I visited this place because they serve vegan curry for lunch. They also have medicinal curry available. Located on the 3rd floor of a building, it has a hidden gem vibe. There is only a blackboard-like sign on the 1st floor, with a card on the door with an Instagram QR code. It feels like entering a room in an apartment. Despite the hidden nature, once it opened at the scheduled time, customers started coming in and it quickly became full. The menu offers two options: "Bakumatsu" for vegan curry and "Kowloon Head" for medicinal curry. You can choose from standard, tomato, coconut, or garlic miso soup, and select the level of spiciness from 5 levels. As a first-timer, I chose the standard curry with a medium level of spiciness, which turned out to be quite spicy. The vegetable curry arrived in a green pottery-like dish, with a mix of vegetables cooked in curry and fried ones. The rice comes with a citrus vinegar on top, to be poured over the rice. It's a light and easy-on-the-stomach soup-based curry with plenty of vegetables. I was surprised to see so many vegetables on the table, and it turns out it's part of the "We Are The Farm" group of restaurants. They have a membership system for evenings, but if you have the "Bakumatsu Curry" for lunch, you can also use it in the evening.

The standard level 3 spicy curry during the Bakumatsu period with a topping of seaweed tempura and unlimited shichimi (Japanese spice blend) rice costs 2400 yen. The price may seem higher compared to typical soup curry restaurants, but the taste surpasses it. The spiciness is around medium, like a 2 or 3 on a scale of 1 to 5. As someone else mentioned, the only downside is the asparagus fibers. Everything else is good, which makes it quite bothersome. The recommended unlimited shichimi rice is also delicious. By adding sudachi (a type of citrus fruit) and yuzu shichimi to the rice, it becomes very refreshing and pairs well with the soup curry. This is truly unlimited. I'm looking forward to trying the Kyuryu (nine-headed dragon) next time.

Although the price is around 2,000 yen, it is a luxurious meal that is definitely worth ordering. Since it does not contain any meat, it is also suitable for those who do not eat meat. Visited during the daytime on a holiday. There were no other customers initially, but it quickly became almost full. I ordered the Bakumatsu Curry with vegetable toppings, choosing level 4 spiciness as level 5 was not too spicy. The presentation was beautiful. The burdock and asparagus were quite tough and fibrous, making them a bit difficult to chew, but all the vegetables were delicious. The soup was rich and thick. The spiciness at level 4 is not too intense for those who can handle a normal spicy level. The owner was very friendly and provided great service that makes you want to come back. I would like to visit again to try the different seasonal vegetables, although I found the prices to be a bit on the higher side.

The restaurant that moved to Osaka, leaving behind a sense of regret, has been replaced in the same building by a new establishment. A collaboration between NEW ORDER and WE ARE THE FARM, the new restaurant offers a dish called "Bakumatsu" served in a clay pot at high temperature for 1,980 yen. Despite being vegan, the dish is incredibly flavorful, leaving one wondering where all the taste comes from. It is milder and creamier compared to its predecessor, with a subtle level of spiciness. The vegetables, which are deep-fried to perfection, are a highlight of the dish, all grown in-house. From the giant Daio Urugobo gobo dedicated only to Naritasan Shingonji Temple to the super sweet kale stems, the vegetables are simply delicious. As someone who usually prefers meat in their curry, the amazing taste of the vegetables in this dish makes the absence of meat irrelevant. The vegetable quality is truly unmatched in the history of soup curry!

I went to try the vegan curry with plenty of organic vegetables and I was looking forward to it. It was cooked in a clay pot, you can choose the level of spiciness, and it was so delicious that I got hooked. The kale juice was also delicious.
