I had been curious about this place for a while, and finally had the chance to visit with two friends. We tried the lean tuna sashimi (690 yen) and liver sashimi (1490 yen), along with a few drinks. The food was simply delicious. We arrived late, so I would love to come back and enjoy a leisurely meal next time.

The restaurant is named after horse meat, so they serve unique dishes related to horse meat. I ordered a horse meat platter with three different cuts, and the mane and lean meat were beautifully presented and delicious. Next time, I want to try the horse meat steak and horse meat sushi.

The unique texture and tenderness of the tongue were exquisite.

I ordered a platter of three types of horse sashimi, another dish, and a bottle of sweet potato shochu called Akarimen. The appetizer that came out first was tofu topped with something like horse meat corned beef, and it was absolutely delicious. It was so tasty that I wanted to try more dishes, but I restrained myself this time. The service was a bit slow, possibly due to the crowded restaurant, but when the horse meat arrived, it was slightly frozen but each piece had a good texture and the flavor of the meat was very delicious.

When I made the reservation on Hot Pepper, I didn't feel any of the attention to detail or upgrades for the all-you-can-drink version, so in the end, it wasn't there, which was a bit disappointing. Is this a problem with the Hot Pepper system or the restaurant's fault? Either way, it needs improvement. By the way, on this Christmas day, there was only one couple as the first guests and another couple as the last guests, so it felt a bit lonely. So, the Christmas horse sashimi date was, well, so-so. This is a restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Tachikawa Station South Exit, on the second floor. The interior has a calm atmosphere and is quite small in size. It's an izakaya, but it's not lively, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy their drinks quietly. In particular, the assorted horse sashimi is something you don't see often. While horse sashimi is usually known for its refreshing taste, there are also rich options available, allowing you to explore new flavors based on your mood and drink choices.

The other day, I visited a horse meat bar called "Baka Uma" in Tachikawa! It is located about a 7-minute walk from the south exit, and since it is on the opposite side of the downtown area, the surroundings of the shop are quite dark. I found this place because I wanted to eat white miso motsunabe! It seems that "Baka Uma" directly sources horse meat and motsu from wholesalers. The dishes I ordered were horse meat shabu-shabu, white miso motsunabe, horse meat skewers, horse meat namero, horse meat potato salad, assorted horse sashimi, tekkanyaki, and liver teppanyaki. The horse meat was fresh and all the dishes were delicious!! Especially the horse meat shabu-shabu was light and tasty without much fat! The white miso motsunabe I was looking forward to had yuzu pepper inside fried tofu, which was a nice touch. However, the soup had a strong yuzu pepper flavor that was a bit overwhelming, and the motsu itself was very tough and not very tasty! Since I was dining alone, the dishes were a bit slow to come out. The restaurant has limited seating, so it seems like it's better to make a reservation before going.

Three of us dined for around 11,400 yen. We ordered a horse sashimi platter, delicious salad, crispy cartilage tempura, rolled omelette with mentaiko, assorted skewers, 5-6 beers, 2 whiskies with hot water, and 2 shochus. The horse sashimi was especially delicious, with no strange taste, good texture, and not too fatty. The other menu items were typical izakaya fare, but the horse sashimi stood out as fresh and tasty. The rolled omelette with mentaiko was also great, with plenty of mentaiko inside.
