The timing never seemed to work out, and I had been wanting to visit this tonkatsu restaurant for a while. There's a certain timing for when to go to a tonkatsu place, depending on your stomach. I used to be able to eat meat all the time, but as I've gotten older, it's not as easy anymore. This time, the timing was right and I finally made my first visit. First, I ordered a beer x2, sake (cold), and pickled daikon radish. The pickled daikon radish from Fukuoka was large and spicy, a perfect match for the beer. It was so delicious that it became addictive! The deep-fried pork loin with fat was exactly as the name suggests, with a good amount of salt that paired well with the beer. The stewed bamboo shoots from Kyushu had a nostalgic flavor that went well with the sake. For the main dish, I ordered a large pork loin (200g) with two bonus minced cutlets, rice, and miso soup. The minced cutlets were fluffy and not like traditional ones, but very well done. The pork loin was served with salt or sesame, and I chose sesame to grate myself and pour sauce over. The pork loin had a good thickness and was satisfying to eat, with a moist coating that wasn't crispy. The rice was glossy and delicious, but the portion was small so it's better to order a large serving. There are no set meals here, so you have to order rice and miso soup separately. The interior of the restaurant was clean and bright, with no grease stains. The trainee workers were diligently working, and the seriousness of the owner was evident, making it a lovely place. I enjoyed my meal! Thank you for the feast.

This month's 7th food adventure was at "Tonkatsu-ya Kata", where I had the "Tare Katsu Don" with miso soup for lunch. I arrived around 12:15, and the sky looked like it was about to rain. There was one group inside and one group waiting to enter in front of the store. This popular tonkatsu restaurant only has counter seats for 10 people, and the simple and well-organized interior creates a calm atmosphere. You can hear the satisfying sound of the knife cutting through the tonkatsu behind the counter. The menu is simple, offering 3 types of fillet (150-240g) and 4 types of loin (160-230g) as individual servings, with rice (150g, plus 50 yen for a large portion) and miso soup each costing 100 yen separately. Additionally, you can add up to 2 Menchi Katsu for an extra charge as a limited-time offer. I ordered the Tare Katsu Don with miso soup. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the miso soup arrived first, followed by the bowl placed on the counter. The loin katsu covering the rice looked great with some space left in the bowl. The finely chopped green onions added a nice touch. Starting with the piece on the right... the crispy coating was perfect and the meat was tender. It was juicy without being too fatty, and the lightly tangy soy-based sauce was delicious. I then broke the warm egg over the sauce and poured it over the remaining katsu. The combination of the slightly acidic sauce, warm egg, katsu, and rice was irresistible. I quickly finished the meal. The miso soup, made with barley miso (no additives), had a delicate sweetness to it. There is a parking space for one car behind the store, but I used a nearby coin parking lot.

I've always wanted to go to this restaurant! I arrived around 11:23 on Saturday. There were two groups of customers already there. Two more groups arrived after parking at the drugstore across the street. By the 11:30 opening time, all five groups were seated. Two more groups arrived shortly after, but one had to wait inside the restaurant, and the other group left. It's popular! I ordered the large minced pork cutlet with rice and miso soup. The owner asked if I wanted a double portion, which was very kind. The rice was freshly cooked and shiny. The miso soup was flavorful with a rich broth. But most importantly, the pork cutlet was just delicious! Both my husband and I agreed that the pork loin was tastier. The pork loin had a sweet and juicy fat, and it paired well with either salt or sauce. We'll definitely go back!

The restaurant has about 10 seats, with a clean and calm atmosphere. There is only one parking space, so it's lucky if it's available. The tonkatsu is tender and cooked just right. The pork cutlet has a nice amount of fat and goes well with salt. Both the sauce and salad dressing are homemade. The owner pays attention to detail but is also down-to-earth, making you want to come back again.

This time, I went to a tonkatsu restaurant on the 18th street for personal reasons and had my meal there. The restaurant is located on a nice street with a calm atmosphere. It had just opened and there were about 4 groups of customers already inside. The interior of the restaurant was quite stylish, so I had high expectations. I ordered a draft beer and it was perfect, not oxidized. Encouraged by this, I ordered the classic pork cutlet. Surprisingly, they didn't offer set meals. It was unusual to see two of the previous customers ordering shochu on the rocks on a Sunday afternoon. The tonkatsu arrived and to my surprise, it wasn't the usual crispy kind with breadcrumbs standing out. It was an old-fashioned style tonkatsu. The side dishes were also unique, with pickled radish for osinko, miso soup with dried radish, and rice served in a small bowl. It was quite different from other tonkatsu restaurants I've been to. In my personal experience, the osinko is usually pickled in rice bran or lightly pickled, miso soup is usually miso soup, and the rice is served in a standard portion of about 200g. They also offered a large portion without asking, which was interesting. The most disappointing part was that the frying pan wasn't polished. As a fellow in the same industry, this was disappointing to see. The service was good, with the cheerful personality of the owner creating a relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy drinks.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend and decided to have lunch there. I was told that the pork loin is more delicious than the fillet, so I chose the medium-sized pork loin. The set meal came with rice, miso soup, and I also added a pickled plum. The beautifully presented meal made me happy. The coating on the pork was crispy and the meat was juicy. I preferred to eat it with salt. The pickled plum was the most sour and delicious one I've ever had. Even with the medium-sized portion, women will be very satisfied. I will definitely come back again.

I had never been to this restaurant before because they don't have a special lunch menu and it's a bit pricey, but I decided to visit to try the taste of the number one ranked restaurant in Sapporo. There is only one parking space behind the building. They only have counter seats and it was full. My wife, who loves healthy food, said it was the best pork cutlet she had ever eaten, and my son also loved the pork cutlet. I found it delicious, but it wasn't exactly my type. The breading was thin and light. I prefer a crispy breading with a bit more texture, and I wished they had a mixed fry menu with items like shrimp fry. Ordering a single portion of the minced cutlet can be quite expensive. I prefer minced cutlets that are a bit thicker and juicy. If my wife and son want to go again, I will go with them, but personally, I might not revisit. The chef was incredibly humble and had a great smile, which I appreciated. The service was top-notch. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant alone at night and was welcomed by a friendly and bright owner. I sat at the clean counter and waited for my "fillet (medium)" to arrive after rubbing sesame seeds and adding sauce. I wanted to order the loin, but since my stomach was a bit heavy from the previous day, I decided to try the fillet. From the first bite, I was delighted by the savory flavor and tenderness of the meat. Both the salt and the sesame sauce were incredibly delicious. Additionally, the shredded cabbage side dish was quite generous, which made me even happier. The owner kindly served delicious tea as I finished. Thank you to the owner. Next time, I will definitely try the loin.

The pork cutlet (200g) was ¥1,800 and came with a free minced cutlet for ¥250. Rice and miso soup were ¥100 each, making the total ¥2,250. Everything was carefully made and delicious. The pork cutlet seemed to be fried slowly as it was soft and juicy, although the excess juice made the breading a bit soggy. The breading was crispy rather than crunchy. The minced cutlet had a light seasoning that paired well with the sauce and spicy mustard. The rice and miso soup were also delicious. The owner was very friendly, making it a place worth visiting again.

At lunchtime, I went to this restaurant. There is only one parking space behind the store, so I parked there. The interior of the store has only counter seats. There was just enough space for one group, so I was able to sit down. Customers who came later waited on chairs at the entrance. They offer both fillet and loin tonkatsu, and you can choose the gram size. Rice and miso soup are not included in the set, so you need to order them separately. I ordered the loin tonkatsu and rice. The owner seemed busy with both dine-in and takeout customers. I waited a while for my order to be ready. The tonkatsu was served with sauce, mustard, or salt for seasoning. The meat was tender and the breading was not too hard. The regular size of rice felt a bit smaller compared to other places. The cabbage side dish was free for seconds. The dressing seemed homemade, with plenty of vegetables and a thick, gooey texture. It had a unique and addictive taste. The tonkatsu was a bit luxurious and very delicious.

It takes about 8 minutes from Nishi 18-chome Station on the Sapporo City Subway (due to icy sidewalks). The menu offers pork loin in three sizes: extra large 230g for 1,900 yen, large 200g for 1,800 yen, medium 180g for 1,700 yen, and small 160g for 1,600 yen. The fillet comes in three sizes as well: large 240g for 2,100 yen, medium 190g for 1,900 yen, and small 150g for 1,700 yen. To order a set meal, you would add rice for 100 yen and miso soup for 100 yen. I ordered the medium pork loin cutlet (180g) for 1,700 yen, rice for 100 yen, and miso soup for 100 yen. The pork is described as being from Makarimura, which is famous as the hometown of Takashi Hosokawa. The meat was very tender with a good flavor, although it didn't have any particularly unique characteristics, just a generally delicious taste.

On Saturday at 12:30, I ordered a large pork fillet, with an extra mince cutlet, large rice, and miso soup. I wanted to have the pork loin, but considering the portion size, I opted for a pork cutlet sandwich to take home. The taste was perfect. I am considering revisiting. The pork fillet was light, so younger people might find it a bit lacking. But the mince cutlet was delicious, so next time I'll order two.

Monthly visit to the hospital. As usual, I had lunch during the waiting time for my medication. Due to the cold wave, I didn't feel like walking outside much, so I decided to eat nearby. The place I went to was Tonkatsu Katasang. The restaurant has a small L-shaped counter with about 10 seats. It is run by the owner and his sister. They use premium pork for their tonkatsu, with choices of fillet or loin. The loin is made from herb-fed pork, and the fillet is made from barley-fed pork from Yoichi. They don't offer set meals, but you can order rice and miso soup separately. I ordered the large loin tonkatsu (200g) for ¥1,800, rice for ¥100, and miso soup for ¥100. After a short wait, the food was served. The plate came with salt (Fleur de Sel), a mortar with white sesame (to mix with the sauce), and daikon radish pickles. On a separate plate, there was the main tonkatsu and shredded cabbage. The cabbage was dressed with their original dressing, which was made with plenty of vegetables and had a solid texture. It was delicious. The main tonkatsu was just fried, not too hot to burn your mouth. The crispy breadcrumbs and tender meat gave a burst of flavor with every bite. It was so delicious that I didn't want to swallow it too quickly. I thought the sauce went better with the loin than the salt. The rice was also good, I should have ordered a large portion. The miso soup was made with barley miso, which I don't often drink, but it had a deep flavor. I enjoyed every bite slowly and savored the flavors. They even served warm tea after the meal, which was a nice touch. Thank you for the meal! I want to come back and try the fillet and minced cutlet in this calm atmosphere!

I visited "Tonkatsu Yakata" on December 10th for the first time. I went for lunch at 1:20 PM by car. Although there is a dedicated parking space for the store, I parked at a nearby paid parking lot as I planned to visit another store as well. I entered through the white curtain and found the place to be quite spacious with 2 groups of 4 customers already seated at the L-shaped counter. I informed the owner that I was dining alone and was seated at the far right end of the counter. The menu mainly consisted of tonkatsu served as a single item, with choices of fillet, loin, and options for the amount of meat. You could also choose rice, miso soup, and drinks as optional extras. I ordered the Loin Large (200g) for 1800 yen, rice (150g) for 100 yen, and miso soup for 100 yen. The food was served after a 10-minute wait, and I was provided with both salt and sauce with sesame and mustard. The salt was a special type called Fleur de Sel, which I learned was more expensive than Himalayan rock salt. The tonkatsu was made from "Makari Herb Pork" and was delicious, especially when eaten with mustard and sauce. The rice, from the owner's family's brand "Yumetsukushi," was shiny and tasty. I also checked the alcohol menu, which included options like Hyakunen no Kodoku, Muraoka, and Maou. The owner mentioned they also had Moriizo if I was interested. I couldn't ask about the prices as I was driving, but I was intrigued to try them next time. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

I ordered the 180g loin cutlet. I got pretty full from the 300g one I had last time. I guess that's what happens when you get older. The batter is finely textured and thin. The soft frying complements the tender meat flavor very well (although the batter can get a bit soggy from the meat juices halfway through, which is a downside). Of course, the aroma of the frying oil is also very good. Personally, this is the best tonkatsu I've ever had! I recommend eating it with salt. The miso soup with plenty of bonito flavor is delicious, and the thick dressing made with olives and carrots has a healthy and amazing taste.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is stylish, like a traditional Japanese restaurant. This time, I had the special large pork cutlet. It seemed like just the cutlet itself, as rice and miso soup were an additional 200 yen. Oh man, it was so delicious! The meat was tender with a light layer of fat. Usually, if you eat about 250g of fried food, the fat can become overwhelming and you get tired of it, but not with this one. It remained delicious until the last bite, haha. Both salt and homemade sauce were good, but the sauce was light and went well with the pork cutlet, making the rice disappear quickly. I wonder if this place is just as good as the famous tonkatsu restaurants. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious, haha.

I haven't been to Sapporo in a while and suddenly felt like eating tonkatsu, so I immediately searched for "Sapporo tonkatsu"! Then I found this place that seemed nice. It had a high rating of 3.55 on Tabelog! I quickly drove there. The restaurant had a stylish and clean atmosphere. And it was crowded. This time, I ordered the special large 230g pork loin for 1700 yen! Note that this is only the price for the tonkatsu! Rice is 100 yen, miso soup is 100 yen, and they are charged separately! The tonkatsu was excellent! The balance of fat and lean meat in the pork loin was superb. Oh, it was really delicious. I highly recommend this place! It was a great experience. Yay, yay!

Ah, happiness. Visited a tonkatsu restaurant in the neighborhood that I had been curious about for a while. This place truly capped off a happy Sunday with its delicious taste and atmosphere. The rice was freshly cooked, and the miso soup had a refined dashi broth with the sweetness of dried daikon radish, which elevated it to a different level. From the sauce to the dressing, everything is homemade, but this homemade touch makes everything taste so good! It's not like the usual "well, it's homemade but store-bought sauce is still better..." feeling. The flavors are well-balanced, with the taste of the ingredients coming through, and it all comes together perfectly. Honestly, this is amazing. The tonkatsu itself, need I say more? The meat is sweet. Seriously delicious. It's so good that my vocabulary might be questioned. Delicious!!!

Next to the store of An-san, there is a tonkatsu (pork cutlet) shop that I had been curious about but hadn't visited until now. Both my husband and I ordered the hirekatsu (fillet cutlet). The fillet looked firm and tightly packed. It was not very juicy, but rather light in flavor. The breading was thin, so there was hardly any greasiness. While I appreciated the lean meat, I might have preferred a bit more richness when craving tonkatsu. Perhaps the rosu (loin) cutlet would have been a better choice? The cabbage served with the cutlet was cut into thicker slices, whereas I prefer very thin slices. Thank you for the meal!

The inside of the restaurant was clean and had a stylish atmosphere. You can get a refill of cabbage if you ask for it. Rice and miso soup need to be ordered separately. The seating is limited to only the counter, so there might be a wait depending on the time of day.

I was looking for a delicious restaurant nearby and decided on tonkatsu. I checked the Tabelog rating and had high expectations. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30. It was a small place with only counter seating, but I was able to get in quickly as there was only one customer ahead of me and I had a reservation for three people. They offered both loin and fillet tonkatsu, with the price varying based on the weight. I chose the 240g fillet for 1800 yen, and rice and miso soup were each an additional 100 yen, making it a reasonable price of 2000 yen in total. You could have unlimited refills of cabbage. The pork used for both the loin and fillet was from different regions within Hokkaido, showing their commitment to quality. While the tonkatsu was not cooked using the trendy low-temperature method, the meat was tender and the breading was light, which I personally enjoyed. There was only one type of sauce available, but they also provided salt for those who preferred it. I tried the salt at first, but ended up sticking with the sauce as I prefer it for a heartier meal. Overall, I was satisfied with both the portion size and the taste. It was a great lunch option within walking distance.
