Visited "Tsukishima Monja Gatteen" restaurant. Ordered the special Gatteen, Hiroshima-style oyster butter, Hoppy set, and lemon sour. Arrived after 1 pm. No waiting. It's a DIY-style Monja restaurant. The special Gatteen had plenty of seafood, but the broth lacked a strong seafood flavor. Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating monjayaki in Tsukishima for the first time in a while, so I visited for lunch. I couldn't get into the shop I was aiming for, so I walked around and ended up entering this shop. It had been so long that I had forgotten how to make it (^◇^;) However, the method was kindly explained properly in the menu, so I was able to make it correctly! In addition to monjayaki, I ordered yakisoba and salad. It was a sudden lunch, but I enjoyed it! Thank you for the meal!

I thought it was very good because you can have unlimited mayonnaise, bonito flakes, nori seaweed, and sauce for the second visit. However, the staff didn't respond well, so I had to raise my voice a bit, which was a bit disappointing. The interior of the restaurant was clean and the food was delicious, so I would like to go again. (•ˆ-ˆ•)

For dinner, I went to this place. Feeling a bit tired, I chose a spacious restaurant. I ordered rice cake mentaiko cheese monja, Baby Star monja, and yakisoba. The rice cake mentaiko cheese monja had a nice crispy texture and aroma of the rice cake. The Baby Star monja allowed me to fully enjoy the seafood broth without overpowering ingredients. The yakisoba had thick noodles that were chewy and paired well with the sauce. It's a good place to leisurely enjoy monja.

Tsukishima Monja was my first time trying it, so I can't evaluate the taste. It was delicious. Compared to other shops on Tsukishima Monja Street, the interior was spacious and clean. The fact that you can store your clothes and belongings under the bench is also a big plus. The edge of the teppan in front of the children's seats was covered with a wet towel, showing their consideration. The classic mentaiko cheese and seafood monja were delicious. A Vietnamese-looking woman skillfully made the monja. The staff were efficient and refreshing. I found a good restaurant.

The scallops and oysters we grilled ourselves were plump and delicious, but the staff efficiently cooked the monjayaki for us. All drinks come in medium-sized glasses. They thoughtfully placed a guard in front of the children to prevent burns on the hot plate. It's a family-friendly restaurant where you can relax. The mentaiko cheese monjayaki and the clam butter monjayaki were very tasty, and the Baby Star Ramen topping was also good.

It was a good restaurant where I felt hospitality. They had a place for baby strollers, provided wet towels to prevent children from touching the hot plate, and even gave straws with the water. It's surprising how few places actually do these things that we might take for granted as customers. We ordered "Gatten" and "Monja Plain" with various toppings for Monjayaki, and also tried Okonomiyaki with "Aonegi Mentaiko" topping. The Monja Plain was a bit bland in flavor, while the Gatten had a strong seafood taste which created an interesting contrast. The Okonomiyaki had a slightly loose texture, but overall it was delicious.

We visited the restaurant with five colleagues on a Sunday afternoon around 2 pm after hitting some golf balls. Surprisingly, there were no customers at the restaurant, while a nearby popular restaurant called "Kura" was packed. The place seemed new and clean, making it welcoming for female customers. We ordered Sichuan-style mapo tofu monjayaki, Baby Star monjayaki, pork okonomiyaki, yakisoba x2, and seafood okonomiyaki, all priced around 1000 yen each. The Sichuan-style mapo tofu was a bit pricey at around 1400 yen and the portion seemed small. The taste was average. However, we had to cook everything ourselves, which was a bit of a hassle. We are thinking of trying out a famous monjayaki restaurant in Tsukishima soon.

I ordered the special seafood monja and the standard cheese and Baby Star monja. The special seafood monja was overflowing with shrimp, squid, scallops, and clams, creating a delicious dish. The cooked monja was full of seafood in every bite. However, the cheese and Baby Star monja had too much cheese, overpowering the delicate broth flavor, which was a bit disappointing. The staff's genuine smiles made the dining experience enjoyable at this restaurant.

Living in Tsukishima, I went to a monjayaki restaurant for entertaining guests. I ordered plum shiso monja, mentaiko cheese mochi monja, and mentaiko cheese mochi monja. Gattem, a relatively new restaurant that was renovated from a large standing bar and reopened as a monjayaki restaurant in September 2019. I usually visit a monjayaki restaurant 2-3 times if I like it, but I also like to check out new places. The teppan and spatula for grilling were large and easy to use, which was great. The broth was also delicious. However, I noticed that customers couldn't grill their own monja here, and some left right after entering. When I added soba noodles as a topping, it absorbed most of the broth and turned into something more like yakisoba than monjayaki. I asked if I could pay extra to add more broth, but was refused. Many monjayaki restaurants are not very flexible... I wish they would allow toppings like cabbage and broth to be added. Monjayaki seems to be getting more expensive every year.

While wandering around Tsukishima, I stumbled upon a shop adorned with lots of flowers. I thought it was a newly opened store, but it turned out to be a shop that had not opened yet. I decided to enter and after waiting for about 10 minutes, I was seated. I started with some juice and scallops with butter and soy sauce. Then I ordered their special "okonomiyaki" which the waitress cooked with a fun conversation. It had a variety of seafood, but I was a bit disappointed with the seafood mix. The flavor was a bit light, but it turned out just right when it was grilled. It's a new shop, so there are still some rough edges in their operation, but I hope they can survive in this competitive area. Thank you for the meal.

The special Gatten for 1,600 yen, the melt-in-your-mouth beef tendon for 1,550 yen, and the refreshing plum and shiso leaf dish for 1,450 yen are all excellent choices. The seafood in the special Gatten is incredibly satisfying.

The entrance was easy to find and the inside of the restaurant was clean. The staff were friendly and the monjayaki was incredibly delicious! I want to come back again!
