I stopped by a fruit daifuku shop on the first floor of Coredo Muromachi 1 in Nihonbashi that caught my attention. There were various fruits available, and the prices were quite high, around 700 yen per piece. Some office workers were buying them as gifts for their colleagues, and I overheard the total amount at the register, which was surprising. I thought it must be nice to have a boss like that! (laughs) I chose the Tochiotaka and Wenzhou mandarin flavors. The Tochiotaka was sweet and juicy with a strawberry inside! It was really delicious! The Wenzhou mandarin from Shizuoka had a whole mandarin inside, and it felt like eating fresh fruit rather than a typical daifuku with white bean paste. It was so tasty! I would like to try other fruit daifuku flavors next time. By the way, even though there was a string attached, I ate it without cutting it (laughs).

Located in KOREDO Nihonbashi, this shop offers a variety of fruit daifuku. I couldn't decide, so I chose strawberry (Tochiotome), kiwi, and mango. They use what looks like octopus thread to neatly cut them in half. The mango ended up with an uneven balance on both sides, and the kiwi didn't have the expected angle on the cut, haha. However, all of them tasted delicious. I originally wanted golden kiwi, but it was sold out. This could be a luxurious souvenir to treat yourself or others. Thank you for the meal!

This is a favorite fruit daifuku shop in the Coredo Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi in Tokyo. For some reason, it always seems to be raining when I visit. Inside the shop, there are samples displayed on the counter, all of which have a voluminous feel with plenty of fruit inside. They also sell wooden boxes for gifts, and putting the fruit daifuku in one of these boxes would make the recipient feel like a celebrity. I would be thrilled to receive such a gift. The fruit daifuku itself has a chewy texture and allows you to taste the natural deliciousness of the fruit. The sweetness and acidity vary depending on the fruit inside. It's a perfect treat for fruit lovers, as well as a great gift or souvenir.

I came to Nihonbashi today and decided to get some souvenirs. I chose these fruit daifuku, which are mochi balls filled with fruits. Each one is carefully wrapped in mochi with selected fruits. This time, I tried the amaou strawberry, benihoppe strawberry, and musk melon flavors. They use good quality fruits, but the price is quite high for each piece. I bought them more as a conversation starter rather than for everyday consumption. They might make a nice gift, but they are not really for everyday snacking at home.

Looking for souvenirs for a day out, I headed to Colette Marunouchi to get some fruit daifuku for a friend who loves them. I went to Kakuzan Fruit Daifuku. Inside the store, there were displays of daifuku and their cross-sections lined up. I got 4, 2, and 1 piece packed. 4 and 2 pieces were for souvenirs. I decided to taste one myself. They were about the size of onigiri. There was a thread inside, and they said to enjoy cutting them and looking at the cross-section. I tried, but I couldn't cut it neatly, haha. Oranges have thin skin, you know. Looking at the reviews, some people cut them beautifully. Impressive. I couldn't do it, haha. I gave up and took a bite. The juice overflowed. It was really delicious as an orange! The mochi, bean paste, and orange didn't get in the way. Now I'm curious about other fruits. But, they are still expensive, right? The quality is undoubtedly good, but I can never have enough to eat, haha. Of course, the people who received them as souvenirs praised them as delicious! Haha.

I went on a year-end trip to Nagoya and wanted to try the popular fruit daifuku from Kakouzan, but it was sold out everywhere. So, I decided to buy it here instead! There are many stores now. I got the "Kakouzan Fruit Daifuku" at Coredo Muromachi 1: Warm Wenzhou mandarin, Red hokkaido strawberry, Shine Muscat. I couldn't decide, so I got all three. Cutting the Red hokkaido strawberry was smooth and satisfying, the mandarin had small clusters which popped in your mouth, and the Shine Muscat had a tough skin and was hard to cut. All of them had fresh fruit and a thin layer of sweet bean paste, which was delicious but a bit pricey.

Today, I visited "Kakuozan Fruit Daifuku Bensaiten Nihonbashi Colette Muromachi Store" located on the 1st floor of Colette Muromachi 1 in Mitsukoshi-mae. It's a popular fruit daifuku shop. In particular, "Kakuozan Fruit Daifuku Bensaiten" has been opening one after another in Ginza and Roppongi. I've been curious about it for a while, so when I passed by in the evening and saw a line of about 5 people, I decided to line up. I was able to enter the store in about 5 minutes. There are about 10 different types of fruit daifuku such as melon, strawberry, fig, and seasonal persimmon lined up. Since it was my first time, I ordered two of the classic "Mikan (850 yen)" on the far right. The shelf life is 2 days, and it won't harden even if you put it in the refrigerator. I opened the box at home and there were two heavy Mikan daifuku and a string for cutting the daifuku inside. To show a clean cross-section, it is said that the Mikan should be cut horizontally with a string, while other fruits should be cut vertically. I tried cutting it with a string... it cut, but the cross-section was a little different from what I had imagined. Well, hamburgers and other things don't always look like the pictures, so I guess that's just how it is. When I tried it... the gentle sweetness of the Mikan and white bean paste matched well, and the mochi was soft and chewy, making it delicious! However, 850 yen feels a bit expensive. I personally like "Hassaku Daifuku," and I couldn't help but think that I could buy about 3 of them for the same price. (In Tokyo, you can purchase them at the Hiroshima Prefecture antenna shop in Ginza) Nevertheless, I believe that all the fruit daifuku are delicious, so I think it's fun to choose and enjoy your favorite fruit daifuku. When the trend of fruit daifuku was popular, I discovered this shop at Coredo Muromachi. I visited during the Shine Muscat season. The fruit had a firm texture, while the surrounding mochi and red bean paste were a bit too sweet for my taste. The mochi and red bean paste were thin, allowing the fruit flavor to stand out. The price was quite high, and personally, I felt that it would have been fine to just eat the Shine Muscat at that price.

Wow, this is so delicious! Oh my god, it's incredibly delicious! So, Kakuozan is in Aichi? Nagoya city!? Wait, there's a main store of this delicious fruit daifuku shop in Kakuozan!? Even without that, there are already so many delicious shops here, isn't that too greedy! Anyway, I bought a summer strawberry daifuku to take home. It has two whole strawberries inside! Amazing! Amazing!! The delicate skin and the white bean paste as thick as the skin wrap the strawberry firmly, and when you eat it, it's juicy! It was amazing! It was so delicious! I've tried various strawberry daifuku before, but this one is at the top! There were many other fruit daifuku options, but I played it safe and chose strawberry... I'll definitely want to try others next time while still buying the strawberry daifuku.

This shop, which opened in Nihonbashi Muromachi on July 11, 2021, has a lineup of delicious-looking Fruit Daifuku inside. Some items were already sold out, but we ordered the "High Sugar Content Fuji Apple" (500 yen) and the "Kiwi" (650 yen). After purchasing, we decided to eat them on a bench in front of the Fukutoku Shrine nearby. Inside the Daifuku, there is both the fruit and the string, which you use to cut the Daifuku. When you cut it, you'll find a vibrant Daifuku filled with fruit, like in the photo below. We enjoyed the crispy texture of the apple, the juicy kiwi, and the harmonious combination of the thin skin, thin sweet bean paste, and rice cake of the Daifuku.
