It was a cozy izakaya where everything was in place ✨ We made a reservation for the opening at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived a little early, there were already many people waiting outside the still closed restaurant, confirming its popularity once again ✨ Now, as soon as it opened at 5:00 PM, people were drawn in one after another - it was a sight to see! As we climbed the long staircase, we were greeted by a spacious open kitchen and a wonderful atmosphere! The space was divided into upper and lower levels, giving off a hidden gem vibe with its lovely interior. This place really captures you with its ambiance even before you start eating (^^) - Bottled beer - Flamingo Orange (sweet potato shochu with water) - Prince Melon Sour - Yellowtail sashimi from Ehime Prefecture - Eggplant marinated in wasabi soy sauce - Zucchini and water octopus with Cho-Jang sauce - Grilled eggplant with sweet miso - Kujo green onions with duck breast and Sichuan pepper oil - White celery wrapped in beef The yellowtail sashimi and eggplant marinated in wasabi soy sauce were served separately, with a surprisingly beautiful presentation that caught us off guard, but they were delicious when tasted! The eggplant had a unique texture, and the wasabi soy sauce really soaked in, creating a wonderful flavor. The zucchini and water octopus with Cho-Jang sauce had a refreshing and summery taste. The grilled eggplant had a great texture and a lingering taste that was really satisfying. The Kujo green onions with duck breast and Sichuan pepper oil was truly delicious - the Kujo green onions alone were tasty, but with the duck fat clinging to them and the Sichuan pepper oil, it was a fantastic dish! The White celery wrapped in beef was probably the best dish of the night - the raw celery was so fragrant and flavorful, and the rare beef was tender with a high-quality fat, complemented by the refreshing aftertaste of the celery. It was addictive! Overall, the taste, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch, making it a great restaurant. The location is also great, as the area is bustling with the group's other popular restaurants. I was excited to visit this popular restaurant that requires reservations. I was looking forward to eating lots of vegetables, and I was not disappointed. The vegetables were delicious, and I enjoyed trying new and unusual varieties. Personally, I was hooked on the wasabi soy sauce pickled komatsuna. The mozuku tempura was unbelievably crispy and delicious. The smoothie with avocado, pineapple, and mango was incredibly tasty. I want to conquer all the restaurants in the Ikaruga group!

Despite being a regular day, the restaurant was packed and bustling. This izakaya takes pride in their vegetables. The simmered vegetables (like a vegetable oden) have a diverse range of options and are all satisfying. The other menu items are also great, but the standout was the shiitake mushroom surimi tempura. It was truly delicious. The drink selection is also good, with craft beer, sake, highballs, and chu-hi, offering something for everyone. Since the focus is on vegetables, the menu is likely to change with the seasons, making it a place worth returning to. The staff were also very friendly.

The moment I entered the restaurant, the atmosphere was fantastic. It was lively. Drinks: - Sake (1 cup): Served in a large cup with plenty of sake. You can choose your own small cup. The amount was generous, it was sweet and easy to drink. Excellent. - Funachu Hassaku: Also a generous portion. The taste of sake was strong. Food: - Yuzagari Musume (edamame): Not as salty as it looks. It felt more like boiled vegetables than regular edamame. - Manganji Togarashi: Not spicy at all. A mysterious taste. It's like a bell pepper with only the flavor of chili pepper remaining. Quite delicious. - Amberjack sashimi: Excellent. The eggplant soy sauce pickle replaces soy sauce, combining with the fresh and chewy texture of amberjack to make it incredibly delicious. A must-order dish. - Kujo Negi: Makes you feel like you're eating a lot of vegetables. The taste is decent. The duck is delicious. Overall, each dish seems to be carefully crafted to make vegetables taste delicious. They pour plenty of sake, so the satisfaction level is quite high. I will definitely visit again when I'm nearby. I felt the skill of bringing out the amazing taste of Kyoto vegetables and the commitment to ingredients. It was sudden, so when I called other group restaurants, they were all full today, as expected on a Friday, but luckily this one had space! Despite living in Kyoto for many years, I haven't eaten Kyoto vegetables much. Coming here made me realize the goodness of Kyoto vegetables again. The fresh octopus with curry, jun sauce, cucumber was a perfect match! The octopus had a crunchy texture and no fishy smell at all! The baby corn and thinly sliced duck breast with olive oil were a perfect match. The trio that no one should miss!

I made a reservation around 7:00 pm and the restaurant was almost full. The atmosphere was a bit dim and calming. All the dishes were incredibly delicious and amazing. I forgot the name, but the menu with firefly squid and sea urchin was the best. I want to go back again.

The 3000 yen course with 1500 yen 90-minute all-you-can-drink option was a great deal. The photos show the dishes in the order they were served. I forgot to take a picture of the dessert, but they also served cooked rice before that. The restaurant is located in Shijo Kawaramachi and offers good value for money. The service was also very pleasant. It might be just right for someone like me in their middle age, but younger people might find it a bit lacking. I would definitely like to visit again. Despite being fully booked, we were able to squeeze in for just an hour. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and the dishes featuring Kyoto vegetables were colorful and delicious. The staff, though young, were energetic, friendly, and fun, making our short visit enjoyable. We also had a good time chatting with the hostesses at a lounge in Gion later on, as they mentioned they often visit the restaurant. When we return to Kyoto, we will definitely come back here. We heard they have sister restaurants as well, so we are curious to try those too. Thank you for the great experience.

I visited around 6 pm in early March. The restaurant was already full, so I sat at the counter. There were vegetables lined up on the counter, and they were being simmered in a large pot, which seemed to be their specialty. The male staff member who served us was very nice and resembled Takahashi Kaito. He explained each dish and drink in detail, including where the ingredients came from, how they were cooked, and the recommended way to eat them. It made the meal even more delicious. He also prepared a special plate for our anniversary, timing it perfectly and even took a photo for us. The food was delicious, but the excellent service from that staff member made me want to come back. I would definitely want to visit again when I come back to Kyoto. By the way, I happened to sit near the phone, and it kept ringing non-stop with reservation calls, so making a reservation is a must.

Visited the second restaurant of the popular Fifty-Eight Group in Kyoto. After enjoying the delicious meal at isoism last time, I decided to visit Onikai, a vegetable stew specialty shop. The interior of the shop was charming with an open kitchen, nice ambiance, lighting, and great customer service. The dishes, focusing on vegetables, were incredibly delicious, each one surprising me with its taste and presentation. The menu was full of unique items that you wouldn't find in other izakayas, making it a must-visit spot in Kyoto. I had a great time tonight once again. I look forward to coming back to try more dishes. Thank you very much.

I visited around 7:00 pm on a regular day. The interior of the restaurant had a dim and calm atmosphere, with Kyoto vegetables displayed above the counter, adding a touch of elegance. Both the sashimi and tempura were delicious. You can't go wrong with any dish you order. It was surprising to find such a lovely restaurant amidst the bustling tourists at Kawaramachi-Shijo. This is a wonderful restaurant!! I was recommended by a friend and decided to visit. I made a same-day reservation and was able to visit at 8pm. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, and I enjoyed sitting at the counter. The atmosphere is lively and the energetic staff make you feel hungry. I asked for recommendations and placed my order. - The sashimi of the Nagano prefecture buri was delicious, with a large slice of buri that was fresh and tasty. The arugula with wasabi and soy sauce paired perfectly with the buri. - The white celery wrapped in beef was incredibly delicious! It's hard to describe how good it was, with a perfect balance of celery and beef flavors. - The simmered vegetables with Kujon leeks was a great combination of tasty leeks and duck. Even though I'm not a big fan of leeks, I found myself enjoying it a lot! I also tried many other delicious vegetables and meats. This is a truly wonderful restaurant. I would love to visit again!

I am happy that I can eat a lot of vegetables at the izakaya. I was surprised that the buri kama was quite large and very delicious at a reasonable price. It has great cost performance and is delicious, so I want to come back again. If you don't mind the lively atmosphere, it's perfect for a date. I definitely want to visit other restaurants in the Gojika group!
