Last Sunday, at Nakano Central Park, the "Nakano Chu Summit" was held. I thought it would be a gathering of people who have achieved Chu at least once, but to my surprise, there were many inexperienced people who were shocked! When I asked Gaga-san about the main purpose, she said, "I want everyone to know about Chu and feel free to try it." I see. If many people come to Nakano aiming for Chu, the restaurants in Nakano will become lively. The Chu Summit that will contribute to the economic development of Nakano... truly reflects the thoughts of someone aiming for the position of Nakano district mayor in the future. Another shocking thing was revealed... Friday is Chu Day! Everyone has to post a Chu review by the next Friday. Oh no. I, a "day-by-day reviewer" with zero drafts, had no candidate restaurants for Chu. (This is impossible...) But then, as I was instructed to give the closing remarks, unexpected words came out of my mouth. "The password is Friday!" "Let's all make sure to post a Chu review next Friday." Maybe I was feeling bold because I was drunk. Oh no! I have to go to a Chu restaurant for four days from Monday to Thursday. (Worst case, I can just post a review from some convenience store.)
There was also Amami Fukurasha, and it's even located in the local area ♡ It seems to serve as an antenna shop for Amami Oshima, with the concept of "introducing the charm of Amami Oshima to everyone and encouraging them to visit Amami Oshima." A phrase that sounds familiar. When I visited during lunchtime, they said, "During the cherry blossom festival period, only take-out is available, but we have Torimeshi." Oh, I'm happy to hear that they have Torimeshi, which I love. The organic green tea from Yakushima served first has a gentle flavor. ◆ Torimeshi ¥500 A local dish from the Amami Islands. Torimeshi (not read as torimeshi but as keihan) tea-soaked rice. Fukurasha's original Torimeshi has... chicken, tamagoyaki, shiitake mushrooms, papaya pickles, pickled ginger, and green onions topped with tangerine peel as a condiment. First, savor the ingredients and chicken broth, and then enjoy it by mixing vigorously. The light yet flavorful broth with the refreshing scent of tangerine peel is good. The crunchy texture of papaya is addictive. A row of brown sugar shochu lined up inside the store. If you've come to an Amami store, why not have a shochu night instead of lunch. For those interested, let's have a drinking party here someday. Oshima cheers.
