When I was in Kinshicho and couldn't decide where to have lunch, I suddenly remembered there was a MinMin there! As an Osaka native, I am familiar with MinMin. It's great to have a directly managed store in Tokyo! Unlike some other Chinese restaurants where the service can be a bit cold, the staff at MinMin were quite friendly. This is something that should be expected, but it left a good impression. Now, for the order, I got the Genghis Khan set with two orders of dumplings as a topping. Personally, this combination is a winner. The Genghis Khan dish seemed to taste even better than the main store in Minami. The meat was tender and delicious. On the other hand, the dumplings were a bit too oily and overcooked. Maybe it was the person cooking them. If someone else cooked them, they could probably recreate the same taste as the main store. The filling itself was the same as the main store, perfect for those who like thin-skinned dumplings. I wish I could have had a beer with this, but I was still working, so I had to pass... I always wonder why the kanji for MinMin doesn't show up when I type, haha.

I wanted to eat curry or fried rice, so I was debating whether to go to Daisangen, but I ended up going to Minmin because it was closer to where I parked my bike. I ordered the braised pork fried rice and grilled dumplings. The dumplings were not crispy, but rather moist and chewy. The fried rice had a sweet taste from the braised pork, resulting in an overall sweet flavor. Hmm, maybe I should have gone with the mixed fried rice instead...

I visited for lunch only on Sunday afternoon. The location is on the way to transfer between JR Kinshicho and the Tozai Subway Line. I entered at 11:10 AM with no other customers. The menu had a wide variety of options, including a good selection of set meals. I ordered a "draft beer" for 620 yen, "gyoza" for 430 yen, and "stir-fried bean sprouts" for 650 yen. The gyoza had thin skin and a soft filling, melting in the mouth, which may also be good. It wasn't crispy gyoza. The stir-fried bean sprouts had a light seasoning and tasted delicious, but as a side dish, the portion was a bit small! It felt like the "just size" of a gyoza chain store in Kyoto. I added an order of "stir-fried tomatoes and eggs" for 760 yen and "Hoppy" for 550 yen after seeing them on the wall menu. The stir-fried tomatoes and eggs had a delicious blend of sweetness and acidity from the tomatoes, with bell peppers adding to the flavor. It was satisfying as a side dish in terms of quantity. I also ordered the "Hoppy refill" for 260 yen a few times. It was disappointing that the middle-aged Japanese male staff hardly spoke when taking orders, serving, or clearing the table. It was surprising and disappointing that there was no communication even after paying. Thank you for the meal.

The ramen on its own costs 830 yen. The gyoza comes in a small portion of 7 pieces, well seasoned and delicious even without sauce. The gyoza on its own costs 430 yen, making the set a much better deal (effectively 230 yen?). The sour and spicy noodles have thin and chewy noodles that are tasty. The dish includes a lot of shiitake mushrooms, wood ear mushrooms, leeks, bamboo shoots, carrots, and eggs. The sourness is not very strong, with only a bit of spiciness from the chili oil on top. However, there is a strong heat from the black pepper, so be careful if you don't like pepper. The set comes with a small dessert (almond pudding?).

I went to the famous dumpling restaurant Minmin. There were quite a few items on the menu, but I ordered the fried rice and dumplings set. It cost 900 yen. Unfortunately, the dumplings and fried rice I was looking forward to were just okay. There were other items on the menu that looked delicious, so I would like to go back again if I have the chance.

During lunchtime when time is short and fast food is a lifesaver, this place is a great help. Sometimes it's the famous dumplings, other times it's the weekly special like today. The vegetable stir-fry with plenty of vegetables is seasoned perfectly and gives me the energy I need for work in the afternoon.

On my first visit on a weekend night, it was quite crowded. The braised pork fried rice, shrimp chili, and oil-splashed chicken were all delicious. They offer half-price gyoza and highball on the 3rd, 13th, and 23rd of every month. The menu has a great variety of options, making it hard to choose. The braised pork fried rice was especially delicious! The drinks were served quickly and I left satisfied. It was very tasty!

I had been interested in trying out this place for a while, and finally got the chance to visit. Looking at the menu, the "Spicy Sliced Pork" caught my eye. I ordered it and when it arrived, it looked delicious! It was my first time trying this kind of spicy dish, and it was really tasty. Thank you for the great meal!

Chinjao Rosu set for 850 yen (with less rice). It came with egg soup, shredded cabbage salad, and 3 pieces of zasai. The egg soup was a bit salty, but the Chinjao Rosu was well-cooked and I liked the type. However, it lacked a bit of flavor, so I added some black pepper. The portion size was generous and satisfying. Overall, great value for the price! The restaurant seems to be popular among people of all ages and I would like to go there again.

On a holiday around 6 pm, about 30% of the customers were already there, and 2-3 more groups came later, making it around 40% full. They had a half-price deal on draft beer, but it had a metallic or stainless taste that wasn't very good. The original grilled dumplings were good as expected, while the Minmin fried rice was also tasty. However, the black vinegar spare ribs were terrible, with the outside being hard and the inside dry. It's not a dish worth recommending.

Visited the restaurant on "Minmin Day" where dumplings are cheap (plus Rakuten Gourmet coupons are being distributed). It was crowded, so had to wait a bit before being seated. Luckily, got a table instead of counter seating. Ordered the discounted Minmin dumplings (7 pieces for 205 yen, normally 410 yen) and two Dewar's Highballs for 330 yen each (normally 480 yen). Two highballs weren't enough to get drunk, but kept the total bill around 1,070 yen. PayPay payment available. It may not be the most exciting event of the year, but with places like Skylark getting more expensive to drink at, and not being able to enjoy cheap dumplings and beer at Bamiyan anymore, it's a rare treat. Thinking of saving up Rakuten Gourmet coupons for a revisit on the 23rd of each month for cheap beer day.

I messed up again. Another blurry photo... The new menu item, Mabo Yakisoba, was served in a hot pot and had a spicy numbing flavor. It paired perfectly with a cold beer. The portion of noodles was small, so I added a small bowl of rice to make it into a Mabo Don. It was delicious. And as always, the food was served quickly!

I visited during a weekday dinner time. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious, and I think they could accommodate around 20 people with a reservation. The decorations were nice, creating a Chinese atmosphere where you can enjoy the season. The staff, especially the manager, greeted us with a lovely smile, but some of the older male staff members were unfriendly and had poor customer service skills. The fried rice we ordered was delicious, like the ones you find at local Chinese restaurants. The dumplings were affordable but disappointing as they were lacking in filling. Even though they were only 200 yen, they were quite disappointing. The beer was cold and great, perfect for after work. Overall, it might be a good place to stop by on the way home from work.

At Kinshicho Station North Exit, I had dinner at Menmen. Personally, when it comes to gyoza, I really like Menmen. The small-sized gyoza with thin skin goes really well with beer as an appetizer. I ordered the Gyoza Set with Negi Char Siu for 1,150 yen, and also added extra gyoza and spicy fried chicken. The spicy fried chicken has a nice aroma of Sichuan peppercorns and goes well with beer. Despite the fact that the staff doesn't apologize for mistakes, the food is delicious and it's a really good restaurant. I will visit again.

When I occasionally crave for dumplings, I either go to "Kameido Gyoza" or another place called "Min Min"! "Min Min" is the original dumpling restaurant that originated in Osaka's Sennichimae! In the old days, when it came to pan-fried dumplings in Osaka, it was all about "Min Min"! The thin-skinned dumplings are just like the ones at the main branch! The fried rice is also delicious!

We went to the second bar feeling a little tipsy. It's located near the station, which is convenient. We sat at an empty table, ordered Negi Char Siu, gyoza, and beer. The beer was good. I thought the Negi Char Siu would be a small dish due to the price, but it was a regular-sized plate with a good portion. The gyoza came in a serving of 7! I still felt a bit hungry, so I ordered mini tantanmen. It looked spicy, but it had just the right amount of heat. I added a highball and finished everything. All of this cost a little over 2000 yen. The cost performance is amazing. I definitely want to go back.

In Kansai, Men Men is famous. Is it also famous in Tokyo? I stumbled upon Men Men while strolling around Kinshicho after a long time, so I decided to try it! I ordered beer, gyoza, and chicken with chili sauce set meal. It's quite a large portion... but delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed my long-awaited Men Men experience.

There is a Chinese restaurant that I've been eyeing for a while, offering delicious food at a reasonable price. I finally went there and tried their happy hour set which includes beer, dumplings, and a choice of one small dish from three options. I chose the steamed chicken with scallions, and it was so tasty. The set cost just a little over 1,300 yen, which is a great deal. The dumplings were good, with a mild flavor, and the best dish was the fried rice. It was perfectly seasoned and only 670 yen. I might come back for a solo meal next time.

I ordered the evening set meal with shrimp and egg in chili sauce. It came with rice, dumplings, salad, and soup. The dumplings had a strong vegetable flavor and a good amount of garlic, very delicious. The egg soup was light and refreshing. The shrimp and egg in chili sauce had a mild spiciness, with large and juicy shrimp. It was the best!

I ordered the Gyoza set with Suan La Mian at Minmin in Kinshicho East for 980 yen. After 12 o'clock, the restaurant started filling up quickly as it is a popular spot with reasonable prices. The Gyoza was quite ordinary, but I wished it had a bit more spice. However, the Suan La Mian was delicious! At first, I thought the spiciness was mild, but then the heat caught up with the sourness, and I ended up sweating. Still, I couldn't stop eating with my chopsticks! I am satisfied and enjoyed the meal. Thank you!

Located just a 1-2 minute walk from the north exit of Kinshicho Station on the JR Sobu Line in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. ★First visit on April 20, 2022★ It is situated in the basement of the Alca East Building along the underground passage connecting with the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, but since the JR ticket gates are only above ground, you have to exit outside before entering, which is a bit inconvenient. I entered around 18:20 on a weekday (Wednesday). The restaurant was quite small with about 40% of the seats occupied by other customers. I sat at the counter as I was dining alone. The interior seemed a bit worn out, with some sticky spots here and there, a typical charm of old establishments (laughs). Beer Set B ★★★ 900 yen (tax included) - Spicy chicken and jellyfish appetizer platter - Gyoza - Draft beer The appetizer wasn't as spicy as expected. The gyoza were mini-sized and stuck together, making them difficult to eat as the skin would peel off when separated. Despite having 7 pieces, they didn't leave much of an impression. Both the appetizer and gyoza were on the smaller side in terms of portion. Szechuan-style Red Fried Rice ★★★★ 770 yen (tax included) A moist fried rice dish. The spiciness came more from the red chili peppers than the fried rice itself. While it had a decent level of heat, I personally wished for more spiciness in the fried rice itself. There seem to be other dishes that focus more on spiciness, which I would like to try while considering my stomach next time.
