I occasionally go to this "Meidai Fuji Soba" with my colleagues from work because it's close to the office. However, compared to the "Urayasu branch" where I usually go, the food here at the "Shinbashi branch" is not that delicious. So, this time I ordered a rice dish instead, but ended up trying the kake soba that many of my colleagues ordered.

It's been a long time since I last visited Fuji Soba. The atmosphere was very homey, like a local family-owned shop. But what stood out was how quickly they served the food - my Fuji Soba arrived in less than a minute! The red Beni Shoga and green something else added a nice touch. It's strange how the same dish I usually eat can taste even better with good atmosphere and service.

Convenient and beloved by everyone, Fuji Soba. You purchase a meal ticket at the ticket machine. I chose the curry set. The curry is a rich and creamy type. It comes with Fukujinzuke (pickled vegetables) as a side dish. A convenient restaurant for lunch or a drink on the way home.

Unexpectedly stayed overnight in Shinbashi and stopped by Fuji Soba on the way back home in the morning. As soon as you enter, there is a ticket machine. They had a morning curry rice bowl set (400 yen) on the morning menu, so I ordered it without hesitation. You could also choose cold soba when ordering. The restaurant had about 10 counter seats. It was empty in the early 5 am hours when the first trains were running. On the table, there was shichimi spice. Within a few minutes, my order was called, and I went to pick up the tray at the counter. The soba was in a large bowl with plenty of tempura crumbs, seaweed, and grated wasabi on top. It came with miso soup and Fukujinzuke. The soba had a good balance of firmness and aroma, typical of stand-and-eat soba places. The powdered wasabi was the type that dissolved well in the soup. The toppings of seaweed and tempura were sufficient. The curry had small chunks of potatoes and carrots, making it a tasty dish that you can enjoy even if you don't have much of an appetite. Although the portions were small, having both dishes made for a satisfying breakfast. Offering this for 400 yen in the morning is truly a great service for the salarymen in Shinbashi. Finishing the night with Fuji Soba was perfect. Thank you for the meal.

I mainly eat soba noodles for my health and diet, so I eat soba almost every day on weekdays. I am a regular at "Meiyo Fuji Soba Urayasu Store," but the "Shinbashi Ekimae Store" is really bad and the quality of the staff is lacking. It seems like Fuji Soba is a franchise because each store has a different atmosphere, taste, and quality of staff. The taste at the Urayasu store is really delicious. For those who were not satisfied with other Fuji Soba stores, please try eating at the Urayasu store once to see the difference. The photo shows a "Mini Katsudon Set with Soba" and "Beni Shoga Tempura."

Fuji Soba in front of Shinbashi Station is a 24-hour restaurant, which is very convenient for when you get home late and still want to have dinner. The soba noodles at Fuji Soba are decently tasty, but the overall balance of the dishes is a bit disappointing. This is especially true for the limited-time menu items, which tend to have the same issue. This time, I tried the spicy meat soba with chili oil, but the dipping sauce just didn't hit the mark. The chili oil lacked fragrance and was simply spicy, with a hint of acidity but lacking sweetness, giving it a flat taste. I always feel like trying something new, but maybe I should just stick to ordering the regular mori soba?

After drinking heavily, it's just right for me to eat a light soba udon and then head home. I always manage to stop myself just before getting too drunk. I don't remember what kind of udon I ate this time, but I appreciate the place. I hope they expand nationwide!

Located in Shinbashi SL Square, just a short walk from the station. This place is convenient for all-day use, with options like morning sets before work, speedy lunches, snacks for when you're peckish in the afternoon, and a good spot for a late-night bite after drinks. Tonight, we stopped by for a snack after our first round of drinks. The interior has table seating up front and a standing counter in the back. You order your food ticket at the back counter, where you'll receive a half-ticket in return. Wait for your number to be called as you secure a spot and help yourself to water. I tried the Tsukimi Soba for 470 yen (tax included). The broth was light, unlike the saltier broths common in Eastern Japan, and the noodles were smooth and easy to eat, even after drinking. The convenience of this place is really appealing. Thank you for the meal.

B-class Gourmet Edition - Red Pickled Ginger Tempura Soba @ Fuji Soba / Shinbashi This is a story from a little while ago, but on February 18th (Saturday) for lunch, I went to this restaurant in Shinbashi called "Fuji Soba." It was the day of my daughter's wedding. We needed to have an early lunch before the reception, so we decided to stop by this restaurant near the hotel where the wedding was taking place. First, we checked the menu. I ordered the Red Pickled Ginger Tempura Soba (tax included 540 yen). The Red Pickled Ginger Tempura Soba arrived promptly. The complimentary seaweed was a nice touch. I sprinkled plenty of shichimi pepper and got ready. Soba just has to have shichimi, right? So, first, the broth. Slurp, slurp, slurp. Mmm, delicious! The broth is of course Kanto-style. Soba broth has to be like this. Next, the noodles. Slurp, slurp, slurp. Mmm, delicious! The noodles don't have much firmness, more like what you would expect from "convenience store soba," but it's a mistake to expect firmness from this kind of restaurant. The red pickled ginger tempura. Since it's fried, it's much milder compared to raw red pickled ginger. The complimentary seaweed. I have high blood pressure, so I appreciated this. The chopped green onions. They really add a nice touch. I slurped and slurped, finishing everything except the broth in one go. Phew, I'm full. With this taste and portion size at this price, the cost performance is definitely satisfactory. I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. The end. Total number of meals eaten out (including eat-in and takeout) since January 2011 until this day, excluding company cafeterias: 2,010 meals, average price: 436 yen per meal.

After a drinking session in Shinbashi, I visited this place to fill my stomach a little bit. It was 11:30 pm and I needed to catch the last train, so I wanted to eat quickly and leave. I purchased the tempura soba (490 yen) at the ticket machine by the entrance and handed it to the counter. The restaurant had a decent number of customers, all seemed to be eating their last meal before heading home. The tempura was okay for the price, basically like a mixed tempura. I quickly finished the soba, drank the cold tea, returned the bowl at the counter, and headed to the station to catch the last train.

The area in front of the station is crowded and busy, with the staff's operations audible in the background. Today, I tried a rare dish called "Bak Kut Teh Soba," originating from Malaysia. It's a pork soup with garlic and spices, but I think I'll stick to the classic zaru soba and mini katsudon set next time. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

Mini pork cutlet rice bowl set, Mori soba, 620 yen Located behind the SL square of Shinbashi Station, along the street. Around 11:50. When I peek inside, there is no one there. Fuji Soba is unmanned. I will experience having the place all to myself for the first time. There are two ticket machines in front of the store. Of course, transportation IC cards are accepted. Mori soba has a slightly chewy texture. It's neither good nor bad, I suppose. The dipping sauce has a weak broth flavor and a strong seasoning. The soy sauce is a bit strong. Well, it's a matter of preference. The mini pork cutlet rice bowl has 2 pieces of tonkatsu. Probably half of a regular serving? The remaining 2 pieces are for the next person, I guess. The rice is a bit dry, maybe they adjusted the water content for the bowl? If they added some egg and sauce, it would be delicious, but there's not enough sauce. If they could add a bit of the soy sauce flavor from the soba broth, it would be balanced. I will rely on the added shichimi pepper in times like this. The soba water is served from a pot at the service counter. I drank it from the empty cutlet bowl. It's hot soba water with a slight aroma rather than a strong scent. Started eating alone, finished eating with no one else. But later, 80% of the seats were filled. Don't worry, there are customers! Thanks.

Fuji Soba is located along the street facing the SL Square in front of Shinbashi Station. I had the morning curry set which includes soba, mini curry, a raw egg, and spinach. The soba is slightly soft but tasty. The curry has a hint of soba soup flavor, typical of a soba restaurant's curry, and tasted delicious especially with the egg.

Platto, today's morning was spent exploring the area around Shimbashi Station. Exiting the north ticket gate of JR Shimbashi Station, turning left towards Hibiya Exit, and upon exiting the Hibiya Exit, you will find the SL Plaza to your right. Walking straight ahead with the SL on your left, you will come across the "Meidai Fuji Soba Shimbashi Ekimae Store" that I visited today. I arrived at the store front at 7:20 am on a weekday. There are two ticket machines at the entrance of the store. I checked the menu at the ticket machine on the left side of the entrance. The menu includes recommended items like cold tamago set with mini curry for 550 yen, sudachi oroshi for 550 yen, katsudon set for 790 yen, and more. There are also sets like mini ebi katsudon set, mini kakiage don set, mini katsudon set, and others. You can also find warm or cold options like harumaki tempura, tsukimi/ontama, wakame, curry, and more. The morning menu includes morning soba/udon for 360 yen and morning curry set for 420 yen. Toppings like boiled spinach, raw egg, onsen tamago, inari sushi, curry rice, mini curry, beer, and various tempura options are available as well. I decided to go for the morning soba/udon for 360 yen, specifically choosing the kitsune topping. The soba was served with kitsune, onsen tamago, wakame, and chopped green onions. The soba had a good texture and paired well with the slightly light soba broth. The overall experience was satisfying.

It's Saturday morning. A typhoon is approaching, with heavy rain expected in the late afternoon. It would be wise to stay indoors on a day like this, but I have plans to have sushi in Ginza later tonight. Since I have plenty of time, I might as well head to the city before the rain gets heavier. I thought about getting my hair styled in Shimbashi, maybe a scalp massage since I'm starting to go bald, and then a full body massage. For lunch, I'll have something in Ginza, watch a movie in Hibiya, and meet at the sushi restaurant at 8:30 pm. But first, breakfast. I went to Hakkone Soba in the New Shimbashi Building, but they didn't have meat udon. I found out it's a franchise and the menu is slightly different. So, I went to Fuji Soba and ordered a tempura udon instead. The udon seemed to be reheated, and the soy sauce flavor was strong, but I'm used to it. I added some shichimi pepper and enjoyed my meal.

I visited the "Nadai Fuji Soba Fuji Soba Shinbashi Ekimae Store" in Minato-ku, Tokyo. It is located right in front of Shinbashi Station's west exit SL Square. I stopped by to adjust my time and satisfy my hunger before drinking. I had the simple Mori Soba only, which cost 360 yen. I usually like the katsudon at Fuji Soba, but considering my plans after this, I went with soba. I slurped it all up smoothly. The cold noodles felt refreshing. The slightly spicy broth was also good. It turned out to be better than I expected. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a holiday night. The location is right in front of JR Shimbashi Station Hibiya Exit, across from the SL Square. When looking at the menu, I noticed the 500 yen special menu. It includes a small bowl of noodles (soba or udon) with a mini rice bowl. The mini rice bowl options are spicy pork bowl, charcoal-grilled chicken and egg bowl, and Japanese-style tuna mayo mentaiko bowl. There is a ticket machine on the left and right. Unfortunately, the chicken and egg bowl I wanted was sold out, so I opted for the Japanese-style tuna mayo mentaiko bowl. I entered the restaurant and headed towards the kitchen at the back. I ordered a small bowl of noodles and received a half ticket. There are some standing seats inside, as well as counter seats on both sides. It's a small shop. I prepared cold water from the water server and sat at the counter seat. The staff, speaking informally, only called out the number. A bit casual, I thought. I received my order in front of the kitchen and returned to my seat. The noodles were well-cooked and firm. The way they prepare the noodles is excellent, just like in other branches. Now, onto the main dish, the Japanese-style tuna mayo mentaiko bowl. Warm rice topped with tuna mayo and mentaiko. It's like the ones used in sushi restaurants. Well, it was surprisingly delicious with the warm rice. Among the mini bowls, this dish seems to have a reasonable cost and effort. Thank you for the meal.

The screw in front of Shinbashi Station was broken, but for some reason, I had a set meal of warm soba and katsudon!! The katsudon had a consistently delicious taste. Is it because it's from Fuji Soba that it offers such quality at this price? The great cost performance is just amazing!! Thank you for the meal!!

Located on the other side of Shimbashi Station SL Plaza. I usually come here when waiting for the first train. On this day, I had the mini tendon set. The soba in the set was cold mori soba. It was delicious as usual. Satisfactory for the price. I prefer the tempura sauce in the tendon to be a bit richer. It was crowded with a group of girls waiting for the first train and salarymen who had no choice but to eat standing up. I prefer Komoro Soba or Kameya over Fuji Soba, but I want to commend Fuji Soba for being open 24 hours. (Waiting for the first train) Waiting for the first train at Shimbashi Station. I chose the katsudon set. The soba was kakesoba. I added tempura. It was delicious as usual. Stable taste.
