I went to the Bestree Shop La Boutique located at the entrance of the restaurant in Tokyo Midtown, The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo in Roppongi. I heard that you can also eat the sweets from the Towers restaurant here, so I came to try them. There were only two tables, and one was reserved, but luckily I got a seat. I ordered the Hazelnut Millefeuille with today's sorbet. The Hazelnut Millefeuille with today's sorbet is a representative menu item of this shop, as the staff informed me. The millefeuille is served in a collapsed state, with a two-layer custard. The pie crust is thick, with hazelnut sauce on the plate and today's apple sorbet on top. The pie crust is thick but has many layers, making it crispy and delicious. The baked aroma is strong, and the nutty flavor is also prominent. Adding the hazelnut sauce enhances the richness. The custard cream is smooth and creamy, with a strong sweetness but a refreshing taste. The apple sorbet is refreshing with a nice balance of sweetness and gentle acidity.

I went to La Boutique, the pastry shop on the 43rd floor of The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo in Tokyo Midtown. They used to sell square cakes, but since September last year, they have been selling macarons in collaboration with Pierre Hermé. There is a small café space where you can enjoy the sweets you purchase. I had some tea as there were seats available. I ordered the Infiniment Rose Arabesque Darjeeling. The Infiniment Rose is a classic macaron flavor created by Pierre Hermé in 1986. It has a rich rose flavor that pairs well with the chewy texture of the macaron. The Arabesque is a macaron filled with apricot pieces and white chocolate ganache. The sweet apricot flavor and creamy white chocolate taste complement each other perfectly. The crunchy texture of the pistachio pieces adds a nice touch. For my drink, I ordered Darjeeling. It had a refreshing aroma and tasted delicious. They even gave me a raspberry chocolate as a bonus. It had a crispy outer layer and a gooey inside with a delightful sweet and sour raspberry flavor. The service was great, and they even offered a refill.

The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo, located in Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi, has a pastry shop called La Boutique on the 45th floor lobby. The entrance is the same as the hotel's French restaurant Azure Forty-Five, which has also earned a Michelin star. You can buy pastries to go or enjoy them in the dedicated seating area. I ordered the Pairing for 2,950 yen, which includes sweets, chocolates, and a drink. The White Forest Sweets were a Christmas limited edition, featuring a white cube shape with a cute chocolate Christmas tree on the corner. The cube consists of white chocolate mousse, rose flavor, balsamic berry compote, pistachio, and sponge. The sweet white chocolate flavor combined with the tangy balsamic berry compote was delicious. The Christmas tree made of green chocolate had a bitter taste. I chose the Orange Chocolate from the selection of about 10 flavors, which had a crispy texture and a prominent orange flavor. For the drink, I opted for Darjeeling, which had a refreshing aroma and a light, easy-to-drink taste.

I visited a restaurant that I had been interested in for a while after having lunch nearby. At first, I was mistakenly directed to the lounge area, but after showing a photo for confirmation, I was guided in the opposite direction. The pairing of coffee with hazelnut mille-feuille was priced at ¥2950, with Mandheling Lintong coffee. The single option of Emerald Mountain coffee was priced at ¥2600, made from Colombian beans that account for less than 3% of the total production. Even though I am not very knowledgeable about coffee, I could tell the difference when I tried both. The Emerald Mountain coffee was truly exceptional, with a smooth and elegant aroma. The mille-feuille was slightly sweet and looked very cute, making it almost a shame to eat it. I chose fig chocolate, and I was delighted to have a variety of options to choose from. It was nice to enjoy the coffee in a relaxed atmosphere while also being able to appreciate the view.

The Don Peri shaved ice that was rumored to be amazing turned out to be not as great as expected, so we decided to visit another place based on my friend's love for cakes. It had only been a week since our last visit on July 31st, and now it was August 5th! We really liked it, that's why! Last time, a handsome waiter informed us that the pineapple cake would be available until today, and from August, they would switch to a peach cake, so we had to try it! We couldn't get a table at the spacious Love Tique this time, so we were seated at Towers. Lucky us! Towers was also on our list, but we never expected to get a seat like this with such a great view! Right in front of us was the Tokyo Tower! We ordered the Peach Gateau Bois Jour and Pinot Noir from Love Tique, and they were delicious. The Pinot Noir in a luxury hotel is always amazing. However, the peach cake we wanted to try didn't quite live up to the excitement of the pineapple cake. Maybe my preference leans more towards peach cake, but they were sold out or not available that day. After finishing our cake and the first glass of wine, the waiter at Towers asked if we wanted another drink. We were enjoying the atmosphere, so we decided to go for a second round! Even though we had dessert and wine, we didn't feel like having more wine, so we considered a cocktail. The waiter then suggested their original craft beer, which my partner enjoyed, while I opted for the Towers Moscow Mule, which was delicious with a hint of ginger. The hospitality at a top restaurant like this is exceptional, with light-hearted conversations adding to the pleasant experience. Although we ended up reviewing Love Tique, Towers might have been the better choice. But we will definitely come back to Towers for a proper meal next time! This time, the review is for Love Tique.

I visited during lunch on a holiday. The pastry shop on the 45th floor of The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo is run by Chef Jimmy Boulay. It was strange that this was the only shop in the hotel that was not an official store, but the receipt had the name of the adjacent tower written on it, so internally it may be considered the same shop even though it appears as a separate store on the website. Items purchased (excluding tax): - Hazelnut Napoleon (800 yen) x3.8 - Coconut & Lime Verrine (950 yen) x3.7 - Peach Cake (1,100 yen) x3.6 - Peach Gâteau de Voyage (1,000 yen) x3.4 - Sesame Lemon Pyramid (800 yen) x3.3 - Chocolate Cake (1,000 yen) x2.9 The cakes were large, but the prices were high, mostly over 1,000 yen including tax, so the cost performance was not great.

Recently, the trend of afternoon tea at hotels seems to be declining, so I was looking for a place that offers delicious sweets that are more unique. I found it at the 45th floor of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, where the La Boutique opened in March 2018. The sweets are all cube-shaped, with flavors like seasonal peach and chocolate. I was intrigued by the presentation and decided to try the unique pyramid-shaped tart called Sesame Lemon Pyramid Tart, which is a collaboration with the Louvre art exhibition currently held at the National Art Center. The quality of the dessert exceeded my expectations, with layers of sesame mousse, lemon marmalade, tart crust, and almond cream. The location on the 45th floor offers a luxurious atmosphere, and the staff's service was impeccable. I look forward to trying their next seasonal cakes. La Boutique at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo on the 45th floor offers a variety of cube-shaped cakes and homemade chocolates for dine-in or takeout. The signature cube-shaped fruit cakes are visually appealing and bursting with the freshness of real fruits. You can also pair the sweets with carefully selected coffees from around the world or top-class sweet wines. Enjoy a unique sweet experience with a breathtaking view from the 45th floor.

This spring, the 45th floor of the newly renovated Ritz-Carlton Tokyo in Roppongi opened as a pastry shop with the entrance of a Michelin-starred French restaurant. You can enjoy the pastries and chocolates as takeout along with wine while overlooking Roppongi from the 45th floor. The pastry and wine pairing set menu is recommended, where you can choose from 8 pastries, 9 chocolates, and 3 dessert wines. One of the pastries, the Sesame Lemon Pyramid Tart, has a subtle sesame and lemon flavor with a rich and voluminous texture. The chocolates include Yuzu, which pairs well with the wines offered. The location is directly connected to Tokyo Midtown from Roppongi Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and Toei Oedo Line. The prices may be on the higher side, but the experience of enjoying Michelin-starred pastries and wine while taking in the breathtaking view of Roppongi from the 45th floor makes it worth it.

I always wanted to try this restaurant that offers cake and wine pairing. For my birthday dinner in 2018, I wanted to go to my favorite Azure 45, but it was closed for renovations. Finally, after the renovations were completed, this new restaurant opened. I was excited to finally visit the Ritz-Carlton again after a long time. The atmosphere at the Ritz is always so nice, one of my favorite hotels. After having dinner at the famous Chinese restaurant Torafune in Roppongi, we decided to have dessert at this place. The restaurant is located on the 45th floor and offers a great view. The staff explained everything in detail. I opted for wine pairing, while my partner chose coffee pairing. The coffee was surprisingly delicious! They brewed it right in front of us, and it was aromatic and smooth, just the way I like it. We were so captivated by the staff's explanation and coffee-making process that we made him a bit nervous with our intense gaze. We then chose our cakes from the display case. I picked the seasonal pineapple cake, while my partner chose the coconut lime verrine. As for the chocolate, we left it to the staff to choose one that would pair well with the wine and cake. I was quite drunk by then, so I don't remember what chocolate we had. But the cakes and chocolate were all delicious! The wine we had was Muscat Beaumes de Venise. It was such a luxurious and delightful experience. The pineapple cake was filled with fluffy sponge and cinnamon mousse, creating a perfect blend of flavors. After drinking a lot, why do we always crave creamy desserts? The acidity of the pineapple and the hint of cinnamon kept it interesting. I will definitely come back for more dessert. Next time, I want to try the peach cake!

I went to have a meeting at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo in Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi. After the meeting, I visited the newly opened pastry shop that was renovated in March. The pastry shop is called "La Boutique" and is located just past the reception of the Azure 45 restaurant and Modern Bistro Towers. Upon entering, there is a showcase of sweets on the right and table seating on the left. There are two large 4-person tables. The tables are adorned with flowers and have a luxurious feel. Sweets and drinks can be ordered individually, but there is also a pairing set available which includes Grand Cru coffee, pastries, and chocolates. I chose Mandheling Lington, Pineapple Cake, Passion Coco Bourbon Amarello, Chocolate, and Yuzu. Mandheling Lington is a hand-dripped coffee with a refreshing taste and a distinctive Mandheling aftertaste. The Pineapple Cake is visually appealing with a yellow color. It consists of pineapple compote, caramel, cinnamon mousse, ginger, and crunchy biscuit. The cake is soft with a strong caramel sweetness, complemented by ginger and cinnamon flavors. The Pineapple compote adds a sourness that spreads throughout the palate, and the crunchy biscuit provides a complex and intricate impression. The Coco Bourbon Amarello, Chocolate, and Yuzu coffee is a blend of Brazilian Arabica beans known for their sweet aroma and unique Amarello beans that turn yellow when fully ripe. The hand-dripped coffee is refreshing with a hint of acidity. The Chocolate pastry is a white cube with lines that contains 64% dark chocolate mousse, vanilla cream, passion fruit compote, and salted chocolate biscuit. The bitter chocolate, strong passion fruit acidity, and sweet vanilla flavors combine beautifully, with the salted chocolate biscuit providing a crunchy accent. The Bonbon Chocolates offer a choice of 15 flavors, and I chose Yuzu. The Yuzu flavor complements the bitter chocolate well, providing a delicious combination. Mandheling Lington, Pineapple Cake, and Passion Coco Bourbon Amarello are all delightful choices. Mandheling Lington is made from beans from the Rington Nifta region in Indonesia, offering a distinct Mandheling bitterness and flavor. The Pineapple Cake is visually striking and has a sour taste, with pineapple compote, caramel, cinnamon mousse, ginger, and crunchy biscuit. The Passion Coco Bourbon Amarello coffee is refreshing with a hint of acidity.

Opened in March, the Chocolat & Patisserie Gâteau on the 45th floor of The Ritz-Carlton features all cube-shaped desserts, adding a stylish touch. Located at the entrance of AZUR 45, the small showcase displays these unique cube-shaped desserts that definitely stand out. Although the selection of gâteaux is limited, they come at a high price, requiring some courage for a bulk purchase. This time, I tried the Caramel & Pecan Millefeuille Pie, consisting of pie crust, caramel cream, pecan praline, and caramel Chantilly. While the website listed it at 700 yen, it actually costs 900 yen (excluding tax). Despite the high price, this cake is undeniably delicious with its flaky pie crust, fluffy sweet Chantilly, and rich caramel flavor. It's a satisfying main dish of desserts, and I would love to try the other gâteaux despite their high prices.

With the dining renovation at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo in Roppongi Midtown, the chocolate and pastry boutique "La Boutique" has opened. Located on the 45th floor, the view is amazing, and the interior design with stripe patterns is striking. The cakes and chocolates are also designed in a cubic shape. The cakes inspired by seasonal Japanese fruits are a must-try. They offer not only coffee and tea but also wine pairings, making you want to visit again and again.
