Ordering with my own smartphone, but my phone is usually in low-speed mode, so I often can't place orders; I should have asked about the shop's Wi-Fi. The appetizer was salted kombu cabbage, and I upgraded to a large portion for the same price. Hakata Theater is really a great deal! The spicy bell peppers have arrived! I felt like eating iron pot dumplings, so I went to have some. When you come here, the first thing to do is to order the iron pot dumplings. They serve you freshly grilled hot dumplings along with yuzu pepper, which is the standard at this restaurant. The crispy texture and juicy deliciousness of the filling are outstanding here. The restaurant offers a challenge where if you eat 100 iron pot dumplings, you get them for free! I think I can handle 100 dumplings, but I'm hesitant to try it. To finish off the day, I chose Hakata ramen. The creamy and mild pork bone soup has a very smooth mouthfeel, and the red ginger and garlic oil add depth to the flavor. Since actual Hakata pork bone ramen can be quite strong, they have probably adjusted the flavor here.

When it comes to Hakata Gekijo, the iron pot gyoza is a must-try. Lately, I've had more opportunities to eat their gyoza, and the sign does not lie - the gyoza here is always delicious. The skin is crispy, the filling is juicy, and it's hot and flavorful from being cooked in the iron pot. Enjoy the gyoza with yuzu pepper or sauce. Whenever I see the shop, I crave their iron pot gyoza. I ordered 3 servings, and it disappeared in no time. The crispy skin and the spiciness of the yuzu pepper make for an amazing combination. Since it takes time to cook, it's best to order extra as soon as you sit down. Hakata Gekijo is always bustling no matter which shop you go to. It's amazing how they can create such a lively atmosphere everywhere. I'd like to try the challenge of eating 100 gyoza there someday.

I visited a restaurant in Tokyo that serves Hakata gourmet dishes during weekday dinner time. They have table seats, counter seats, and even a second floor for seating options. The fried gyoza skin topped with seared mentaiko is amazing. From the classic sesame mackerel to grilled skewers, they also offer a huge 1L highball drink which is very satisfying. It's already mid-August, so it gets dark after 6:00 PM. The bright outdoor lights of the restaurant make it stand out. I entered around 6:30 PM on a Tuesday. About 50% of the seats were taken by other customers. By the time I left, it was about 90% full. The long and narrow interior has counter seats surrounding the kitchen, as well as table seats along the walls and towards the back. I like that there are many counter seats in this restaurant. The background music is festival music and the voices of customers!! It seems like wherever you go, the voices of customers are loud, which is a unique feature! Today's customers seem to be mostly men and women who were a bit wild in the past (laughs). The staff at all the branches are young, and especially the female staff members look similar in appearance, maybe it's because of my age (laughs). I made a reservation for the weekend and visited the restaurant. I was able to make a reservation through Tabelog. I participated in a personal challenge, the eating contest. I arrived at the restaurant with an empty stomach. Inside the restaurant, there were many signatures of those who had completed the challenge displayed. I was excited at the thought of my name being added to the list. Since it takes time to cook 100 dumplings (for 2 people), I waited for about 30 minutes after being informed. Finally, the dumplings arrived! The size of the iron pot got me really excited! The dumplings at Hakata Gekijo are on the smaller side. Having done some research beforehand, I started eating with the intention to win. The first 10 or so were delicious while hot, and I tried different flavors with the next 10. As I continued, my stomach started to feel full and the oiliness became heavy, so my pace slowed down... My husband managed to finish all 100 dumplings! Unfortunately, I could only eat 50. When I asked if I could take the leftovers home, I was told it was not allowed. The food was so good that it felt like a waste to throw it away. If you can finish all the dumplings, you get them for free and a one-year free dumpling voucher! If you can't finish, it costs about 5,000 yen. Considering the amount, it might actually be a good deal... (laughs) The drink cost was separate. This eating challenge will probably be my first and last, but it was a valuable experience. "Yataiya Hakata Gekijo Kinshicho Store" was also crowded, and we barely managed to get in. It was the Halloween event at the restaurant that day. The staff were dressed up and serving customers. I didn't see any customers dressed up, so I thought maybe I should have dressed up as JAGUAR too. A black and white striped lady mainly came to our table. I wonder what character she was supposed to be? There were also people dressed as Kiki's Delivery Service, Pokemon, and Disney characters. This restaurant offers great deals on food and drinks if you install their app. While installing the app, my phone fell and the app stopped working. The staff quickly took care of everything for me. It's the end of the year, but I went to a place I had never been before. I ordered 100 dumplings! The quality of the dumplings was really good. I was worried that they might be overcooked with so many, but it turned out to be unfounded. They were all perfectly hot and delicious. The dipping sauce, chili paste, and yuzu pepper provided for flavor variation were also delicious. In addition, I was impressed by the paper mask holder and the attentive explanation from the staff. This is a great restaurant in Hakata known for its delicious dishes, especially the gyoza, with amazing value for money. When I first visited a year and a half ago, I was recommended to join their app membership for a fee of 200 yen. Since then, I get free appetizers every time I visit, starting from the second visit, which is incredible! Also, app members can enjoy gyoza for only 130 yen on the 13th of every month. I recently visited again this month and as we always order at least 6 servings of gyoza, we always have a great time on Gyoza Day. There are other great deals too, like getting 100 gyoza after visiting 10 times, or getting to eat your age in gyoza during your birthday month. Apart from gyoza, their other menu items are also delicious and affordable. I highly recommend their skewers and oden. The skewers include classic yakitori as well as seasonal creative skewers. The oden has a tasty broth that keeps me coming back for more. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lively and welcoming, making it a great place to dine. If I had known about this place during my college days, I would have definitely wanted to work here!笑

I visited Nishi-Kasai today for the second time. When I have a drinking party in Nishi-Kasai, I always end up at the reliable cost-effective Hakata Theater. For my first drink, I had a huge highball in a jumbo glass, and for snacks, I had chilled tomatoes and the newly added white shrimp. Honestly, the white shrimp... I still prefer the chewy type.
