The morning menu until 11am has the best cost performance. The pork cutlet set meal is now 550 yen, so the discount coupon that couldn't be used for individual items can now be used, making it actually 505 yen‼️^ ^ It's still delicious, so I think it's amazing corporate effort.

I went to Katsuya Shinjuku Minami-guchi store. The popular tonkotsu ramen-style? Katsu-don. The tonkotsu chicken katsu-don looked just like tonkotsu ramen if you couldn't see the chicken katsu! It had chashu, seaweed, menma, bean sprouts, and pickled ginger. You can also have the rice with just the tonkotsu sauce and ingredients. It's like a rice version of soup-less ramen with chicken katsu. I couldn't tell which one was the main dish. This was a great discovery. Thank you for the meal. This is amazing! You could also make a miso ramen version, right?

I had to work overtime, so I had to wait for the train. I needed to eat something before getting on the bus to avoid getting motion sickness. Since I didn't have much time, I quickly grabbed dinner at Katsuya. I ordered the tonkotsu chicken cutlet bowl from their special menu. The portion looked big in the picture, but the bowl was actually small! It looked much smaller than I expected! Although it filled me up to a certain extent, there was a gap between my expectations and reality, which made me go, "Huh?" The chashu slices were thin and seemed like they were cut from scraps. The taste was typical of Katsuya, as expected. The standout was the tonkotsu sauce on the cutlet, which surprisingly had a strong tonkotsu smell! I loved it! I've been missing the strong tonkotsu smell in recent tonkotsu ramen, which has been toned down for the Japanese palate. It was a treat to finally smell that familiar tonkotsu aroma again.

It's cheap and delicious. Today, I tried the katsu curry. The katsu, similar to katsudon, sits on top of the curry. It goes well with the curry sauce and tasted delicious. The foreign staff who took our order were attentive, such as refilling our tea.

- Special pork cutlet rice bowl for ¥792 - Small miso soup for ¥165 It's been a while since I last visited Katsuya. Sitting at the counter, watching the salarymen in Shinjuku enjoying their pork cutlet and rice bowls with such focus. The special pork cutlet rice bowl, where you mix the egg with the cutlet and rice, is truly a delight. The miso soup is also delicious with plenty of ingredients. As expected, the pork cutlet rice bowl never fails to satisfy. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around noon on a regular day. As expected in Shinjuku, there was a wait of over 10 people. Surprisingly, the turnover was fast, and I was seated 15 minutes later. I ordered the pork cutlet bowl (with plum) and miso soup. It was served just 5 minutes later. The pork cutlet bowl had a nice sweet and savory soy sauce flavor, making it easy to eat. The highlight here is the miso soup. It was full of ingredients, unlike the miso soup at fast food restaurants, and the sweetness of the vegetables stood out and made it delicious. Lately, there have been a lot of foreign travelers, so I recommend trying the miso soup along with the pork cutlet bowl.

I ordered a mixed bowl of chicken meatballs and chicken cutlet for ¥759. I came in with the intention of eating a cutlet bowl, but the good smell of tomato sauce in the restaurant caught my attention, so I opted for this dish with large meatballs in delicious tomato sauce and tasty chicken cutlet. However, it was a bit difficult to eat in a bowl, so I think the set meal option might be better. It may seem a bit forced to relate it to the World Baseball Classic, but they put effort into the product planning. ◎

I regularly check the website of Katsuya because I am waiting for the exciting new menu items to be introduced. I visited the restaurant as a new item that I wanted to try was available. This time, I went to Katsuya Shinjuku Minami Exit Store. The restaurant is always crowded, but miraculously, there was one seat available and I was able to sit down without waiting. I already knew what I wanted to order, so I quickly told the waiter my order: - Beef Sukiyaki and Chicken Cutlet Mixed Set Meal for 968 yen The food arrived in about 6 minutes. The set meal included the main dish, miso soup, and rice. - Main Dish: The beef sukiyaki was served in a wooden pot holder. In the center of the pot, there was a half-cooked egg, beef on the left, chicken cutlet on the other side, and shirataki noodles on the right. This combination was unique and not commonly seen. I started with the chicken cutlet. The sauce that it was marinated in was sweeter compared to regular sukiyaki, more like the sauce used in oyakodon. I enjoyed it with rice. The combination with shirataki noodles was okay. The beef was already cooked in a slightly spicy sauce. The portion was 20% larger than the previous time, which was satisfying. The egg yolk broke when I tried to lift it up, but it added a delicious taste to the dish. - Miso Soup: It was filled with ingredients and was perfect for the cold weather. The ginger in it made my body warm. - Rice: I topped it with my favorite pickled daikon radish and ate it with the beef, which was incredibly delicious. The pot had a lot of food, so I wanted to have a second serving. I chose the set meal this time, but if I had chosen the mixed rice bowl, my experience might have been different. If we look at it as a B-class gourmet meal, this could be considered traditional. Finally, I finished my meal with barley tea, paid using my IC card, and received the usual discount coupon. Ah, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I ate the Miso Tamakatsu Donburi for 650 yen and a small serving of pork miso soup for 140 yen at "Katsuya" in Shinjuku. I visited the Shinjuku Minami-guchi store near the Yamada Denki on Koshu Kaido. The Katsudon has bite-sized cuts of fillet topped with a sweet sauce based on Hatcho miso. Under the fillet, there is shredded cabbage and rice. While authentic Hatcho miso simmered udon can sometimes have a bitter taste, this one has a more straightforward Hatcho miso flavor. In the center, there is a half-cooked egg that when broken, adds a smooth taste. The pork miso soup is full of ingredients and has good cost performance, so it is definitely worth ordering as a side dish. One downside of the restaurant is that it takes time from ordering to serving. I waited about 15 minutes, so it's not the best in terms of speed for a stand-alone store.

Located along the Koshu Kaido road near the south exit of Shinjuku Station is a favorite pork cutlet bowl restaurant. I was in the mood for a pork cutlet bowl, so I decided to visit the restaurant. They had a limited-time item called "Miso Tamakatsu Bowl", which caught my attention. I usually try to avoid ordering limited-time items at this restaurant because they often disappoint, but I couldn't resist trying the "Miso Tamakatsu Bowl". I used a coupon to get a discount on the 715 yen dish. It was extremely sweet. Why did they make it so sweet? You don't even need to use hachimitsu (sweet miso) to make it this sweet. While I admire the adventurous spirit of this restaurant, this time they missed the mark. It was a big disappointment. I think I'll stick to their classic pork cutlet bowl and pork cutlet curry dishes.

A favorite pork cutlet rice bowl restaurant along the Koshu Kaido street near the south exit of Shinjuku Station. Ordered the pork cutlet curry (bamboo) for 913 yen (tax included). It's been a while since I had pork cutlet curry. This curry is made to match the pork cutlet. The old man next to me also ordered the pork cutlet curry, but he poured the sauce on it all at once. I was surprised, but of course, that's also fine. It was delicious.

A favorite katsudon restaurant located along Koshu Kaido near the south exit of Shinjuku Station. I think the "Katsudon (Ume)" at Katsuya is excellent in terms of lunch options, cost performance, and taste. If you feel like something is missing, adding miso soup is recommended. It's satisfying enough for lunch. The "Katsudon (Take)" has thicker pork slices. It would be better if there were more eggs, as it feels a bit lacking in that aspect. In terms of balance, it's not as good as the "Ume" option. If you want to eat more pork cutlets, it's a good choice, but in terms of balance, "Ume" is better. There is also the "Matsu" option, but it's unclear if it has two pork cutlets and eggs. So, my recommendation is definitely the "Katsudon (Ume)" at Katsuya. It was delicious again today. Thank you.

Favorite pork cutlet bowl restaurant along Koshu Kaido Street near the south exit of Shinjuku Station. I personally prefer the bowl dishes, so I always order those. Today's order: Cutlet Bowl (with plum) for 472 yen (tax included) using a coupon. As always, delicious. The taste is definitely better than the Narimasu branch. I didn't realize that the taste could vary depending on the branch. When I ate at the Narimasu branch, it felt different from usual, but the Shinjuku South Exit branch is delicious. When in doubt, "Katsuya". This place will definitely be in my rotation. I will definitely visit again. Thank you.

A favorite pork cutlet bowl restaurant along Koshu Street near the south exit of Shinjuku Station. Suddenly craving a pork cutlet bowl, I visited. Ordered: Pork Cutlet Bowl (Plum) for 472 yen (tax included) with coupon. No matter how many times I eat it, it's still delicious. Sprinkling a little shichimi spice adds a nice accent. The miso soup is also delicious, but I'll save that for next time. The radish pickles provided are unexpectedly good. Enjoy!

Located along the Koshu Kaido road near the south exit of Shinjuku Station is a favorite katsudon restaurant. Feeling like indulging in a hearty katsudon, I decided to visit. I ordered the Special Katsudon for 759 yen (tax included). The Special Katsudon features a larger portion of pork cutlet, extra rice, and a soft-boiled egg on top. In other words, it's not just a simple large serving of katsudon, making it a great choice when you're really hungry. While the dish was not bad at all, I couldn't help but feel that the "Katsudon with Umeboshi" that I usually order has a better balance of flavors with the egg. This experience made me appreciate the goodness of the "Katsudon with Umeboshi" even more. Cheers!

Katsuya is located a 2-3 minute walk from the south exit of Shinjuku Station. The restaurant is always crowded with office workers during lunch and dinner. While they have monthly special menus, I decided to go with their classic Katsudon this time. I ordered the "Matsu" size, which has the most volume of tonkatsu for 979 yen. It came with two pieces of tonkatsu and two eggs. The cost performance is amazing, as it's all under 1000 yen. The flavor is relatively light and has a traditional Japanese dashi taste. It's a solid and delicious choice. Of course, it will leave you feeling very full. Thank you for the meal.

I love katsudon and often eat it at soba restaurants. I always order the katsudon set, I love the delicious broth. Recently, I have been enjoying the katsudon at "Katsuya". The freshly fried katsu and tasty broth are great and reasonably priced. Katsudon costs 572 yen and miso soup costs 154 yen, totaling 726 yen. I don't like that there are only counter seats and that there are no female customers. It's a shame because if they improve the atmosphere, more female customers would come.

On this day as well, I aimed for the limited-time menu, the seafood fry set meal, and headed straight to the restaurant! This time, the restaurant was Katsuya Shinjuku Minami-guchi store. I was able to enter and sit down smoothly. However, unfortunately, the seafood fry set meal that I was looking for was sold out. And even the shrimp fry itself was sold out. (Oh well) I was hungry, so I decided to order something to eat. I ordered the Katsudon with plum sauce for 472 yen (using a coupon). It has been a while since I had Katsudon from Matsuya. I thought the taste and content were appropriate for the price. I wonder if the special Katsudon would have higher quality ingredients? Nevertheless, I think there are quite a few people who aim for Katsuya's limited-time menu. It would be appreciated if they could prepare more ingredients in anticipation of that. When I paid, I received another 100 yen discount coupon. It looks like I will continue visiting Katsuya in the future. Thank you for the meal.

There is also a restaurant in Okachimachi, and although I hesitated to enter, I decided to try the pork cutlet rice bowl after avoiding oily dishes for a while. The restaurant was crowded, but I ordered the grated radish pork cutlet set. The pork cutlet had no fatty parts, and there was plenty of grated radish on top, which didn't make me feel heavy in the stomach. The miso soup had little pork, but plenty of vegetables, so I was satisfied with it.
