I visited "Ryukyu-Tei" on a Saturday night in September 2016. Located in a building basement in Kabukicho, the restaurant is not very spacious with mostly tatami seating and a small counter. I enjoyed a Seikuwasa Sour and Orion beer while eating Okinawan dishes. The appetizer for the day was kimchi. The Carrot Shirishiri for ¥600 was a dish of carrots and eggs stir-fried with a delicious dashi flavor. The texture and flavor of the carrots were enjoyable. The Somin Champuru for ¥800 was a great Okinawan dish to try at this restaurant. The balance of spam and somen noodles was just right. It's a great place to enjoy Okinawan cuisine in Kabukicho until the early hours of the morning, with a chaotic yet enjoyable atmosphere.

I wonder if it's open 24 hours? I usually go there after work around 11pm to have some drinks. It has a very cozy atmosphere, makes me feel like I'm at home and I can stay there for hours. Their go-to dishes like Soki soba, Rafute, and sea grapes never get old! Especially the Rafute, the meat is so thick and tender, it just melts in your mouth. Eating it with mustard is really delicious! Their Goya Champuru and other Okinawan dishes are also amazing. If you're looking to have Okinawan cuisine in Kabukicho, this place is a must-visit. The only downside is that the restaurant is a bit small, so you might not be able to get in if you're in a large group.

I was introduced to this restaurant by an acquaintance who is a regular customer and wanted to go back because they hadn't been there recently. The restaurant is located on the underground floor of a corner building past the batting center and Mini Stop, heading towards Shokuan Street from Yasukuni Street. The interior is quite small, with about 5 counter seats and seating for about 12 people in the tatami room. It has a very hidden gem vibe. The menu is handwritten and there are recommended dishes posted on the wall. There are a lot of drink options on the menu, with prices being reasonable for both food and drinks. I ordered a glass of Awamori on the rocks, starting with Namiha. For snacks, I had the classic Goya Champuru and sea grapes. The Okinawan dishes made by the guy who you can tell is definitely from Okinawa are truly authentic and delicious. I ended up drinking a bit too much. The cozy atmosphere and attentive staff make this place really nice. It's a place that can really grow on you! However, because the interior is quite small, I recommend calling ahead to check for availability or going with a small group.

Right now, it's "Ryukyu-Tei". The interior is small and cozy, not exactly spacious even with 20 people it would feel crowded. But that's what makes it so relaxing^^ Whenever I go to Shinjuku, I can't help but stop by here. The food is delicious as expected, but the atmosphere is also amazing^^

Located in the depths of Kabukicho, near the East exit, this 24-hour Okinawan restaurant is hidden away in an area that cuts through the hotel district and is close to Joban Street. You enter the restaurant by going underground from the corner of a building, giving it a cozy, hideaway vibe. Lunch options are mainly around 900 yen, with dishes like Soki Soba (with rice, side dishes, and pickles) priced at 900 yen. I personally love the broth here. I added a bottle of Orion beer for 600 yen to my weekend lunch, but found it a bit tough to drink, so I ended up skipping the rice. Even without it, the noodle and rice set offers a pretty substantial meal. The staff, who seem like they've come straight from Okinawa, work together diligently and have a nice vibe about them.
