This is a popular yakitori restaurant. It often ranks high in media rankings. When I first entered the non-smoking section, there were no customers and even the staff were absent, which felt a bit awkward (laughs). The yakitori, grilled at high temperature until crispy, is all incredibly delicious. The long skewers are also nice. The raw chicken liver melts in your mouth, highly recommended.

This time, I visited KENTA-san. The yakitori was all in a really easy-to-eat size, and the deliciousness melted in my mouth. The cute bowl of beef tendon curry rice had just the right amount of green onions to stimulate my appetite, and I polished it off. For dessert, there was matcha ice cream! I was very satisfied. I would like to visit again.

I randomly walked into this restaurant and later checked the Tabelog rating, I must say I have a good eye. The restaurant is divided into smoking and non-smoking sections from the entrance, and in the smoking section, they grill the food right in front of you. The grilling technique is excellent and the food is delicious. They offer various cuts of meat and have a selection of wine, sake, and shochu. I tried some sake that can only be found locally and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place if you want to eat delicious yakitori.

I used to pass by this shop and it always seemed very busy, so I thought it must be a popular place, but it felt a bit intimidating to go in alone. This time, I was looking for another shop but it was closed, so I ended up going to this nearby shop. When I opened the door, they asked if I was okay with sitting in the smoking section. I said I preferred non-smoking, so they directed me to a long narrow table with only a counter, and there were no other customers. Well, this seems like a place I can visit alone! Of course, I ordered the recommended dish, which was raw liver and beer. The portion was generous and the flavor was great, especially with sesame oil and soy sauce. Since it's a yakitori restaurant, I also tried a few skewers. The only downside was that in these times, they didn't have any acrylic barriers, which was a bit disappointing.

The smoking and non-smoking sections are separated right down the middle from the entrance of the restaurant. The non-smoking section only has counter seats. In Kyushu's Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures, it's common to eat raw chicken, but I didn't expect to be able to eat it in Kitakyushu, so I was impressed. A must-try here is the white liver sashimi and grilled horse meat with salt! The white liver is sweet and crunchy, while the horse meat has a chewy texture similar to skirt steak. The chicken itself tastes like a regular broiler chicken.

Along the Sanroad Uomachi, there is a stylish yakitori restaurant called "Yakitori KENTA" with a striking black signboard that says "We have white liver sashimi". As a fan of liver sashimi, I visited for the first time because it is a popular restaurant on the main street of Uomachi. I arrived at 5 pm with plans at 6 pm, so I decided to use it as a pre-dinner gathering as there were surprisingly few customers, probably due to the influence of the coronavirus. The interior of the restaurant is divided into two rooms, each with a long counter (about 12 seats), giving a clean and stylish atmosphere. Cabbage appetizers were served, but with limited time, I only ordered the liver sashimi. The white liver sashimi is a classic menu item at KENTA. The sauce options provided were sesame oil (salt) and soy sauce (ginger) - I chose sesame oil. Despite its white color, the liver had a firm texture and a rich umami flavor that spread smoothly in the mouth. Overall, I regret not trying this sooner and look forward to a more serious visit next time. Thank you for the meal. [Today's Order] *White Liver Sashimi 690 yen *Draft Beer (medium) 590 yen *Shochu (Kuro Kirishima) 430 yen

Visited for the first time around 6:30 pm on February 4, 2021. There are two entrances? Why? Turns out they separate smoking and non-smoking areas, which is great for me as a non-smoker. There were over 12 seats at the counter only. No tatami, hori-gotatsu, or table seats. Ordered horse sashimi, white liver sashimi, grilled items like skin, liver, and tsukune. They even had Akaboshi beer! That really raised the excitement level. After the cabbage appetizer, the ordered dishes took a while to arrive. It's a shame, considering there weren't many customers. The horse sashimi was a bit disappointing with tough cuts, but the white liver sashimi was a hit! Very delicious. However, the skin we ordered first still hadn't arrived after an hour. The service was efficient but lacked warmth or smiles. When I tried to find change after paying with a 10,000 yen bill, the staff quickly retreated without giving me a chance to get smaller bills. Overall, the food was good, so it gets a passing grade.

I have been going to this favorite restaurant regularly since I was taken there two years ago. Whenever I come here, I always order the white liver sashimi! I used to dislike liver, but after trying liver sashimi, it became one of my favorite foods! I still don't like cooked or stewed liver... When it comes to yakitori, I prefer it rare (lol). The first bite of the white liver sashimi has a crunchy texture, and the rest is tender and meaty, which I really love. I feel a bit low on energy if I don't eat this regularly (I know it sounds exaggerated, but it's true). They serve it with both soy sauce and sesame oil, and I tried both, but I prefer sesame oil. If I'm alone, I am almost satisfied with just the white liver sashimi and a set of 7 yakitori skewers. The 7 skewers were quite filling because each one had a decent portion (◎_◎). Usually, I avoid ordering mixed platters because they often come with vegetables, but here it's all meat, so I couldn't resist ordering it (lol). Everything was delicious, but I was particularly surprised by the chicken wings. The bones were removed, so you can eat them easily! The beef skirt had a strong charcoal flavor, just like at a yakiniku restaurant (◍•ᴗ•◍). I felt like I could eat a little more, so I ordered the potato salad for the first time. It was a visually appealing type with a whole soft-boiled egg on top! It had a mustardy, spicy adult-like flavor that would be perfect as a snack. I prefer the classic mayonnaise-based potato salad, so this was not exactly to my taste, but I appreciated the attention to detail. There are many interesting dishes on the menu, so I never get tired of coming back! They also have a wide selection of sweet and easy-to-drink alcoholic beverages. However, the space is quite small, so some people may find the seating uncomfortable... I've been curious about their beef tendon curry here, but I haven't had the chance to try it yet, so I'll go for lunch one day and check it out☆

Stylish restaurant! I felt that the atmosphere was different from the image of a yakitori shop! I happened to stop by on my way back to the parking lot during a work training session. The friendly owner greeted me and I had a very enjoyable lunch with delicious yakitori set at a great price! I would love to go back again.

I visited this restaurant because I wanted to eat yakitori and saw the reviews. The seating is only at the counter, with yakitori lined up in front of you in a showcase. I ordered various skewers one by one. I also ordered a half glass of sparkling wine, which was reasonably priced. I don't eat much chicken at yakitori restaurants, so I ordered pork belly, beef belly, and quail bacon. They were delicious and went well with the drinks. I noticed a menu item for garlic sprouts on the kitchen wall and ordered it. There were options for grilled or tempura, and I chose tempura without hesitation. The tempura had a crispy outer layer and a soft garlic inside. The outer part was a bit burnt and remained on the plate, but I mainly enjoyed the softer part. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Our shop located in the Fish Town arcade seems to have a fairly long history. They offer a variety of traditional cuts as well as rare cuts, making it a great place for enthusiasts like me who enjoy unique cuts. I started with the chicken liver sashimi. It was incredibly fresh with a sweet taste, and it paired well with the soy sauce from Kyushu and shochu. I also tried the tokkuri (chicken gizzard), which is said to be only available at our shop in Kitakyushu (I appreciate the unpretentious atmosphere compared to other places in Fukuoka). It had a good texture and taste, although I felt it might have been better with sauce instead of being grilled with salt. Perhaps it was just the way it was prepared that day. In Fukuoka's yakitori restaurants, the classic choice is pork belly. Don't worry about whether it's the standard choice at a yakitori place - it's a must-have skewer. The balance of salt and pepper seasoning is excellent, making pork belly in Fukuoka consistently delicious. I also tried a rare flavor of miso-marinated pork belly, which was not bad, but I still prefer the salt seasoning. I usually avoid chicken skin due to its high calorie content, and I don't particularly like the soft type, but I appreciate being able to request my preferred level of doneness. I had it with sauce, and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. The horse sashimi had a slightly chewy texture with some tendon remaining, but the lean meat was still delicious.

I really wanted to eat yakitori. I searched around and finally found a place. They only had counter seats, which I love! I ordered a beer, deciding on a medium size. I ordered items like chicken liver, negima, skin, pork belly, bonjiri, and a few others. However, the appetizer never came, which was a bit disappointing. The beer didn't taste as good without it. It seemed like the staff was new and made some mistakes with our order. The service was slow, with one skewer coming out at a time, taking about 5 minutes between each. The salt on the skewers was a bit weak, and the skin was more burnt than crispy. The best dish was the garlic sprout tempura. Overall, I had high hopes for the yakitori but left feeling a bit unsatisfied.

The atmosphere of the restaurant, the stylish name, or maybe because the manager is handsome, always attracts groups of female customers. It may not seem like a place for solo diners, but for some reason, I find myself visiting regularly. They specialize in "shirako," a type of chicken known for its high quality. The sauce is unique, with a strong umami flavor from kombu seaweed, but also retaining the richness and aroma of soy sauce. It's a bit distinctive, almost a little funky. The grilling method, using gas, sometimes results in the sauce getting burnt. While caramelization can enhance the flavor, the soy sauce seems to overpower it, leading to a noticeable burnt smell. Gas grilling has its own merits, but in this particular restaurant, one can't help but wonder how it would taste over charcoal. Despite my criticisms, I must emphasize that the quality of the ingredients and meat is excellent. The "VKC" cocktail is also worth mentioning, with a refreshing finish that cuts through the richness of the grilled chicken. When I asked about the meaning of "VKC," I was playfully told to figure it out myself, only to later learn that it stands for "Vodka based Kenta's specialty Cocktail," incorporating the manager's name and expertise. A clever naming choice, even though it left me puzzled at first.

I really wanted to eat yakitori, so I headed to my usual restaurant, but it was closed. So, I decided to try this other restaurant instead. It was quite busy even though it was a weeknight. The left side of the restaurant was full, so I sat at the counter on the right side where they only served drinks. Both sides only had counter seats, no tables. The menu was reasonably priced and focused on yakitori, but it had a pub-like atmosphere with options like curry and fried potatoes. I wondered if kids were allowed since I didn't see any there. I ordered some skewers, and they came out quickly from the grill in the other side of the restaurant. The meat seemed good quality, and even though I didn't order it, the chicken liver sashimi didn't seem too smelly. The seasoning and cooking style might be subjective, so it's hard to comment on yakitori. The cabbage was refillable, which was great. The curry was on the sweeter side, but adding some spice made it more adult-friendly. The rice portion was quite generous, so sharing might be a good idea. Overall, it felt like a great deal.

A yakitori restaurant in Ogura Uomachi. The store has a simple counter setup. I stopped by on a whim. It seems to be a popular place as it was crowded with many regular customers. The menu recommended the white liver sashimi, so I ordered it right away. I also ordered the omakase yakitori set of 7 skewers. The white liver was reasonably fresh and had a creamy texture, quite delicious. The yakitori skewers were on the smaller side, but they were juicy and well-cooked. Feeling like I wanted more, I added grilled pig trotters. They were full of collagen and had a nice chewy texture. The energetic chef also provided good service, which was nice. If you're in Ogura, it's worth revisiting. However, the high rate of smoking among customers may be a bit tough to handle.

Yakitori restaurant located in Uomachi, Kokura Kita-ku, Kitakyushu City. The specialty of this restaurant is chicken sashimi and white liver. I visited with another person. We ordered grilled chicken tail, grilled beef tongue with salt, and various skewers such as heart, pork belly, white liver, chicken breast with plum, and chicken breast with salt. As a side dish, we had cabbage. The chicken tail was crunchy and served with a ginger and soy sauce. The grilled beef tongue was juicy and well-seasoned. The heart, pork belly, and white liver were all delicious. The chicken breast skewers with plum and salt were also tasty. We also tried a mini curry from the neighboring curry restaurant (Umabuchi). My companion had ochazuke. The cabbage served as a side dish had a tangy sauce. Overall, the yakitori was slightly light in flavor, but the fresh ingredients allowed the natural flavors to shine through. It was a delightful meal.

Counter-only shop. I tried various things here, but the liver was fresh and delicious ☆ The only thing that stands out is that the drinks are a bit weak (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) You can eat reasonably tasty yakitori here. The seasoning of the yakitori felt a bit light. The way of grilling is normal, with about 3 yakitori shops within a 1-minute walk, so please try hopping around (^○^) Deliciousness 5/10 Atmosphere 4/10 Cost performance 4/10 Customer service 5/10 Likelihood to repeat 4/10
