エータロー
I used it for my second son's birthday party. This restaurant appeared in an episode of "The Lonely Gourmet" that aired on New Year's Eve in 2018. The name of the restaurant, "Nashimote," seems to be a play on hospitality, but they provide excellent ingredients cooked with high-quality charcoal (Binchotan). The restaurant is located on Kawaramachi-dori, heading towards the Philosopher's Path after turning right at the first traffic light on Imadegawa Street. Inside the restaurant, there is a charcoal grill in the center, surrounded by a counter with 10 seats in a horseshoe shape. The husband and wife owners run the place. We started by ordering cold sake when we sat down. The appetizer that came out first was delicious. It consisted of tofu, komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), and dried fish, all prepared with a special touch to enhance the flavors. For the charcoal grill, we ordered a variety of dishes since there were four of us, but each person only had a small portion. Some of the items we ordered included lotus root with ginkgo nuts, taro, chicken gizzards, pork belly with pepper, grilled tomato, salted buttered potatoes, chicken thighs, bell peppers, bonito, chicken neck, liver, silver cod, ankimo (monkfish liver), and more. The variety of options for charcoal-grilled vegetables, chicken, pork, and fish was overwhelming, making it hard to choose. However, all the ingredients were of high quality, so you couldn't go wrong with any choice. Grilling them with high-quality charcoal seemed to bring out the best in the ingredients and create a new level of flavor. Finally, we had a clay pot rice with sea bream as a closing dish. When it was served, the aroma of the sea bream on top of the rice was enticing. Mixing the flaked sea bream with the rice, the flavors melded together in a mouthwatering way, making it a satisfying end to the meal.
