Tomopu
When it comes to Kisoji, it's all about shabu-shabu. I had known about this place near Shinbashi Station, Ginza Exit for a while, but never had the chance to visit. I had the impression that it was a somewhat old-fashioned place where middle-aged men would have business dinners, but my impression completely changed when I finally went there! The restaurant is spacious and relaxing, and the service is great. This time, I didn't go for the meat menu, but the set meal was quite good value! The sashimi set meal (1,650 yen) had a generous assortment of sashimi, tempura, seasonal dish, chawanmushi, rice, miso soup, and pickles. It was so satisfying! The sashimi included tuna, octopus, squid, seared scallop, and sea bream, all delicious. The tempura had shrimp, shishito pepper, pumpkin, and lotus root. Even though they were small, having shrimp in it was a nice touch. The chawanmushi was also great with a hint of yuzu fragrance. The cold simmered dish was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Everything was tasty and satisfying! Finally, we had ice cream (vanilla, matcha, white peach). They also offer sukiyaki set meals starting from 1,500 yen, and of course shabu-shabu and sukiyaki courses are available. They were also having a Hokkaido ingredient fair during this season. The entrance might be a bit hard to find. It's in the basement of the Tottori and Okayama Antenna Shop building near the Ginza exit of Shinbashi Station.
