After lightly starting at "Takoichi," I looked around for other nice restaurants, but they all had last orders at 11:30 pm and closed at midnight, so I had to give up. Just two minutes before closing time at midnight, I jumped into "Menya Bizaru," a popular shop known for its rich Kyoto chicken white soup ramen. I bought a ticket for the signature dish, the "Rich Kyoto Chicken White Soup Ramen," and took a seat at the counter at the back of the shop. It was almost closing time, but there were two women already enjoying their bowls. After pouring myself some water from the self-serve water server, my bowl arrived within 4-5 minutes. The white ceramic bowl was filled with a rich-looking Kyoto chicken white soup. The toppings included three slices of seared chicken thigh char siu, one Kyoto chicken dumpling, diced onions, white onions, chopped wood ear mushrooms, and Kujonegi (Japanese leek). The extremely delicious soup surpassed even my favorite chicken white soup from "Tenten Yu." The perfectly cooked medium-thick straight noodles had a great chew to them. I enjoyed adding "Kuro Shichimi" and "Sansho" from "Gen Ryo Kakko" on top of my chopsticks for extra flavor. It was a satisfying meal that ended my first day in Kyoto on a high note, despite the ups and downs at the start.

I was intrigued by a sign that read "Rich Chicken White Broth Ramen," so I visited the restaurant at night. I wondered what kind of ramen it was, so I carefully read the sign in front of the shop. It mentioned that the rich chicken white broth uses chicken from Miyazaki Prefecture, so it doesn't seem to have any relation to Kyoto. When I entered the shop, there was a ticket machine. For some reason, the ticket machine was shaking. There were buttons for white or black rich chicken white broth ramen, and I found it interesting that you could choose between white and black even though it's white broth. I asked the staff, and they explained that white is salt and black is soy sauce. I thought it would be fine to choose between salt and soy sauce instead of white and black, but I ordered the white rich chicken white broth ramen. How many minutes did I have to wait? I waited quite a bit. There were people waiting outside the entrance as well, so it felt like a ramen shop that was shooting itself in the foot and lowering its turnover rate. The ramen finally arrived, and it looked elegant and beautiful. The soup had a slightly thick sweetness that stood out, but personally, I felt like it was lacking depth or some kind of spiciness. The noodles were round and medium-thin straight noodles that easily mixed with the soup. The toppings included leeks, wood ear mushrooms, chicken meatballs, chicken chashu, and more. I see, many ramen shops in Kyoto claim to use Kujo leeks and other Kyoto vegetables in their ingredients, so that's why it's called Kyoto chicken white broth ramen. The most memorable thing for me was that the chicken meatballs were delicious when mixed with the soup. Thank you for the meal.

Chuka soba, treated by my senior. Visited with a rating of 3.57 on Tabelog. No parking available. Used it as the last stop for a drinking party. I went after 10 pm and it was quite crowded. I had drunk quite a bit so I don't remember the taste very well, but I have a good impression that it was delicious.

I chose the rich chicken broth ramen, with the option of choosing between white or black broth, and between salt or soy sauce. I chose salt, and the ramen was delicious with a perfect level of saltiness, just as the name "rich" suggests. The flavored egg was also top-notch, complementing the rich soup perfectly. I definitely want to try all the menu items here.

After drinking forbidden ramen... How many years has it been? As expected, the next day my weight had increased significantly. But it was so delicious that I have no regrets. I wanted to eat a little more after drinking, so I bought a ticket for the "Special Rich Tsuru Shiro Broth Ramen" for 1050 yen (including 10% tax) and waited with anticipation. The thick and rich soup coats the thin noodles perfectly - delicious. Oh, I should have added some green onions on top.

I visited Miteru for lunch. It was Saturday at 2 pm, and there were only two customers, possibly due to the late hour. I purchased the super-rich chicken white broth ramen for ¥950 from the ticket machine, then ordered. The cooking was done by what seemed to be a student part-time worker, which lowered my expectations. The dish was served shortly after, starting with their famous soup. It was indeed made without any pork bones, simmered for a long time with only chicken and aromatic vegetables, but the seasoning seemed light, resulting in an overall mild flavor. They provided black seven-spice for those who wanted it, even though they mentioned black eight-spice. The noodles were thin straight noodles, nothing outstanding. While the ramen was rich, it lacked distinctive features.

I ordered the spicy miso ramen. You can choose the level of spiciness, and I chose the regular level, but it wasn't spicy at all. I should have made it spicier. I should have asked how spicy it was before choosing. The soup was very rich and delicious. In the menu photo, I thought there were onions on top, but there were only regular green onions. Maybe I misread the menu photo? I'm not sure. I don't eat onions or green onions often, so I was expecting them without reason. The noodles weren't too firm. It might be because the soup was very thick.

Around 3 o'clock, I visited when the lunch rush had calmed down. I had high expectations because I remembered how delicious the food was from a few years ago, and the Gion branch I visited recently was also delicious. I ordered a light bonito broth dish, and it was indeed delicious, bringing back nostalgic feelings and happiness. However, at the time when the staff changed, a new staff member seemed to stay hidden in the back without looking at the customers. Perhaps it's because of the ticket system. Even when I was getting ready to leave, they didn't greet me and just stayed in the back. Seeing their lack of interest in customers leaving made me go from feeling grateful for the delicious food to feeling disappointed in an instant.

The rich chicken broth is creamy and rich. It is similar to Tenkaippin in direction, but lacks spiciness, so the flavor is a bit dull. With Tenkaippin, you would want to add ramen sauce or spicy garlic, but there are no appropriate table seasonings. The staff's service is good.

It was pouring rain, so I didn't feel like walking around outside much and decided to visit this shop right after coming up from underground. I entered through a narrow entrance and bought a ticket at the ticket machine on the left. I ordered the "Rich Chicken Ramen with Flavored Egg in Salt Broth" (880 yen). The interior of the shop had a counter in the shape of a "C" and there were about 5 customers ahead of me, but I was seated without having to wait. It took about 15 minutes from ordering to when the ramen was served. The soup was a mild chicken white broth without any unpleasant smell, and the toppings were simple and delicious. The flavored egg had a soy sauce-based flavor, which was a bit too strong for the gentle salt-based soup, so that was a downside. If the flavored egg had been seasoned with just salt or soy sauce, it would have been a 4-star rating. The flavored egg itself was tasty, but the overall balance was a bit off. After walking about 15km in Kyoto, I got hungry and searched for a hotel around 5:00 PM, then entered! The restaurant was practically empty, with only one other person besides myself. I ordered a bottle of beer and a rich chicken broth ramen with seasoned egg. Maybe it was because of the 15km walk, but I finished all the rich soup and noodles completely!

The entrance is small, and the operation is run by two women, in line with the feminine shop name. Inside, you can use the ticket machine on the left to order from the menu. They also offer a multilingual menu for foreign customers. I ordered the Shio Ramen with seasoned egg and Kyoto bonito flakes (880 yen). When the bowl arrived, a nice aroma of bonito flakes filled the air. I realized that it was not a combination of bonito flakes and chicken broth, but rather bonito flakes as a topping. The soup was rich, but not too heavy, with firm straight noodles that I enjoyed. The soup gradually became more flavorful and satisfying, not overly rich but more of a refreshing umami taste. I was able to finish every last drop of the soup. If I had chosen soy sauce instead of salt, the texture might have been different, but overall, it was a delicious ramen with a pleasant aftertaste. I recently got hooked on chicken broth ramen so I was looking forward to visiting. I arrived at 13:20 and there were few customers. It might have just been a coincidence though. I ordered the shio (salt) chicken broth ramen. The soup tasted a bit light and I prefer a richer soup. It was just a regular ramen with no standout features.

I bought a meal ticket and sat at the counter seat. The rich Kyoto chicken white broth ramen White for 780 yen has a rich flavor of chicken white broth soup with medium-thick straight and chewy noodles... It's fantastic. It's addictive. The chicken chashu is moist and delicious. The tsukune is ordinary. While eating, I found an attractive light meal menu of fried chicken and small rice for 220 yen. I want to come back again. It's just a short walk from Karasuma. I love chicken white broth ramen, so I was looking forward to it. I ordered the special rich chicken white broth ramen. While wandering the streets in search of okonomiyaki, I couldn't find any and was starting to feel hungry. Just when I was about to give up and head home, I stumbled upon a ramen shop like an oasis in the warm sunshine. I decided to go in and try their rich Kyoto chicken broth ramen with a side of mini rice. The interior of the shop didn't give off the best vibes, but the cleanliness of the counter put me at ease. The medium-thick noodles were smooth and light, not overpowering the soup. The soup itself had a rich appearance but maintained a subtle saltiness, capturing the essence of Kyoto. The chicken meatballs were a nice touch. The rice had a slightly powdery aroma. If the soup had a bit more soy sauce flavor, I could have mixed it with the rice for a perfect combination. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the right balance in my order this time. Although not shown in the photos, there was a delicious chili oil with sesame oil on the table, which paired excellently with the soup. Overall, it was a very tasty bowl of ramen!
