My husband and I went out to Kichijoji after a long time. I noticed that there weren't too many people lining up for Satou's menchi-katsu, so I thought it might be a good chance. But then my husband pointed to the stairs next to it and said we should go there today. So we ended up going to Steak Satou. There were 3 table seats and a counter seat. I prefer the counter seat where you can sit side by side rather than the small table seat, so I was thrilled to sit in front of the teppan grill where I could see the steak being cooked. When we entered, I was planning to go for the 1,700 yen weekday lunch, but after seeing the steak being cooked in front of me, I ended up choosing the 4,000 yen steak course. It was really delicious.

I have been coming to this restaurant for a quarter of a century. I usually order the cut steak lunch, but today I tried the ancient beef lunch, which was a masterpiece cooked carefully on the iron plate with the quality of a butcher. You can also get rice refills, and although the shop is small and it's hard to relax, it's a wonderful place!

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening just past 5 PM when they opened. There were already a couple of groups inside, but there was one empty table available. I wanted to try the aged beef recommended by the restaurant, but the $120 course I had before was sold out, so I decided to go for the recommended cut of aged beef with an extra 10g, totaling 160g. By the time I left, this option was also sold out, so it seems like a limited quantity menu item. I started with a salad before moving on to the meat, and rice was served as well. I appreciated the vegetable-first approach as it prevents a sudden spike in blood sugar levels. After a short wait, the meat arrived, accompanied by plenty of grilled vegetables, which was a nice touch. I first tried the meat with pink rock salt, and the sweetness of the fat combined with the salt was irresistible. Even though I was only using salt, the meat had a strong flavor that made the rice go down easily. Next, I tried the meat with fruit sauce, which had its own sweetness, but it didn't interfere with the meat's flavor; instead, they complemented each other and made the rice even more enjoyable. I was told that the fruit sauce is popular among female customers. When I asked, the staff said I could have more sauce, which was reassuring. The meat was delicious, and the meal was satisfying. By the time I finished eating, the course I ordered was also sold out, so aged beef seems to be quite a rare find. I look forward to visiting regularly in the future.

I went for a walk in Kichijoji and had lunch at a steakhouse butcher shop. Mr. Satou, who is famous for his marbled minced cutlets, runs this steakhouse. I chose the generous portion of "ancient beef" sliced grilled meat. It came with salad, rice, miso soup, and pickles. It was said to be made by slicing and grilling the "ancient beef" from Tajima lineage. I left feeling full and satisfied.

I recently had my debut at a steakhouse run by "Satou," known for their popular round minced cutlet. Back in college, I couldn't afford steak, so I used to buy delicious roasted pork as a side dish. The second floor was almost full when I arrived at 7:30 pm on a weekday, as the number of seats is limited. I recommend making a reservation if you prefer a counter seat where you can enjoy watching the cooking process. I was looking forward to trying the ancient beef from Tajima lineage, which has a low melting point and the fat melts quickly! Those who enjoy marbled meat will surely be delighted! I was worried if 150g would be enough for a big eater like me, but the rich flavor of the lean meat combined with the sweet marbling quickly filled me up. By changing the taste with two types of sauce, I was able to enjoy every bite until the last one! The wine goes well with the meat, but be careful not to drink too much as the stairs are steep. Menu: - Matsuzen (Steak 150g/Salad/Rice/Miso soup/Pickles) - Oolong tea - White wine (Vinious Chardonnay) Thank you for the delicious meal.

I made a reservation for two on a regular night and visited for the first time. It is conveniently located very close to Kichijoji Station. Located on the second floor of the popular queue restaurant "Kichijoji Satou," known for its Kichijoji specialty "original Maru Menchi Katsu," this steakhouse offers lunch starting from 2000 yen and dinner starting from 3000 yen, where you can easily enjoy the overwhelming meat quality of Steak Hyakumeiten 2021. As you climb the stairs, you will find counter seats where you can watch teppanyaki right in front of you, as well as table seats. On this day, we ordered the Matsuzen course for 7000 yen. The steak was a generous portion of 150g! The rich sweetness and umami made the fat melt in your mouth, making it an exquisite dish! It was delicious on its own, and it was also tasty with the gentle sweetness of the fruit sauce or the refreshing vegetable sauce. The rice was delicious, and the fact that you could get free refills was great. I definitely want to visit again.

I wanted to eat delicious meat, so I visited this restaurant for lunch on my day off. The entrance is narrow and the stairs are steep, so be careful! The restaurant has a limited number of seats and is quite compact, almost full with people coming and going constantly. I wanted to treat myself, so I ordered the steak set meal and I was very satisfied with being able to enjoy various cuts of meat. The rice was so delicious. It was great to see the cooking right in front of me. We enjoyed the Matsunozara course (7000 yen) at Weldan along with a glass of Robert Mondavi wine. The seating is limited on the second floor of the butcher shop, but the space is beautiful and comfortable. Next time, we would like to dine at the counter seats where we can enjoy teppanyaki right in front of us.

I visited this restaurant for lunch after a long time. I ordered the steak lunch with a rare cut for 4,000 yen. My companion wanted the fillet, so we went with that. It was delicious... but I'm not sure if it's worth the price. There are probably other places where you can get a similar meal for 1,000 yen less. The restaurant is very small, so the staff is always close by, which can make you feel a bit uncomfortable. Also, the attitude of the staff seems to vary depending on the person. According to my companion, who goes there 2-3 times a month, the rice is sometimes not cooked well and the staff's response is not always good. But they say that's just how it is at "Sato," a famous place in Kichijoji.

I decided to use the GoToEat Tokyo paper meal vouchers at a certain restaurant, but when I arrived, the restaurant was no longer there. Oh well, that's life during these times, right? So, I ended up using the vouchers at other places little by little. Surprisingly, they didn't decrease much. And the expiration date is the 25th of this month, so I got a bit worried. So, I went to Steakhouse Sato in Kichijoji, which I had wanted to try for a while, and had a great lunch! I climbed the steep stairs and entered the small restaurant. Most of the customers were elderly. I ordered the Sato Steak 250g, which is black wagyu beef rump cooked medium rare. It was incredibly tender and flavorful. The sauces and seasonings provided were also excellent. I also tried the Chef's Choice Steak Set, which was filet steak cooked to perfection. The meal was delicious and satisfying. The service was perfect, and I left feeling happy and content. I will definitely come back again!

A famous butcher shop in Kichijoji with a restaurant on the second floor! When I entered, almost all the seats were taken, but I managed to get a seat at the right time. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the meat is excellent! The taste is outstanding! If you want to treat yourself to a luxurious lunch or meet up with friends, this is the place to go. Although you can't linger for too long, the food is definitely worth it. They offer amazing lunch options, it was delicious!

The provided black seven spice with the scent of sansho pepper and a spicy kick is a nice accent. The plenty of bean sprouts and sweet carrots as side dishes are delicious, and the salad is included, making it a healthy meal. Kichijoji is crowded with people. The restaurant is located very close to Kichijoji Station. The customers are families, couples, and men. The reviewer arrived at 10:55 and started lining up. They were able to enter on the first round of lining up. They ordered the salt steak (without rice) for ¥2000. The reviewer enjoyed watching the steak being cooked on the iron plate in front of them. Even though it was a Saturday, there wasn't much of a line, maybe because summer is approaching. The steak they received was juicy and delicious, not needing any additional condiments. They also liked that they could have it without rice. The reviewer appreciated the attention to detail with seasonings like Kyoto's black seven spice. Overall, they found the meal to be delicious.

We received a request to eat steak, so we went to Mr. Sato in Kichijoji. We tried their ancient beef loin, which is raised like Matsusaka beef. We asked for it to be cooked medium rare, with a crispy outside and juicy inside. We tried a few rare pieces, but the fat was too much for us to eat 200g. The sweet fat goes well with rice. The miso soup was delicious, so we both ordered more even though it was extra. We drank red wine in a glass while enjoying a 1-hour dinner.

They offer high-priced menu items, with some steaks costing over 10,000 yen, making it a truly authentic steakhouse. This time, I ordered the "Lunch Menu/Umezen" (3,000 yen tax included). While they also had a 120g diced steak for 2,000 yen, I decided to splurge a bit and chose the 150g steak. When the dish arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of meat, which got me excited. First, I had the salad, which had a good balance of tomatoes, cucumbers, and dressing. A well-prepared side dish often raises expectations for the main course. The steak, made with black wagyu beef, was truly delicious and juicy! Every bite was filled with meat juices, creating a blissful moment. The two sauces complemented the dish well, but eating it with just salt was also enjoyable. As expected, the quality was much higher than that of family restaurants or chain stores. I enjoyed the accompanying vegetables, free refills of Koshihikari rice, and miso soup as well. I finished every last bite! It was a long time since I had such a luxurious lunch. Although I don't come here often, I would like to revisit for another indulgent meal when I have the chance. This teppanyaki restaurant is the best. I have tried everything on the menu from bottom to top. They sometimes have recommendations like Chateaubriand that are not on the menu but posted separately on the wall. The best meat I have ever had in my life is definitely the Chateaubriand here. It's a butcher shop, so you can trust the quality and taste. My go-to dish is the daily recommendation. When ordering, they will ask about the cut, tenderness, and characteristics, and if it's not to your liking, they will offer a different cut. Highly recommended when you want to eat delicious meat quickly. Before COVID, there were a lot of foreign tourists, especially Chinese, lining up, but now you can almost always get in without waiting. It might be a good idea to go now while it's not crowded. Occasionally, as shown in the photos, there are discounts. Sometimes they offer discounts of 40% or 50%, and of course, I choose that option when available.

There is a butcher shop on the first floor that always has a line, and this restaurant is their direct store. It is a small restaurant with a counter seating for 4 and 3 tables. The "Ancient Beef Slices" dish (including tax: 2,000 yen) is packed with the savory flavor of the meat and goes well with rice.

The female staff were nice, but the male staff in the kitchen were not very friendly. We ordered the cheapest chicken meat and got salad and pickles first. They had two types of sauce and rock salt available. The meat itself lacked flavor and was watery, poorly cooked, and had a bad texture. They didn't ask how we wanted it cooked. Overall, it was the worst wagyu beef I've ever had. The guy cooking had a bad attitude, so I give it 1 star.
