On May 4, 2015 (Monday) (Holiday), dinner with my partner. Golden Week special "Super Local Store." We drank beer on the bridge at Nanai in the evening, called at 6 pm and said we wanted to come in 30 minutes. There were three options for eel rice: 2100 yen, 2700 yen, and 3100 yen, and we chose the middle one. They said they would steam it for us. This store had piqued my curiosity for a while as I passed by, wondering what kind of place it was. It had a mysterious, closed-off vibe. I had actually tried to visit the day before in the evening, but they weren't ready and asked me to come back the next day. They had told me to call before coming. This place was also in Inokashira 4-chome, along Inokashira Park Street. When we arrived 30 minutes later, we were seated in a small raised area. They apologized for the limited space, explaining that they mainly focused on delivery orders. They quickly prepared the eel rice for us, and even though we didn't order alcohol, they served us pickles and simmered herring as a complimentary appetizer. Looking at the menu, the eel rice was categorized as "Hana" for 2100 yen, "Ue" for 2700 yen, and "Tokujou" for 3100 yen. When the eel rice arrived, it had a dark color and a strong, slightly spicy sauce. The eel itself was slightly thin and a bit too soft, but on the way back, my partner summed it up perfectly: "It was spicy, but I think that's what makes it good." Ob-la-di, ob-la-da. Life goes on.
