I had been interested in this restaurant for a while. When I went there after lunch around 1 pm, two groups were sharing tables. Another group was considering their order in front of the showcase. As I was peeking, a staff member came over and said they thought a table would be available soon. They suggested I could wait on the bench in front, and they would guide me inside once a table was ready. So, I decided to wait outside for a bit. Around 3:30 pm, I tried again and was able to get in. There was already one group of customers inside. The restaurant mainly had a sharing table style, accommodating up to three groups together. After us, a group of three also decided to share a table. I was tempted by the Japanese chestnut cheesecake, New York cheesecake, and lemon tart, but I ended up choosing the moist Japanese chestnut cheesecake. It was incredibly delicious! And the price was very reasonable, in the 400 yen range (if I remember correctly), for a portion that size. The drinks were also generously served. The plates and cups were super cute, each person getting a different cup to avoid confusion at the shared table, which I found thoughtful. The cups at the back were from Marimekko, and I couldn't help but admire their cute patterns. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy despite the limited space. I would love to go back again. The only downside was that the air conditioning didn't seem to be working well, so it was a bit warm inside.

I wanted to eat ice cream and cake, so I went to Pony Pony Hungry... I'm really happy that a bakery mainly serving baked goods also offers ice cream. The perfect combination of baked goods and ice cream can be enjoyed on the spot. Although the eat-in area is small, the cozy atmosphere allows you to relax and enjoy your sweets. Ume Victoria Cake: A moist cake with a layer of plum jam sprinkled with sugar on top. The delicate texture of the cake and the fruity jam create a warm and gentle flavor. Everything about this cake is warm and kind, without any strong flavors, allowing you to fully appreciate the taste of the ingredients. Ice Cream [Epice]: The ice cream made with several spices has a rich and deep flavor that is different from regular spice ice cream. I always order spice ice cream whenever I find it, but the ice cream here surpasses even specialty shops in deliciousness. Black Sesame Chocolate: The black sesame enhances the depth of the chocolate, creating a unique chocolate ice cream. This shop not only excels in baked goods but also in ice cream, making it a place where you can feel completely happy and satisfied.

I visited with the intention of getting takeout, but ended up eating in. It was close to closing time, but they still had a variety of options available, which was nice. The interior of the shop is cute, but there is only one table, so when there are other customers, it can feel a bit crowded and not very relaxing. The cookies were delicious.

After having lunch around the park, I visited this small café that I had been wanting to try for a while. It was a tiny place where up to four people could sit, but luckily we were able to get in. I tried the S'mores, Carrot Cake, and Iced Latte. The S'mores was a new experience for me, with the chocolate adding a nice touch and the sweetness just right. The Carrot Cake expanded my concept of what Carrot Cake could be, and the Latte with a strong espresso flavor made for a happy time. Lemon pie for ¥495 (eat-in). This lemon pie is a limited-time and irregular item. I missed it last year, so I was happy to finally encounter it this year. The lemon curd on top is not too thick, with a creamy texture, and the meringue is not too sweet, allowing the lemon flavor to shine through. It's not overly sour, but has a subtle tanginess. The base is not a traditional pie crust, but more of a tart crust, with a moist bottom layer. It's not very crispy like a typical pie crust, but the tart part has a slight crunch to it.

A trendy pastry shop near Ohori Park with American-style sweets displayed in the showcase. There are only 4 seats for eating in, with two pairs of girls sharing tables. A lone man looks stern. The pastries all look delicious, despite their brownish appearance. There are cheesecakes, s'mores, berry bars, and scones. I got some to go and tried the s'more for the first time, and it was a perfect combination of marshmallow and cookie. Everything else was delicious too. Next time, I want to try the tarte tatin and carrot cake.

The decorations of a snowman and a tree were adorable 😊 The Christmas cake consisted of graham sablé with chocolate mousse and baked marshmallow. Graham sablé is a type of coarsely ground wheat flour. The rich chocolate mousse paired perfectly with the fluffy and light graham sablé, and the sweet and chewy marshmallow. Chestnut cheesecake for ¥450. The cheesecake part had a strong chestnut flavor, which was delicious! There were whole chestnuts at the bottom, which was also good. It was really tasty. It would be even better if it was more creamy, but it was already smooth and had a great taste! Black sesame chocolate bar for ¥330. It had a strong sesame flavor, which was delicious! The chocolate was on the sweet side. You might not be able to eat a lot of it, but the crispy crust at the bottom was really good. If they added caramel nuts to it, it would definitely be amazing.

The store seems to be full with just one group. When I arrived before 4 PM, there was a line forming from behind. There were 3 staff members, with 2 of them serving customers. The staff members were cute and fluffy, and I was so hungry that I kept taking photos before eating. I bought canelé, nashi pear cheesecake, chocolate scone, financier, and s'more canelé. The canelé was harder than I expected, with a soft inside that provided a satisfying texture. The financier was moist, and the s'more canelé was unique and delicious, although it tended to crumble easily. Overall, everything was tasty, but I didn't take photos because I started eating right away.

On 2022/09/03 (Saturday) at 14:30, I had ramen at Tanaka Soba Shop and was planning to go to Shinsaibashi, but then I heard thunder and it started raining lightly. I made a U-turn. On the way back, I remembered a pastry shop where I was stood up last week and decided to visit. It was also filled with couples and groups of girls. I was the only one dining alone. Unfortunately, the cheesecake was sold out, so I had financiers, carrot sponge cake, and a cream-filled tart. It was too sweet.

I had ice cream and lemon cake! The ice cream flavors were guava and spices. Guava is not something you see often and it was delicious! I love guava! And the spices! It's a trendy flavor that I really like! This ice cream makes me want to come back for more. The cone was crunchy. The cake was also delicious, even though I was already full. The icing was sweet and the cake itself was moist and refreshing. The seating is limited but if you time it right, you can relax in the shop. I went around 2 pm on a weekday and the place was constantly busy with people coming in and out!

I explored the area around Higobashi and visited the cute shop "Pony Pony Hungry." The shop is filled with a sweet aroma. They have a variety of baked goods in the showcase, and I was lucky with the timing! However, since I was already full from lunch and had bought some bread, I only got the cheesecake this time. Pony Pony Ice Cream is a place I've been wanting to visit for a long time, but it was closed on my previous attempts or they were sold out. Finally, on my third try, I was able to go! I had the ice cream (Lemon Curd and Salt Milk) for ¥715. I've always wanted to try this ice cream, and I chose my favorite flavors, lemon and salt milk. The salt milk flavor was amazing! I was expecting a subtle saltiness, but it was actually quite salty and I loved it! The balance between the milk and salt was perfect. If you like salted caramel or salted chocolate, you'll probably enjoy this flavor. I also tried the Lemon Curd, which was delicious too! It was refreshing, although I personally would have liked a bit more lemon tang. Maybe the strong salt milk flavor overpowered the lemon taste. I want to go back next time for their baked goods! ✌︎︎

When you go west from Higo Bridge, you will find this shop. I discovered it while strolling around during my lunch break. It was a weekday, so I could take my time looking around. I chose the financiers with cocoa nibs, rum raisins, and banana blondie. The chocolate financier with cocoa nibs was not too sweet, and the cocoa nibs added a nice texture. It's a perfect treat to enjoy with coffee. The rum raisin financier had a sophisticated flavor and was delicious. On the other hand, the banana blondie was quite sweet, almost like a wake-up call the next morning. These baked goods would make great little gifts. Thank you for the delicious treats!

The interior, with brick walls, wooden window frames, and simple wooden showcases, perfectly matches the image of the place. The majority of the space is taken up by the kitchen, with a small café area by the door. Although it seems more like a hotel lobby, it still offers Mel Coffee Roasters' coffee. I couldn't resist stopping by, even though I was full from shaved ice. I ended up buying a sweet potato tart and a brownie or chocolate cake, as the selection was limited in the late afternoon. I love sweet potato desserts, so I was glad to find them here. The tart, simple in appearance, had a hint of marmalade that added a subtle bitterness to the moist filling, giving it a homemade touch. While there are many appealing bakeries focusing on American-style sweets, Pony Pony Hungry offers a variety of pastries like pies, tarts, and pound cakes that I enjoy. I look forward to trying more of their treats next time when there are more options available.

It's been several years since my last visit. The last time was during the premiere of Billy Elliot. It's been four years already. Even after four years, the selection here is still enchanting. Just like last time, I choose items that are safe to carry around. I tried the cheesecake with Japanese chestnuts, financiers, and sweet potato pound cake. The cheesecake was delicious. I remember liking the cheesecake last time too. I really love this place.

I finally got to visit PONY PONY HUNGRY, a bakery I've always wanted to go to! They supply baked goods to various cafes like aoma coffee in Honmachi and NITO Coffee in Kita-Shinchi. I visited around 1:30 pm on a Wednesday. The place was busy with both dine-in and take-out customers, showing how popular it is. They offer 15-20 types of baked goods at all times. I had a carrot cake and a s'more, recommended by the staff, along with an iced latte. The carrot cake was delicious with lots of raisins and walnuts, and the frosting was cute. The s'more, made with whole wheat cookie, roasted marshmallow, and chocolate, was surprisingly not too sweet. The cookie was especially tasty. I'd love to try all their baked goods someday, as they change their lineup slightly every day. They also sell gelato in the summer!

As I walked up to the raised seating area and opened the glass door, I was greeted by a display case filled with delicious baked goods! When I asked the staff for recommendations, they suggested the NY cheesecake and s'mores. I decided to order the recommended s'mores, matcha pound cake, and a small chai tea. The chai tea had a rich flavor of cinnamon and milk that exceeded its price point. But the real surprise was the s'mores with roasted marshmallows and chocolate sandwiched between cookies! The staff were also very attentive and even offered to create a custom assortment of baked goods within my budget.
