Every now and then, I feel like visiting this place in Higashioka, Higashi Chitose, for a barbecue. It's a tradition. You drive south on Route 234 from Yuni, past Mikawa Station, and continue for a while. It's a corner of a farm next to a swamp. Handwritten-style signboard, red noren curtain, and a sooty building as a landmark.
Order:
- Barbecue x2
- Stir-fried vegetables x2
- Asahi Super Dry beer x1
- Non-alcoholic beer x1
- Rice x2
Total: 3800 yen
The place is very hot, and if you're unlucky, the smoke can make you tear up. But if you endure it, the joy is more than doubled. Drinks are self-service. You take them out of the fridge, open the bottle, and get a glass. There are also beer taps where you can pour yourself a drink after putting in money.

The auntie enthusiastically puts chicken on the grill. Sparks fly. She sprinkles a magical salt spice. "Be careful not to burn it," she emphasizes. She cooks the skin side well and flips it over. It looks delicious. The fat drips, and when it falls onto the grill, smoke rises with a fragrant aroma.

It arrives on a hot plate over charcoal, and it's amazing! It goes so well with rice. The chicken skin and cartilage seem to be extracting umami. While enjoying this, the breast part, including the breast, tenderloin, and wings, finishes cooking. You wrap it in a paper napkin and bite into it. The meat juice drips. It's simply delicious! The breast is tender, and the taste of the tenderloin is irresistible. Next, the thigh is ready. It's juicy and full of flavor. Eating while getting greasy all over your hands, fingers, and mouth, it's a delicious experience. When you step outside, you realize how good the air tastes. Satisfied! I hope to visit again next year. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much!
