In 1994, CoCo Ichibanya started its overseas expansion from Hawaii. The full-fledged global expansion began in 2004 with its expansion into Asia. I didn't know that they now have around 200 global locations. I found a place where you can try CoCo Ichibanya's overseas menu all in one spot. I called and confirmed that as long as you order by 10:00 PM, you can still enter. Great! I made it just in time on my bike. The global lineup menu was more extensive than I thought, and each menu item is indicated by the flag of the country where it is served. It's a great way to learn about different countries' flags. With only 5 minutes until last order, I quickly decided on the Chicken Cream Om Curry with a spice level of 5. It came with the standard portion of white rice. I also added the Pork Kimchi topping, influenced by the "self-proclaimed king's" recommendation. I haven't eaten at CoCo Ichibanya many times in my life, so I can't tell the subtle differences well, but the overseas version seems to have a smoother texture without meat pieces in the curry. The creamy omelet is delicious, and the bechamel sauce is tasty. The spice level 5 was manageable. Surprisingly, mixing in the pork kimchi was also delicious. I felt like I became one with the "self-proclaimed king" while enjoying the meal. I initially chose the Chicken Cream, but I slightly regretted not choosing the Four Mushroom Cream. There are many topping options, so you can customize your curry to your liking, which is fun.

I visited the only CoCo Ichibanya in Tokyo and Aichi where you can eat the CoCo Ichibanya menu. I didn't know there was one within walking distance of Tokyo Station... I wanted to eat the omurice curry, but you can't customize it, so I hope they improve that... I ended up having the usual curry and the limited menu potato with cheese. It was delicious!

I visited during lunchtime ^_^ CoCo Ichibanya has its classic menu, but also offers a slightly higher-end line. I tried the Sichuan Mapo Eggplant Curry with Cream Croquette on top! The spicy curry paired well with the sweetness of the cream croquette. It was delicious!

I visited a Japanese curry restaurant that imports curry sauce from overseas. The location is right by Kyobashi Station on the Ginza subway line. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry for 1,210 yen and it was served in about 5 minutes. The curry sauce had a light and smooth texture, different from the usual Japanese style. The dish did not have any additional ingredients due to the overseas style. The pork cutlet was thinly sliced with minimal fat, serving as a complement to the curry. The omelette helped balance out the mild curry flavor, making it enjoyable without getting too heavy. Overall, it was a simple yet delicious curry. The cost performance may not be the best, possibly due to the location, but the simplicity of the dish made it a tasty experience.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I didn't know there was a CoCo Ichibanya in Kyobashi. And it's not just any CoCo Ichibanya, you can enjoy the menu from around the world. One of the features is the omurice that is not on the regular menu. The fluffy egg with spicy curry and creamy smoothness combined to make a very delicious curry.

There is a place called "CoCo Ichi World" in Tokyo's Kyobashi and in Nagoya where you can try the menu from CoCo Ichibanya's overseas stores. It was not too crowded during lunch on a weekday, similar to a regular CoCo Ichibanya. They have a variety of menu items, but the main attraction seems to be the omurice curry. I tried the mushroom cream omurice curry with spinach topping. It was delicious from start to finish. The curry was already tasty as expected from CoCo Ichibanya, and the combination of omurice and curry was great. The cream sauce also paired well with the omurice and curry. The mushrooms were fragrant and the familiar fukujinzuke pickle complemented the dish. It was perfect, especially when paired with a beer.

When it comes to curry chains, everyone thinks of the restaurant "Curry House CoCo Ichibanya." They offer customizable curries where you can choose your favorite toppings, and recently they have started serving spice curries as well. By adding your favorite toppings, the price can become quite expensive, almost like a high-end dish. CoCo Ichibanya is a representative of Japanese curry and has expanded overseas as well. One of their concepts is to import the menu from their overseas stores back to Japan.
One such unique store is "Curry House CoCo Ichibanya World" located in Kyobashi. The atmosphere of this store is completely different from other CoCo Ichibanya stores, resembling a high-end curry restaurant overseas. When CoCo Ichibanya expanded internationally, they introduced the charm of Japanese curry through dishes like "Omurice." The menu at this World store includes a variety of Omurice options.
I ordered the "Mapo Eggplant Tofu Omurice" for 1,200 yen and added "Mac & Cheese" for 280 yen. This dish combines Japanese Omurice, Chinese Mapo, and American Mac & Cheese, creating a worldwide fusion dish. The spicy curry sauce with Sichuan peppercorns pairs perfectly with the rice, eggplant, and tofu. The contrast between the spicy curry and the gentle taste of the fluffy omelette is the highlight of this dish. On top of the omelette, I added the Mac & Cheese topping, which is a sinful and rich American comfort food of macaroni with cheddar cheese sauce.
This dish is a blend of Japanese, rice, Chinese, and American flavors, and it was a satisfying meal without worrying about the calories.

I visited early on a weekday night. When I arrived, the place was empty, but it started filling up during dinner time. The interior of the restaurant was brighter and more cheerful than the regular CoCo Ichibanya, which I liked! I had the Mac and Cheese Omu Curry. The cheese macaroni was delicious. Also, the service from the staff was polite, which made me wish that the regular CoCo Ichibanya in my area was like this. I hope they open more CoCo Ichibanya stores with this kind of atmosphere.

It seems to be a reverse-imported CoCo Ichibanya. They offer menu items that you wouldn't see in other CoCo Ichibanya stores. I had the Mac 'n Cheese Omu Curry. I love mac 'n cheese, so I ordered it without hesitation, but it was a bit questionable whether it went well with curry. The omelette was fluffy and delicious. It was a shame that the rice wasn't tasty. It seemed like it had been cooked for a while. If the timing was better, it should have been even more delicious.

I visited the restaurant on Saturday evening. The place was empty. The spices were flavorful and a bit spicy even without adding extra heat. Since it's a CoCo Ichibanya restaurant, the taste was consistent. The omurice was delicious since you can't have it at CoCo Ichibanya. I would like to visit again when I am in the mood for curry.

I don't live in Tokyo, so whenever I visit, I enjoy planning where to go for curry. This time, I ended up at Coco Ichibanya, which was unexpected. I usually go to the local branch, so I didn't think I would go out of my way to visit in Tokyo. However, after hearing about the unique overseas menu available only in Japan and how delicious it was at a curry party the night before, I found myself at the restaurant the next day. The store looked completely different from the familiar suburban branch I usually go to. I made sure to walk in casually so as not to stand out as a country bumpkin. The 4 types of mushroom cream omelette curry that was highly recommended didn't appeal to me because I'm not a fan of mushrooms, so I chose the "Mapo Eggplant Tofu Curry (with white rice) + extra spicy with pork kimchi topping" after contemplating other options. I love both mapo eggplant and mapo tofu, so having both in one dish was a pleasant surprise. When the curry arrived, I was shocked! It had a strong numbing sensation from the Sichuan pepper. The pork kimchi was also delicious, and I finished the meal with a satisfying sweat. I especially hope that the Mapo Curry will be available in all domestic stores. Since there aren't many overseas menu options, I would like to visit again when new items are added.

Hello. I am the self-proclaimed Curry King. (Recap) CoCo Ichibanya has elevated curry rice to the status of a national dish in Japan. With over 30 years of expansion, they now have over 200 stores worldwide spreading Japanese curry culture. In 2020, they even entered India, the birthplace of curry rice, and their popularity continues to grow globally. The only place in Japan where you can try CoCo Ichibanya's international menu is the newly opened "CURRY HOUSE CoCoICHIBANYA WORLD" near Tokyo Station. The signature dish is the 4 Mushroom Cream Omurice Curry with Pork Kimchi topping. The unique curry sauce and variety of dishes have made CoCo Ichibanya popular overseas. The creamy omurice with mushrooms, spicy pork kimchi, and mild curry flavor make for a surprisingly delicious combination. It's a must-try for curry lovers.

Tonight, I went to "CURRY HOUSE CoCoICHIBANYA WORLD" in Kyobashi. It's a rare restaurant where you can try CoCoIchi's international menu. It's quite a stylish place. It was almost empty, probably because it was a weekday night. I had the "Mac and Cheese Omu Curry," which is curry topped with macaroni and cheese. It was delicious!

There is a shop located on the basement floor of "Kyobashi Edogrand," directly connected to Kyobashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. This day, I had a rare opportunity to work near Kyobashi Station, so I stopped by after finishing work. The shop is based on the concept of "CoCo ICHIBANYA with world standards" imported back to Tokyo Kyobashi, offering a menu of dishes served at overseas stores. The terrace seats and colorful furnishings inside the shop are truly one-of-a-kind. I tried one of the world menu items, the Pork Kimchi Curry (tax included 930 yen). The price aside, the difference from the regular CoCo ICHIBANYA is that the standard rice portion is 250g. After ordering on the touch panel, the dish was served after a short wait. This menu item is quite delicious. The perfect spiciness of the pork kimchi adds to the pork curry, making it tasty. The combination of curry and Chinese cabbage is not commonly heard of, but the texture is also great. The Fukujinzuke remains the same. While the taste of the CoCo ICHIBANYA curry itself is not different due to the "reverse import," it's worth considering enjoying the atmosphere and menu options. Thank you for the meal!

Today is Saturday. I decided to visit this place alone around 1:30 pm to have a late lunch, which I had been curious about for about a month. This shop opened in October 2022, and unlike the usual CoCo Ichibanya in Japan, it sells the exact taste of CoCo Ichibanya sold overseas. It is the first store of its kind. The shop has a bright and distinctive appearance, located in the business district and directly connected to the Ginza Line Kyobashi Station ticket gate at Kyobashi Edogrande B1. The atmosphere inside the spacious shop was relaxed, with fewer people, perhaps because it was Saturday or because it was past the lunch peak hours. The customers on this day seemed to be elderly couples, groups of elderly people, foreign customers, and foreign couples. The shop's design was meticulous and they provided friendly service to foreign customers, which was appreciated. The recommended dish is the omurice curry, but I decided to save that for next time. I ordered the mapo eggplant curry with clam toppings and changed the rice to mixed grain rice using the tablet on the table. The spiciness level was 1. The total was ¥1,200. The dish arrived in a few minutes after ordering. I took a spoonful and thought it was delicious. It seemed slightly spicier than the usual level 1 spiciness in Japan. The clams added a nice touch, enhancing the mapo flavor, creating a deep and delicious taste. The plate design was similar to the ones in Japan but different upon closer inspection. I wonder what the base for the usual CoCo Ichibanya curry is made of compared to this one. Nevertheless, this new version was interesting and tasty. It's intriguing to see how this top curry chain's reverse landing and the significance of opening the first store in Tokyo Kyobashi will play out in the future. As a CoCo Ichibanya fan and a shareholder since the Jasdaq market era, I was keenly interested in visiting this shop, so I left the shop feeling satisfied. Today's payment was made with two yellow shareholder benefit vouchers and two 100 yen coins. Next time, I definitely want to try the omurice curry with cheese toppings and explore the variety of flavors and options. Thank you for the meal.

Every time I passed by, I was curious about this shop. I didn't know that I could enjoy popular overseas menus, so I entered without knowing what to expect. The colorful and bright interior caught my attention. It was my first visit and I struggled to decide what to order. After much contemplation, I decided to try the "Chicken Cream Om Curry" instead of the regular curry. It was delicious, but I'm not sure if I would come back again soon. Thank you for the meal.

I was drawn to the 4 kinds of mushroom chicken curry doria from CoCo Ichibanya World, and decided to visit the Curry House CoCo Ichibanya World Kyobashi Edogrand store. The Kyobashi Edogrand store is based on the concept of "reverse import of overseas CoCo Ichibanya", offering overseas menus for the first time in Japan. As a Japanese curry specialty store loved in many countries, it allows you to experience the world of CoCo Ichibanya while in Japan. The menu is completely different from the CoCo Ichibanya in Japan, with curry being the only common point. While the omu curry is popular, I was in the mood for doria, so I chose the 4 kinds of mushroom chicken curry doria. The curry was mildly sweet yet flavorful, and the texture of the mushrooms and chicken combined well. It was my first time trying fukujinzuke with curry doria, and it paired so well that I felt it was even better than curry. Although the prices may be higher than expected from CoCo Ichibanya, I would visit again if given the chance. Cashless payment is available.

Visited a curry restaurant that opened on the basement floor of "Kyobashi Edogran" on October 11, 2022 for a weekend lunch. The interior was beautiful, with plenty of seating, and the staff were very friendly. Orders were made using a tablet. It had been about 10 years since I last visited CoCo ICHI, and the curry seemed different from the standard CoCo ICHI in Japan, but I was looking forward to it. While the regular curry menu was extensive, I decided to try the recommended Mushroom Cream Omelette Curry for ¥1,200, with a topping of my favorite Handmade Pork Cutlet for an additional ¥500. It arrived in about 10 minutes, and the combination of mildly spicy curry with a creamy omelette was undeniably delicious. The pork cutlet, with a light and crispy coating, was also very good. I would like to visit a regular CoCo ICHI next time. Thank you for the meal!

CoCo Ichibanya's new concept store opened on October 11th in Kyobashi. This CoCo Ichibanya is the first store in Japan to offer overseas menus, with the concept of "reverse importing CoCo Ichibanya from overseas". You can experience the world of CoCo Ichibanya, a Japanese curry specialty store loved in many countries, without leaving Japan. The store offers various toppings like the popular Omurice curry, which makes you wonder if this is really CoCo Ichibanya!? The store has a casual restaurant vibe that is popular overseas, and you can enjoy a different atmosphere from the usual CoCo Ichibanya. The biggest difference between the menus in Japan and overseas is the curry sauce. They offer a sauce specifically made for overseas stores, which does not use meat-derived ingredients. The location is about a 2-minute walk from Kyobashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, or about a 10-minute walk from the Yaesu side exit of Tokyo Station. The store is open from 11:00 to 22:30 (last order at 22:00). I visited around 1:00 PM alone and was seated at a table for one of the 35 seats. Orders are taken via tablet. The specialty is the Omurice curry, with options like Chicken Cream Omurice, 4 Mushroom Cream Omurice, and Hashed Beef Omurice. Other popular curry options are also available for 770 to 1,060 yen. I ordered the Chicken Cream Omurice for 1,200 yen, choosing the standard sauce, white rice, and medium spiciness. The portion size was normal at 200g. I also ordered the Handmade Tonkatsu topping for 500 yen, which took more than 20 minutes to be served. The presentation was appealing, and the curry was delicious, with a creamy omelet rice twist. The Handmade Tonkatsu was exceptionally tasty, with a crispy coating and flavorful meat that paired well with the curry. The generous portion left me feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

CoCo Ichibanya, which is expanding worldwide, has opened in Kyobashi! I went there right away. The menu is slightly different from the ones in Japan, with the main focus being on omurice curry. The way of ordering is also slightly different, so it can be confusing at times, but it's all part of the experience. The curry sauce tasted a bit sweet, but it complemented the omurice well. Overall, the food was delicious, but when you think of it as CoCo Ichibanya, the prices may feel a bit high. Personally, I look for fun, casual, and cost-effective restaurants when choosing where to eat. Please keep in mind that my reviews are just simple notes to myself, as I lack writing skills. I feel embarrassed to take photos of the food, so please refer to other sources for pictures. I enjoy udon shops, izakayas, and family restaurants, so if you have any good recommendations, please let me know.
