I entered before noon and was able to get in easily. The first floor has mainly counter seats with about 3 tables, and there are also seats on the second floor. I had the sushi and soba set. It came with a small side dish, and the price was cheap at 1000 yen including tax. The sushi rolls included tuna, salmon, shrimp, white fish, and others. The chef prepared them right in front of the counter. It was delicious. You can choose between hot or cold soba. I had the cold soba with broth. The soba noodles were not very firm. After 12 o'clock, it seemed like there were quite a few more customers coming in.

Lunch at Tamacho's sushi izakaya ❤️ Ordered "13 pieces of sushi + thick roll + inari sushi" which was quite filling, and also tried the "chef's choice extra large assorted sushi" ❤️ A variety of classic members like tuna, yellowtail, salmon, squid, and shrimp were all deliciously prepared ❤️ For lunch, it came with a side dish of simmered hijiki seaweed and a miso soup with plenty of seaweed ❤️ Enjoyed it all very much ❤️

Squeezing lemon over it added a refreshing taste. The grated dried fish and sesame dressing, as well as the green chili pepper, were also tasty. I went to the sushi izakaya Nihonkai in Shibaura 5-chome on June 8, 2022. Today is also a non-alcohol day, so I had some oolong tea. I had water eggplant sashimi, kochi and kinmedai sashimi. The kinmedai was delicious, but the kochi was even better. I also had hamo and asparagus tempura, bitter melon tempura, juicy fried corn, sweet rolled omelette, skewered beef, fried river shrimp, salmon belly grilled, juicy tekka maki, eel and spear squid sushi, octopus tempura, thick fried tofu, grilled flounder, kombu-marinated fish, and squid sushi with horse mackerel. It seems like you really like squid! It must be tough to keep up with drinking oolong tea and green tea. It's probably quite a challenge for non-drinkers to attend drinking parties. In recent years, there have been news reports about a shortage of "shirasu" (whitebait) in Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay, and I was starting to think that I might not be able to find any "fresh shirasu" this year. However, I came across a sign outside a restaurant that said "fresh shirasu of the day"! "Sushi Izakaya Nihonkai" in Mita. This restaurant is part of the Nihonkai Group, which operates over ten affordable Edomae sushi and conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Tokyo. Originally a fish wholesaler in Tsukiji Market, they now procure their fish daily from Toyosu Market. The name of the restaurant may be more fitting as "Tokyo Bay" rather than "Nihonkai" (Japan Sea), but it is what it is. This restaurant is a great option for those looking for affordable fresh fish in the Tamachi and Mita area. You can enjoy sushi made by the chef right in front of you, giving you the feeling of being in a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant. There are also some people enjoying daytime drinking. I ordered the daily special, "fresh shirasu bowl with dried mackerel" for 980 yen. The shiny and translucent fresh shirasu was delicious, just as good as eating it right where it was caught. I heard that there has been a good catch of shirasu in the Shonan area around Golden Week, so that's a relief. Their lunch special, the "chef's choice sushi large portion" for 1280 yen, is a popular choice. It offers decent quality sushi at an affordable price, like fast food sushi. The "premium sushi set" is also 1280 yen!

I went for lunch during work hours. I had the daily special which was tempura rice bowl. The tempura bowl was bigger than expected, with 2 shrimp tempura, as well as fish, eggplant, peppers, sweet potato, and more. The portion of rice was also quite large, and I left feeling full. It's common for lunch places to be self-service, but surprisingly it was good.

On the final day of 2021, the Mita area is mostly closed. Only chain stores are open. As expected, for some reason, I feel like eating sushi. I had the omakase sushi set for 980 yen at the sushi izakaya Nihonkai. They recommended tea, but the Super Dry beer was cold and delicious! The omakase sushi set was also tasty. The miso soup with seaweed was good too. Feeling light and fluffy, I look forward to the upcoming events. Have a great New Year everyone!

There is a restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from JR Tamachi Station. It is situated on a side street off the main road. I visited in the evening and enjoyed delicious fish dishes. I highly recommend trying the bonito, which is only available during this season. The classic tataki dish is also delicious, so be sure to give it a try.

I went to the sushi izakaya Nihonkai in Shibakoen for the sashimi assortment with fried chicken set. The sashimi assortment included bonito, but the freshness was good while the fat content was lacking. The rice was a bit dry, which was disappointing. After the meal, I enjoyed self-serve coffee (hot or iced). Thank you for the meal!

After finishing a meeting in Tamachi that started from Asaichi, the morning was busy, but then the 11:30 meeting got canceled, so I thought why not go out for lunch. In the midst of the pandemic, the spacious floor was only occupied by a few important-looking individuals. Feeling a bit lonely, I invited someone along, and we ended up at this restaurant that allows smoking, as requested by the other person. I hadn't had sushi for lunch in a while, so it was fine with me. I let the other person order first and they rushed to the smoking area on the second floor. I took my time looking at the menu and eventually decided on the seafood bowl (980 yen). It seemed like a decent deal as it came with complimentary coffee. The restaurant was quiet, probably because it was still before the lunch rush. My seafood bowl arrived with various toppings like tuna and salmon. The taste was average, but the portion size was satisfying for the price. I finished with a self-serve iced coffee before leaving. Overall, despite the average taste, I felt content with the self-serve experience at the restaurant.

We visited the restaurant around 12:30 on Sunday with two people. Since Mita is a business and student town, it seems to be less crowded on Sundays. Despite it being lunchtime, there were plenty of empty seats. The interior has a chain restaurant feel to it. There are seating areas on the 1st and 2nd floors, and we were seated at a table on the 1st floor. We ordered the chef's choice sushi large serving and the salmon, medium fatty tuna, and green onion rice bowl. The lunch menu comes with dried radish, steamed egg custard, and miso soup, which is quite luxurious. The steamed egg custard had a good dashi flavor and was delicious. The sushi consisted of 15 pieces, with an unusual addition of inari sushi and for some reason, 2 pieces of tuna red meat. The taste was average. The salmon, medium fatty tuna, and green onion rice bowl had well-marbled salmon and tuna with a nice sweetness, and it paired well with the wasabi soy sauce. The lunch set, when combined with the side dishes, offered good value for money. However, the way they served tea by putting tea leaves in a soy sauce container felt a bit lacking in finesse, even for a chain restaurant.

I visited around 18:30 on a regular day. I sat at the counter as a solo diner and started with a beer. I ordered "fresh mackerel sashimi," "octopus tempura," "boiled komatsuna greens," and "vinegared seaweed." For my next drink, I had a green tea highball, and for a light bite, I tried the "fatty tuna roll" and "pickled cucumber roll." To finish off, I had the "Bon Tokishirazu" sake. The atmosphere became a bit quieter when the manager changed, but it's a welcoming place for solo diners!

On a Sunday afternoon, I strolled around the Tamachi area and decided to visit "Nihonkai Mita" for lunch. Upon entering the restaurant, it had a typical sushi restaurant atmosphere. I took a seat at the counter and checked out the menu. The lunch menu had a variety of options that didn't seem too sushi-like. After some deliberation, I ordered the "Seafood Chirashi Bowl" (950 yen). After placing my order, the awaited chirashi bowl was served. I dug in right away. The taste was decently good, nothing extraordinary. After the meal, the chef informed me that coffee was self-service. It was a surprise coffee time at a sushi restaurant. I hope to enjoy the nigiri sushi service on my next visit in the evening.

I had a meeting in the morning and then went out for a sushi lunch to welcome a new employee. Sushi for lunch feels fancy and nice. The sushi itself could have had a bit more vinegar taste in the rice, but overall it was satisfying.

I always visit this restaurant on weekends for lunch. It's a hidden gem for me because I can leisurely enjoy my favorite dishes. The scallops are big and satisfying. I really like the shirasu salad. It's quite crowded on weekdays, so I prefer going on weekends.

I found a place where you can have a daytime drink and decided to go in. They only serve sashimi and sushi during lunch, probably because they only have one person in the kitchen. The sashimi and sushi were delicious and reasonably priced!
