After work, I went to "Kimuraya Honten Tokyo Station Yaesu J" where you can enjoy Kyushu cuisine! I had aged fresh sashimi, horse sashimi, motsunabe, and chicken wing gyoza. The restaurant is located about a 3-4 minute walk from the Yaesu Chuo exit of Tokyo Station. The first floor has a spacious counter seating area with tables lined up. The second floor has private rooms of various sizes that can be used depending on the number of people. First, cheers! I started with a lemon sour♪ The aged fresh sashimi platter includes Kanpachi, Tai, and Shimaaji. The sashimi, which has been aged to concentrate the umami and increase the elasticity, paired well with sake. The assorted grilled skewers include chicken bonjiri, momo, seseri, mini tomato wrapped in meat, myoga wrapped in meat, and eringi skewers. The variety of skewers, including meat and vegetable wraps, were delicious! The horse sashimi platter consists of three types: lean meat, tategami, and marbled meat. The fresh horse sashimi paired well with Kyushu's sweet soy sauce, raw garlic, and ginger. Next, I ordered three dishes that go well with beer! The garlic shrimp was crispy, and the garlic sauce and avocado dip were delicious. The chicken wing gyoza with a crispy wing was flavorful. The back ribs, Mao Zedong style, were fried to a crisp and topped with fried garlic, chili peppers, cumin, and dried shrimp. The beer went well with the spicy and flavorful ribs. After finishing the beer, I switched to the premium fresh tomato sour. Finally, I finished with the authentic Hakata motsunabe. The motsunabe with salt was chosen to bring out the flavor of the ingredients. The combination of cabbage, leeks, burdock, and plump motsu in the soup was perfectly balanced. The sweet cabbage and juicy motsu were especially delicious! For dessert, I had kiwi gelato. Overall, the motsunabe, with its garlic flavor, was delicious. I recommend going the day before your day off... (laughs)
