After seeing a post from MyRebi-san whose food preferences match mine, I visited Ranen Restaurant Main Store and ordered the day trip meal for 1300 yen, limited to 30 meals a day, with extra large portion of shrimp chili rice. When I asked how many Ranen Restaurants are there in the Shinbashi area, I was told there are 4 other branches that operate independently. In addition to the main clay pot dish, the deluxe version includes 6 side dishes including soup, and the slightly spicy shrimp chili on rice was delicious. I ended up asking for a second helping of rice, and was kindly offered to try the Katsuo pickled Chinese-style dish as a complimentary service. After finishing the meal with cold Oolong tea, I left feeling satisfied and full.

Lunch exploration in the Shinbashi area. It's about a 10-minute walk from Shinbashi Station. A Chinese restaurant along the back alley of Akarenga Street. It is located behind the Uchimori Shrine. The exterior is stylish. The interior is more like a cafe than a Chinese restaurant. I arrived around 12:30 and had to wait a bit. The lunch menu mainly consists of set meals, with about 20 options to choose from. Prices range from 900 yen to 1500 yen, with about 5-6 choices in each price range based on the contents. Today, I had the Shrimp Chili Sauce Lunch for 1430 yen. The main dish of shrimp chili sauce was simmering in a ceramic pot. The set included plenty of shrimp, chili sauce, octopus and squid seafood marinade, cheese and asparagus spring rolls, fried shrimp, chicken wings, shumai, Chinese tofu and egg soup, mini salad, pickles, and rice. The side dishes were varied, with 2 shumai, cheese and asparagus spring rolls, fried shrimp, chicken wings, Chinese tofu and egg soup, octopus and squid marinade, and a generous amount of shrimp chili sauce with medium-sized shrimp. It looked like a sweet chili sauce, but it was actually spicy. I poured it over the rice to make a shrimp chili bowl. The shrimp chili sauce was flavorful with a good balance of side dishes. The rice portion was small, but the side dishes were filling. Thank you for the meal.

Sanseidon for 1,200 yen. This shop, which seems to be the main store of the Ranyuan with several locations in the Shinbashi area, has a slightly upscale feel compared to the more casual Chinese eateries in the neighborhood. I have been here multiple times for lunch, and while the prices are a bit higher, the dishes are elegant and delicious. The portions are generous. Thank you for the feast!

Near Uomori Shrine in Shinbashi, there is a calm-looking Chinese restaurant along a small path that caught my attention. It looked spacious and clean. I tried the two-color Tianjin rice bowl lunch set, which came with soup, salad, side dish, and dessert. The "two colors" refer to the two types of sauce provided, which you can pour over the rice as you like. It was a bit challenging to pour them evenly, as the viscosity of the sauces was different. The crab meat inside the egg was actually imitation crab, but considering it was a lunch set, it was satisfying with generous portions. Thank you for the meal.

A genuine Chinese restaurant located in a back alley of Shinbashi Brick Street. Despite its upscale appearance, lunch prices start at ¥990, making it reasonable. The Seafood Jajangmyeon for ¥990 features a sweet meat miso sauce with squid and shrimp for a delightful texture. The set also includes corn soup, chawanmushi, salad, and pickles, making it a great deal. #Shinbashi #ShinbashiLunch #Ranen #RanenHantenHonten

Exiting from Karasumori-guchi, there is a Chinese restaurant located behind Karasumori Shrine. It's a bit hidden in the back alley, but it's called "Ranen Honten." The interior is stylish and when you step inside, you wouldn't think it's a Chinese restaurant. The taste of this long-established restaurant is alive even during lunch. Please come and taste it for yourself.

Located between Uson Shrine and Akarenga Street, there is a orchid garden that I have been curious about for a while, so I decided to go in. For lunch, there were mostly rice bowl dishes and few set meals. The hot pot dishes were on the expensive side. The options were limited. I ordered the pork and mixed vegetable stir-fry with glass noodles for 1200 yen. The side dishes included salad, octopus and cucumber vinegar dish, creamed Chinese cabbage, steamed egg custard with crab sticks and shiitake mushrooms, pickled radish, and egg soup with tofu. Rice refills were free. The stir-fry had a slightly strong flavor, but the ingredients were well-seasoned and not overly salty. I couldn't detect any artificial seasoning. There was a subtle hint of ginger. The pork was tender and flavorful. The thick glass noodles had a good flavor. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. The rice was so good that I asked for seconds. Overall, the food was well-rounded and not overpowering. The chef's skills are top-notch. This is not your typical local Chinese restaurant or a new wave of continental cuisine, this is authentic Chinese food. There are only 5 tables in the restaurant. It was just before 12 o'clock, with 2 customers already seated and 2 more coming in later.

The long-established restaurant "Ranen Honten" has been around for over 50 years. There are many Ranen branches in Shinbashi, but this is the main store located near Karasumori Shrine. It is a stylish Chinese restaurant. Everything I ate was delicious. I was so absorbed in eating that I forgot to take photos. Shiso dumplings, shrimp soba, asparagus and cheese spring rolls, xiaolongbao, shrimp fried rice, stir-fried assorted mushrooms, and more. They also had a variety of rare drinks. I will definitely visit again next week.

The large-sized dumplings were delicious with a gentle flavor and plenty of meat filling. I enjoyed pork intestines stir-fried with garlic, tomato and egg stir-fry, and Shaoxing wine. Chinese food is great for sharing with 3-4 people to try a variety of dishes. The congee was also delicious! Thank you for the meal, I will come back again.

I arrived at the restaurant before noon. As I wandered around wondering which restaurant to enter, I noticed a signboard that caught my eye. The exterior of the shop and the signboard looked quite nice, so I decided to go inside. The interior of the shop was surprisingly modest, which was a bit of a contrast. I chose the clay pot lunch set for 1430 yen, with the main dish being sweet and sour pork with black vinegar. The clay pot lunch came with three servings of sweet and sour pork in clay pots. It also included chawanmushi (savory egg custard), salad, soup, pickles, and a steamer with pork and chicken karaage (fried chicken), among other side dishes. However, the presentation didn't really stimulate my appetite. The sweet and sour pork was tough and hard to chew. It felt like they prioritized quantity over quality. I found it a bit expensive for what was offered. It might be a good place to casually hang out with friends and have a good time in the evening. But for this particular lunch experience, I have to give a critical review. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered a cold Chinese noodles and asked for extra noodles for free, but I noticed that the chef seemed unfamiliar with the dish as he was making it while I was giving him instructions on the flavor. After serving it, he mentioned that I should have asked for a stronger flavor. It was indeed a bit lacking in flavor. ===========

I suddenly felt like eating delicious fried rice and headed to Shinbashi. It was a delicate time after 2:00 pm. I had originally planned to visit another branch, Ranen Restaurant Uomori Shrine Store, but it was closed... What a shame. It's our fault for going at such an awkward time. So, I searched and found a few other nearby restaurants, and decided to try this one as a last resort, and it was open! Thank goodness...! The interior was surprisingly beautiful. The staff welcomed us warmly, which raised our expectations! Since my companion wanted to drink alcohol, we skipped the lunch menu this time and ordered dishes a la carte. First, the five-flavored fried rice and dumplings were moist and delicious. The dumplings were packed with filling, which was great. I couldn't stop craving for more fried rice, so I ordered another dish - Stamina Fried Rice with plenty of pickled vegetables and garlic, which was also delicious. However, the smell was quite strong, so I think it's better to avoid it if you have plans afterward, haha. The pickled vegetables were actually so tasty as a complimentary snack for alcohol that we ended up ordering more. Also, I personally liked the gentle taste of the soup that came with the fried rice. I was able to satisfy my craving for fried rice to the fullest! If my companion had a bigger appetite, I would have wanted to order one more dish, haha. In conclusion, I was very satisfied with the main branch as well. In fact, considering the cleanliness and customer service, this branch was even better. I like the feeling of this branch being like a local Chinese restaurant. Thank you for the meal! I will visit again.

Ranen Main Store. Just a 3-minute walk from Shinbashi Station. There was another shop with the same name nearby, but this is the "Main Store." I heard that the gyoza and sweet and sour pork are recommended, so I decided to visit. The meatballs were made with minced pork and had a nice texture. The gyoza was delicious with their homemade spicy oil drizzled on top. The shrimp soba, which I love, had a refreshing salt flavor. I will definitely visit again.

I happened to find a really good restaurant^_^ While walking on Shinbashi Brick Street, I turned right after passing Akahige Yakkyoku and discovered a "hidden gem Chinese restaurant" in a small alley. I entered around 1:30 in the afternoon, and the restaurant had good COVID-19 measures in place. For lunch, I tried the Two-Color Tendon Bowl, which was incredibly delicious! The two colors refer to a sweet vinegar sauce typical of Kanto region and a dashi sauce typical of Kansai region. The staff kindly explained this to me with a smile. The salad, pickles, and corn soup were also delicious♪♪ The staff was very friendly, so I added this restaurant to my list of favorites and would like to go back when I have the chance‼️

There was a Chinese restaurant with a sign on the street, and I was intrigued by the lunch set for 1300 yen. I decided to check it out, and found out they were selling a limited-time cold noodle set. It looked delicious with various toppings, so I went inside. The restaurant was small but had partitions set up. It was not crowded, and they led me to a semi-private area. I ordered the cold noodle set, and they offered all three types of sauces instead of choosing one. It was a nice service for someone trying it for the first time. After a short wait, the three sauces arrived: soy sauce, sesame, and tomato. It was a unique cold noodle dish like dipping noodles. The noodles were in a sieve, and the toppings were on a separate plate. In addition, there was crab fried rice, fried food, salad, potato salad, pickles, steamed egg custard with sauce, and soup, all of which were delicious. If I had to choose a sauce, the soy sauce was the best. The steamed egg custard was also very smooth and tasty. It's recommended to take your time and enjoy the meal. By the time I finished eating, I was full. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is my first visit to this restaurant, invited by a friend. The presence of a transparent acrylic divider in the middle of the table gives a modern feel. As a result, the dishes are served in small plates. The flavors are gentle yet well-seasoned, appealing to everyone. The dumplings were also satisfying in portion size. I would like to try the noodles next time.

I was lured by the menu I found on Akarenga Street and entered a side street. The one menu lunch appeared quickly. The fried foods were spring rolls, fried chicken, and a light crispy coating on the white fish. The tender pork belly stew and dim sum were also good. It would be even better if there was dessert.

I was a bit late to the game, but I was craving a proper set meal, so I headed to the area near Karasumori Shrine. However, my first choice was full and my second choice was almost full, so I was in a tough spot. As I was walking away, I saw a sign that said "Lunch is now available." So, I decided to try a new place (although the restaurant itself is well-known). I had the hot pot set lunch (¥1,300 excluding tax) with braised pork as the main dish. The variety of side dishes was good. The set included a steamed egg custard with shark fin, two dim sum dishes, three fried dishes, salad, pickles, rice, and soup. The only disappointment was the white rice, which had a slightly off smell, possibly from being kept in the warm pot for too long. If it wasn't for that, I would have considered coming back. What a waste! #ShinbashiLunch #ShinbashiNicho #KarasumoriShrineArea #ChineseCuisine #ChineseLunch

I heard that the dumplings here are delicious, so I visited. I only had the dumplings. One serving costs 600 yen. The price is a bit high, but the dumplings are quite filling because they are large. The skin is thin, and the filling is well-balanced with vegetables and meat. The dumplings are packed with filling, so they are great for those who like larger dumplings. Personally, I think they could have been a bit smaller to better balance with the skin. But overall, they were delicious!! I'm satisfied.
