I went to a seafood izakaya in Haruyoshi, with white paper lanterns and noren as the landmark. The restaurant had a traditional Japanese wooden exterior. They opened at 6 pm, and even though I had a reservation, I was the first one there. I was seated at the counter, right in front of the chef! Cheers with a highball! The glass was so cold and the highball turned slightly sherbet-like as time passed. The attention to detail was wonderful. - Appetizer: Stone seaweed - Sashimi platter: 9 types including horse mackerel, conger eel, squid, fatty tuna, bonito, sea bream, grilled horse mackerel, mackerel - Leaf wasabi - Sazae bread: Stuffed with basil sauce, delicious - Moon-view hamburger with cartilage: Juicy and flavorful - Stir-fried black pepper sandfish: Top 3 sandfish dishes I've had - Sake tasting set: Affordable and mostly dry types - Majaku fried: Filled with miso - Steamed fish: Unique seasonal fish - Miso soup: Made with the steamed fish broth - Rice ball with cod roe: Filling and delicious - Salt ice cream: Perfect way to end the meal The restaurant may look intimidating from the outside, but it's actually very welcoming inside. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. I want to come back for the steamed fish and miso soup. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a cozy izakaya in Haruyoshi. I went there on a holiday at 7:30 pm and the place was packed and bustling. I sat at the counter and ordered the recommended dishes. The specialty Sazae bread was excellent, with a delicious escargot butter flavor. The Tai Ponzu, Akamutsu, and Anago Shirayaki were all delicious. I will definitely visit again.

Located in the center of the Haruyoshi area, there is a restaurant called "Hakata Furuya". They offer various seating options such as tatami rooms, semi-private rooms, private rooms, and a counter. You can also make reservations online through food review websites and the restaurant's homepage. I later noticed that there was a coupon for a free first drink on the restaurant's website. Look for the lantern with the sign "古家" as a landmark on the way down south on Prefectural Road 553 from Kokutai Road. They mainly serve seafood dishes and sake, with a variety of dishes and drinks available. The appetizer was squid and salmon roe salad, a perfect match for sake. The sesame mackerel was flavorful, with a nice texture. The signature dish, sazae bread, was a popular choice with a generous amount of sazae meat. The garlic butter sauce was delicious and went well with both bread and sake. The grilled beef tongue was also a must-try, with a juicy and tender texture. I also ordered Satsuma chicken breast, which was juicy and flavorful. For fish, I ordered conger eel, alfonsino, and red tilefish, all cooked perfectly. The conger eel was tender and delicious, while the alfonsino and red tilefish were rich in flavor. Overall, the restaurant offers delicious food and a good selection of sake, making it a popular spot in the Haruyoshi area.

Today, I went to a year-end party Part II with my colleagues at "Hakata Furuya" in Tenjin Minami. The restaurant has a traditional Japanese atmosphere with a calm and cozy setting. We sat at a sunken kotatsu table with heating at our feet, keeping us warm. We ordered a variety of dishes a la carte, including a sashimi platter, conger eel tempura, grilled chicken thighs, young chicken tempura, and oyster fry. We finished with rice balls. Each dish was carefully prepared by the chef and delicious. We started with beer and I had a highball while my colleagues enjoyed a sake tasting set. The staff at the restaurant were attentive and the combination of tasty food and drinks made for a great dining experience.

I visited a restaurant that I had been wanting to try. It was a popular place, bustling with customers. I ordered dishes a la carte and enjoyed sipping on a bottle of shochu. The food was delicious, and the service was pleasant. I ended up staying for about 4 hours in the tatami room. I'm sorry for staying so late. It was a great deal at around 5000 yen per person. Dishes included sesame mackerel, sazae bread, grilled conger eel, skewers, and charcoal-grilled black wagyu beef.

I had been there before and the food was quite delicious, so I decided to revisit. The atmosphere was still a bit unfriendly, but the quality of the food was consistent. We didn't have a reservation, so there were plenty of empty tables, but we were seated at the counter. Maybe a table would have been better for the two of us. We ordered beer, uni, sashimi of cold yellowtail, red sea cucumber, fresh oysters, etc. The service was slow, but the taste was very good. The balance between price and quality was also reasonable. We also ordered some sours, but they didn't arrive, even after asking twice. It became difficult to order more... I was surprised by the attitude of the chef, who should have known better. A simple apology would have been nice, especially since we were seated at the counter. We also ordered grilled intestines, dried fish with grated daikon, pickles, skewers, miso soup with greens, mentaiko rice balls, and leaf wasabi. We were full by the end. The total came to 16,000 yen. It would be better if they were a bit more service-oriented.

This time, I went to Hakata Furuya in Haruyoshi, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. It's located straight ahead from Haruyoshi intersection, with Karaoke Big Echo on your left hand side. The exterior has a traditional Japanese style and a cozy atmosphere. I made a reservation and sat at the counter this time. There are also raised tatami seating available. First, we toasted with beer!! The appetizer was scallops and ikura. The staff recommended the following dishes: - Sashimi assortment, special two-person serving (1,300 yen per person) - Half portion of fresh sea urchin (950 yen) - Agedashi sweet sea bream (1,780 yen) We also switched to sake halfway through: - Irohani Masu (1,200 yen) - Fukuoka local sake tasting set: - Tanaka Rokugo Junmai - Niwa no Uguisu Junmai Ginjo - Mitsui no Kotobuki Junmai Ginjo - Wakatakeya Zazen Junmai - Tempura of live conger eel (1,200 yen) - Grilled edamame skewers, 4 pieces (680 yen each, ordered twice) - Thick-cut beef tongue (1,500 yen) - Miso soup with seaweed (350 yen) It was a satisfying meal. I might come back soon! Thank you for the delicious meal.

This time we visited Hakata Furuya. The sashimi platter at this restaurant is a great deal! It includes scallops and hotate (scallops) sashimi. The sazae (turban shell) bread is seasoned with escargot butter, which makes it very delicious and addictive. The atmosphere is nice, and they have a good variety of drinks, so we were able to enjoy ourselves fully!

This is a cozy izakaya in Haruyoshi, Hakata, where you can enjoy delicious seafood and tasty dishes. When asked what I wanted to eat during my visit to Hakata after 2 years, I mentioned Hakata-style dishes, but the locals seemed puzzled. In Tokyo, I would say I want to eat Edomae sushi or eel soba, which are easily available everywhere. In Hakata, it seems it's better to mention dishes like sesame mackerel, squid hot pot, and motsunabe if you want to try authentic Hakata cuisine. I expressed a vague desire for fish, and my host took me to this restaurant. Honestly, everything I tried was delicious. Hakata is not only known for its fish, but also for its meat and vegetables, all of which are delicious. Here are my personal thoughts on the dishes I enjoyed: the squid from Yobuko was disappointing, but the yellowtail was superb. Oysters were predictably delicious, and the conger eel tempura, hamburger, yakitori, and chanja were all tasty. The sazae bread I had as a final dish was a unique and recommended choice. Overall, everything I tried in Hakata was delicious, and I now understand why this restaurant is popular among locals. Thank you for the feast!

I was invited by local business partners. The access is not that great, but there are many new and nice restaurants in the backstreets of Tenjin. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. You can enjoy delicious fish and various Japanese sake from Kyushu. The presentation of the dishes is very detailed, making the meal taste even better. The fish and sake are incredibly delicious, creating a cozy and enjoyable atmosphere to have a fun and lively time. The dish I had, surpassing the name "sazae pan," was exceptionally excellent! It's a great restaurant! Thank you very much!

I visited on a Friday night. The food was all delicious. I kept eating the sesame mackerel everywhere, but it was really good here. You're supposed to mix the sesame mackerel. The staff are young but very attentive and friendly, creating a lively and pleasant atmosphere. There's only one toilet, but it's not a big deal.

We had a sashimi platter, sesame mackerel, and grilled conger eel. The freshness was great, and it paired well with local sake from Fukuoka. The specialty Sazae bread is made with escargot butter-grilled sazae served with bread, and the sauce went really well with the bread.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm and very nice. The rare tuna cutlet had a thin crust and was very delicious, so I recommend it! The drink menu was also extensive!

I tried raw conger eel for the first time. I forgot to take a photo, but each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Just be careful because some menus don't have prices listed. I had about 3 drinks and ate decently, and it cost around 7000 yen. Hmm, it felt a bit expensive.

On weekdays, around 9 pm, there were quite a few sold-out ingredients. There were no alternative suggestions or service provided. The taste was not bad, but the overall performance as a dining establishment was low. However, there were some delicious dishes like tofu and stir-fried octopus, which was a shame.

We love the calm atmosphere, the skilled craftsmanship of the chef, and the beauty of their work, so my husband and I often visit this restaurant. The freshness of the fish is outstanding. If there were a few more menu options, it would be perfect.
