I went to lunch at Bunzo, a popular casual izakaya. This was my second time visiting this restaurant. Last time, I was exploring lunch spots around here with some new colleagues, but somehow we ended up getting hooked on Toranomon lunches and stopped walking all the way to Kasumigaseki. Lately, I've been going to Bunzo for lunch. I remember getting close to burning myself with the katsudon set last time, so this time I went for the ginger pork set. Thanks to staggered work hours at my company, I can go for lunch at off-peak times and the place is empty. By 1 pm, the restaurant is practically empty. You can choose any table you like. As for the ginger pork, it's a good size for an izakaya lunch, with each piece of meat big enough to enjoy chewing. The seasoning was just right, not too strong or too light. Behind the meat, there's a lot of cabbage and a modest potato salad, so I feel like the set is well-balanced. The side dish of tofu was unexpectedly cotton instead of silk. Many lunch sets come with silk tofu, but popular places like this one are different. It seems they pay attention even to the taste of the tofu. They serve tea instead of water, so I definitely want to come back again in the future! Positive points: - Around 8 lunch options to choose from, including daily specials - Friendly staff - Easy for women to enter

After a meeting, we went to this place. I didn't know it was a chain with several branches. We started with a toast of beer and then checked the menu, which had a wide variety of options from sashimi, yakitori, and french fries to spaghetti. We ordered as we pleased, and the food tasted just as we expected - casual and delicious. The flavors were a bit strong, which made the drinks go down smoothly. And the prices were reasonable too. Thank you for the meal.

I've been to quite a few lunch spots in the Kasumigaseki area. Today, I decided to try the chain restaurant called "Kajiya Bunzo". This place also opens at 11:30, so we early birds had to wait a bit before it opened. Kasumigaseki has many government offices, and apparently their workday starts at 10 am. Therefore, lunchtime is not that early to accommodate the civil servants who work late. The lunch menu includes sashimi set for 990 yen, chicken tempura set for 820 yen, grilled fish set for 830 yen, simmered fish set for 830 yen, ginger pork set for 860 yen, pork cutlet with egg set for 830 yen, demi-tamabeef hamburger for 880 yen, and daily special set. The prices are quite reasonable for this area, thanks to the chain restaurant's magic. I was the first one in the restaurant, but still had to wait about 6 minutes for my order to be served. The demi-glace sauce in the iron pot was not boiling, just nicely warm. The hamburger was surprisingly thick and packed with meat, making it a bit difficult to cut with chopsticks. The taste was within the expected range for a demi-glace hamburger, nothing extraordinary. The addition of the egg was a nice touch. Mixing the egg yolk with the demi sauce gave it a more western flavor, making the rice go down easily. Free rice refills are standard here. The pickled daikon was a bit wilted, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I have no complaints, but it's not exceptionally delicious either. This is the standard chain restaurant lunch. The place quickly filled up with customers, probably due to the reasonable prices.

After finishing work at Kasumigaseki Building, I decided to try the famous "Chicken thigh Munekata-yaki" to fill my stomach. It's a spicy grilled chicken thigh that is very flavorful. However, it was surprisingly difficult to cut. It goes well with alcohol, but the flavor is too intense for me. It's not something you can eat alone.

Tsukajiya Bunzo Kasumigaseki Store-sama---------------------------------------During a meeting, I happened to visit this shop. I found out that they have quite a few branches. Besides their regular menu, they also have monthly recommendations to enjoy! As an all-around izakaya, you can expect great food and service here. They offer sashimi, yakitori, grilled fish, and this time I tried the Albacore tuna! The cost-performance ratio is also good. It's a place that you can always rely on when you notice it.

I am working on releasing drafts related to yakitori, but it seems that yakitori is also classified here, so I will list it. Honestly, I have never tasted yakitori here (lol), but it is affordable and filling for the hungry young ones. While snacking on nuts, cucumbers, soybeans, black sugar beans, etc., I listen to the young people's conversations. Oh, they also have ham katsu, so it might be good to occasionally engage in activities that are more like club members. Nowadays, it seems like the club has become famous but lacks substance, with some members mentally engaging in activities, but it wouldn't hurt to boost morale with some uplifting activities once in a while.

The restaurant name is Kajiya Bunzo Kasumiga Sekiten. It is a lunch at an izakaya with relatively reasonable prices. The lunch menu mainly consists of set meals. I ordered the pork loin cutlet with egg set meal. The egg and pork cutlet were sizzling in the hot bowl. The egg was mildly sweet and the pork cutlet had a crispy texture. There was a generous amount of pork cutlet, making it a high cost-performance meal. The portion was sufficient and the taste was good.

Kasumigaseki Building 1F Izakaya "Bunkura". It's still a bit of a hidden gem. [June 2015] It's been a while since I had lunch here. I casually ordered the fried chicken set meal for 800 yen. In the photos, it looked like there were about 3 pieces of fried chicken, but in reality, there were a whopping 5 pieces!! Usually, it's common for the actual food to look worse than in the photos, but this was the opposite! Of course, one serving of rice wasn't enough for these side dishes... I ended up getting a half serving extra. Oh dear, I'm going to get fat... [March 2015] After working in the Kasumigaseki Building, I met up with a former boss whom I used to drink with often. He works in the Kasumigaseki Building but it was his first time drinking at Bunkura. It's funny how you can overlook good places right under your nose. The evening at Bunkura was really good. The famous Bunkura grilled chicken thigh is basically like curry. It's packed with spices! It was so delicious that I wanted more rice. I also had the grilled chicken assortment, which was of a high quality. The prices for drinks were reasonable too. The Hoppy set was only 399 yen, and other drinks were not too expensive either. They also had high-quality shochu and sake for those who prefer them. My former boss, who I had taken to many disappointing places in the past, said, "This time, you've actually found a good place. I didn't know there was such a good restaurant nearby." But when payday comes, it's back to Saizeriya (laughs). [Year 2014, Forgot the month] The lunch here is quite filling and delicious. The rice is refillable, and it's relatively easy to get a seat without much wait. Since I had work in the Kasumigaseki Building in the afternoon, I arrived at noon to have lunch. The 1F restaurant area in the Kasumigaseki Building is always crowded with people working in the building. Popular places have long lines, especially for bento boxes. I made the mistake of going directly into the building to find a place for lunch. However, Bunkura was the only place without a line, so I was able to get in easily. Although the seats were almost full and we were sitting almost shoulder to shoulder, it wasn't too cramped. The lunch menu is all under 1,000 yen and quite filling. The rice is refillable. I was tempted by the sashimi set meal and simmered fish, but ended up ordering the pork cutlet with egg for 800 yen. The set meal arrived in about 5 minutes. The simmered cutlet (as they call it in Tokyo) was probably a processed product, but it was tender and delicious. The seasoning was just right, not too strong or weak, not too sweet or spicy. The rice was also cooked well and served in a small portion initially, which would please those with small appetites. They quickly brought out the refill when requested. The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly, which is expected but not always easy in such a crowded place. So why isn't such a good restaurant with no lines? It's because of the lunch prices in Kasumigaseki. It's a prestigious area, so you would think the average lunch price is around 1,000 yen, but it's actually around 600 yen. Marunouchi and Otemachi are around 1,000 yen, but that's because they are financial and conglomerate areas. Kasumigaseki and Toranomon are government official areas, so the prices are more modest. This restaurant offers lunches starting from 800 yen, which might explain why it's not as crowded. Perhaps the value of the place is not widely known. I would be honored if this review made you think, "Bunkura's lunch might be good."

First floor of Kasumi Dining. It is located near Mr. Hungry and Pronto. I visited for lunch on a weekday. Lunch at Kasumi Dining is always crowded, but this place was relatively quiet. There were only about 5 people in line, so we were seated in about 2-3 minutes. Lunch menu is centered around 800 yen. They have a variety of popular dishes such as sashimi, simmered fish, grilled fish, minced cutlet, fried chicken, and curry. (Sashimi set is 950 yen.) I ordered the "Grilled Fish Set." It arrived in about 10 minutes. The grilled fish of the day was mackerel. It was a large half fish with the head still attached. It had a good amount of fat and was topped with plenty of grated radish, which made me quite satisfied. It also came with cold tofu, miso soup, and rice. There are many hit-or-miss places at Kasumi Dining for lunch, so it's nice to have a reliable option. There is nothing particularly outstanding, but it's a place where you won't go wrong.

I had a late lunch at KASUMI Dining in the basement of the Kasumigaseki Building, and then decided to try Kanekoya Bunzo, which seems to be operated by the company that runs Dankaya. The lunch menu is priced around 800 yen, with options ranging from grilled fish to fried dishes. I chose the simmered fish set meal (800 yen). It was served quickly after I ordered. The simmered fish appeared to be red snapper, accompanied by simmered egg and daikon, cold tofu, miso soup, rice, and pickles. The quality of the rice was decent, and the portion of the fish was on the smaller side. Despite the dark color of the simmering broth, it wasn't overly strong and had a pleasantly ordinary taste. The price of 800 yen felt neither expensive nor cheap, but rather fair. I thought the speed of service was commendable.

Blacksmith Bunzo, Kasumigaseki Branch, April 27th, Noon. It's raining today. Even on days like this, if you have some free time, you can escape from the office building. It's time for a lunch break, so if necessary, you can be called back on your mobile phone. It's crowded with people during lunchtime on rainy days, especially at Kasumidining & Kasumicomongate, with many restaurants. Hmm, as expected, everywhere is busy with long lines! Furthermore, they are holding a lottery draw at the food establishments in this area. With this wind and rain, many office workers, OLs, and professionals in the Kasumigaseki Building, Central Joint Government Building No. 7, and neighboring New Kasumigaseki Building are staying away. Lunchtime is usually settled at the many food establishments on the first floor of this building, with a sense of being on the basement floor due to the building structure. Moreover, it was a cold day, which made people even more reluctant to go out. Let's find a shop with fewer lines. I don't want junk hamburgers, ethnic food, or curry shops. Ah, there it is, a Japanese restaurant. This is an izakaya called Kajiya Bunzo. For lunch, they have sashimi or boiled fish set meals, as well as chicken cutlet or minced cutlet set meals. Perhaps the quickest option is the sashimi set meal, which requires no cooking. As I was considering this, all the customers in the restaurant suddenly left. It must be for the preparations for the evening menu. I wonder how lively it is at night in this Kasumi Dining restaurant in the Kasumigaseki Building. KASUMI DINING in Kasumigaseki Building, all the shops here serve delicious lunches. I was able to enter immediately and sat at the counter. I ordered the sashimi set meal for 950 yen, but it took a while for the order to arrive. Was it forgotten? After about 15 minutes, the sashimi set meal was brought to me. It included tuna, salmon, yellowtail, sweet shrimp, octopus, squid, and more. The miso soup with seaweed under the lid was delicious. The rice was fluffy and tasty. I was able to enjoy it slowly. Thank you for the meal. P.S. Looking at the menu photos, the simmered fish set meal and grilled fish set meal also seem appealing with a variety of dishes like simmered radish, simmered egg, pickles, and miso soup.

I visited Kasumigaseki. I was worried there might not be any cheap lunch options around here, but after walking around the Kasumigaseki Building, I found Kasumi Dining which houses the well-regarded Izakaya Kajiya Bunzo. I decided to have lunch at Kajiya Bunzo. The lunch options were priced at around 800 yen, slightly higher than in the Saitama area. Many of the lunch sets were sold out, but the "simmered fish set" was still available. I ordered it and sat at the counter. The atmosphere was nice, and the food was served promptly. The set included simmered vegetables, simmered egg, simmered fish, pickles, miso soup, and rice. The dishes were well-presented and the food was delicious. The simmered fish was red snapper, cooked perfectly and easy to eat. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch experience at Kajiya Bunzo.

I arrived at the restaurant just before 1 p.m. on a regular day. Despite there being empty seats, I had to wait because it seemed like there were not enough staff during lunchtime. However, after waiting for a few minutes, I was seated. I ordered the pork cutlet and egg bowl set (800 yen), but they told me that they were out of pork cutlet for the day. They offered me a minced cutlet instead, which I accepted. It arrived relatively quickly, and the minced cutlet and egg bowl in a hot pot looked appetizing. It was delicious, but the flavor was a bit strong. It was a bit disappointing that it was too salty. Nevertheless, I was intrigued by the variety of dishes on the menu displayed on the wall. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the first floor restaurant street of the Kasumigaseki Building, this chain izakaya is the Kasumigaseki branch. There are nearly 50 branches in Tokyo, Saitama, and Kanagawa prefectures. It feels like a place where many office workers gather. The banquet course includes small dishes, Chorogi salad, sashimi, salmon with ponzu flavor, grilled chicken skewers, tsukune, and you can choose from motsu or cod and chicken for the hot pot. Choosing motsu and finishing with champon costs only 2000 yen, which is surprisingly affordable. The all-you-can-drink option is 1500 yen. For lunch, they offer dishes like fried chicken set meal, ginger grilled set meal, grilled fish, simmered fish, and sashimi set meal.
