You can enjoy Hakata cuisine without going to Hakata at this restaurant. It is the only place in Hakata where you can taste the authentic okiuto from the now rare Hata Takuzo Shoten. The proprietress is friendly and efficient, with a charming Hakata beauty. This is a must-visit restaurant for those from Hakata.

Visited with 4 work colleagues on a Monday. At 6:30 pm, the restaurant was almost full! We were guided to a private room with a sunken kotatsu table at the back. Salad and simmered dish were already set up. We started with a toast with beer. Soon after, fresh spear squid sashimi arrived, which we enjoyed with sweet soy sauce from Kyushu. The tentacles and head were grilled and served to us. Grilled local chicken was small in portion but delicious with yuzu pepper. We had 5 skewers: curry-flavored meat and green pepper, miso dengaku with wheat gluten, meat-wrapped long asparagus, and quail egg on konjac. I preferred the meat skewers. Then came the hot pot with chicken. We first had a bowl of soup, then added vegetables and meatballs to the pot. The large-cut cabbage became soft and tasty. The meatballs and mushrooms were also delicious. We enjoyed all of this with Japanese sake and beer. To finish, we chose between champon or zosui and went with zosui. Thank you for the meal!

We attended a year-end party with 6 old friends at a Hakata cuisine restaurant located just 30 seconds from the Roppongi intersection. This time we opted for a course with all-you-can-drink for 5,500 yen. We started with a toast with beer. The first dishes served were fresh squid sashimi and assorted sashimi. The squid was translucent and sweet, while the sashimi included high-quality fish like alfonsino (ara). Next, we had grilled skewers. The asparagus bacon wrap was delicious, but the highlight was the raw wheat gluten. Its chewy texture and flavor were exceptional. Then came the squid tempura, which was also outstanding. The squid was delicious both raw and cooked. After enjoying hot sweet potato tempura and chawanmushi, it was time for the awaited motsunabe (offal hot pot). The offal was piled high with cabbage and garlic chives. The soy sauce-based soup was a familiar taste for me, being from Fukuoka. The offal was tender and fantastic. We ended the meal with the classic champon noodles and dessert, feeling full and satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal. We will visit again soon.

I went to the restaurant with 17 seniors and juniors from my high school. We ordered a course with all-you-can-drink for 5,000 yen. We started with a toast with beer. The first dish that came out was a sashimi platter. It mainly featured fresh squid sashimi and also included high-quality fish collar (kue). The squid was sweet and delicious. The collar is a fish that is said to be only eaten by sumo wrestlers during the Kyushu tournament season, and it also has a sweet taste. Next, we had grilled chicken and assorted skewers, which were both incredibly delicious. The pork belly in the skewers was of course delicious, but the fresh wheat gluten was chewy and exceptionally tasty. The sweet potato tempura was piping hot and delicious, and the squid tempura was also excellent. After that, dishes like squid shumai and chawanmushi kept coming out in generous portions, making it a very satisfying banquet. Thank you for the meal. I heard they also have dishes like motsunabe and collar hot pot in winter, so I would like to go again.

This is a summer gathering with high school friends, a tradition we have every year. This time, we came here on the recommendation of the organizer. We enjoyed Kyushu-style dishes such as live squid sashimi, thin-cut flounder sashimi, flying fish tempura, black pork shabu-shabu, and Champon noodles for the finale. Instead of shochu, this time we enjoyed rare sake recommended by the knowledgeable hostess, with illustrations of beetles, polar bears, goldfish, and more on the bottles. If you're interested, search for sake and these keywords. The course dishes were perfect for enjoying the sake.

My former boss and his wife visited Japan and we went to a restaurant recommended by a colleague. It's located less than 30 seconds from Roppongi Station Exit 5. They offer course meals with all-you-can-drink options. Despite being over 60 years old, we were delighted by the delicious array of dishes. The restaurant definitely added to the excitement of our gathering.

It's been a while since I visited. It was unusual to see that they were not busy today. The landlady here is knowledgeable about Japanese sake, so you can study various types of sake. I tend to drink too much, though... The appetizers include horse sashimi, raw fish fin, sushi, and mentaiko. The horse sashimi, in particular, is exquisite. The mentaiko is from a brand called "Agootoshi". It's also delicious. I will visit again soon!

We decided to visit this restaurant on a whim because the one we had planned to go to was closed. It is located near the intersection in Roppongi, and we had a great experience here before during a party. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we ordered the motsu nabe course since we heard they had it. The appetizer was crunchy burdock which was delicious. Next, we had a sashimi platter with a surprise addition of Ara fish, also known as a high-quality fish called "kue" here. It was incredibly tasty. Then we enjoyed charcoal-grilled local chicken, skewers (including okra, asparagus wrapped in bacon, and stuffed bell peppers), sweet potato tempura, and all were delicious and refined. We had a chawanmushi before the eagerly awaited motsu nabe. The cabbage and motsu were sweet, and the soup was amazingly flavorful. The champon noodles at the end were also incredibly tasty, and we left the meal feeling completely satisfied. It only cost 5,000 yen for all of this in the middle of Roppongi. What a great deal! We will definitely be going back for more.

Blog: Hangover Meal at Instagram Kyoto-style Grilled Skewers Takemoroku Near the Roppongi Crossing, right next to a tobacco shop, on the third floor of a building is a Kyoto-style grilled skewers restaurant called "Takemoroku," pronounced as "Chikumo." They use mackerel flown in from Yakushima and squid flown in from the Genkai-Nada in Hakata. I stumbled upon this skewers restaurant while wandering around, and it seems like a great find. The restaurant has a counter, a large hall, and two private rooms. I was seated in a private room this time, which was nice for a quiet and relaxed drinking environment!
Menu: The menu features delicious items such as black pork tonkatsu, sweet potato tempura, and grilled local chicken. The recommended dish here is the skewers. I ordered the assorted skewers. The first thing that caught my eye was the sesame mackerel ochazuke. I had a craving for the sesame mackerel I had before, so I negotiated with the staff to see if they could give me some sesame mackerel as a snack. They kindly agreed! The sesame mackerel on top of the ochazuke was a bit heavier than I expected. It might have been better with a stronger saltiness. As a snack, it was delicious. Next was the salt-grilled Satsuma chicken. The chicken was tender and had a rich flavor, likely because it was local chicken. The portion was a bit small, but it was delicious and paired well with beer. The assorted skewers and a la carte skewers. I wondered what was Kyoto-style about them, but they were skewers with plenty of vegetables. The negima skewers had thick and bouncy chicken meat. Among them, the asparagus wrapped in pork belly was incredibly delicious. The soft, not too large asparagus wrapped in flavorful pork belly with a finishing touch of mayonnaise. It was undeniably delicious.
Overall, the skewers were delicious, and the prices were reasonable. I was very satisfied with being able to try various Kyushu dishes. Although I focused on skewers due to the restaurant's name, they also had many delicious Hakata dishes such as raw fish and hot pot. It was a random find, but I discovered a great place. I would like to come back again as it's a casual place to visit!

It is located right near Roppongi intersection. I went there for a drinking party with my colleagues who do business in Russia. It seemed like a Hakata-style restaurant, and I was able to enjoy the dancing eating of shirouo (icefish). Kyushu cuisine is really good after all. I don't often drink in Roppongi, so it was a good experience.
