I came back to the main store after a long time and brought a friend from Osaka to Kidono City. We arrived around 4 pm on a weekday, so there was no waiting time. This time, I ordered the original menu item at the main store, the firm normal noodle beef tendon thick and rich ramen with leek and mustard topping, and a pork rice bowl. The ramen was served in about seven to eight minutes. The staff warned us that the bowl was hot, so be careful. The soup was served piping hot, which was excellent. The noodles were cooked perfectly firm, and there were no complaints about the texture. The secret main store soup was quite rich even for the standard thick version, reminiscent of the old Tenka Ippin taste. I usually go to a Tenka Ippin franchise in Aichi Prefecture, but I always feel like the taste has changed and become lighter. Nowadays, I prefer the main store. The beef tendons were tender and delicious, and I enjoyed them with a crispy texture. The original pork rice bowl was also tasty with the grilled pork on top. I was already full. Recently, I have been disappointed that the main Tenka Ippin stores have started using frozen fried rice, so I haven't tried it. I wonder if they have done the same here. I miss the old days when the chef used to flip the wok. I might try the fried rice next time, but the quality at the main store is truly the best. The staff were friendly, and if this store were closer, I would probably visit every week. I envy the main store's amazing quality. So good! Note: The main store does not offer the MAX thick ramen. This seems to be a hidden message.

Oh, when I came to Kyoto, one of the shops I wanted to visit was Tenkaippin. I heard they have menu items that are only available at this main store. So, I decided to try the Beef Tendon Ramen, along with a set of Pork Bowl and Gyoza. I also ordered a light ramen, but everything was actually very rich and thick. The rich flavor is exactly to my liking.

It tastes delicious, really delicious! Am I the only one who feels that it's different from other Tenkaippin restaurants? The soup has a slightly brown color, not pure white. As a result, the flavor is complex and not too strong in artificial seasoning taste. I think it's really delicious.

I visited the store after a long time. I usually go to the nearby Tenkaippin, but I often hear that the main store is different, so I decided to go there after a long time. In the end, this Tenkaippin was completely different from the one I usually eat. The usual one has a lingering taste and aftertaste, but this one had none of that! Just deliciousness without any lingering taste. I was impressed. I hear there are stores with a similar taste at branch locations, but to all Tenkaippin fans nationwide. Please try it out once.

When I went to Tenkaippin in the Owari region of Aichi prefecture the other day, the soup was so thick and heavy that the gyoza was lukewarm and not very tasty, so I wanted to try the original Tenkaippin. The Tenkaippin I had in Osaka, where I grew up, was supposed to be better than the one in Aichi... and it was. You can see the kitchen from the counter, and the chefs were focused on boiling the noodles just right and preparing for the next order. It seemed like the not-so-tasty restaurants use a central kitchen to make the dishes and leave them to low-wage part-time workers to save costs. I ordered a limited menu item from the main store, and the noodles were cooked perfectly and paired well with the toppings. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The other day, I visited the main branch of Tenkaippin located south of Ichijoji in Kyoto. As expected, the original store of Tenkaippin has the best taste. It's a phrase that has been talked about for a long time. The main store continues to produce a stable taste. It had been a long time since I last visited, so I went for the rich flavor. When I was a student, I could easily eat it, but after almost 30 years, it made me feel a bit heavy. However, the deliciousness of the soup remains as good as ever. There were also menu items only available at the main store, but I decided to go with something I hadn't had in a while. I will definitely visit again.

Tenkaippin Main Store. I've been to various Tenkaippin locations before, but this was my first time at the main store. Each Tenkaippin store has slightly different side menus and the taste varies a bit. Which one is the real deal? It must be the main store. Apparently, the main store is the only place where they make the soup the same way as when they first opened. So, I originally planned to just enjoy a simple, rich bowl of ramen, but when I saw the words "Main Store Limited" on the menu, I couldn't resist ordering the Beef Tendon Kimchi Ramen. Why are we common folks so weak against limited edition items? I tried a bite of my friend's "rich" ramen, and it did feel a bit different. Is it just my imagination? No, it's definitely different. You should definitely try it out for yourself. Beef Tendon Kimchi Ramen (Regular) 1430 yen.

In 1971 (Showa 46), the legendary Kyoto ramen shop "Tenkaippin Main Store" started as a food stall. On its first day, it only sold 11 bowls, but now it has expanded to 221 stores nationwide (as of September 4, 2023). It ranks 8th in the number of stores among domestic ramen chains (as of July 2022). I visited the main store of this famous shop and tried the exclusive "Beef Tendon Ramen." I ordered it "rich and firm." The soup has a unique combination of chicken and vegetables, with a smooth and deep richness and umami. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles, with a perfect flavor and firm texture that complements the rich soup. The thinly sliced lean pork is tender and stands out. The sweet and savory beef tendons, simmered to perfection, pair perfectly with the soup. The soup unique to the main store of Tenkaippin, refined through years of hard work. The ultimate bowl that can only be tasted at the main store is truly a moment of bliss. With respect for the restaurant's history and tradition, I enjoyed this exquisite bowl. Each bite filled me with a deep sense of awe. Thank you for the meal! ❣️

Since ancient times, the taste of Tenkaippin has slightly varied depending on the store, and even though it was near my house, I had drifted away from it. SUGIZO often visits the main store on TV and says, "Let's go to the main store," so I finally fulfilled my wish and went to the main store. After waiting in line for a bit, we received the menu before entering, placed our order in advance, and finally entered the store. Instead of the gyoza that I originally intended to order, I followed SUGIZO's recommendation and ordered the croquette set, changing the rice to half-fried rice. I quenched my thirst with a bottle of beer and finally came face to face with Tenkaippin's ramen. The ramen was indeed rich and a bit tough for my age, but it had a lot of umami flavor. I changed the taste halfway through with karashi miso, and I didn't sprinkle any black pepper. The croquette had a consistently delicious taste. As a fried rice lover, this set was the best, but my stomach was completely full. Thank you for the meal♪

When I was young, I loved Tenten Honten. After drinking heavily for the first time, I tried their rich ramen and got hooked. At one point, I was going to different branches almost once a week. I found out they have their main store in Kyoto, so I had to go there! I decided to make it my last meal in Kyoto. I arrived around 3:30 pm and it was almost full. Customers kept coming in one after another, so there might be a wait during lunchtime or dinner time! I wanted to try the beef tendon ramen that is only available at the main store, but I had eaten lunch about 2 hours earlier, so I went with the standard rich ramen. It was incredibly delicious, maybe because it had been a while since I last had it. It was even tastier than in Tokyo. Despite my age, I had drifted away from Tenten Honten, but now I plan to visit the branch in Tokyo again. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the main branch for the first time in 10 years, mainly because my daughter's favorite was posted on Instagram. We arrived at a good time and easily found parking. We were seated without having to wait in line. Even though the counter was available, they guided us to a spacious table for two. While waiting for the menu, I looked around the restaurant and noticed the pleasant and tailored customer service for all types of customers - elderly, children, solo diners, and groups. The rhythm of service was impressive. I had the croquette set meal for 1200 yen today. The croquette here had a crispy, thin crust and a moist and sweet interior, which is my favorite type of croquette. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Thirty-five years ago, I used to frequent the ramen shop Tenkaippin in Kitaoji during my student days. Back then, the options were limited to Ten'ichi, Daiichi Asahi, Shinfukunai, and Ramen Fujii. Getting a large ramen with my part-time job earnings was a small pleasure in my daily life. Although the layout of the tables seems to have been renovated, the atmosphere remains largely unchanged. The rich taste of the ramen seems to have stayed the same, but the prices have increased by about 1.5 times compared to back then. The unique deliciousness of the ramen has been maintained, and I don't think the evaluation of this shop is influenced by one's physical condition on that day. (laughs)

I tried eating the SUGIZO set. Although there is no set menu, I recreated the combination that the ambassador of LUNA SEA, SUGIZO, always eats. I had a rich ramen, a boiled egg and garlic croquette rice with a side of kimchi for added flavor. SUGIZO usually orders kimchi as a side dish, but being budget-conscious, I opted to use it as a topping. The kimchi was set aside on top of the rice. The rich ramen was delicious as always. I added extra garlic halfway through, and it gave me a boost of energy. The croquette was a first for me, and it was large, slightly sweet, and definitely tasty. When I was halfway through, I added the kimchi to the ramen. It was tasty, but the kimchi was a bit overpowering, so some adjustments may be needed. To finish, I sprinkled some black pepper. It added a spicy and edgy taste. It was a rock'n'roll flavor, and I really enjoyed it. I was also drawn to SUGIZO's sense of taste.

During the hot summer tourist season, I visited the main store for lunch. I arrived at around 11:30 am, but there was already a line forming. Everyone, including myself, seemed to be on a pilgrimage to this holy place. I placed my order while waiting in line. I ordered the limited edition beef tendon kimchi ramen with normal noodles, firm texture, and a side of rich fried chicken. After about a 10-minute wait, I was able to enter the restaurant. The interior had wooden menu boards and photos of the founder, giving it a unique atmosphere. After about 5 minutes, the rich fried chicken arrived first. It was said to be made with rich soup, and when eaten with the garlic condiment, it was truly delicious... I felt like having some rice. After eating about half of the fried chicken, the beef tendon kimchi ramen was served. The rich ramen was topped with kimchi and plenty of beef tendon. The deliciousness of the rich soup was undeniable, but the sour and spicy kimchi combined with the sweet and salty beef tendon was truly delicious... I still wanted some rice. It felt like a main dish rather than just ramen. With the generous portions of ramen and rich fried chicken, I was fully satisfied. Even though it's a central kitchen, so the same at any branch, eating at the main store somehow makes it taste even better. Thank you for the meal.

By 11:30 on Sunday, there were already about 10 groups lined up ahead of me. There is no dedicated parking lot, so I parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot for 400 yen per hour. The atmosphere at the restaurant was lively and the staff's service was excellent. I ordered the rich ramen and half fried rice set, and as always, the soup was delicious enough to drink it all. Truly worthy of being the main store. By the way, the menu does not have a "rich MAX" option.

I arrived at 11:30 on Sunday and there were already about 10 groups waiting. Waited for about 20 minutes before entering. They took our order while we were waiting, so it was served quickly. The ramen was just the right amount of richness and the fried rice had a nice salty flavor. It was worth the wait in line.

Entrepreneurship day. I wonder what kind of feelings the owner had when standing in front of the food stall. And after four years since its establishment, a rich soup made with chicken and vegetables was born. The completely original soup created in four years, whether it was a moment or eternity, must have been a tremendous journey. The main store, where the taste of the establishment is said to be preserved to this day. It is said that only the main store cooks the soup at the main store. I still remember when I met President (now Chairman) Kimura, who said, "I drink soup every morning for my health." That original soup... I dare to say... The main store's soup is one of a kind. Its richness, depth, and umami. Those who deeply love Tenkaippin must have visited at least once, believing in its explosively delicious taste. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again!!

In 1971, Kimura Tsutomu started a ramen stall with only 37,000 yen. By 1975, he had expanded to 234 stores, becoming one of Japan's largest ramen chains. There are franchise stores with varying menus and flavors. I personally like the taste of the main store or the Roppongi store of Tenkaippin.
- Location: One street south from Shirakawa Kitaoji, with free parking next to the store
- Time of entry: 9:30 PM
- Duration of stay: about 40 minutes
- Situation: Seats available
- Number of visitors: with my wife
- Customer service: standard
- Service: Yakimeshi in about 5 minutes, ramen in about 10 minutes
- Exterior: The image has not changed much over the years
- Interior: Since COVID, the counter has been arranged with one seat empty between customers
- Rating at the time of visit: 3.57
I always crave the taste of Tenkaippin's main store. The flavor is a blend of rich and light (compared to other stores).
[Order]
- Beef tendon kimchi ramen (regular) with fried rice set
- Kimchi ramen (regular) with winged gyoza set
- Fried chicken
Ramen has increased in variety over the years. I tried the winged gyoza, which I hadn't seen before. The fried chicken is different without the tulip shape, but still tasty.
- Beef tendon kimchi ramen: The taste of Tenkaippin is still good. The kimchi flavor blends well, and the beef tendon and sauce add depth to the flavor. Tenkaippin is delicious as always!
- Fried chicken: It has been renewed with a juicy taste. Quite delicious. I eat it with the spicy mustard.
- Winged gyoza: Average. It feels like the wings are forced on. Not very crispy. The wings are unnecessary.
- Fried rice: Always delicious, with a nice texture. I love Tenkaippin's fried rice. Tenkaippin has a consistent goodness that hasn't changed over the years. I think this is because of Chairman Kimura Tsutomu's spirit. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the main store of Tenkaippin! I couldn't forget the taste of Tenkaippin I had in Kyoto in the past, and I also tried it in Tokyo, but it was a little different... Finally, I went to the main store! The Tenkaippin in Tokyo is quite different from the original. I wasn't feeling well and had no appetite after recovering, but eating it made me feel better and energetic! Even on a weekday afternoon, it's a bit crowded, but the rich flavor is just too good. If you ever visit Kyoto, I recommend trying it out!

It's been a while since I visited the main branch of Tenkaippin Kitashirakawa. The seating arrangement hasn't changed, but it looks cleaner somehow. Since I wasn't very hungry for dinner, I just ordered a rich beer. The beer was delicious, of course, but I started to feel full. The rich flavor was so good. It reminded me of the old days when I would eat quickly after refreshing my mouth with rice and pickles. Despite feeling full, I finished the rich dish. It's a strange kind of deliciousness that made me leave the beer unfinished. Well, 920 yen is just the right price.
