なべまさわ
On this day, I went to Sumitomo Taro with my otaku friends. We all agreed on this day because it was convenient for everyone. I took the day off from work so I left home early and stopped by the Nikon Museum before meeting up in Okachimachi. I arrived early, so I got off at Akihabara Station and walked to Okachimachi. My friends also arrived early and we met up. We had made a reservation for 18:00, so we visited a temple and prayed before heading to the restaurant. There were four of us, so we were seated at a box table. We each grabbed our favorite items and the all-you-can-eat and drink began. One friend couldn't make it last minute, so there were only three of us. I showed the server a coupon on my phone for a discount on the 120-minute all-you-can-drink option, making it 1000 yen per person instead of 1400 yen. The dinner buffet cost 2600 yen per person. I had heard from a colleague that the food at Sumitomo Taro wasn't great, so I didn't have high expectations. However, the meat was not bad, especially the kalbi and loin. The sushi selection was limited to tuna, mackerel, shrimp, egg, and tuna nigiri. The rice was very small compared to before. Overall, considering the price, I was satisfied with the variety of food offered. They also had soft serve ice cream, cotton candy, and DIY ramen, which was enjoyable. It's a good place for families with children. The store is located in a building in Tokyo, so the dining area felt a bit cramped. I used to frequent the Sumitomo Taro in Iruma City, which I found more spacious. But for the price and variety, it's worth a visit once in a while. One thing that bothered me was the service. When I asked for a refill on my drink, the server responded in an irritated manner, saying, "Wait until you finish what you have." I found this response rude. I understand it was a busy Saturday night, but still. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
