【Restaurant Name】Tsukumoudon 【Order】Cold Bukkake Udon 【Review】Tsukumoudon's cold bukkake udon is a perfect match of chewy udon noodles and refreshing broth, which helps beat the summer heat. The highlight is the generous serving of free dried bonito flakes. Topping the udon with plenty of bonito flakes enhances the flavor and satisfaction. The price is surprisingly reasonable, and the value for money is impressive. 【Atmosphere】On the day I visited, it was a very hot night, but Tsukumoudon was bustling with many customers. I enjoyed a delicious meal and forgot about the heat with the perfect cold bukkake udon for a summer night. 【Staff】The staff at Tsukumoudon were full of hospitality, with warm smiles and kind service. They explained the characteristics of the dishes and recommended ways to eat them in a polite manner, showing their care for customers. The welcoming atmosphere and the staff's hospitality were charming. 【Location・Access】Tsukumoudon is conveniently located near Kyoto Station. It is a place where you can enjoy delicious udon at a reasonable price while being close to tourist spots. When visiting Kyoto, be sure to stop by and enjoy the delicious cold bukkake udon.

The restaurant is located right next to the JR and subway ticket gates. The shop is not very spacious, but it is popular among office workers and the turnover is fast. The broth is delicious! I had the chicken and egg udon, and the broth was so tasty that I drank it all up. They also offer unlimited dried fish toppings, so it's recommended for those who are lacking in calcium!

There is an udon restaurant inside Kyoto Station. It was open from the morning and crowded with tourists and office workers. The udon had a light Kansai-style flavor with soft noodles, and it was delicious. The prices were reasonable for a station restaurant.

Located between the subway Karasuma Line and JR transfer ticket gates at Kyoto Station, this restaurant has a standing-eating atmosphere that caught my attention. The interior has stool-type chairs and tables with good seating capacity. The most popular dish is the "chicken egg udon". There are also options like basic kakebukake curry udon with plenty of Ninety-Nine Chicken, and you can add toppings like chicken tempura. There are also plenty of set menus to choose from. I decided to try the cold kakebukake udon with chikuwa tempura this time, saving the chicken egg udon for next time as it seemed heavy. Surprisingly, the Sanuki-style Gon-ta noodles were delicious with a firm texture and a strong wheat aroma. The tempura was freshly fried due to the quick turnover. Many people were enjoying the kettle-cooked udon. I will have to try the kake and chicken egg udon next time to give a full evaluation. This is a casual and delicious restaurant where you can easily stop by. It is said that standing-eating spots on the Shinkansen platform are delicious, and I think this place in Kyoto is the best. Thank you for the meal.

Located right in front of the closest underground ticket gate to the Kyoto Municipal Subway at JR Kyoto Station. No parking available. Don't be mistaken, this is not your typical udon shop inside a station. The udon here is truly delicious. The broth is made with rich anchovy dashi, and the noodles are similar to Sanuki udon with a strong texture. They are open from early morning until late at night, making it very convenient. I visited on a not-so-crowded weekday night. First, I purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine, received my udon, and sat at the counter. I ordered the Chicken Egg Curry Udon (cold) with a side of small rice for 980 yen tax included. It is the most popular dish with three large chicken tempura pieces on top of the curry udon with plenty of egg. As someone who is sensitive to hot food, I chose the cold option. This way, I could enjoy it without blowing on it. The noodles were tasty, but the broth was the real highlight. After finishing the noodles, I dove the remaining curry broth with the rice. Every last drop of the broth was delicious. Oh, it was so good! They provide paper aprons as a service. The air conditioning seemed to be malfunctioning as it was quite hot and I couldn't stop sweating. This was the only downside.

I visited Tsukumoudon Shirayu for the first time, located near the JR underground ticket gate in Kyoto Station. I purchased a meal ticket from the ticket machine at the front of the store. I chose the set menu of "Chicken Rice and Cold Bukkake Udon" which was a great deal in the morning. The chicken rice was slightly sweet, and although I prefer it a bit saltier, it was still delicious. The cold udon had a firm and square-cut texture, with a smooth surface that provided a great mouthfeel and chewiness. Toppings included tempura bits and dried fish flakes. It was a satisfying and delicious meal. I look forward to trying the Chicken Egg Curry Udon next time.

On Saturday, September 2nd at 6:30 PM, surprisingly it was not crowded. No lines at the ticket machine, no wait for food. However, customers kept coming in one after the other. It's all about timing, I guess. The wakame udon for 420 yen was different from the picture. I'll try something else next time. The toppings of iriko (dried sardines) and tenkasu (tempura scraps) are unlimited, but they are only available at the food pick-up area along with shichimi (seven-spice blend), so be careful! If you're in Kyoto Station and looking for a quick meal, this is the place to go!! I will definitely come back!

I used it for breakfast. You can enjoy delicious udon with a strong flavor of dried bonito soup stock. The chicken rice set is also included, and the shocking cost performance is in the 500 yen range. It is located outside the ticket gate, but its easy access makes it convenient to use. You can eat quickly, so it's perfect for the morning when you're in a hurry!

First visit. Non-smoking store, smoking area is outside the ticket gate of the station store so you can easily go there. The menu is different in the morning and at noon. Udon comes right after ordering. You can add various toppings for free. There are a decent number of seats. If I have the chance, I will visit again.

I have often visited this place and always been impressed by the taste, but on this day, I'm not sure if the air conditioning was broken or if the staff just didn't care, but in the midst of the intense August heat, the cooling in the customer seating area was noticeably poor. It was much hotter than the area near the ticket machines on the platform. The salarymen next to me were complaining about how hot it was in the restaurant, and I agreed. My handkerchief and shirt were soaked with sweat.

Actually, there are few places around Kyoto Station that are open early in the morning besides cafes, haha. And the good places are probably around Shijo-Karasuma, Kawaramachi, Gion, Marutamachi, Demachiyanagi, right? This time, my accommodation is like a half-capsule, haha. Capsules don't really help you relax. They're fine if you're young, but as you get older, you really need to soak in a bath at night to relieve fatigue, haha. And there's not even a TV or video, so I end up having extra time. TVs are tools that waste time, huh, haha. The breakfast set meal (cold) for 550 yen is a good deal, haha. It's cold noodles with chicken rice, a great menu. The ticket machine is a relatively new type, haha. Once you get your ticket, go to the "pick-up window" in the back! I subtly fold the half-ticket a few times to make it easier to tear. I sit at the relatively empty counter. Oh no! I wish I had a spoon. It's difficult to eat rice with chopsticks, especially chicken rice! I'm frugal, so I put a lot of self-serve tempura flakes in! And I added some dried fish too, haha. With the Seishun 18 ticket, you can travel for 5 days with accommodations and transportation costs kept as low as possible, perfect for those who love traveling and eating good food! The udon had a firm texture and was delicious. And the broth in Kansai udon is also tasty! Of course, I drank it all up for heatstroke prevention, haha. Well, here we go, starting the splendid 4th day of the Seishun 18 ticket summer 2023 journey, haha. Oh no, the train to Maibara is local, haha. The journey ahead is already looking challenging, haha. And that's it, thank you. Bon appétit. After finishing eating, return the tray to the designated area (throw the paper in the trash).

I revisited Tsukumo Udon (^_^) It's open from early in the morning, so it's very convenient for those in-between times. This time, I chose the most popular dish, the Toriten Chicken Egg Curry Udon (980 yen including tax). When you order a curry dish, it comes with a serving of white rice at the end. I bought the ticket from the vending machine and lined up at the counter for my order. The udon had plenty of chicken eggs and the flavor of the Toriten was good. I wish the curry had a bit more richness and spiciness to it. I added plenty of tempura flakes and dried fish flakes as toppings. The udon here is firm and flavorful, very delicious. It's great that you can eat it piping hot until the end. Lastly, I added the rice to the remaining soup to eat it like a soup curry, but it was a bit on the light side. Other than that, it was very delicious. I'll try a different menu next time (^_^)

I entered the restaurant for a late lunch after 2 PM. There was no line and seats were available here and there. I ordered chicken egg curry udon and tori chiku tempura. The curry, with a flavorful broth, was milder than I had imagined, with a gentle taste enhanced by the egg. It reminded me of the gentle taste of "Okaru" curry udon. I realized that even curry udon can taste so different with Kansai-style broth. Thank you for the meal!

Good morning everyone! I'm sure you all saw the news about the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen this morning, well, I was actually on it! I took the 7:39 am train and everything was going smoothly until we hit a heavy rainstorm in Shizuoka, causing us to arrive in Kyoto at 3:10 pm. I was so hungry that I felt like my soul was about to leave my body, and I couldn't enjoy my drinks without food. I quickly found a place in the station called "Tsukumo Udon" and was drawn to their unique menu of curry with raw egg, so I added shrimp tempura on top, making it like the number one udon at "Kyoto Udon Okakita". I had high expectations but the udon turned out to be chewy and firm, not quite what I was hoping for. The broth, however, was delicious, so I finished it all and even drank the broth from my companion's beef udon. For udon lovers, this place might be irresistible, but personally, I prefer the udon at Kyoto Udon Okakita.

I visited this restaurant for lunch during my trip to Kyoto. It was quite a walk from Kyoto Station and a bit hard to find. The interior was small with standing and sitting areas, and the turnover was fast. I ordered curry udon, which was quite spicy and made me sweat, but the taste was addictively delicious. Pouring the curry over rice at the end was also very tasty. The noodles were soft for curry udon, while for cold udon, they were firm and chewy. The kake udon was also delicious with a light Kansai-style broth.

There is a delicious hand-made udon shop inside Kyoto Station that uses iriko (dried sardines) dashi. It is located near the exit from the Kyoto subway heading towards JR, with a noticeable yellow sign. I ordered the "torichiku tempura bukkake udon" (620 yen) for dinner after a business trip. The udon is made with Hokkaido's Kitasakari wheat and hand-made in the shop. The iriko dashi is made using plenty of iriko from Kyushu's Kujukushima. I purchased a ticket at the entrance, carried a tray to the counter, received the udon, and added freshly fried tori tempura, chikuwa tempura, fragrant green onions, and the iriko dashi. The udon had a good thickness and chewiness. The chilled bukkake soup with iriko dashi was flavorful. It was very delicious. I'm also interested in trying their curry udon.

Located in the underground area of Kyoto Station, "Tsukumo Udon Shio-Kojim Honten" is a popular udon restaurant that always has long lines. Their menu includes popular dishes like chicken tempura and curry udon, as well as value sets. I tried the Chicken Tempura with Egg Curry Udon, which was a delicious combination of tempura, egg, and curry. The udon comes with a side of small rice, making it a satisfying meal. The large tempura pieces were a great deal, and the combination of chewy udon, flavorful broth, and spicy curry was excellent. Even during lunchtime, this affordable and tasty udon restaurant is always bustling with customers.

I felt like having udon from the morning while on a business trip. I returned to Kyoto Station around 1 pm and headed straight to "Tsukumo Udon" without hesitation. When I peeked inside the restaurant, I saw three empty seats and no line at the pickup counter. I purchased the Spicy Cold Udon with dipping sauce for 450 yen from the ticket machine and moved to the pickup counter. I received my order promptly, added tempura flakes to the dipping sauce bowl, and then moved to my seat. After mixing the egg into the dipping sauce, I dipped the udon and took a bite... Delicious. I was very satisfied as I had been craving udon since the morning. I finished it without putting down my chopsticks even once. Thank you for the meal.

The generous amount of filling is satisfying. It would be even better if there was ginger available, but unfortunately there wasn't. The udon noodles have a firm texture and are delicious. Despite the hot weather, I was hesitant at first, but the taste was good. The firm texture of the udon noodles fills you up, so you feel really satisfied.

It's been a while since I visited. It's a convenient shop when traveling from Kyoto in the morning. I arrived before 8 o'clock and there were quite a few customers, about half full. I ordered the kettle-boiled udon for 350 yen. The udon is chewy and delicious. I added the inari and tempura bits next to the serving area into the broth, and cracked a raw egg into it. The slightly rich broth goes well with this chewy udon. It's delicious and cheap. I will visit again.

This is Kyoto. There is a restaurant near the connecting passage between the Central Exit and Hachijo Exit of Kyoto Station. I felt hungry in the morning and wanted to eat udon, so I went there. There are two automatic ticket machines at the entrance of the restaurant. Since one machine was being used by a previous customer, I quickly purchased a meal ticket from the other machine. I bought the Morning Set Chicken Rice (hot) for 550 yen including tax. Inside the restaurant, there was a line of 3-4 people at the udon ordering counter. I waited in line for 2-3 minutes. A small tray with the chicken rice bowl and hot udon bowl was served. I added some grated kelp and tempura flakes by myself, then moved to an available seat. I started eating the udon, which had a firm and chewy texture. I had imagined a softer udon from Kyushu since they use kelp from the Ninety-Nine Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture, but it was quite firm! However, the chicken rice had a sweet flavor, reminiscent of Kyushu seasoning. The burdock was also cut into large pieces and had a strong and delicious aroma. The kelp broth for the udon was also delicious. If I ever feel like eating udon in this area again, I would like to visit this place.
