Asahi Broadcasting [LIFE ~ Shape of Dreams ~] broadcast on 2020/9/26 [Kansai Gourmet Line] broadcast on 2020/12/6 Introducing izakaya restaurants in the Kansai region A popular gourmet portal site features the [Rum Raisin Mont Blanc] [L maga.jp] on 2020/8/15 [Fresh Peach Custard] is also introduced at this popular and famous restaurant. [Overview] Located in the fiercely competitive shaved ice district of Nakazaki-cho, a high-end shop called "Shaved Ice Herbal Soup Bisei" opened on July 17, 2020. Before that, it was operated on a sublease basis during the daytime at a Japanese restaurant and bar in Kitashinchi from June 2018. In December, a "Pistachio Tree" designed as a Christmas tree became a hot topic for being "Instagrammable," resulting in long lines forming at the store, making it a popular spot. The owner has self-taught himself shaved ice and makes it by hand. They use carefully selected seasonal fruits and homemade sauces without any preservatives, using only condensed milk-based syrup. The syrup is prepared the night before using fresh fruits and fresh cream. They use pure ice without any impurities. Each step is carefully taken to ensure quality. With a wide variety of specialty-filled menus, the shaved ice looks more like a cake in terms of creativity. There are no regular menu items, only seasonal and limited-time items that change every time, adding to the excitement of choosing. In the early summer, limited-time menu items include peaches, musk melons, watermelons, and zunda. If you visit later in the day, many items may be sold out. The customer base is mainly in their 20s. Price range is from 1600 yen to 1800 yen. The price has been increasing year by year. * During the autumn to winter season, they offer a "Herbal Soup" with ginger and chili peppers to warm up the body after eating shaved ice. From July to September in the peak of summer, reservations via direct message are required from 7:00 pm two days before. Previously, the shaved ice used to be served in a normal bowl, but when I revisited after several months, around November, all items were served on flat plates. [Exterior] Located on the 2nd floor of a two-story old house in the attic. The 1st floor has a beauty salon with a small-sized Billiken doll sitting outside. Near the entrance, there is a tapestry of "ice" and a stand sign with a photo, making it easy to find. [Interior] About 15 square meters. The narrow aisle with hanging lamps leads to the stairs, where the exposed beams and pillars give a retro atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa era. The renovation left the original wooden structure exposed, creating a warm and historical ambiance from the floor, walls, and ceiling. The whole place is illuminated by harmonious ceiling lights, creating a calm atmosphere. The checkout area is decorated with miscellaneous items such as glass bottles and badges for sale. The badge sales are all donated to a Hair Donation organization, reflecting their thoughtful spirit. There are two staff members. [Seating] 10 seats with chairs in natural brown and emerald green, 6 counter seats, and 2 tables with 4 seats each. [Ice Maker] Hatsuyuki. [Cutlery] Made in TSUBAME, established in 2008. It is a well-known metalworking town in Tsubame, Niigata Prefecture, with a history dating back to the early Edo period. [Dishes] Transparent heat-resistant glass plates from DURALEX, a French manufacturer. DURALEX has a factory in France and is known for producing the world's first tempered glass tumbler in 1939. A brown tray is used as a substitute for plates. [Ordered Menu] 6 different items, all served on flat plates today. ★Pumpkin Mont Blanc - Preparation time: 9 minutes. Since it was a limited-time item, I chose this one. The top was adorned with candied chestnuts, giving a cozy texture. Surprisingly, it was not fruit flesh but seeds. The bright yellow pumpkin sauce covered generously, leaving a lingering taste of soft pumpkin. Surrounding it, rum raisins were elegantly placed, adding a slightly bitter taste that was refreshing. The Mont Blanc, with its moist and grid-like texture, seemed to melt away, sinking below. Milk cream sauce and Mont Blanc cream were placed right below, combining a rich sweetness with condensed milk and ice. [Previously Ordered Menu] Today, I had the Pumpkin Mont Blanc, but in 2020 and 2021, I had...

One of the well-known shaved ice shops in Osaka is called Mio. After making a reservation via Instagram DM, I finally got to visit the shop! The shop is small with about 10 seats, located on the second floor with a narrow and steep staircase. The Zunda Shiratama Suika shaved ice costs 1700 yen, and it was even bigger than I had imagined! It was served on a large plate with a mound of ice. The base was salted milk with zunda paste, chunks of watermelon, shiratama (rice flour dumplings), whipped cream, and more. The ice was fluffy and delicious, but the portion was so large that I got a bit tired of the taste before finishing it. I have eaten quite a few large shaved ice desserts before, but I couldn't finish this one... I realized that you need to go there with a very empty stomach. Also, even in the summer, consuming this much ice can make you feel very cold, so you might need something to cover yourself up. Customers without reservations were all turned away, so it's essential to make a reservation in advance during the summer.

This is a popular shop located in the Nakazakicho area, east of Umeda, which is known for its selection of shaved ice. It is situated on the second floor of an old Japanese house, up a steep staircase. The atmosphere is quiet, with no music playing, creating a relaxing ambiance. The shop offers a variety of unique shaved ice options, so I decided to try something different. I ordered the soy sauce butter corn mochi, while my friend chose the peach cream cheese salad. The soy sauce butter corn mochi was delicious, with plenty of soy sauce butter corn on top of the ice, and mochi underneath. The portion was generous, with a large amount of toppings on top of the ice. I was initially unsure about the combination of butter and ice, but it turned out to be surprisingly tasty. Although I had some doubts initially, I found myself craving the unique flavor the next night. Many customers were turned away due to the shop being fully booked, so it is recommended to make a reservation. The reservation process is outlined in the shop's Instagram profile under "#かき氷みしょうについて". Overall, the shop is highly recommended for shaved ice enthusiasts, with engaging Instagram posts and passionate reviews that make it worth checking out.

■Kinki Kids Forever ¥2,000 The shaved ice arrived in about 10 minutes from ordering. It turns out it was a limited edition ice for one day only, coinciding with KinKi Kids' debut anniversary! I couldn't resist ordering it. It was a whole peach slice! Surprisingly light and refreshing! I especially liked the Earl Grey cream. ■Zunda Anmitsu ¥1,700 The shaved ice arrived in about 15 minutes from ordering. It was a perfect combination of zunda paste, sweet red beans, water yokan, shiratama (rice flour dumplings), whipped cream, condensed milk. Personally, I preferred this one ♩ Both came on a flat plate and were surprisingly large in size. I've had a lot of shaved ice before, but the portion was so generous that I couldn't help but exclaim (laughs). Shaved ice that is visually enjoyable as well, thumbs up! ※Weekday 1:30 PM, payment method: cash. Thank you for the meal!

Misho-san loves the shaved ice shop the most. The reasons why Misho-san likes this place are: 1. The plate serving style is generous, with a plate about 20 cm in diameter. 2. They use fresh and carefully selected fruits. 3. The menu changes frequently so you don't get bored. 4. The cream and other toppings are all homemade and delicious. 5. The sense of combining ingredients is excellent. 6. You can see that they put their heart into shaving each ice. 7. Despite its size, the ice is fluffy so it doesn't give you a headache. This time, I had the "Zunda Shiratama Watermelon" which was delicious. The watermelon was sweet, seedless, and tasty on its own. The zunda paste had a grainy texture intentionally left, with a perfect balance of saltiness that complemented the watermelon. It was really delicious and the color combination of "red, white, and green" was beautiful. With white milk sauce and watermelon sauce drizzled until the end, you won't get tired of eating it. For 1700 yen, I don't think it's expensive. There may be some inconvenience in making a reservation or the distance from the station, but it's a really favorite place. I wish it was closer so I could go there every day.

I visited the shop at 1:00 pm and was told it would be okay to come back at 2:00 pm, so I killed some time and returned. I ordered the "Devil's Whisper," which is made with plenty of Nara's small strawberries called "Kohka." It was topped with strawberry syrup and golden vanilla cream, making it look like a whole cake. I thought it would be quite heavy, but the cream was not too sweet, the condensed milk was not overly sweet, and the lemon marmalade added an adult taste as an accent. It was my first time trying such an evolved shaved ice, and I was surprised by how delicious it was. It costs 2,000 yen, which is somewhat expensive, but it is definitely worth it.

Ordered menu: Soy butter corn mochi on a small plate, Crafty with a small portion of Furukoka on a plate. A few minutes' walk from Nakazakicho Station. I made a reservation and visited. It came out in a few minutes. My first time trying a dish made of ice. The saltiness of soy sauce, the sweetness of butter and corn, all blend well with the ice! The occasional mochi that comes out is delightful! Surprisingly, it's easy to eat with a spoon! The burnt custard is crispy, sweet, and makes you happy. The crispy texture of the pie is a nice contrast to the fluffy texture of the ice! It's great that there's plenty of Furukoka inside! There's a lot of custard and cream, and it's sweet but not overwhelming. I ordered a small portion of one of them, but it was quite a lot and I was full. Thank you for the meal.

It was incredibly delicious - the cocktail of autumn harvest was full of autumn fruits and all of them were delicious! The jelly had a firm texture with pear, Nagano purple, persimmon, and Shine Muscat, all of which I liked! The fig fromage wine was tasty too - compared to the sake I had here before, it didn't have much alcohol taste, making it easy to eat! The fig was in the sauce, although it was a bit disappointing that there were no fruit toppings, as a fig lover. But the shaved Grana Padano was good, and I liked the overall balance! The portion was big, so my organs and mouth got cold, I wish the staff would offer hot tea, seriously. Even if I want to call them multiple times, they don't pay attention to customers at all, so I feel awkward and hesitate to walk all the way to the kitchen to call them. It would be better if they made hot tea self-serve like at Kakigori Kenkyujo.

I have been going to this restaurant since last year or the year before, but for some reason, I have never left a review on Tabelog. You can make a reservation through Instagram DM and walk-ins are usually difficult in the summer. If you like fruit-based dishes, you will enjoy their menu. They also have rice dishes available. The menu changes monthly to use seasonal fruits. The portions are generous. There is only one restroom in the restaurant. The restaurant is located on the second floor up a narrow staircase. The owner seems to be busy shaving ice, while the staff handle the register, hall, and kitchen. They serve hot tea, but they never call out when it's empty, and I have never witnessed them doing so.

My favorite shaved ice shop is "Mio". Reservations are only accepted via DM on Instagram two business days before at 7pm, and it gets fully booked quickly during this season. Shaved ice seems to have a low barrier to entry, as there are many shops, but I like this one for the following reasons: 1. Large portion size 2. Menu changes frequently so you don't get bored 3. Unique combinations of ingredients 4. Price is high but worth it 5. The owner's personality is great 6. Homemade sauces are delicious. This time, the shaved ice had chunks of Andes melon in melon peel, topped with fresh cream, melon sauce, condensed milk, milk cream sauce, and a cherry. The portion size is huge, the melon chunks are plentiful, the chocolate cream is not too sweet but delicious, and although it's not cheap at 1800 yen, it's worth it for the amount of fresh fruit. The owner always thanks you with a smile, even when busy, and although it's a struggle to make reservations, I want to visit this shop at least once a week if it's nearby. Will definitely be back!

In a narrow alley in Nakazaki-cho, you'll find this shop. You climb up a steep staircase to get there. This time, my friend made a reservation for us, and we finally got to go! I had the Satonishiki and plum shaved ice. It looks like a cake with its presentation. The taste was a bit mild, maybe to highlight the Satonishiki and plum flavors, and it melts quickly, making it feel like you're drinking soup, haha. My friend had the pistachio and American cherry, which had a strong flavor, so it seems like there are hits and misses on the menu. Next time, I want to try the Zunda and watermelon shaved ice.

I finally got to go to the place I've always wanted to go, Kakigori Mishou! I arrived at 12:30 and managed to make a reservation for 6:00. It was worth the wait for the amazing shaved ice. I shared the Hanamizuki and Raspberry Cherry Cream Cheese Daifuku with my friends. The shaved ice served on a flat plate was incredibly voluminous. The pistachio and strawberry flavors were elegantly sweet and delicious. The cream cheese daifuku with chewy mochi was fantastic. I will definitely go again. Thank you for the wonderful meal! 😊

Today is a hot day! Perfect weather for shaved ice. I made a reservation on Instagram for a second-floor store, so I climbed the steep stairs and had the "Devil's Whisper" spinach bacon and potato soup. It was a generous portion. The Devil's Whisper was strawberry-filled. It looked like a cake, with not only strawberries but also cream, offering a variety of flavors to enjoy without getting tired. The spinach bacon was delicious!! It was interesting! It seemed like a cold potato soup. Satisfied snack time. Thank you for the meal.

I had the Hanami Dango with Kotohana topping and Lost Cherry! The Hanami Dango had a strong mugwort flavor, and the dango and yokan were very delicious, I finished them all by myself! The Lost Cherry with Kotohana was sweet, with lots of kotohana, cherry, and jelly inside, and the nut cream and nuts on top were also very tasty! After eating shaved ice, I had the Corn Chinese Soup of the day. It was full of corn, nutmeg, wolfberry, leeks, and wood ear mushrooms, very delicious! I will definitely go back again! Thank you for the meal.

The Creamy Apollo from Kotoka is a dessert that costs 1,700 yen and includes plenty of Kotoka, strawberry sauce, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, caramel sauce, and milk on the side. The reviewer mentioned that the dessert resembled the traditional New Year's red Fuji and gold Fuji dishes, with strawberries surrounding the dish. However, they found that the chocolate sauce was too thin and lacked a strong chocolate flavor. The presentation on a flat plate also made it look more like a UFO than an Apollo. Despite these shortcomings, the reviewer managed to finish the parts covered in sauce and felt satisfied.

This is my second visit. I really wanted to try the bacon shaved ice. The Cinderella Christmas here has pumpkin paste with bacon, sour cream onion, consomme-flavored snacks, etc. It's like a shaved ice that looks like a side dish, which piqued my curiosity. The combination of Grana Padano and pepper is also intriguing. It's a combination that makes sense when you eat it. It's slightly sweet and salty with an interesting texture. It's not overly sweet and salty. There's a bit of acidity from the cherry compote. It's much more interesting and delicious than I imagined. This restaurant, Bisei, fulfills my desire for shaved ice that changes its taste every time you eat it. I will come back again. Thank you for the meal.

Ancient Capital Hana's Bushido Noel (2000 yen) features Nara's strawberry, condensed milk, strawberry sauce, sweet chestnut paste, milk cream, powdered sugar, and rum cream or fresh cream. The condensed milk seeped into the fluffy shaved ice, with a sweet strawberry sauce and chunks of strawberries inside. The sweet chestnut paste on top is rich and not too sweet. Cinderella Christmas (1700 yen) includes pumpkin sauce, pumpkin paste, crispy bacon, condensed milk, sour cream onion, sour cherry compote, milk cream sauce, grated Grana Padano cheese, and black pepper. It's a savory shaved ice like a side dish for the first time! The pumpkin sauce was not too sweet, and there was a generous amount of crispy bacon. It also had a lot of fried onions and a very rich pumpkin paste inside. The portion size is huge, like a birthday cake. The combination of crispy bacon and sweet ice was not to my liking. The volume of one serving is amazing, like a birthday cake. From sweets to side dishes, check the menu change on the shop's Instagram!

This famous shaved ice shop is very popular and almost impossible to get a reservation during the season! I managed to get a reservation on a weekday off-season and visited the shop located in the atmospheric neighborhood of Nakazakicho. The shop is on the second floor of a traditional Japanese house and can seat about 10 people. The menu changes quite frequently, making it worth visiting multiple times. The lineup on October 17, 2021, includes: - Grilled sweet potato with rum milk (¥1600) - Pumpkin cinnamon milk (¥1600) - Cream cheese with calvados (¥1600) - Rare cheesecake with early mandarin orange (¥1500) - Chestnut Mont Blanc (¥1600) - Persimmon marinated with white sesame cream cheese (¥1600)

I ordered a melon and mascarpone shaved ice for 1,600 yen. I set an alarm for Friday night, but I ended up being 5 minutes late past 7:00 (・_・、). I had even sent a reservation request through Instagram DM, so I decided to give it a shot and placed an order. To my surprise, the next morning I received a reply saying they would accept reservations at the requested time. I really wanted to eat melon. I love shaved ice with lots of fruits. I was torn between ordering the mascarpone melon or the red-fleshed melon, but I ended up choosing the red-fleshed one this time! I was so satisfied with how it looked. I was really struggling to decide, as I had originally requested the mascarpone melon, but changed my mind right after. I wonder if the mascarpone melon will still be waiting for me next time. Maybe I'll try the peach next time, or will the mascarpone melon still be there for me?

Misho-san, who is very popular, recently moved from Kitashinchi to Nakazakicho. Looking at the owner's Instagram, you can tell that there is a lot of love put into not just shaving the ice, but also in the way it's shaved and the ingredients used! There are many delicious shaved ice shops in Osaka, each with their own style. This one may be on the pricier side starting at around 1300 yen, but the portions are generous and great for those with a big appetite (not recommended for those with a weak stomach). I tried the luxurious shaved ice made with fresh red meat melon this time! The melon was perfectly ripe and delicious! Inside, there was plenty of mascarpone cream that paired perfectly with it! It felt like eating a melon tiramisu. The quality was top-notch! The menu changes frequently so you won't get bored, and I definitely want to come back again. The only downside is that it's hard to get a reservation due to its popularity. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

As the hot season approaches, I visited a shaved ice shop that I go to every year. They moved to Nakazaki-cho last year. The shaved ice menu varies depending on the day, but when I went, they had my favorite melon flavor, so I got really excited. It was a hot day and I didn't have a reservation, so I waited for over 30 minutes. The shaved ice had a huge impact!! Just eating the ice gave a strong melon flavor, and it was topped with whipped cream which paired really well with the melon. Inside was condensed milk and the melon flavor was only on the outside. It was delicious! Very satisfying! It's a popular shop, so next time I'll have to make a reservation.
