I had a job that required me to stay overnight, and I couldn't sleep at all. The next day, I worked until noon and finally got off. I hadn't eaten anything during this time, and I was very hungry, so I decided to visit this ramen shop that I had been wanting to go to for a while. It is a Hakata ramen shop located near the Takase River in Sanjo. I entered the shop around 1 o'clock. At this time, they offer a ramen set that comes with rice and kimchi. Furthermore, this ramen set is priced at 650 yen, and you can order other ramen by paying the price difference. Since I was very hungry and wanted something hearty, I ordered the beef tendon ramen set. Rice and pickles were served immediately, followed by the ramen in about 2 minutes. The ramen had plenty of chashu and beef tendon meat on top. I first added a lot of pickled ginger and tasted the soup. It was a tonkotsu broth with a strong pork aroma, slightly unique in flavor. Then I tried the noodles. They were thin and firm, complementing the soup well. The beef tendon was simmered until tender, and it was really delicious. The portion was generous and paired well with the white rice. I felt very satisfied. After eating some, I added spicy miso to the soup. It enhanced the flavor, and I personally really enjoyed it. I ate the beef tendon, mixed it with rice, slurped the ramen, and sipped the soup. Before I knew it, the noodles were gone. I was starting to feel full, but I wanted more ramen, so I ordered an extra serving. The replacement noodles arrived in 1-2 minutes. I mixed them in the remaining soup, added pickled ginger and spicy miso again, and slurped the noodles. The texture was still firm and delicious. I added fried garlic bits this time. It added richness to the soup, creating a different taste. I was glad I ordered the extra serving. The replacement noodles also quickly disappeared into my stomach. It's a small shop with only a counter, but there were young women, college students, workers, and local elderly women. It was clear that this shop is well-loved by the locals. The staff were friendly, and most importantly, the ramen itself was delicious. I would like to visit this place often.

I finally got to eat Nagahama ramen that I've been wanting to try for a long time! I waited in line for a bit, but finally got to eat it. The noodles were thin and a bit firm, but very delicious. I thought it would be rich, but the soup was also delicious and I drank it all up until the end. I want to go again.

I am currently away from Kyoto, but this ramen shop was a favorite of mine over 20 years ago that I used to visit often. By chance, I had the opportunity to visit the area again and felt nostalgic, so I decided to stop by. The moment I took a bite, I thought, "Ah, this taste!" It was delicious. I wonder how many years it will be until I visit again.

Ramen for 800 yen. I heard that at a certain drinking place, the ramen portion is smaller at night, so I decided to check it out for dinner. With the increasing number of foreign visitors, the crowd included people coming from a dumpling shop. It does look like a small portion, but at first glance, it doesn't seem out of place. However, in reality, the amount of noodles is definitely on the smaller side. Personally, since I was using it as a way to end my meal, this portion was okay for me. If it's not enough, you can always just order an extra serving of noodles. It's a bit disappointing.

After finishing our meal at the first restaurant, we went to another place to drink and eat. We ended up at a popular ramen shop with no walls or windows, just indoors. We had to wait a bit for a table to open up, but eventually, we were able to sit down. I bought a ticket for a regular ramen and sat separately from my group of five. The ramen had thin noodles and a rich pork bone soup, but it was surprisingly easy to finish. I took a quick picture for my notes.

I visited on a regular night. The place is located near the 6th exit of Sanjo Station (Kyoto Municipal Subway Tozai Line) on the Keihan Electric Railway. Cross the Sanjo Ohashi Bridge and turn left at the second intersection. It's a place for a drink to end the day. Not familiar with the area, so let's try this place that caught my eye. What is Hakata Ramen like in Kyoto? The entrance of the restaurant looks spacious, and there is a ticket machine in the center when you enter. Let's go for the simple Ramen priced at 800 yen. The interior is shaped like a "U" with 8 counter seats. There are 3 groups of customers ahead of me and 3 groups behind me. I hand my ticket to the staff and take my seat. It takes about 4 minutes until the ramen is served. Let's take the tray from the counter. Oh, this is delicious! The tonkotsu soup has a rich depth of flavor. However, it is simple, not complex. The noodles are standard, not too firm. They have a good flavor. The chashu is simple but has a nice texture. I personally didn't like the spicy menma, which had a spicy flavor on soft menma. For me, this is the best Hakata Ramen. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the Char Siu Ramen for 1000 yen, but I couldn't choose the firmness of the noodles and they were too mushy. I was surprised to find Hakata Nagahama Ramen in Kyoto, but my daughter loves tonkotsu ramen so we decided to give it a try. Even though it was around 3:30 pm, there was a line and we had to wait for 10 minutes. The restaurant was small with about 6 counter seats. The pickled vegetables that came with the rice were really delicious.

I came to Miyoshi-san after a long time! If I'm in Kiyamachi, I have to stop by~ Today I was lucky to enter without waiting in line. This thin noodle tonkotsu ramen is a bowl that never gets boring no matter how many times you have it. I even added the table toppings like tempura crumbs and red pickled ginger. A ramen shop located a few minutes' walk from Sanjo Station, just down the street from the Sanjo-Kiya-machi intersection. This shop is famous for its Nagahama ramen, which was once frequented by a certain celebrity. It's a popular spot in the area, where many people come to eat after a night of drinking. I felt like I had been here before, yet at the same time, it felt new to me, so I decided to give it a try. I visited on a weekend evening around 5 pm. There was only one group of customers, so it was pretty empty. The shop has a small counter with about 7 or 8 seats, and it's very open since it's only separated from the outside by a curtain. There were bugs flying around, but it didn't bother me. I bought my meal ticket from the ticket machine near the entrance. The regular ramen was 800 yen. They also had variations with kimchi, menma, and wakame. I decided to go with the regular ramen. The ramen was served fairly quickly, and it had thin noodles. The soup didn't have the typical tonkotsu smell, which could be good or bad depending on your preference. It had a clear pork bone broth with a mild sweetness, but it lacked that strong tonkotsu flavor. It was more like a ramen with a subtle tonkotsu-like sweetness. I think people who like this style of ramen would enjoy it. Personally, I prefer a stronger tonkotsu aroma, so I found it a bit lacking in that aspect.

Ever since I was young, it was always a routine to drink in Kawaramachi and then go to Miyoshi-san for ramen before heading home. Even after 36 years have passed, this is still my go-to place for a meal after a night out. The tonkotsu ramen, which looks light but is actually quite flavorful, is easy to enjoy even after drinking. I recommend trying different toppings for added variety in flavors.

Kyoto Keihan Sanjo, "Hakata Nagahama Ramen Miyoshi" After getting completely stuffed during breakfast and lunch, we came here to finish off the day! This is the place I always choose for drinking parties in Kyoto since my student days. The beef tendon ramen here is amazing! It was around 2 pm, so the place was empty. The lady there told us to sit at the best spot at the counter because it's cooler there. She took care of everything for us, from hanging our bags to giving us recommendations. The tender beef tendon was incredibly delicious! I felt like having rice too, but I decided against it. There were various condiments on the counter, like curry powder. I tried adding some, and it changed the taste too much. This time, I just added pickled ginger. I wish this place was closer to my home. I'll definitely come back again. I ended up taking a stroll while slightly tipsy due to a delay on the Keihan train caused by a person-related accident. I have been coming here many times since a long time ago, and it's always delicious. The soup has a sweet taste that coats the thin noodles. I started by adding tempura bits and sesame from the all-you-can-eat toppings. I decided to change the flavor halfway through by adding spicy condiments and pickled ginger. I visit this restaurant every time on the last day of my trip to Kyoto. Even Gackt-sama enjoys it on his birthday. It has been a year since I last came. I only go to this ramen shop. They have introduced a ticket machine (surprise)! You can come here for lunch, dinner, anytime! The sweet and gentle soup makes it easy to keep eating. Thank you for the meal!! I went around 9 p.m. on Sunday. There were only about 2 people in the restaurant. I was seated right away. I like thin noodles, so I really enjoyed the thin noodles. The broth also coated the noodles well, which was nice. There were many different condiments available, so I didn't get tired of eating.

After visiting three different places, I decided to end my night at this old established ramen shop. I originally planned to go to a new ramen shop nearby, but it was unexpectedly closed for preparations. It had been a while since I last visited this place, so I ordered the Chashu Ramen. The broth was light with hardly any pork bone smell, and the noodles were the standard thin type. The chashu was average, neither good nor bad. Since they are open until morning, it's a good place to stop by for a late-night meal.

Bottled beer, a single order of pickled vegetables, and a beef tendon ramen to finish off with a second helping of noodles! I am completely satisfied. I like to add lots of red pickled ginger and pickled vegetables when I order a second helping, and sometimes I even sprinkle curry powder for a different flavor. Oh, it's so delicious! When I come to Kyoto, this is my favorite place to eat. It would be great if they could stay open a little later, as they close at midnight.

I lived in Hakata for 3 years, and I liked the fact that Nagahama's ramen had its own unique flavor, and that it was able to faithfully reproduce Fukuoka's tonkotsu taste. In Kansai, I thought places like Zundouya were delicious, but they lacked that authentic feel. On the other hand, this restaurant's soup had a tonkotsu flavor while being light and not too heavy. The spicy bamboo shoots, table red ginger, and white sesame seeds were also nice touches.

I love the taste of this place. It's a shop I always stop by when passing by. The noodles are thin, so you might need to order an extra serving. The spicy bamboo shoots add a nice kick to the dish. It can get crowded late at night, so I recommend going earlier. I will definitely visit again.

Sujiramen for 800 yen with an option to add rice for 50 yen. It's a good deal for lunch, so I might go once a week. The price goes up to 1000 yen for sujiramen at night, so lunch is the way to go. Today was a lucky day because instead of the usual pickles, they gave me pickled mustard greens for free. Normally, adding pickled mustard greens costs an extra 150 yen. The person who added the pickled mustard greens seemed surprised. I remembered a rumor from the past about pickled mustard greens being free, but it turned out to be due to a shortage and increased costs. Anyway, pickled mustard greens are a must for this ramen, and it really enhances the flavor. The restaurant is still less crowded than before COVID-19, so now is a good time to visit.
