Located on the corner of the street near Tohoku Medical University, overlooking the Uchikawa River, is a commercial facility called "Machinoma" where you can find a revolving sushi restaurant called "Uobei." This was my first visit to Uobei, marking my Uobei debut. On a certain weekday around 12:40, I decided to grab some lunch and ended up at this food court where I noticed Uobei on the first floor. Without hesitation, I took the escalator down to the first floor and entered the restaurant. The place was about 70-80% full, with a noticeable number of moms with kids as customers. I chose a counter seat facing the wall. Orders were placed using a tablet, with all items priced at a flat rate of 110 yen including tax. I started with my usual order of "kohada." The sushi here doesn't rotate on a conveyor belt but is delivered on a linear lane that stops in front of the customers. The first kohada took a bit longer to arrive, about 3-4 minutes. Just when I started feeling a bit impatient, the kohada was served. It had a thin slice but was relatively large in size, with a good balance of flavors and a delicious finish. The rice portion was small, which I appreciated. Next up was the sardine (iwashi), which also had a sizable slice but lacked thickness. Despite that, the sardine had a nice aroma and tasted delicious. Following that, I ordered the ark shell (akagai). As a fan of shellfish, I usually prefer the cheaper "aoyagi," but since it wasn't on the menu and all items were priced at 110 yen, I went with the ark shell. It had a lingering taste of the sea and a good texture, making it a tasty choice. Lastly, for my fourth plate, I opted for the spicy tuna roll. The combination of the seaweed aroma and the vibrant red tuna was excellent, with a distinct tuna flavor. These four plates filled me up just right for lunch. While at other tables, a beautiful mom with a kindergarten-aged child was enjoying a beer, I had to pass on the beer since I was working and driving. Overall, the sushi here is reasonably priced at a flat rate of 110 yen per plate, with decent portion sizes and good impressions. This was my Uobei debut, and I believe I will visit again in the future.
