釣りするカツオに食べるカツオ
I have known for a while that there is a shop near Osaka Tenmangu Shrine that is the birthplace of battera sushi. They serve lunch from Wednesday to Sunday, so my wife and I decided to visit Sushitsune for the first time. The address of Sushitsune is 2-4-3 Tenjinbashi, Kita-ku, Osaka City, a 3-minute walk from JR Tozai Line "Osaka Tenmangu" Station and Osaka Metro "Minami-morimachi" Station. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:00. There is a green curtain hanging on the wooden lattice at the entrance, and you cannot see inside from the outside. *Actually, I visited on a Thursday thinking they also serve lunch. After disinfecting both hands with alcohol at the entrance, we were allowed to take photos and sat at the counter seats. There was an explanation of the origin of battera sushi, which made us feel the history. The name "battera" comes from the Portuguese word "batera," which customers used to refer to the sushi mold shaped like a small boat. After consulting with my wife (she gets to choose first), I ordered the husband's "live horse mackerel stick set" and the "battera set." The chef skillfully prepared stick sushi and pressed sushi. We were provided with chopsticks, a hot towel, and warm green tea. A small dish was also served. Today's small dish was new potato tofu. The combination of new potato flavor with tofu was unexpectedly delicious! The balance with the rich red miso sauce was exquisite. I felt like having a beer. Please inform them if you want the wasabi removed. The live horse mackerel stick sushi was prepared first and allowed to settle, while the battera sushi was carefully shaped in a small boat mold. I was mesmerized by the chef's knife skills and movements. After a short wait, the dishes were served. I borrowed my wife's portion for a photo of the small dish. When I opened the lid, I saw that today's live horse mackerel was from Yamaguchi Prefecture! Both were beautiful! The live horse mackerel from Yamaguchi Prefecture is famous! Born in the waters off Kyushu and carried by the Tsushima Current to the coast of Yamaguchi Prefecture, the horse mackerel grows by feeding on abundant natural currents and plankton, sardines, and other high-quality food. It is in season right now in June. My wife, the battera set is mine! Let's eat! The thick, freshly prepared live horse mackerel, with bones removed and skin peeled off, was lightly brushed with soy sauce and marinated in vinegar. The horse mackerel was very large, with thick flesh and shiny fat. If you don't pick up the vinegared rice skillfully with your chopsticks, it might crumble, but when you put it in your mouth, the flavor of the live horse mackerel and vinegared rice mix beautifully and taste delicious! I am grateful for the blessings of the sea and Sushitsune! The large shiitake mushroom and cucumber roll was fantastic, with the deliciousness of shiitake and the freshness of cucumber! Feeling apologetic, I added an extra order for a futomaki to take home. One piece of battera for my wife! The aroma of whiteboard kelp and the firmer vinegared rice here had a different taste and were delicious! After enjoying the delicious meal and feeling satisfied, we took the futomaki home, paid the bill, thanked everyone at Sushitsune, and left the restaurant. Husband: Thank you for the meal! It was delicious! I will come again! When I got home, the ingredients in the futomaki were shiitake mushrooms, kampyo (dried gourd strips), cucumber, and egg, all of which were superb! For those who like shiitake mushrooms and kampyo, I would like to use this as a souvenir in the future.
