I thought about how the signboards and chopstick bags in Kansai have changed from "かしう" to "かしゅう" over the years, and decided to try the nostalgic Chinese curry. It came out quickly, but it was delicious. The ingredients were stir-fried quickly, then cooked in Chinese soup with curry powder and thickened. The chicken was tender, the vegetables were crunchy, and the seasoning was just right. It's a curry that only a Chinese chef could make.

I had Ebi Cha-han (shrimp fried rice) and Tan Tan Men (spicy sesame noodles) for the first time in years. They were delicious with just the right amount of seasoning. The Cha-han was not the dry type, but rather a moist and chewy texture. Although it didn't quite meet my high expectations after so long, the overall quality was good. I wish I could have this kind of everyday Chinese food without having to search for it in the city.

I couldn't resist and finally came to visit because I hadn't been able to go for a while! They are preparing from 4pm to 5pm now, right? I always try to order something different but end up getting the same thing (^_^) It's easy for solo female diners to enter too! It's still popular as ever, even when I try to come during off-peak hours, it's always full. I'm going to have a lunch beer again!

I visited "Chinese Cuisine Koshu" on this day. The restaurant is located at 4-chome, Minami 3-jo Nishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, just off the Tanuki Koji arcade towards Susukino. I arrived around 2:00 pm on the weekend and had to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated as there were 5 people ahead of me. Unfortunately, the dumplings were sold out, so I had to change my order to fried rice and grilled dumplings. I ordered the following: Shrimp Fried Rice 1000 yen + Large Portion 100 yen, Crab Grilled Dumplings 3 pieces 480 yen, Dragon Highball 500 yen, Total 2080 yen (including tax). I started with the Dragon Highball, followed by the grilled dumplings and then the fried rice, which took about 17 minutes from ordering. The crab grilled dumplings were decent in flavor, but lacked moisture and some parts of the skin were dry and tough. The fried rice, on the other hand, was generously topped with large shrimp and had a good portion size due to the large portion upgrade. However, it lacked flavor and tasted bland, making it a bit of a challenge to finish, even with a little soup poured over it. The soup itself was also lacking in flavor. The rice was well-cooked and firm, but overall, the meal was disappointing with its lack of taste. It turned out to be a lunch that I wouldn't recommend from a fried rice-focused restaurant. Rating: 3.49 out of 5.

Had dinner at the famous Chinese restaurant "Koushu" in Sapporo. Ebi Ankake Salt Yakisoba for 1,000 yen and Ebi Cha-han for 1,000 yen. The shrimp was large and juicy. The Ebi Cha-han at Koushu is a personal favorite, and it's what they are known for. But the Ebi Ankake Salt Yakisoba was also delicious. The noodles were well-cooked, absorbing the sauce while still being chewy and slightly crispy in parts.

Shrimp fried rice for 1000 yen. It is a moist fried rice with a gentle flavor and delicious plump shrimp. It contains green peas. The ingredients are simple with only eggs and green onions. Personally, I thought it would be nice to have pickled ginger. The pickled vegetables had a unique taste. The soup was gentle yet flavorful and to my liking. There are soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, pepper, disposable chopsticks, and toothpicks on the table. You will be provided with a wet towel and water when seated. It would be nice to have a call button as the staff does not pass by often in the back, so you have to raise your voice a bit. The service is good. Takeout: 6 pieces of pan-fried dumplings for 707 yen, with chewy skin and slightly more skin than filling. Spring rolls: 5 pieces for 785 yen, with a strong meaty texture which I liked. Mapo tofu for 883 yen, spicier than it looks with a meaty and delicious taste. Eight treasures dish for 1227 yen, with an oyster sauce soy base that is simply delicious. Stir-fried greens for 982 yen, with a strong garlic flavor and a crunchy texture that is delicious. Zangi for 1227 yen, with a rich flavor but slightly expensive. Stir-fried pork and cabbage with sweet miso for 1227 yen, with a strong miso flavor that is simply delicious. Stir-fried liver and chives for 1227 yen, with almost no liver smell, lots of vegetables, and delicious taste. Overall, the cost performance is not great, but everything is delicious.

✔️Shrimp Fried Rice ¥1000 ✔️Grilled Dumplings (6 pieces) ¥720 ✔️Beer (medium bottle) ¥600 After traveling from Asahikawa to Biei, passing through Furano, I arrived in Sapporo a little after 7 PM. Upon reaching the hotel, I naturally searched for a local Chinese restaurant using Google Maps. I decided to visit a place called "Koushuu," which has been loved by locals since its establishment in 1959. The restaurant is located slightly off the main arcade of Sapporo's central area, in between 4th and 5th streets, marked by a shining yellow sign. As one of the representative Chinese restaurants in Sapporo, there was a line outside even after 8 PM, and I had to wait for about 15 minutes before being seated. The main floor, with table seating, was full, so I was led to the second floor with small and large round tables. The retro atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era was quite charming. The menu was very diverse, categorized into appetizers, shrimp dishes, pork dishes, chicken dishes, seafood and vegetable dishes, egg and tofu dishes, noodles, rice dishes, dim sum, and desserts. Since I had not researched the menu beforehand, I was a bit indecisive about what to order. But for a first visit to a local Chinese restaurant, I thought, "This is it!" and ordered the three items mentioned above. The grilled dumplings took about 15 minutes to be ready, so the Shrimp Fried Rice arrived first. The dome-shaped mound of Shrimp Fried Rice was surprisingly a regular portion. It contained eggs, green onions, and was topped with green peas and five large shrimp. The mild flavor of the fried rice, mixed with the slight saltiness and sweetness of the eggs, was delightful. The grilled dumplings also had a substantial weight to them, with a thick and chewy skin filled generously with the meat mixture. The Fried Rice came with soup and pickled vegetables, while the dumplings came with a special vinegar-based sauce. Both dishes were hearty but not greasy, with a light seasoning. They were the type of dishes you can enjoy without worrying about calories. The lively atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food made it a fantastic restaurant filled with the essence of local Chinese cuisine. My stomach and heart were completely satisfied, and I left the restaurant feeling refreshed after a long drive.

A friend who just returned from overseas wanted to eat authentic mapo tofu, so I took them to the popular restaurant Kaishu. They were impressed by the variety of dishes on the menu and we ordered my recommended dishes such as shrimp fried rice, stir-fried greens, and boiled dumplings, along with the mapo tofu. Even though they had been to Kaishu many times before, it was their first time trying the mapo tofu and they found it to be delicious with a strong spicy flavor. The shrimp fried rice was also delicious as always with its plump shrimp. This restaurant is always crowded but the food is consistently delicious. Thank you for the meal!

This gathering was the first in about 3 and a half years. We were divided into two round tables. I'm glad we were able to secure a peaceful and safe seat. The bottled beer we ordered was properly chilled. Many places don't chill their bottles enough, but this one did a great job. Orders were taken by writing them on a piece of paper. They wanted us to write down our drinks from the second round onwards. Since no one was doing it, I ended up writing it myself. The shrimp chili here is excellent in spiciness. The dumplings had thick skin, although they were chewy and enjoyable, I would have preferred to taste more of the filling. The fried chicken was large in size, but the seasoning was rather average. The mapo tofu had a strong Sichuan peppercorn flavor, which wasn't to my liking. We ordered many other dishes, but there were no extreme disappointments. Thank you for the meal. I forgot to order sesame dumplings.

After work, I ordered a sweet and sour pork set meal for 1,500 yen for dinner. I arrived at 5:30 PM, but the popular town Chinese restaurant was almost full. I dined alone with a set meal, but other customers at nearby tables came in groups of 2, 3, or 4 and ordered various dishes to share, which looked nice. What caught my attention this time was a staff member who wore a mask but kept coughing continuously from the moment I entered until I left, which was quite concerning.

Just before lunchtime, I was able to sit without waiting in line and enjoyed the shrimp fried rice. It took me a while to decide while looking at the menu, but I had already made up my mind before entering. The fried rice, made with shrimp, was truly a masterpiece crafted by a skilled chef. It was simple yet delicious, with green onions and egg giving it a perfect finish. The soup and pickled vegetables were also made with care. Next time, I really want to try the chicken curry at this Chinese restaurant.

Twice-cooked pork has a rich flavor, but it's not overly salty. It's best to spoon a lot of it onto a bowl of rice, like the style of Gorou-san. The shrimp fried rice has large shrimp embedded in the fried rice. The taste is traditional.

I had ankake yakisoba. The combination of Koshu-style fried rice and ankake yakisoba is undeniably delicious! It was very tasty today as well. The hot sauce mixed with vegetables, seafood, and meat was delicious and made me happy. This is a Chinese restaurant in town that I want to visit regularly.

This shop is located in Chuo Ward, Sapporo City. I visited it for the first time in 25 years. I often pass by the front of the shop, but it has been a long time since I last visited. I have a very delicious memory of this place. The shop was very crowded and lively inside. I remember that the building used to be quite old, but now the interior is based on red. This time, I am dining alone, so I need to think carefully about the amount of food I can finish... I ordered Chinese-style chirashi rice and grilled dumplings since it has been a while and I wanted to try something unfamiliar. It arrived in about 15 minutes because the dumplings take some time to cook. It was topped with plenty of eggs and filled with bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, and pork. It was not sweet, and the pork seemed to be pre-cooked in oil. It tasted like ginger and oyster sauce maybe? It was delicious! I hesitated between boiled dumplings and grilled dumplings, but I chose the grilled ones. The handmade skin was thick. I ate it without dipping it in sauce, and it was delicious! The thick skin absorbed the meat juices and added a crispy flavor, making it even more delicious. I would like to visit again.

I tried the shrimp salt sauce yakisoba that was recommended on Tabelog and enjoyed it so much that I decided to bring my daughter, who loves shrimp, to the restaurant with me the following week. This time, I ordered the yakisoba with five ingredient sauce, while my daughter had the shrimp salt sauce yakisoba and we also ordered some grilled dumplings as an extra. Although not as outstanding as the shrimp salt sauce, the yakisoba was also delicious with generous portions of noodles. The flavors may not be very refined, but the shrimp was prepared well and tasty. And all of this only cost 1000 yen. The dumplings were decent, but everyone has their own preferences. I noticed they have other dishes on the menu that I would like to try, so I will definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!

It's been about a year since I last visited Koshu in Sapporo, known as the king of Chinese restaurants in town. I used to go to WINDS to place bets on horses and enjoy watching them on the TV while having delicious ankake yakisoba, small rice, and gyoza. However, recently it's been a bit tough (the gyoza is too big to finish). The noodles in the ramen, the thick ankake sauce, and the gentle flavors are still as delicious as ever. It seems like the ankake sauce has become a bit firmer than before. It's not as runny as it used to be. I don't know of any other place that serves ankake yakisoba with this type of noodles. It's delicious, and I reluctantly finished my meal. There's no shichimi togarashi on the table. I wonder why.

Sapporo, Chuo-ku, Nishi 4-chome, Minami Sanjo, Sapporo, Chuo-ku, just off Tanukikoji. A popular restaurant called "Chuka Ryori Kosyu". My last visit was in 2015, which was already 8 years ago. I have been avoiding it because it used to be a smoking-permitted restaurant. However, I recently noticed a sign saying "no smoking" has been put up. They have shifted to a non-smoking policy. So, I decided to go check it out. I went on a Sunday around 2 PM after watching a movie at Theater Kino for a late lunch. Despite it being 2 PM, there was a wait of 5 groups. As soon as I entered the restaurant, there was a waiting board where I had to write my name and wait. After about 10 minutes, I was able to enter. It's really nice to have a non-smoking environment with clean air. - Sapporo Black Label beer x2 600 yen each. - Grilled dumplings (6 pieces) 720 yen. It took a while for the dumplings to come out as the waitress mentioned, but they looked nice with a crispy surface. The skin was thick and chewy, and the filling wasn't very juicy. They provided a sauce with Japanese mustard to go with it. - Stir-fried pork and green pepper (青椒肉絲) 1250 yen. The dish had pork, green peppers, bamboo shoots, all thinly sliced. The seasoning was mild with a gentle saltiness. It would be a good dish to enjoy with drinks due to the mild saltiness. - Shrimp fried rice 1000 yen. It was a generous portion with shrimp on top of the fried rice. The seasoning was also mild, and the shrimp was prominent. The rice was a bit clumpy, lacking the crispy texture. The dish came with soup and pickled vegetables. The soup was light in color but rich in flavor. The pickled vegetables had a tasty sesame oil flavor. Looking back at my 2015 review, I realized I ordered almost the same items - beer, dumplings, and stir-fried pork. My favorite dishes haven't changed. The non-smoking policy has made it more accessible. I plan to try the curry rice next time.

Visited the restaurant with high expectations as it is ranked in the top 100. Arrived at 11 am and there were about 6 people in line ahead of me, but I was able to enter smoothly when they opened. Based on the reviews, I ordered the shrimp fried rice and dumplings. The portions were huge. Took the first bite and it wasn't hot. The flavor was a bit bland. Hoping this is not the norm. The dumplings were hot, but lacked a chewy texture. The meat juice oozed out and was juicy. The place was packed with customers, so I hope they can make a comeback.

When it comes to Chinese food in Sapporo, this place is the best! The Shojiniku (pork with green peppers) is delicious with the crispy bell peppers. The flavor is a bit strong, but it goes well with ginger ale. I really wanted to have beer though. The Ebi Chili (spicy shrimp) is so tender and juicy. It's perfect when eaten over white rice. The jellyfish salad is refreshing and crunchy. It has a unique taste that becomes addictive. I will definitely go back again!

For dinner, I visited "Chinese Cuisine Kashu" located near Tanukikoji in Minami 3 Nishi 4, Chuo-ku, Sapporo for the first time. The restaurant was quite crowded, and I was asked to share a table on the second floor, which I agreed to. However, as I went up to the second floor, a seat opened up at the right time and I was able to sit there. From the extensive menu, I ordered "Shrimp Fried Rice (1,000 yen)," "Pan-Fried Dumplings (6 pieces, 720 yen)," and "Shrimp Ankake Salt Yakisoba (1,000 yen)." After about 20 minutes, the "dumplings" arrived first, followed shortly by the "ankake yakisoba," and finally the "fried rice." The "Shrimp Fried Rice" had five large, juicy shrimp and a gentle seasoning. The "Pan-Fried Dumplings" were large and juicy with meat juices overflowing when you bite into them. The "Shrimp Ankake Salt Yakisoba" was packed with ingredients and had a strong salted sauce that coated the noodles well. All the dishes were delicious and satisfying. As I finished paying and left the restaurant, I noticed a line forming outside. It's definitely a popular place. I'm grateful that I, or my companion, were able to eat without waiting. (laughs)
