Starting with the Fufuhotto Lamb Shumai, the usual 6-piece serving has been upgraded to 8 pieces. The steamed buns packed tightly in the steamer are adorable. It is important to serve them quickly as the skin tends to stick together over time. The coarse ground filling packed with the umami and juices of the lamb meat pairs perfectly with the chewy skin, making it easy to devour. The filling, mixed with lamb meat and green onions, is refreshing, but when drizzled with a small amount of black vinegar and chili oil sauce provided on the side, it enhances the sourness and brings out the umami of the meat juices. The lamb offal soup has a strong aroma and rich flavor, making it a deeply satisfying dish. It includes potatoes, and the starch from the potatoes adds a hint of sweetness and unique umami to the soup. The lamb leg meat used is fresh and not frozen, as it is commonly used in Ueno's lamb specialty shops. Simply boiled with salt, the meat is incredibly delicious, moist yet chewy with no unpleasant odors, offering a delicate and high-quality taste.

First of all, I can't thank the manager enough. I haven't been back to China for a long time, so I am truly grateful to be able to taste such authentic flavors here! I am so moved to tears! The lamb shumai is really delicious! Be sure to order it! ✨ Point: The black vinegar is a brand called Shuita from Shanxi, China, known as the business card of the region. When you drink it with the outstanding acidity along with the lamb's juicy fat, it feels like you're back home. The lamb soup is exquisite, it warmed my stomach and made me feel at ease! I will definitely come back! I will bring my Japanese friends next time! Please do your best during these times of COVID-19. I support you!

Located a little north of the intersection of Waseda Street and Meiji Street at the Babaguchi intersection, there is a Mongolian cuisine restaurant called Neimonjinka. It's about a 10-minute walk from Takadanobaba Station. The exterior of the restaurant is bright red, making it easy to spot. Inside, there are several tables and the walls are covered with menu items written on small strips of paper. For lunch, they offer a set menu for 880 yen, which includes two options: - Udon-like noodles with a salty lamb flavor - Lamb meat simmered in tomato sauce over rice I decided to try the noodles this time. It took about 10 minutes for the food to be served. The noodles resembled Lanzhou noodles with a unique aroma. The dish was topped with a generous amount of simmered lamb meat and a poached egg. The noodles were slightly chewy, more similar to knife-cut noodles than udon. The portion size was quite large, and the noodles were relatively easy to eat without any strong meaty flavor. My companion ordered the simmered rice bowl, which had a tomato sauce similar to Hayashi rice, with plenty of well-cooked lamb meat. It also had a poached egg and was served in a large dish with a substantial portion. Payment is cash only.

I passed by the store before and saw the words "羊" and "内蒙", which caught my attention. However, I wasn't sure if it was open for business, so I ended up going to another store at that time. But today, I decided to give it a try even though I wasn't sure if it was open. The store is located along Meiji Street, heading towards Ikebukuro, near the Babaguchi intersection. The red exterior makes it easy to spot. Despite still having an uncertain vibe about whether it's open or not, there was a handwritten "open" sign in the bottom right corner of the store window. This was quite confusing (laughs). I entered the store and informed them that I was dining alone, then sat at an available table. The store is run by a Mongolian couple from Hohhot, serving Mongolian cuisine. The woman dining alone at another table seemed to be their daughter. Since it was a Sunday, there was no lunch set menu available. Looking at the regular menu, it seemed like the dishes were meant to be shared by multiple people. Being alone, I asked the husband in the kitchen if the Lamb Hot Pot Noodles (1,280 yen) was suitable for one person, and he showed me the pot size to confirm, so I placed my order. While the husband was preparing my dish, another customer arrived. From their conversation, I could tell they were not Japanese. Perhaps this place is more well-known among foreigners in the neighborhood than among Japanese residents. I checked on Tabelog and found out that the restaurant was already reviewed by the reliable reviewer Joiikko! Impressed by this, my dish arrived. The noodle dish in the pot was very hot and steaming, making it hard to take a clear picture. The noodles were flat and medium-thick, with a chewy texture. The soup had a rich flavor that complemented the noodles well. Topped with a generous amount of lamb meat that was tender and not gamey, along with eggs, ginger, tomatoes, and simple seasonings. The soup was not heavily spiced but had a smooth and addictive taste. It was really delicious! If I had to nitpick, I would say that a few more vegetables in the dish would be nice considering the price. By the time I finished eating, the soup was still boiling hot in the pot, making me sweat a lot (laughs). It was a tasty meal, and I would like to try other lamb dishes here in the future. Keep up the good work despite the challenges of the pandemic. Thank you for the meal.

I had Inner Mongolian cuisine in Takadanobaba (as of September 2020). On weekdays, you can have lunch starting from around 800 yen, but I visited on a Sunday. I had a warm noodle dish with potatoes, tofu, and lamb for 1280 yen. The noodles were chewy like udon, the soup had a gentle flavor, and the lamb was delicious without any gamey taste.

I visited for lunch. The new and clean interior left a good impression. I had the lamb noodle soup for 880 yen. The noodles, soup, and meat all had amazing flavors. It was a perfect lunch. The homemade spicy oil and vinegar on the table also added great taste. It was a bit concerning that I was the only customer during lunchtime. I hope this restaurant becomes more popular. I will definitely come back to eat here again.
