I heard a rumor about a chicken restaurant in Shinbashi called Kobayashi Yoken, where you can grill your own local chicken over charcoal. I decided to visit the place, which was about a 5-minute walk from Shinbashi Station. Shinbashi is full of small shops, so it was a bit hard to find. As soon as I entered, I got excited seeing the flames rising up for grilling the chicken! Since it was my first time, I asked for recommendations on what to order. The staff suggested starting with a mixed platter to see how it goes, so I ordered the recommended "mixed platter" along with some chicken wings and kimchi. The much-awaited local chicken mixed platter arrived promptly. Each type of chicken was placed on the grill to cook slowly over charcoal. Unlike yakiniku, you can't eat it rare, so we passed the time chatting until the chicken was cooked. It may not be ideal for a first date, but it's definitely a great experience to enjoy with close friends, with the flames adding to the excitement! The taste was excellent, with the carefully selected local chicken offering juicy and flavorful meat with a unique texture. It was a wonderful first experience of grilling your own chicken! Maybe if you sit at the counter, they will grill it for you! Average cost per person: around 5000 yen. Seating available: tables, counter. Thank you for the meal!

The staff kindly taught me how to make yakiniku at home, so I was able to do it myself. From the 27th to the 29th, there was a special campaign with discounted prices on some menu items, which was great. I had a combination platter of 4 types of meat, chicken kalbi, and cartilage. The combination platter and kalbi were best with yuzu pepper, while the cartilage was perfect with wasabi. It was really hot during the yakiniku cooking, but the drink afterwards tasted even better. I definitely want to go back again.

The staff at the restaurant were cheerful and kind, and they taught me how to cook the zaru-yaki. When I was struggling to cook it, they offered to cook it for me, and did it efficiently. There are counter seats and table seats, and at the counter, the staff cook in front of you and chat with you, which left a good impression. However, the inside of the restaurant is very hot...and cooking the zaru-yaki in front of you makes it even hotter...I felt like I was going to get heatstroke, so I quickly ate and left. It might be better to visit in winter.

Zaru yakitori!? I went to this restaurant to try Zaru yakitori, a popular dish in Miyazaki Prefecture where you grill chicken on a mesh grill. The restaurant seems to have its own chicken farm, so the chicken is fresh and they offer a variety of cuts from the whole chicken. It's quite fun to grill the chicken yourself, almost like entertainment! This could become a new specialty dish in Miyazaki Prefecture! The food is delicious without any complaints, so it's a great place to enjoy a BBQ-like experience.

We decided to visit another restaurant and walked to this place. The famous zaru-yaki was not available due to timing constraints, but since we were already quite full and had been drinking, it was not a problem. We ordered chicken tataki, dashimaki tamago, and chicken nanban. Every dish was delicious and perfect for accompanying drinks! Before we knew it, the night had passed, so we left. Next time, I want to go a bit earlier and try the zaru-yaki. Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant featured on the TV show "Sakagami & Sashihara's Unbreakable Shop" opened in August 2022 through a business partnership with a company that operates Gindaco. Kobayashi Poultry is a chicken farm in Miyazaki Prefecture, and they deliver fresh chicken to Shinbashi every day. Their specialty is called "zaru-yaki," where they grill chicken while shaking it in a sieve. They offer various cuts of chicken, as well as menus where you can grill vegetables and mushrooms together with the chicken. The taste was very delicious, as expected from daily deliveries from Miyazaki. I visited on a weekday night, a year after the TV broadcast, and the restaurant was full. While some restaurants may experience temporary crowds due to TV exposure, the popularity of this restaurant after a year seems genuine.

A popular izakaya that my friend from Kyushu recommended, which specializes in grilled dishes. The place was fully booked even on a weekday, so we had to make a late reservation and order lightly since it was our second stop of the night. The specialty here is the grilled dish where you can cook it yourself on the counter or at your table. The staff will guide you on how to cook it, which is quite fun. The dish is made by first laying chicken skin on the grill, followed by the meat. The skin sizzles as the fat drips, creating a fiery display. Once cooked, the meat is pressed against the charcoal to absorb the smoky flavor. The freshly grilled dish is delicious and has a unique texture. We also enjoyed the chicken meatball appetizer and my favorite pickled celery. Despite being full, we couldn't resist ordering the chicken soup, which was also tasty. The atmosphere is lively and perfect for a fun night out with friends, but not ideal for a quiet date. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend it for a lively outing with friends or a fun date night.

I visited this shop after seeing it on TV and it's the first Tokyo branch of a Kyushu restaurant. The shop's unique style is grilling chicken on a sieve. While chicken dishes are the main focus, they also offer vegetable side dishes, so you don't get tired of just eating chicken. I usually get tired of yakiniku because it's heavy, but I enjoyed eating chicken yakiniku because it felt refreshing. It wasn't like "OMG, this is amazing!!" but everything was balanced and consistently delicious.

In February 2023, they grill fresh chicken right in front of you! They raise the flames and smoke it, creating a delicious aroma. The chicken sashimi is also very tasty. Each counter and table has a large faucet-like ventilation fan, allowing you to eat freshly grilled food. This is a restaurant I definitely want to visit again!

I'm glad we made a reservation for two this time. Some people without reservations were being told to come back in about two hours. The first dish was delicious! The chicken sashimi exceeded my expectations in taste. I was so satisfied being able to order the dish I couldn't have last time because we came late at night. They even remembered that we had visited in November last time, which made me really happy. They handled various seating arrangements properly and we left feeling good. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

Located in Shinbashi, this restaurant serves fresh chicken that you can grill directly on the table. It opened in August 2022 and is known for its signature grilling style using a shichirin grill. The staff will help you grill the chicken to perfection. I recommend trying the assorted platter to taste a variety of flavors. The side dishes are also delicious, so you can't go wrong with any choice here. Great place for dinner and drinks in Shinbashi! #ZaruyakiShinbashi #ShinbashiDining #TokyoGourmet #YurakuchoDining #HamamatsuchoGourmet #ShiodomeGourmet

"Azuma Zaru Yaki Fukuoka debut for the first time‼️ Huh⁇ I've never heard of it in Fukuoka... I've heard of it in Miyazaki though... Decided to go check it out and secured a seat with a same-day reservation. Entered at 7:30 PM on a Monday and it was full of customers. The atmosphere was lively and nice. Immediately ordered the chicken tataki and zaru yaki (4 kinds assorted). They show you an example at first, then you can grill it yourself. Smoke comes out, but the ventilation system works well. There was no smell transfer to clothes when leaving. The taste is similar to the local chicken grill in Miyazaki, but there seems to be something subtly different. There were many shochu brands that I didn't know, some of which I haven't seen even in Miyazaki city. The wild boar was delicious‼️ Personally, I still prefer "Gunkei" and other Miyazaki options. Thank you for the meal ==========="

"Azuma Zaru Yaki makes its debut in Fukuoka for the first time‼️ Surprising, right⁇ I haven't heard of it in Fukuoka... I have in Miyazaki though... Decided to give it a try and managed to secure a seat with a last-minute reservation. Arrived at 7:30 PM on a Monday and the restaurant was fully packed with customers. The atmosphere was lively and pleasant. Ordered the chicken tataki and zaru yaki (assorted with 4 kinds). They demonstrate how to grill it first, then you can grill it yourself. Smoke is produced, but the ventilation system works well. There was no lingering smell on clothes upon leaving. The taste is reminiscent of the local chicken grills in Miyazaki, but there's a subtle difference. The appetizer was tsukune. The crispy texture was irresistible. I wanted to order it again. The chicken sashimi is recommended. You can enjoy two different types. The main dish, zaru-yaki, is recommended as a set. If you ask the staff, they will grill it for you. It was delicious!

"Opened in August this year, the original Zaru-yaki Kobayashi Yōkei is a popular spot that was featured on TV just before its opening. Now, it's hard to get a table without a reservation. When you arrive at your reserved counter seat, there is a space for a shichirin grill for every two seats. The appetizer is tsukune (with egg yolk), a dish with a chewy texture from cartilage. The main attraction is the Zaru-yaki platter with six different types of chicken parts. If it's your first time, the staff will cook it for you, grilling various parts like parent chicken, chicken fillet, heart, and cartilage. They use chicken fat, resulting in a strong flame that adds to the performance. The aroma of charcoal grilling gives the chicken a distinct Miyazaki chicken flavor. After trying all six types, we also ordered more bonjiri. Other dishes like chicken skin vinegar and chicken soup were also delicious. It's a place where you can enjoy with both your eyes and taste buds."

It was even better than I imagined! I was recommended to visit a grilled chicken restaurant in Shinbashi, and it seems to be a branch from Fukuoka. They grill Miyazaki local chicken by parts on a grill for you to enjoy. I might like this more than yakitori! It's a restaurant that exceeds its current rating. It would be even better if they added more snacks like pickles or ginger.

I watched TV last night and decided to go to the restaurant right away. It was just before 6 o'clock, so I managed to get a table before the reserved person arrived. Thank you to the staff for adjusting for me. I ordered the grilled chicken and a platter of four different kinds of grilled dishes. The grilled chicken had a crispy skin and was delicious. The grilled dishes were explained to me as they were being cooked, which was helpful. It was entertaining and enjoyable overall.

I saw this place on TV and made a reservation before visiting. I ordered the Chicken Tataki and the Zaru Yaki with 6 varieties. At first, the staff cooked it for us. The chicken was so delicious and unlike anything I've had before, very juicy. It was great to be able to try different types of grilling, each with its own texture and flavor. I recommend trying all 6 varieties! However, after the initial cooking, we had to grill the rest ourselves, and it became a bit of a hassle not knowing the perfect timing for each. It would be nice if they could cook it just right for us. Maybe they could lightly grill it and then warm it up before serving, that would be perfect. Despite the extra effort, the meat was delicious and I left satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the restaurant around 6:00 PM. There were about 4 tables and 10 seats at the counter, so it wasn't very spacious. I was asked if I had a reservation before being seated. They use Miyazaki prefecture's local chicken, and all the chicken dishes were delicious. The Chicken Nanban, which had good reviews, was recommended. It was light and easy to eat. They also carefully taught me how to grill the chicken over charcoal. They seemed willing to grill everything for me if I asked, but I felt bad making such a request in the midst of their busy work. The staff were efficient and friendly.

I became a fan of a restaurant in Nishijin, Fukuoka, and heard that a new branch opened in Shinbashi, so I decided to visit. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but they didn't have the same condiments as in Fukuoka, which was a bit disappointing. Also, when the staff grilled the meat for me, I felt like they cooked it too much, and it was a bit dry compared to when I had it grilled in Nishijin. I don't know if it's just me, or if it's because of how they cooked it, but the meat also seemed a bit smaller. Knowing the Fukuoka branch and then going to this one, I felt like it didn't quite meet my expectations.
