoking areas, so if you are sensitive to smoke, be careful! The interior is lively with chatty ladies, young students, solo older gentlemen, etc. It is somewhat busy, but there are also people quietly reading books. And there always seems to be someone smoking. Perhaps due to the fact that the smoking area occupies more seats (32) than the non-smoking area, it seems to be a place that smokers appreciate. There are also people who seem to be sound asleep, but is this okay...? In any case, it is a store with an atmosphere where you can easily enter even if you are alone. This time, I sat at the counter seat next to the register counter. The table here also has some peeling, but it is spacious and convenient with a bag storage space underneath. There was information about free Wi-Fi without encryption on the counter seat. It's convenient as you can connect immediately by pressing "Agree to the terms".
Enjoy tea without hesitation at a reasonable price, which is the charm of Doutor. This time, I ordered a hot cappuccino for ¥275 (including tax) for dine-in. They serve it immediately after ordering at the register counter. The price is not high, so I like that I can drink it without feeling too guilty about being too extravagant. It's rich and slightly sweet. I like the extra touch of sprinkling powder on top. By 2 pm, the place was almost full with more people coming in. It seems quite popular probably because it's close to the station.
【A little break】An unusual Doutor logo? Near the door on the side of Aoi Dori, there is a small Doutor logo (?) for some reason. This type is the first time I've seen it. It looked somewhat stylish.
