I visited a famous restaurant for the second time. After ordering drinks, I was asked how many chicken skin skewers I wanted. I decided on 10. The chicken skin arrived and then I was able to place my next order. The chicken skin was crispy and packed with flavor, making it a perfect snack to go with beer. We also tried grilled whole garlic, which was delicious. We enjoyed various other dishes like white intestines, liver, and heart. There were even some chicken parts I had never heard of before, and I wish I had more room in my stomach to try them all.

For the second stop on my food tour, I decided to try some chicken skin at a place called Kawaya. Even on a Sunday night, it was quite popular and almost full when I arrived at 7 pm, despite making a reservation. I ordered a sweet potato shochu on the rocks and tried the following dishes: - Chicken skin - Chicken heart - Chicken gizzards - Chicken cartilage - Chicken tendon - Chicken belly - Chicken thigh - Shiitake mushrooms - Seared chicken thigh - Simmered beef tendon - Vinegar seasoned giblets - Grilled pig's feet The chicken skewers were priced at around 130 yen each. While yakitori in the Kanto region seems to be getting more luxurious, Fukuoka's yakitori maintains a low threshold and good quality. After enjoying about three drinks, the bill came out to a little over 8,000 yen. I left feeling quite full. Thank you for the meal.

Fukuoka night market closing is famous for its chicken skin. I went to a shop and had beer with 5 pieces of chicken skin, which was well-seasoned and the skin was tender and delicious! I tried everything and it was all delicious! Especially the belly part was the best! It was so delicious. Thank you very much!

I visited Fukuoka for sightseeing and finally tried the restaurant I had been curious about! I heard that the chicken skin was delicious, so I decided to visit, and it was indeed tasty. I could eat a lot of it. The dressing for the cabbage that came as a complimentary dish was also delicious. This is a popular restaurant, so making a reservation is a must.

I love Torikawa (chicken skin) so much. Whenever my friends visit Fukuoka, I always recommend it to them. This time, I visited a famous Torikawa restaurant. I arrived at 9 pm and the place was already crowded, with about 5 groups waiting, including myself. Finally, I got inside the restaurant. I ordered Torikawa and beer without hesitation. It was delicious with a salty flavor, and the best part is that it's cheap. In Tokyo, one piece can cost around 200 yen, so I'm grateful. I definitely want to go on another Torikawa tour.

One of the absolute recommendations that came up when searching for Hakata gourmet was the chicken skin, which I had always wanted to try. The bustling atmosphere inside the restaurant was great, with everyone chatting and having a good time. Thanks to the festival, there were empty seats and we were able to walk in without a reservation. As soon as we sat down, a plate of cabbage was placed in front of us as a serving plate, and we were asked how many pieces of chicken skin we wanted. Of course, we intended to order some, but it seemed like they wanted to make sure we were going to eat it, which was a bit blunt but the service was polite and matched the atmosphere of the restaurant, so we appreciated it. I was starting to get excited and having fun! (By this point, we had already eaten at two food stalls, so my stomach was quite full, haha). We ordered 10 pieces for the two of us for starters. I wonder how many pieces others usually order? You can watch the tough-looking guy at the counter grilling them carefully. They arrived shortly after. This was the long-awaited chicken skin... It looked delicious and had a crispy texture. The taste was also strong and delicious. We quickly finished all 10 pieces. Even though our stomachs were full, we wanted to try something else, so we ordered the chicken meat and two items that caught our attention, Nodonan and Darm. The chicken meat was soft and juicy. Nodonan had a tougher texture than I had imagined, it was quite chewy. The soup at the end was served as a complimentary dish. Personally, I prefer chicken skin with a bit more fat on it, as I like softer foods. It was really crispy! My partner, who enjoys foods with a tougher texture, loved it and praised it as delicious. I think preferences vary from person to person, but we were able to enjoy one of Hakata's recommended gourmet dishes and were very satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I was struggling to decide where to go, but then I noticed this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while and decided to go there. They specialize in "kawa," which has now become a famous dish in Hakata, and they also have a wide variety of skewers and other dishes. Despite making a last-minute reservation, the staff were very kind and we were able to enjoy our meal. Thank you for the delicious food!

It had been a while since my last visit, probably around 4 or 5 years. I ordered 6 skewers, which were crispy, fragrant, and had a rich flavor that I really enjoyed. My friend wasn't feeling well, so I ended up eating most of the food by myself. The yakitori was cooked rare and the wasabi sauce complemented it well. The simmered motsu (offal) was tender and paired perfectly with yuzu pepper. The liver sashimi was sweet and delicious. Lastly, I finished with a rich chicken broth soup. Although the prices of the skewers had gone up since my last visit, the delicious taste made it worth it.

When I come here, I mostly eat just the chicken skin from the yakitori. Instead, I laugh a lot. Since I was driving today, I gave the beer to my husband and daughter and had oolong tea with the skin and some grilled mushrooms. I am very satisfied with just that at this restaurant. By the way, the skin came in orders of 20, 20, and 10 pieces. Oh, and the rice balls were delicious with a good amount of salt. My husband and daughter also enjoyed various other grilled dishes, including pig's feet. We had some soup before getting the bill. Next time, I will bring my son when he comes home. Thank you for the meal.

On my third visit to Hakata Station, I finally fulfilled my wish to eat at Kawaya. However, the taste was honestly mediocre. The cabbage appetizer was tough, and difficult to eat with just the dressing. The skewered pork belly advertised on the sign was tasty, but not something you have to eat specifically at this place.

I made a reservation for a weekday night because I wanted to try the grilled chicken skin rolls. The restaurant was almost full when I arrived. The chicken skin was absolutely delicious, not too heavy, and had a flavor that made me want to eat more and more! The other yakitori dishes were also tasty, and I ended up eating too much without realizing it. Thank you for the meal!笑.

Fukuoka's famous yakitori restaurant, "Kawaya," has been featured on national television multiple times. Their website shows that they have expanded to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Aichi, Hokkaido, and Shizuoka, becoming a nationally recognized restaurant. This time, I visited their Kego branch. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Akasaka subway station towards the Kego area, with a large yellow sign as a landmark. Despite arriving late around 9 pm, the restaurant was packed. The interior had a counter and tables crammed together to accommodate more customers. When asked about drinks, they also ask how many chicken skins you want, which is a signature of Kawaya. Almost everyone orders the chicken skin here. - Chicken Skin: A specialty of Kawaya, this chicken skin is made using a secret method that takes 6 days to complete. The skin is dense, crispy on the outside, and juicy and chewy on the inside. It pairs perfectly with alcohol. - Sand Gizzard: Gizzards with a strong salt flavor, juicy and perfectly cooked. - Heart: Chewy and flavorful heart with a good amount of salt. - Knuckle: Knuckles with a satisfying chewiness and a delicious charred flavor. - Sagari: Limited quantity Sagari with a large cut, full of beefy flavor. - Oyadashi: A hearty combination of wingtips and wing joints. Crispy skin and delicious chicken aroma. A bit difficult to eat due to bones. - Pig's Feet: Similar to Oyadashi, a bit challenging to eat, but the slightly tough and crispy surface with melty collagen inside was delicious. - Chicken Breast: Popular after the chicken skin, the half-raw tender chicken breast with wasabi was a strong combination. Kawaya's chicken skin, contrary to the general image, is a must-try for yakitori lovers and anyone looking for a unique taste experience.

I wanted to eat yakitori, so I went to Kawaya Kego store! I was planning to eat lightly because I had plans to eat elsewhere afterwards, but I ended up eating 5 pieces of chicken skin! It was so delicious that I couldn't help but want to eat more and more! ✨✨

If you're in Fukuoka and craving chicken skin, I recommend trying Kawaya for a second time. It's best to make a reservation in advance. The restaurant was fully booked at 8 pm on a weekday. We ordered 10 pieces of crispy and chewy chicken skin, grilled chicken breast skewers, and beer. The chicken skin was addictive, with a delicious sauce that made us want more. The grilled chicken breast skewers were rare and tender, with a unique wasabi-flavored sauce. The sand liver skewers were also tasty, with onion adding a nice touch. The chicken skin and sand liver skewers were 120 yen each, and the grilled chicken breast skewers were 350 yen for 2. I can't wait to go back and eat more!

Established in 1999, "Kawaya" is a yakitori restaurant in Fukuoka known for its specialty grilled chicken skin. With four locations in Fukuoka, including the main branch in Shirokane, the Kego branch, the Hakata Gion branch, and the Otemon branch, the restaurant exudes a vibrant atmosphere filled with the savory aroma emanating from the grill. The menu features a variety of Fukuoka specialties such as grilled chicken skin, grilled chicken tenderloin skewers, and "darmu" (grilled chicken intestines). The signature dish, "tori kawa" (chicken skin), is a delicacy made by carefully wrapping the rare and valuable neck skin of a chicken around a skewer until it becomes crispy. The process involves lightly grilling the chicken skin to remove excess fat, letting it rest, and repeating this process for six days, resulting in the perfect texture and flavor on the seventh day. The chewy yet crispy texture of the chicken skin, combined with the two secret sauces passed down since the restaurant's establishment, creates a rich and sweet umami flavor that lingers in your mouth and nose. Each bite reveals a new depth of flavor, leaving you craving for more skewers. The expert craftsmanship that goes into grilling and resting the meat repeatedly results in a unique smoky taste that only this restaurant can deliver. Be sure to try the "shigi yaki" (grilled chicken tenderloin skewers) and the limited edition "sagari" for a truly unforgettable dining experience. The addictive nature of the chicken skin makes it easy to devour 5 to 10 skewers on your own.

I visited the restaurant on a regular night. I arrived a little before 8:00 PM and it was almost full. I had a meeting with a colleague, who informed me they would be late, so I decided to start without them. As soon as I sat down, I ordered a "Kirin Classic Lager (550 yen)" and "10 pieces of chicken skin (132 yen each)". They were served in about 7-8 minutes. I started by enjoying the grilled chicken skin, which had a strong charred flavor and was not too fatty. I also had some one-spice chili powder with it, along with my beer. After about 30 minutes with no sign of my colleague, I ordered another beer and added 5 more pieces of chicken skin. I enjoyed the complimentary raw cabbage as well. When my colleague finally arrived, I immediately ordered another 10 pieces of chicken skin, along with 5 pieces of "Darm (132 yen)" and "Vinegar Motsu (330 yen)". The darm was nicely grilled, reducing the slimy texture, and the vinegar motsu was refreshing. Finally, I added 3 pieces of "Pork Trotters (385 yen)" and switched to a "Highball (495 yen)", pouring the whiskey into the carbonated bottle myself. I also had a refill of the whiskey. Each carbonated bottle was enough for about 3 drinks. The pork trotters were boiled and then grilled until crispy, concentrating the flavor and aroma. Feeling a bit empty, I ordered another 10 pieces of chicken skin. I ended up eating 20 pieces in total, alternating with cabbage, creating a kind of endless loop of deliciousness. Although chicken skin is now commonly seen at Kyushu product fairs in department stores in Tokyo, nothing beats the freshly cooked, crispy, and flavorful chicken skin at a restaurant. It was a delightful meal.

We made a reservation at the famous restaurant Takikawa, Kawaya Kego store. It was difficult to get a reservation due to its popularity. We started with ordering 15 pieces of kawa (crispy chicken skin) for three people. The skin was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, making it our favorite. We ordered various dishes and ended with another 15 pieces of kawa. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Welcome.---------- 2022.11 ----------I took a taxi from Tenjin's Hyotan Sushi in the Kenkoku area, so I'm not sure of the exact location, but there are various other shops around. Finally, I was able to visit the Yakitori Naoe direct store (I'm not interested in the Sapporo FC, so I don't go if I don't make a reservation, it's always fully booked (I wanted to sit at the counter at 9:00 PM (I wanted to see the mountain of grilled chicken (I wanted to see the scary master and staff, people's appearances and personalities are different, especially in Hokkaido and Fukuoka. First up was the cabbage, just munching away while waiting eagerly for the skewers. The grilled skewers were enjoyable. The "grilled chicken skin" was the real deal, and I was satisfied after seeing it. It was rolled around and grilled for several days, soaked in sauce, and it wasn't as crispy as I thought, but the chewy skin had a nice elasticity. The "chicken tendon" was three pieces, with a good chewy texture and a rich flavor. The "pork belly" was made of pork, just like the yakitori in Muroran, small in size but with a strong sweetness of the pork belly. The "chicken gizzard" was five pieces, just right, and this time it was "white intestine," with a chewy texture. The "onigiri" was salted rice balls, so they were perfect with the skewers. Finally, I was given "chicken soup" to finish. I wanted to drink it at the beginning. I didn't know this chain was popular even in unfamiliar areas. It was delicious.

Finally managed to secure a reservation after trying for so long! It feels like a dream come true after waiting for years. Started with the classic chicken skin skewers. Also ordered some raw items and the usual yakitori menu. As expected, the skin was incredibly delicious! Hoping to secure another reservation soon!

When I went to Hakata, I wanted to eat the grilled chicken skin at Guruguru no Torikawa. I tried confirming a reservation as a last resort, and thankfully got the OK. I visited the restaurant and started with a draft beer and grilled chicken skin. The texture was crispy on the outside, chewy when bitten, and juicy when chewed. The grilled chicken skin was served very rare with wasabi soy sauce that tickled my nostrils. The cartilage was crunchy and satisfyingly paired with chicken broth soup. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Visit in October 2022.
